Qtek 9100 won't start. - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

Hello, i've recently bought an used qtek 9100 Phone, with SNE on it.
The phone worked great until i did run a program that were installed on the phone, after i started the program the phone screen went white, and i had to remove the battery. When i turned on the phone agian, the SNE screen appeared and the phone seemed to start normally; though when it went to the: Touch! No Evil text, it wouldn't go any futher and it still won't
Is there any way to format the phone? or what can i do?
I've already tried both of the reset things without success.
Thanks

If both Soft Reset and Hard Reset doesn't work, the only other alternative is to reflash a fresh rom,cuz some program files have corrupted the 'Extended Rom' probably.
Cheers!

How to *really* hard reset Universal to factory condition

With all this talk about WM5 devices not really resetting everything after a hard reset, and my device being dead and not recovering after a hard reset makes me think, there must be an alternate way to really hard reset a device back to factory condition.
I tried a lot of combinations of presses to no end. The only thing I am suspicious about but did not play with is a red/white round sticker (which looks like it is hiding a button) under the battery (upper left corner).
Anyone know what that is, or is there a way to do a harder reset? Taking the battery out for a few days did not help either.
Because flash memory actually needs erasing rather than just resetting I doubt it is possible to clear it with a simple button press. It may be you can do a normal hard reset and hold down a button to bypass loading data from the flash then format it. But I've no idea really.

Re-flash the ROM?
uuummm some where in this forum i read that if you have wm2005 and go to boot loader mode you get an option over there to clear the cache or memory something like that, and that would give you a clean installation.....
haven't tried it though.....and i doubt i would get such an option in wm2003se, also i have a similar problem i did a complete flash reinstallation of rom to my device and after the installation i opened windows media player (wasnt the first thing i opened, but didnt copy any files)and guess what....i had a song available over there..... which i could actually play and it did....i checked the location of the file and it was somewhere in my device or documents dont quite remember i did a hard reset again and same issue....
after that i have'nt tried anything the rom is same i just deleted the folder manually but i would also like to know how to TOTALLLLLLY ERASE ALL DATA from the device and clean install everything
regards
on the XDA II and WM5 you hold down the buttons to resent stage then i gives you three options. One of these I am sure clears the phone
I hard reset my Universal several times (well I think I did at least)
Press the soft reset plus the two "-" buttons and you will have a white screen asking if you want to put back your HTC back factory default
Unfortunately that standard hard reset, doesn't do it. I am still stuck at reboot, and the radio rom version shows the attempted upgrade version (01) that started the problem in the first place.
i tried some of them according to herein, but some of them were not function.

there's a little icon called "clear storage" which brings your settings to the factory's default. what's wrong with it?
i'm stuck too in bootloader with my mda pro

This may be too late, but there's no way to do any sort of a reset to revert back to a previous ROM... the only thing you can do is reflash the earlier ROM.

ok ... now the final BIG request ... who can give us an update that works. the patched Maupgradeut_noid is not working with the latest upgrade.
thanks.
To revert back to clean copy of OS (i.e newly installed OS)
Hi,
Just to share with you my experience in reverting my phone to its original OS condition. Before that, just to give you guys some background.
1. Upgraded from PPC2003 to WM5
2. Tried install some patch to enable file transfer (OBEX) in BT
3. Suddenly, the phone screen gone missing. Phone shows No Signal. Cannot receive call.
3a. Did a OS reflash again, but still does not solve the problem.
4. **Panic for a moment **
5. Looked thro Program Files, and seems like some appln i installed were not erased despite doing a hard reset. So, i guess the hard reset doesnt erase some portion of the memory
6. Googled for a solution, but most said do hard reset
7. Went back xda-developers.com site to look for solution
8. Finally found a method. see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1164331 to do a format on the memory
Now, my phone is working fine. The phone screen is back and it shows my telco name, and can receive call
Hope this helps.
Rgds,
Choon
you're in the wrong forum mate

Is it DEAD ????

My M600 refuses to boot... just stays on the Start-up screen, can anyone come up with a method of retrieving this phone.
I have tried the original "Orange" ROM but still get the same problem...
Try a hard reset. However this will delete all your information, stored on the phone
Tried all the usual
I have tried a Hard Reset and loads of soft resets, also re-loaded the Orange shipped ROM and various others.
Still refusing to boot

Dead/Dying phone? Need help asap :(

I don't know if the phone is bricked or what. Was in the store tonight, tried to text message my wife who I couldn't find and the phone was all locked up.
Soft reset, and only the date/time loaded, nothing would run. Soft reset again, and the phone didn't load past the bright splash screen. Tried soft reseting a bunch more times, nada. Did a hard reset, first one didn't work. I think it was the 3rd hard reset that took. Phone seemed like it was back to basic WM5, would be okay. Went home, put it on the charger.
Went to take it off the charger to reload data, and it won't turn on. Soft reset, freezes at bright splash screen. Hard reset, same thing.
Is my phone bricked? Anything that I can do to revive it? Or am I SOL?
Cingy/ATT 8525 w/WM5
(By "bright splash screen" I mean when the splash screen flashes brightly. It increases brightness, but just stays that way.)
Any help greatly appreciated.
I managed to load the official WM6 ROM (spl 2.03) via the built-in bootloader. I have radio, ROM, and GSM. It boots through the ATT animation, then freezes. It leaves a black screen with a blue and green static bar running horizontally across the screen about 1/4" thick.
I don't know how to get Hard-SPL loaded on the device because the only way I can see the device is when it's in the built-in bootloader mode.
will attempt PB/KITL I guess, though I can't at this point get the phone to display the KITL info.
No KITL in the ATT WM6 ROM.
Managed to get ATT WM6 ROM through the setup, after the "customization (bloatware)" it reset, and now it sticks on the bootup animation.
So close, I have SSPL and Hard SPL on the micro SD, if only I could get to the damn file manager. If I could somehow cancel out the customization process grrr.
On power charger, I seem to be able to get through the setup after a hard reset okay. It just won't boot after the reset.
Any ideas. I gotta get a few hours sleep. Sorry if this dialog to myself is in the wrong area, I didn't notice the "bricked hermes" thread was in the upgrades, etc area.

Not sure I fully grasp what's happening here, but if you want to stop the customisation then hard reset and when it goes to the loading cusimisation stage shove the stylus in the hole to do a soft reset and it will stop it loading.
Mike
Alright, thanks, will give that a try.
I managed to run the official ATT WM6 ROM and flash it without a hiccup (twice), and task 28 in bootloader says no bad blocks. So I am confused how I can flash an "official" ROM successfully and the device still won't work. Am starting to suspect hardware failure apart from memory.
Thanks a million mate, that worked. Phone boots now, already have SSPL installed. Need to update .net and activesync for Hard-SPL 7 to run I guess. Then I have more options.
Woot! I unbricked my phone
Once I was able to hard reset and cancel the "customization" I ran SSPL, then Hard-SPL 7, then I Super-CIDed the device.
I haven't tweaked the data settings yet, but I can send/receive phone calls. Which is a coup, because this is my main line.
It runs sluggishly. I don't know if that is the ROM or the device. It won't boot if it's plugged into USB, and after flashing Hard-SPL it isn't a recognized device by windows, won't connect to activesync.
I am treating the phone gingerly right now, will try and unload the ATT wap settings cab and restore my pim.
At least now I have the option to install another ROM if it bricks on me again.
I really should have flashed Hard-SPL the DAY, the MINUTE after the warranty was up. Lesson learned.
Or not.
ATT ROM locked up on me, decided to try Schaps 4.40. Won't load past WinMo "tap screen to setup" screen. Guess I'll try something else.
For a stable WM6 rom try TNT SE. It is REALLY stable but does come with some 3rd party apps. Thought you might like to get it working though first then try the other roms and in my experiance I haven't found many other roms that were THIS stable...
Hope you get it working...
For a disassembly guide try this site - http://michael-channon.spaces.live.com/PersonalSpace.aspx?_c02_owner=1
Its a bloody good place to go for all things to do with hardware and Mike is a true guru with hardware problems...

Wizard boot up then goes to white screen

Hi XDAers,
I have tried a number of things and is at a loss - I have a 2 years IMAT KJAM Wizard G4. The problem occured 2 days ago when the device just freezed on me. I did a soft reset, booted fine but then came up after the initial load screen (WizardLove AKU 2) with a white screen.
I have reloaded the IPL, flashed the ROM with WizardLove again, Hard reset back to factory defaults, soft resets the works.
After ROM flash it boots up, i get ActiveSync to load and connect fine. but with in 5 - 10 after having the phone up and working the screen goes white.
If any one has any idea what could up with the Wizard device please let me know?
Regards,
Hennie
I have the same problem!
Not sure how hard it is to fix but it seems to be a component issue,
Iknow its a different phone but check out:

I havent tried it yet but it worked for them

Hard Reset + Soft Reset

Hi All,
Got me a P3400i a few days ago, and tried the usual trick of hard reset, followed by soft reset to get a clean vanilla WM6 setup, without all the HTC Custom stuff, but the phone just goes back to the main screen with "Tap here to setup your Windows Mobile device"
Have any of you encountered this as well?
Is there any other sequence to be followed to get RID of all the HTC stuff in the extROM?

I think improper extROM setup may cause a bad battery drain
SOLVED
Sorry, my bad....
It seems I had to do the soft reset before the customisation started. Its working fine now
Hard-resetting...... how?
I have tried pressing the reset button time and again but of no use. Problem is, my messaging option just doesn't appear. I mean, it's there, but when clicked, doesn't activate. Please help. It's been about a month since I bought the HTC p3400i
If your phone is patched or if you are ready to patch it (thus loosing your warranty), you can always get a custom rom with smaller, empty extrom. Or if you like to have the original ROM, get the original WM 6 ROM from this forum and the tool HTC ROM Image Editor, remove extrom.nb from the ROM and inject the 4 MB, empty version of extrom into it. YOu can get it by requesting any of the chefs here, including me
