Storage card not working on qtek 9100 - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

Hello.
I have a problem with my Qtek 9100. One day I was listening music on my phone when it suddenly turns off. I thought it was odd so I tried too update the library but nothing happen.
So I looked at Start/Settings/System/Memory/Storage card.
And all that was writhen there was - Total storage card memory: Not installed
I already tried too update the ROM to get new storage card drivers, but it did´t work.
So I beg you guys, help me.
P.S. I’m not so good in English, but I hope you understand me

It's more likely the card than the phone or the drivers. If you have a card reader for your PC then try reformatting it and see if that works. If you don't have a card reader, sticking the card in a digital camera and using it to format the card will probably work also.

Thanks for the quick respond.

I think the key to my problem is that the storage card is broken.
I´m will buy a new one tomorow and see if it works.

Wizard suddenly doesn't see miniSD card

Today I noticed that the 2GB SD card in my Wizard is not being detected at all. So I tried re-flashing it, and there was no change.
On the About screen, it says "Expansion slot: In use", I'm not sure if this refers to the SD card slot or not. In the Memory screen, it says that there is no SD card installed. If the backlight is off, and I put the SD card in, the backlight will suddenly turn on.
Unfortunately, I don't have a miniSD card reader to see if my computer can pick it up. But is there anything I could try to get the Wizard to read the SD card, before I go out and buy a new one?
did you figure this out? i have the same issue
miniSD card woes
Fellas,
Since one of you mentioned that you don't have an external miniSD reader for your PC, I would recommend trying out Pocket Mechanic Professional. This PPC software will diagnose/format your miniSD cards in your phone.
One very important notice...make sure that your phone doesn't go to sleep while Pocket Mechanic Pro is formatting your miniSD card. If this happens, then the only way to revive your miniSD card would be to format it using your PC...trust me, I learned the hard way.
By the way...this software is not freeware, but I believe you can use the trial for 30 days or so.
Good luck!

Same Problem
I had the same problem, my 2gb sandisk would not read on my cingular 8125 OR my computer... So I called Sandisk and told them what was going on. They ask you to do a ton of different things with you computer and your phone... At the end of it all they said they would send me a new one. I was very excited because I did not register it and I did not have any of the paper work. They have a kick butt customer service hot line
Same Prob. part 2
I forgot to add once I got the new card everything worked just fine.

Broken microSD reader?

Hello guys, i've just bought a vodafone v1605 Hermes, after having a bit of fun with it i've bought a microSDHD 4GB cause i wished to install TomTom...
I've inserted it, and after going on settings/memory or file explorer, i couldn't see the extended memory =(
I've tried shutting down the device and turning it back on... but nothing to do... (i've also tried to remove and insert it several times)
After that i've tested it with the adaptor on my PC and it works! =/
Strange thing...
Than i remembered that somewhere someone was talking about the fact that it's needed WM6 to see microSDHD on the device, so i've installed blacksatin, last radio version and last spl but nothing to do... my device can't see the SD card... =(
Now i'm guessing if it may be possible that my device microSD reader is broken... but i really hope not!
Has someone else had this issue?
Is there something i forgot to do? some setting, or something to flash on the device?
Just to assure that it isn't a microSD reader problem, today i'm going to buy a microSD 256mb, let's hope it will see the extended memory card..
All suggestions are appreciated... Thanks!
I had a similar problem after first buying a micro sd. The cause is from pushing it too far in. The hermes micro sd slot is deeper than the sd card is supposed to be put in (by about 1mm). If you insert it until around half a mm is still pertruding it should be ok.
Thanks for the suggestion OdeeanRDeathshead i've tried also this solution... but nothing to do... =(
Just for curiosity, when i insert the microSD and i'm in memory page, should i see it immediatly if the device recognize it? or i've to reboot or "reload" the page?
Ty!
Ok, yesterday afternoon i went to buy a new microSD 1Gb (great offer, i've paid it 13 euros for a promotion) and it works without any problem... so now i really can't understand why the device can't read the 4Gb...
It is an orginal SanDisk MicroSDHC 4Gb... =/
My only doubt is that the device can't recognize this high capacity SD... =(
Am sure I read elsewhere that you need to format the card in a PC card reader (SDHC capable) and then put it in the phone and format again - or something like that.

at this point i think that this is the missing passage...
i'll try this soon and report...
thanks crazyC!
MicroSDHC cards are not compatible with some WM5 ROMS. What ROM are you using?

Storage Card Not recognised

Thought my Hermes (well SPV M3100) was playing up.
Turns out it can no longer see the 1GB storage card.
Used to work fine and then just stopped.
I can read it on my PC and the files are on it.
Put it back into the SPV M3100 and it tells me no storage card present.
Any idea how to rectify this?
Thanks
think ive read somewhere here.. (think wiki.. am not that sure) something about your problem...
will look up link for you..
GOT IT.. TRY HERE..
hope this helps...
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I *think* I have a different problem.
The card just does not appear at all. It just doesn't think it has a storage card.
Ejecting and re-inserting has no effect. Will need to try an get hold of another MicroSD card to see if that works.
If anyone has any other suggestions, fire away please!
Howdy,
I did mention a while ago when asked about a 4gb card.
Depending on your OS (xp, or vista). You may have accidentally said yes to a 'do you want to format and scan the card ' whilst in your pc at some point.
This can kill the card as far as the phone considered.
Try re-formatting the card trying both fat and NTFS, in your PC
Anyhow, one format works one doesn't.
I have done this a few times to myself before I realised it
Good luck !
Any probs private email me if you like
If i plug out the MicroSD card and plug in again, the card might not be recgnized until reboot, or sometimes it can been found immediately. Can anyone tell me the reason?

Problem with 2G kingston miniSD card

This is my first posting to this forum, so bear with me if my problem already being answered (even though I could not find it when searching the tread )
My Trinity could not detect the 2G kingston miniSD card. When I try to detect on the computer via the card reader, I got the message the disk is not formatted and it asking me either to format it now? When I click "YES", I got the error message about the disk cannot be formatted. When I check on Disk Management, it shown the disk is Unreadable.
This miniSD is never being used before (even though I bought it awhile back). I just wondering if this miniSD already damage somehow. I cross my finger it is not a problem with my Trinity ~ hate to send it for repair because I just upgrade the ROM to WM6 yesterday with latest HTC official rom
Any input about this problem is very much appreciated.
if the card reader cant work with it and your pda will not work with it
then for it to be an issue with your pda it would require there to be an
issue with cardreader too
chaches are the card is dead
Yes indeed!!!

Thanks Rudegar. Yes it is dead , kind of suck considering that card is never being used. When put on a brand new card that I just bought (2GB PenDrive miniSD for USD25 (RM83)), the PPC can access it OK. Did any of you know how to resurrect the dead miniSD card? Is it possible? Sorry for stupid question, I'm newbie to PPC and SD card
hi.
it could be a hight density minisd card. there is some patch to fix it.
search it here, somewhere. it's a know issue!
try to use another minisd, but with less size to prove it.
i home is not the phone problem!
The same card works fine with my trinity.
Yours is probably out of order.
Yes dead
Yes it is because no problem when I using a new miniSD card.

SD card corruption-Any official solution nowadays?

Hi,
I've read some posts regarding this issue but I was unable to find if there's already a definite solution to the memory card corruption on P3600.
Can anyone update me about that, please?
I have a 2 GB A-Data Super 80X mini SD that worked fine for 2 years since I bought this HTC. 2 months ago I sent it to warranty for exchange of the peeling covers and they also updated the WM5 ROM. After that I took some photos and used the card on the PC to save a few Tom-Tom updates and 2 weeks later Tom-Tom complained that it couldn’t find any voices. When I opened File Explorer there it was, the funny characters replaced a few folders. Before that I was using the first Portuguese official ROM that activated the GPS.
Tips and tricks I've already found around here:
To workaround the problem you can set the device to turn itself off after 1 minute in the power options, then let the device turn itself off instead of pressing the power button.
Install WM6 - Is this confirmed to solve the problem?
Memory performance tweaks-File system cache is too big, there could be some problems with your storage card, so decrease your file system cache - Is this confirmed to solve the problem forever?
As long as I copy files to/from the card using an external card reader (and not via active sync), I have no problems. - It is slower but if this works I can live with it.
Soft-reset - This didn't work for me.

Thats the one thing i hate about my trinity. I haven't got a card reader, so everything gets sent via activesync. Unfortunately anything above 15mb just crashes the card and i have to soft reset and hopefully delete the files on there.
The only solution i have found that (sometimes) works is transfering over wi-fi.
I have got a corruption problem as well. I installed a game that failed but after soft resetting i was left with files i couldn't delete, but i dont want to format yet as tomtom and other larger files can be tedious transfering over wifi.
I would like to know if there is a way to get rid of this without formatting, and why activesync crashes at 15mb
After installing a WM6.5 ROM and formating the card this problem never appeared again. The 2gb mini SD card is working as it should work without any extra tweaks or drivers.
But now I have a spare micro SDHC of 4gb and will buy a mini sd adapter to upgrade my 2gb card on trinity. I'll post my experience with the 4gb card after testing it exaustively.
For people that are having issues with the SD card on WM5, maybe its a good idea to try some alternate drivers like these:
