Qtek S100 -> Crasy Bluetooth? - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 General

Hi,
With my S100, (ROMs 1.12...)the Bluetooth works only if the USB cable is connected and synchronized with computer!!!! If I don't connect it, the bluetooth radio works a few secondes then turn off! (Of course I have tried everything: softreset, hardreset, SHOUTreset...) but the radio bluetooth ever turn off after a few seconds...
And if I use Bluesoleil (+switch bluetooth, see ''stack post''...) it only works when connected with USB cable!!! If not, Bluesoleil doesn't work too!!!
My question is:
IS IT NORMAAAAAAL??? (bluetooth works only with usb cable)
If yes, the bluetooth on a PDA is completely stupid, isn't it??
(IF I WANT A BLUETOOTH PDA, IT'S TO USE IT WITHOUT A CABLE!!)
Please Heeeeeeeeeeeelp!

How old is your device? Have you considered that most probably your battery is already defective?

Thanks for your answer!

Well, no I bought it in december 2005...
I didn't notice any problem of battery when I use the qtek...
(How could I see if my battery is defective?)
I noticed that sometimes Bluetooth works a few seconds before the GPRS connexion starts... the BT blinks, turns on & off... then stays on... then blinks again... then turns off !
Does the radio bluetooth use the same "channel" as the GPRS to work???
Thus, I have the impression that I must choose between telephoning and using the bluetooth… and moreover that the qtek must be connected with an usb cable to work! This is exasperating! :-(

Bluetooth need usb
PS : If I connect and synchronize my s100 with the usb cable, bluetooth (and bluesoleil too) works. A soon as I disconnect the cable, I loss the bluetooth radio after a few seconds... And the S100 (when I use Bluesoleil) say to me:
"Your Bluetooth device initialization fails! Do you want to configure it manually?"

So, it means that bluetooth need usb cable ant that is foolish!

I have BT on all the time and have no problems using TT and phoning at the same time. BT consumes a lot of power thus to check if the battery is the problem, fully charge your battery then start using BT. When the problem occurs check for the battery status.

ok
Ok, thank you for this information (GPRS + BT together).
Regarding the battery, I have bought a new one on the web, I'm waiting for it...

Hi,
my Qtek S100 has always a problem: the bluetooth radio works fine when the S100 is connected with Usb Cable. But as soon as I disconnect the usb cable, the bluetooth icon blinks then become deactivated.
What could be the problem?
Thanks.

If bt is on, the bt light blinks wether the device is connected (via usb or power charger) or not connected.

no
It's not the light but the icon

I have similar problem with my T-Mobile MDA Compact!
1. I switch on Bluetooth. The blue light is blinking and bluetooth icon is blue.
I wait few seconds and click on the bluetooth icon.
But T-Mobile MDA Compact is freeze. I can't operate with device anymore.
(I can't press hard buttons, i can't use stylus, i don't have connection
to my bluetooth handsfree Motorola H3).
2. I connect my MDA Compact to PC with USB cable. I switch on Bluetooth.
Everithing is OK! I have bluetooth connection to my PC, to my Motorola H3!
P.S.
Bluetooth handsfree Motorola H3 is ok. I have tested it with other mobile phones and PC.

Auto-Turn Off

I am using QTek 2020 with Jabra Freespeak 250 bluetooth headset (I am not sure if this is relevant). I have just noticed that my device is no longer turning off by itself when running of battery power as specified in the settings. Does having the bluetooth mean that it can't turn off by itself?
same problem
I am using a Bluespoon digital, and have the same problem. However I don't know if it has anything to do with it since my device has so many problems.
Hi,
I´m using a Qtek2020 with the Jabra250.
I have some times the problem with the device not turning of.
I have tried this and it works for me:
1-Close Bluetooth
2-Change turn of device time to a diferennt time. If you have 3 minutes change to 2 or 4.
3-Wait until the device turns of.
4-Turn the device on with power
5-Activate Bluetooth headset.
After I have done this the device turns of again.
Hope it will works for you both.

Wifi & Bluetooth simultaneously

Hi,
Does anyone else attempt this with their MDA Vario?
Blue tooth enabled and communicating incar with Parrot CK3100 - works fine, bt always enabled, and pairs with parrot on entering the car and switching on ignition.
Load up tomtom5 - bluetooth connects fine to GPS aswell as parrot & can use gprs to retrieve traffic updates.
Enable Wifi to attach to an 80gb incar wifi hardisk, and use tcpmp to play music from it through car stereo via stereo jack.
Problem seems to be the bluetooth keeps dropping out regulary while the wifi is active - ie the tomtom will lose gps connection, and regain it a few minutes later, or the parrot will display disconnected then reconnect a minute later. Disable wifi and it seems to behave itself (but obviously no music)
I have an Ipaq 5550 which had been using the wifi/blutooth for all the above simultaneously (and still can), which I want to replace with the wizard.
incar 80GB HD!?!
Hey Paul,
I don't know the answer to your problem (yet).
But what harddisk do you use in your car to connect over your Wizard? I have a Parrot 3100 also and love the idea of playing my music wireless in my car.
Hope you can advise me.
Asus WL-HDD2.5 + 80gb disk, powered via a 5v2a camcorder carcharger (the normal 1amp accessory socket chargers don't have the power to start up the disk).

bluetooth connection

Is it possible to use the TyTN connected with two bluetooth connections, particular a gps-mouse and a build-in freespeech car-kit?
not tried those two as a combination but I have had a phone, a pc and a headset connected to a tytn. let us know how you get on
Thanks. I will get my TyTN in a few weeks. Then I will report my experiences.

Bluetooth connection with Pioneer 9880BT car audio

In my car I've the Pioneer 9880BT (with bluetooth support). I can connect with the radio without any problem, but I saw a lot of limitations. I can't transfer my contacts to the radio. It freezes in the receiving contacts screen and then the bluetooth disconnects. Another thing is that after connecting, the only thing in the display that appears is that the hermes is connected. It don't display signal strength, battery power and other things that I saw after connecting a friend's basic cellphone from Nokia or Motorola.
Is there a way to solve these problems?
Thanks
Try installing Jetwaremobile on the phone, that extends the bluetooth capabilities.
http://www.jetwaremobile.com/
Thanks, I'll try it
It worked, thanks a lot
I have only one problem now, i still can't send my contacts.
Sending contacts have now worked, but there is another problem. I can't send more than 7 contacts a time. Hermes displays that has sent all the contacts (it sends very fast), but in the radio it freezes after sending 6/7 contacts. Closing the sending window in hermes, the radio displays contacts sent. Maybe the sending is too fast?
Thanks.
I was wondering iif you were able to get the pioneer to automatically detect the phone? I have a tytn and the P980BT and everything works great except for the contacts and the fact that I have to manually establish a connection with the phone.
Now it's eveything ok, I've installed Jetware 1.2 beta version. Now I've transfered all the contacts (273) without any problem.
The connection is automatic only when the bluetooth is active. If you turn the radio off (and in your car the radio is turned off after turning the car off) then you need to connect manually after turning the radio on.
If you can turn the radio on even with the car off, then the bluetooth will stay active even turning the radio off (you will see the bt light on), and after returning to the car, the bt will connect automatically. It won't connect only if you turn off and take the face off. Then you need to connect manually again.
interresting
So you work around is to keep the deck powered at all times and manually shutoff when you leave the car. Can you remove the faceplate and still have it work?

Problem with bluetooth handsfree

Hi,
I have a Vodafone P3600 which I had unlocked and flashed to test both HTC WM5 and Faman WM6 3.3 and 3.4. I have a problem using it with my Parrot CK3100, and it's the following: devices pair perfectly, but when I leave my car and then return, most of times P3600 does not connect with handsfree. Sometimes, it does connect, but after a long time. This occurs with any OS version I have tested.
A problem with CK3100 is discarded because I have flashed it with latest software version, and it was tested with a HP RW6815.
I tried disabling power saving, setting bluetooth as discoverable, installing Jetware, but nothing made it work as it should.
I'm near to sell my P3600 and buy a new HTC Touch only to solve this problem, because I need much a handsfree working in my car.
Can any of you give a hint of what the problem could be?
Thanks.
I forgot to say that if I power on my HTC, it always connect to the Parrot. But when it's in standby sometimes connects and others no.
I have an SonyEricsson HBH-DS200 and this works unfortunately with the P3600 also in a from you described way. I tryed AWE and PDAVIET and also AX3L ROMs.
Other points and problems with BT HandsFree are:
1.) A litle icon to show that the BT HansFree is connected will be showed in the status only after the first paaring. After that, nothing shows you, that the BT HansFree is connected (and therefor can be used) or not.
2.) After a phone call the BT HandsFree will be disconnected. That meanns, that I can not hear the phone ring in the earpice. I only hear it from the P3600. I have 2 choises after that:
a.) If I push te Answer button on the P3600, the voice is on the P3600.
b.) If I push the Answer button on the BT HansFree then the voice is on the BT HansFree (but it will be disconnected after the call).
3.) The volume can not be changed if I use the BT HandsFree. That means, the volume slide bar can be moved/changed, but this has no effect to the volume in the BT HansFree.
In my opinion if the paaring is done and the BT HandsFree is switched on it should be always:
- connected
- an icon in the status line appear
- the voice in the BT HandsFree - independent if the answer button is pushed on the phone or on the BT HandsFree
For me is the BT HandsFree very imortant, and I am a litle bit disappointed, that a device for 500 Eur works that buggy with a technology that is almost 10 year old.
