Timed BT ActiveSync - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

I have the VJBluetooth ActiveSync app working fine from shortcut and from button
What I'd like to do is set it to run as a scheduled app every hour or so.
Any ideas? Freeware peferred, I'm still trying to pay for the 8525...

Shortcut? Connect Auto & check for messsages (15 min / n

For "Connect automatically and check for messages"
Iis their a way to (easily) flip flop the setting from "Every fifteen minutes" to "Never" back and forth? I'm trying to figure out a shortcut or 3rd party app that will configure this on and off quicker then digging deep into the mailbox options every time.
The reason is my SSL IMAP connection is broken on my desktop every 15 minutes which requires closing and restarting outlook. (yeah I know, outlook sucks) The only way is to turn off auto check on the smartphone and only turn it on while on the go.

Running a Program when Activesync connects

I am trying to run a program (update weather and RSS) whenever activesync connects. When I use Memmaid or TaskManager to create a notification to run the program when an RS232 connection established (AppRunAtRS232Detect), nothing happens. If instead I set it to run when synchronization completed (AppRunAfterSync), it does run, but too often, because syncs occur every few minutes and the program runs after every sync connected.
(My workaround is to ask for permission to run, but I would be happier to do it automatically.)
Does anyone know how to create a notification that runs whenever activesync is connected, and only then?

Have you tried with "RNDIS interface instantiated", because this works with TaskManager, and that's what spbweather does.
Cheers,
.Fred
Thanks
I hadn't tried that. I verified that taskmgr RNDIS interface notifications work with .exe files, but I am trying to run an skschema program, with extension .sksc. Taskmgr won't take one of these directly, so my procedure was to create a notification using memmaid to run the .sksc file, and then edit it with taskmgr so that it runs when RNDIS interface instantiated. That didn't work, so I tried creating a notification to a .exe file, then editing that (have to switch to event mode, then back to application). So far, no luck.
This seems like a bug in taskmgr, that it will only run a .exe file, but then, it is freeware and a fine program, so I'm not complaining.
Can I edit a notification in the registry? I could set one with taskmgr to an exe. file, then go edit it with total commander to run the .sksc file instead, if I knew where notifications lived.
Memmaid
Here is what memmaid support says:
We can't figure out what is causing this notification not to fire up, according to Microsoft's documentation this should be ok. But looks like there maybe a bug in the OS that doesn't make it fire up.
DinarSoft Support
I'm at a loss; it seems like it ought to be simple enough to run a program when activesync connects, but so far, all I can run are .exe's using Taskmgr; Taskmgr won't fire up a .lnk or .sksc even when I get the setting correct by editing. Can anyone point me to the location of notifications? I tried searching the registry for notifications unsuccessfully.

I dont sync with outlook
i just sync my document folder
Set the phake server again... but this time, DO NOT DELETE THE PHAKE SERVER. Apparently, from WM5 AKU 2.0 and above, the device goes back to a default sync timetable if you do not explicitly set a server, which is why people claim that the phake server trick no longer works.
PS: I do not have Outlook installed, but it still happens. If I don't keep the fake connection settings up, Async will insist on resyncing (with NOTHING, I might add) every 5 minutes. This is easy to mitigate when the PPC is disconnected - but downright frustrating when I'm trying to update my RSS feeds.
The other method is to delete all profiles on your activesync, and now and forevermore connect your PPC as Guest.

Automatic scheduled email checks using wifi with rk-OSR

Hi,
Has anyone tried rk-OSR (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=316696) on your uni? It works, except that when the uni is off, rk-OSR is not able to wake the device. Actually, the rk-OSR log shows that it is able to start the process, but it fails when trying to activate wifi.
I noticed that if I schedule an alarm to coincide with the rk-OSR start time, it works. Is there any program available that will wake the uni and do nothing else?
Are there any other solutions available that will provide automatic email checking and notification of new mail using wifi?
Thanks,
Ted

You can disable ActiveSync by deleting the notifications that start it I believe. To do this, you will need a programm like MemMaid or SKTools. Be sure to have some sort of backup before!
But what's that disconnect thingy? I'm interested in that. It would make it easy to have mails checked every couple of minutes without having GPRS always on (I need to safe battery )

It auto disconnects all data connections if they're idle for 1 minute (actualy if phone is in standby for one minute I think..)
I thing that triggers the active sync is the weather update from spb panel and the web feeds update in the SE panel too (not sure, I tried to test this and had the web feeds autoupdate on 30 mins and i checked if connection was active every five minutes: after the first update the connection did auto dissconnect and after the second it didn't. It was on all the time until I shut it down... (Active sync was active after the second update)
Now I dont use any autoupdate things , beacuse I'm afraid draining the battery if it didn't autodisconnect, is there a way to completly remove active sync? I use only the SDcard data for USB to PC so I dont need active sync..
EDIT:
If you forceably kill the active sync proces the web feeds wont refresh anymore (thats the thing I want refreshing)

are you sure they r ok?
there's 2 options for GPRS when you check through advanced config
Auto attach enabled/disabled
auto disconnect "disable button"/"button"/"button and timer"
When auto attach is enabled, the disable button doesnt work anymore as far as i know
