I recently used QPST to enable faster agps locks. By the way I have an alltel htc vogue flashed to cricket. After I used qpst I no longer have evdo. The phone is only working in 1x. Any suggestions?
I don't know the answer, I have the same question. EVDO has not yet rolled out in my area, but last week I was in an area with it 3 times. My phone is set up for hybrid reception, and previously automatically switched over. I notice last week that to get it to go on the EVDO network I had to change the settings to EVDO only. I don't know if QPST is what changed things, but it appears something did.
Thanks for the reply. I have never had a problem, now all of a sudden I cant get evdo. Without it I have no internet, no pic message. This sucks
Maybe it changed your prl is the only thing i can think, try doing an ota update. Or manually adding your areas evdo prl.
Ok all set for somereason it changed my epst settings. So I went back in and manually changed them back. We are all good now. Hey Brute is your vogue on cricket? I am looking for a new rom, any suggestions?

Good evening all,
Hopefully someone can answer my question.
Sunday I took a road trip. I noticed that my phone had no service. In the past when I left the t-mobile area my g1 would automatically connect to whatever network was available and the roam indicator would show up.
I tried to manually connect to at&t through the network operators menu. My phone said "Your sim card does not allow a connection to this network.".
I have a rooted g1 running the official t-mobile 1.6 rom. Is this a problem with my rom or my phone or the network. I've tried searching and I haven't found much of a solution yet.
I am in the usa. A lot of the google search results I got were from Europe.
might not have been a ROM issue; just a bug...
Did you reboot or force radio off then back on?
I have the same problem and yet no luck to resolve this.

I did reboot and enable/disable airplane mode.
Today I switched to the Cyanogen Rom. I'll see if that fixes the problem. I tried to manually switch to at&t, but it still says that the sim card does not allow that. I am in the t-mobile coverage area; t-mobile probably does not allow the use of a different network when their network is available. I'd like to test it out to see if roaming works now, but I'm not taking a drive out to the countryside just to see how my phone works.
I guess this one might be hard for me to test because I am rarely out the the t-mobile coverage area.
Does anyone have the evdo settings for ntelos? whats the login information supposed to be [email protected]? I had a htc hero but it screwed up and started saying cellular south. If anyone could look in qpst it would be greatly appreciated! I switched phones and im trying to get evdo working. Thank you!
Do you mean MMS/WAP/BREW? there are no settings for EVDO, your PRL takes care of that. If it's really EVDO that doesn't work (only signal bars for 1X) check over at corolada
Cannot fix nTelos phones that switch to Cellular South!

You tried the PRI fix, didn't you?
Background: HTC Hero has two basic radios, Sprint, and Cellular South. All the minor regional CDMA telcos (nTelos, Apallacian, etc) have their own radios flashed over the Cellular South radios.
If you did the PRI fix, it reflashed the nTelos radio to the default Cellular South settings and locks the radio against changes.
Here's my tip from (bad) experience: Run the Sprint 1.56 RUU and pull the battery as soon as it erases the boot sector. Then head to your nearest nTelos store (preferrably a small one without a repair center or knowledgeable employees). Tell them your phone stopped working. They should give you a replacement. If they ask anything that sounds intelligent about what you were doing, tell them that you were excited about hearing that 2.1 was coming out, and you were checking PRL and firmware updates a couple times a day. Tell them that it looked like it was doing something, rebooted, and stopped working.
I'm still not sure if nTelos reps are extremely customer service oriented or have no clue, but this line of $#!+ seems to work with them.
yea, i meant the apn settings, doesn anyone have them by any chance?
Downgraded to calkulins v1.7 since i was having issues with 1.8 and now i am not getting evdo connectivity at all. My phone only connects to 1x. Ive tried restoring my settings when i do ##3282# edit data profile and evdo. Im not sure what else to do. Ive flashed 3 different roms and nothing helped. What else can i do?

Go to settings, wireless & networks, mobile networks, mode of operation, and chose evdo only. This fixed my problem, hopefully it will help you.
I have no option to select mode of operation. I am unrooted now and back on bone stock ROM and still have this issue so I am not sure what is wrong. I am currently chatting with sprint to reset anything on their end. However, it still only connects to 1XRTT
try flashing 1.8 back and change the operation mode to hybrid. double check with ##3282# to also make sure the evdo setting is on automatic.

i just fixed this problem myself. go back to calkulin's evio 1.8, and change setting to hybrid. to see if it works, type ##3282# into dialer and choose view mode. go to evdo settings, and make sure its set on automatic. if not, then:
retrieve your msl (free app in market msl reader) and type the same code in, but choose edit mode. type in your msl, and go to evdo settings, and change to auto.
Ahhhh! I don't have this option :/

Changing to EVDO only helps with 1X, but I found out that the setting to EVDO only will not allow incoming text or calls. I had to put it back to Automatic.
I've tried everything everyone has posted so far. Changing to EVDO only and automatic and all that stuff. I took it into the Sprint store today and they tried telling me it was on 3G since the icon was showing that. I told them the evo icon never changes to 1x even when connected to 1x. She still didn't believe me. So I downloaded a few apps that showed my phone only connected to 1x and she downloaded the same app and it showed hers connected to EVDO. She said she couldn't trust the app and then she compared my phone internet load times to hers and mine was actually faster so she still wasn't convinced. I explained that the 3G is on a higher frequency than 1x and being indoors she may have a poor signal compared to mine. Also I told her that everyone in our area is probably connected to EVDO, thus slowing it down, versus just me on 1x, so I had better speeds. She said that is very true, so she ordered me a new Evo that should be here in a few days.

THIS WILL GET YOU 3G
but you will be constantly roaming
try it out and let me know if it works for you.
##775#
search for 00001.prl and change it.
commit changes and it will restart
give it about 10 mins to get connected right and do a speed test.
i was getting only 15-20 kbps using the latest sprint prl.
i changed to this modified prl and im getting 1700-2200 kbps
i think sprints prl's are messed up..
What test can o perform to prove that its versions network I am using after this hack? An iplookup says I'm still connected to sprint.

I'm having the exact same problems. Tried damn near everything at this point. No luck. If you find a solution, please post it.
Hey all yes I am a newbie, but I have been using roms for a quite a while I love the customization of the HD2, we are switching services in a couple weeks to either Verizon or US Cellular but this issue is bugging me like crazy, I used to be able to use my phone in the parking lot at my job, we arent allowed to leave on break, used to get 2-3 bars and an Edge signal, in a place Tmobile says I should have great coverage over the last couple days I have gotten no signal what so ever in the same place I used to use my phone every single day for about a year. I sit there for my whole break trying to talk to my wife while refreshing networks, auto selecting it or manually gives me 4 full bars and an edge signal then it all goes away. I guess why I am posting it to see if anyone has suggestions to what I can do to fix it. The phone works fine at home and on the road just not near work anymore. I have always used different roms, and never had the issue at all, always full task 29 wipes, my current build is
CyanogenMod Version PARANOIDDROID
Kernel 2.6.32-ics_tytung_HWA_r2.4_uniMAC [email protected] #272
Baseband 15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14
Any suggestions are appreciated! Thank you again! Jake
I well ask a obvious question, have you checked your APN's. I knowyou are getting a data signal but maybe one of the APNsettings need to be changed.
Also do you have you checked in Settings/Mobile network/Network mode. See if you have WCDMA only, GSM only, or WCDMA/GSM auto.

Thanks for the response, my only APN is epc.tmobile.com and I cannot locate the network mode... No network mode setting that I can find.
Edit:: Found it its set to WCDMA Preferred is that what it should be?

Try WCDMA/GSM auto that way your device can switch back and forth as needed between WCDMA or GSM as it needs to.
I updated the PRL on my Note 3 using the dialer code. Ever since my phone won't connect to 4G LTE. I'm running Eclipse, not sure if that matters. Is there a way to get 4G back?
hehe i knew this would come in handy. Had the same happened to me. service menu 27663368378 > UE SETTING & INFO > SETTING > PROTOCOL > CDMA > EFS PROFILE > eHRPD PROFILE > SET TO VZW DEFAULT. Then restart. Problem should be fixed.

Thanks for the suggestion, but the service menu doesn't work with the Eclipse ROM. The longer version of my problem is that I went on Vacation, and was getting poor reception. The coverage map seemed to indicate I should be getting better reception, so I tried to update my PRL. That is when I lost 4G completely. Upon arriving back home, I updated my PRL again while in an area I knew I usually got full bars of LTE. Now I get LTE, but it drops back to 3G after a few minutes if I'm not actively downloading anything. To get LTE back, I have to cycle airplane mode.
I may try to flash a rom that the service menu works with and try what you suggested when I find the time.
have you tried [APP][1.6+] CSC Changer + Refurbishment Check + Phone INFO

heres link. free from playstore should work around the google dialer. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2609045
also the "activity launcher" app from the play store may help as well
Hehe i use that app to get inside the service menu. Since dialing the code doesnt work on the stock verizon rom. Served me well.

Nice!
I tried going back to the MJE modem, problem seemed to get worse. Went back to the NC4 modem and updated PRL, and LTE seems to be sticking now.
What procedure did you use to update the prl. Honestly prl update on their own so I dont know why you decided to do this

I was on vacation in LA and was getting terrible signal wherever I went (coverage maps indicated I should have had a good signal most places). I figured it would be a quick thing to try. I dialed *228 to do it. I thought it was a long shot that it would fix anything, but I figured it couldn't hurt.

*228 Should never be uaed on a 4G phone it could easily mess up your phone like it seemed to do. PRL are automatically pushed to 4G devices. I don't undwrstand how but you can supposedly ruin your sim card by doing it.
Interesting. I'll try swapping sim cards with my tablet. I'm traveling again, and LTE isn't working now that I'm in Atlanta. It was working this morning in DC. That service menu setting didn't seem to help.
I swapped sim cards with my tablet, and both devices had LTE. Did a speed test, and they both got above 15 Mbps. When I swapped the cards back, my phone once again failed to connect to LTE. I don't have any idea what information sim cards hold, but it seems weird that my phone sim card works fine in my tablet but not in the phone. I guess I'll be getting a new sim card.

Don't do *228 anymore also that way you save your sim card.
I'm still confused why the "bad" sim card works fine in my tablet.
