I've tired searching, but I can't find out how I can go past boot load screen. I'm trying to update to wm6, but my windows wont accept the drivers, as it says its drivers are better. its mainly because I have vista, but now nothing is moving on. I can't re try the program, if I hard rest it (I've unlocked it and I've run repart_doc) will I be able to get the standard 2003 again? I don't want to brick my phone at all. any help would be great.

where and what are you trying to do? when do you press it?

I was upgrading my XDAIIi to Xda IIi ROM v 1.11.162. during which it show an error message and it just went blank looking closely at the screen showing USB at the top of the screen and the bottom of it has v1.01,
when put on the cradle it showing USB.
I have press the reset botton God knows how many times

Were you trying to upgrade to the rom I posted? With RADIO 1.03 in the filename?
You need to press the power, d-button down and the reset button all together.
Then run the update program again. If it is the original O2 rom then it should work fine from there. If it is the rom I posted then the update will fail initially, just run the program a second time without touching your phone at all.

No, I am upgrading from O2 website. I am sorry it not connecting to my pc at all. No sign of life ,

Try doing a hard reset by holding the power button down and pressing the reset button.
Put it into bootloader by pressing the power, d-button down and the reset button all together and releasing them at the same time. The screen should say SERIAL. Connect it to your PC and the screen should then say USB. Then you should be able to run the update.
If this doesn't work as a last resort try taking the battery out for a while to let the backup run down and start again. Whatever happens the phone needs to go into bootloader mode and a rom applied to get it working again.

The D button is the "Directional" button, in between the green pickup phone button and the red hang up button.

Before opening this thread i have done a lot of search about my problem but i could not find any solution. My pocket pc is HTC Touch 3450, it works fine but i want to unlock its CID. I tried every combination to enter bootloader mode (CAMERA + SOFT RESET, or CAMERA+POWER+SOFTRESET etc.) but when i try, it boots normally. Also there is no SD card in it. As i said everything works fine. I tried to upgrade its ROM but i got CONNECTION error in %0 of progress. I know to upgrade ROM i must enter bootloader but as i said i cannot. Also i can try to upgrade ROM via SD card but again i have to enter bootloader mode, but as i said i cannot.
When i try to enter bootloader mode it boots normally and begins the system and works everything fine. I dont know its history, i mean its my new second hand phone.
Anyone, any idea? Please help me!!!!.

Phone turned off. Hold down camera button, press power button to boot, while still holding camera button until the bootloader appears...
If you can't get your device into bootloader and you have tried all options, which it seems like you did. Consider the fact that you may have a clone, where did you purchase the phone from? This issue has been mentioned before, and that was the answer to why the bootloader wouldn't load.
Easy way to tell is check the battery, it'll say HTG instead of HTC.

You see I thought that mine was a clone due to the trouble getting into bootloader, but I can see no other reason to believe its a clone, Battery says HTC as well.
I have had plenty of experience updating roms on htc devices but this has me stumped.
unfortunately it is a HTG battery, then it is a clone When i try the combinations, (power off then push power buton+camera button) it doesn't enter bootloader mode.Now i knoe that the problem is being a clone.
My next question is, what is the way to enter bootloader in clone HTC (HTC with a HTG battery)?????

Seems there is no way to enter the bootloader mode
Clones enter bootloader by holding the volume slider UP and pressing reset. If you hold the volume slider up and hold the camera button and hit reset you can hard reset it.

I tried finding hard reset for it (its a chinese elf clone with windows mobile, worked fine for days nd days...)
When i do the following combination
Volume UP + Camera Button + Stylus reset button
It gives me an option
Enter BootLoader Master Clear. (With Blue Back Ground) It automatically exits that screen and then again gets stuck at the windows mobile screen. I've tried pressing enter button, left right but it doesnt proceed to the next level of formatting
2nd combination
Volume Up+ Reset Stylus butto
it gives enter bootloader updated from sd card, sometimes it goes to the windows mobile screen it self. Sometimes it gets stuckl on the enter bootloader screen, i've tried pressing all the buttons and ****

What do you mean by a clone??
If it is not a phone manufactured by HTC
All the procedures for Hard Reset or ROM flashing will be
totally different...
XDA forums doesn't catalog them ...
i flash with hard hspl so i could upgrade to custom rom. i checked it in the multi-color boot menu by holding down and power. i follow the steps and installed this custom rom "RUU_Leo_HTC_WWE_1.43.405.1_Radio_Signed_15.26.50.07U_2.04.50_22_2_Ship"..i watched it completed... After that phone went black.. Nothing is coming up on the screen.. When it it searches for "Qualcomm Cdma Technologies Msm" drivers... I tried active sync 4.5 for xp and windows mobile device center for windows 7 still nothing.. I got a T-mobile rom i can install back to my phone.. but just wont get it to pick up in sync.. just a blank screen. CAN ANYONE ASSIST!!!!????

I am not sure if this is posted in the right area, but since we have this started. It is not necessary to have an active since connection. All you need to do to re-install the original t-mobile rom is turn on the phone and hold down the volume down button (right after you hit the power button to turn on phone hold down the volume button). You will then see the tri-color screen and will be able to flash the old rom back on. Just make sure you have at least 50% battery.

I wanted to ask if someone clashed with problem like that and knows how to solve it. I had 1.66 rom eastern euope and installed 2.08hspl, tried to install latest magldr and I am guessing problem occured because I didnt installed latest radio. Now when I am turning on the phone it shows white screen and green logo and stuck. Tried turning of the phone and holding - volume button when turning on that didnt make any difference can someone help me to revive my phone ?
So you tried to get into bootloader, but the thing is you have to try harder.
Bootloader should work just fine.
So again, turn of your phone. while the phone is turned off, keep the vol down, and press the power button.Release the power button, but keep the vol down pressed.
You can try the other way: hold the vol down pressed and reset the phone(red button on the back).
If you want to use the SD card method to flash something you still have to enter the bootloader, so you must keep trying.
Forgot to ask: did you manage to enter the bootloader or not, cause you only said it did not make any difference????.What does that mean?
I already trying to enter bootloader for the five hours, so I guess it's impossible, also tried that thing with red button it didnt load up that bootloader screen. The thing is that holding volume key down didn't work for me before to get into bootloader even when the phone was ok but it did install all roms which I tried so I didnt think that this would be problem either apparantely it is... Maybe youu have some other suggestions how to fix it ?
If you can make the pc recognize the HD2 then you can flash anything.
But i think that this is only possible in bootloader or windows or android.
So this is a problem.

But you *do* push both vol. down and power buttons and keep them pushed until the screen turns on, don´t you?
I didn´t get into the bootloader as long as I didn´t kept both buttons pushed long enough... had to learn the "timing" kind of...
