I recently purchased the cingular 8125 running WM 5.0. My company uses Goodlink 4.9 to integrate with Exchange to our mobile devices. Previously had a Treo 650 and ran this without issue. Upon installing the Good software on my 8125 and setting the Good password, which our IT policy mandates, the phone switches to a white screen that has no functionality. I can see the conectivity status as well as a start button, but none of the buttons or stylus can change the screen. Shutting the phone off, or pulling the battery does not clear the issue. I've found I can solve the problem by performing a hardware hard reset and the phone operates fine until Goodlink is reinstalled. Thought it might be a memory issue, or corruption issue, but upon receiving a replacement phone from Cingular, the same issue came up. Unfortunately my IT depart, Cingular and Good are not helping, so hoping someone on this forum can.
Any Ideas?
I bought a Cingular 8125 last week and loaded Goodlink 4.9 on the handheld to synchronize with my work email, but have had no issues whatsoever. I know it's not the answer to your problem, but at least you know 4.9 should work on your new device with no problems.
Thanks for the reply, does your IT dept. require password protection?
This is just informational for anyone that runs into this issue. The issue was related to my old goodlink profile/device and trying to use a new device. The fix was removing my old goodlink profile and re-adding with a new PIN.
Yeah- Your IT dept should have told you that before you begin using a new device with Goodlink and your existing Exchange profile, the admin needs to remove your old device from the Goodlink server and send you a new pin to work when you install the Good software on the new device. My admin told me that the Goodlink pins (the one the server generates and sends to you automatically) are device specific and need to be changed whenever you switch devices.

have received my 3rd 2i from o2 uk this week i test the gprs problem and this 3rd device has it so ive rung o2 and will ring them on monday to see if they have tested there model yet
the problem is this if you plug anything in to the bottom of the 2i be it power lead gps data cable then it breaks the gprs conection to only way to get round this is to either turn on flight mode then turn off flight mode or do a soft reset :?
the data support lady i spoke to is going look at it i have her name and extention number so should get some answers ive mentioned this is a device problom and should be referd back to htc the new device is going back and im keep my current 2i the second one i received ill let you know how it goes next weekend as i work away all week as a trucker in the uk
This happens to me as well. What also happens is that if you're connected to a power source like a car charger and you had the original headphone in the jack, the caller will not hear you...nor can you use the speakerphone option.
Luckily I've now got a BT headset that works with the new BT stack on the 2i, but for a few days I was VERY frustrated with the 2i. Now I'm quite happy.
Another thing. When I go to work I use Total Remote to send the IR signal to open the garage doors and I have to take it out of the car cradle in order to point it within 2cm of the sensor (damn non-commericial IR port). When I put it back in the cradle, I get the "ding" sound of having disconnected from something and the o2 active ui is closed as well.
Worth mentioning when you speak to them again. I think it's an OS problem not a hardware issue.
Cheers

This seems like it could be a common problem, I've posted a very similar request;-
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=18890
I do feel that this is a bug in the firmware, hopefully it will be fixed shortly.
I noticed this and it really irritated me. Solution - and it works every time - is a hard reset which you interrupt with a soft reset BEFORE the O2 software is installed. On the soft reset, the XDA2i becomes a unit that connects to GPRS every time which hasn't got the O2 customisation.
I use it with Smartner's push email solution. An excellent piece of software. See www.smartner.com
I don't think its the o2 customisation as I've removed this by disabling the Today screen items and then using the remove software option.
Another item that I find annoying is the screen rotation icon, it randomly disappears, I'm not sure if this is related, soft reset corrects this problem.
Trust me, it is the O2 customisation. I've done three hard resets (just testing various software options) and it works a treat. Beat the O2 crap and it's a perfect phone.
Based on previous suggestions I've carried a a cold reset and then a soft reset prior to the o2 installation, I now have a core XDA IIi without o2 modifications.
Unfortunately this does not solve the GPRS problems when connecting power etc, however it does seem to have improved. The camera is now more buggie...
As this is an intermitent problem I really think it is a firmware bug, abnd have logged it with o2, they are looking into it.
Didn't think it would....there's no reason for o2 to provide that "functionality"...just sounds more like an issue with OS interpreting a charger / car cradle and confusing the hell out of itself.
Ant
spoke to o2 this morning and its something they are looking with htc so a rom update COULD be on the cards for uk customers the problem is on there issue list atleast
I've had a response back from o2 regarding this issue, they said they had tried to reproduce the problem but couldn't, which didn't surprise me but they then suggested that I carry out a Corporate installation ie cold reset and then the corporate install.
Firstly you end up with an XDA IIi with all the applications installed but none of the o2 customisation, but you do manually have to configure the GPRS access point and email.
Having tried this configuration for a day now I must admit, things appear to have improved, the connection is still disconnected when attaching devices, but they reconnect without problems. Before I had to either reset the device or switch in and out of flight mode.
Knowing my luck this will all change tomorrow....
please keep us posted as to how it works without all the o2 crap on there
Thanks
Jonh
I am using a Qtek 9000 and have 4 pop mail boxes configured + the SMS, MMS, and A/S (which I don;t sync with desktop). Every now & then the pop boxes would vanish, and if I tried to set them up again using the same name, system would say name in use, but the mail boxes are no where to be found (except they show up in the PMail DB). I have done hard reset and this has happened again. Anyone know what may be causing this behavior?
I am running similar setup on a 9100 and honestly do not see the same amount of instability as well as rapid memory leak as I am experiencing on the 9000.
Delivered mine back today.
Forgot Mail, Gprs user/pass, Wlan settings on almost every soft reset.
Upgraded to the JasJar rom, diden't help.
The same as you with the mail name "Already in use".
I've the same experience and hope anybody can help me to delete those "Ghost Email A/C"! Thanks!!
this might help
this might help corrupt db

Thanks but still can't help and the "Ghost mai a/c" still exists!
i bought 4 qtek 9000
i have the same problem with email on all of them: on soft reset all mailboxex disappear. i can make them again, no error message but at the next soft reset .... it's happening again.
cleanmail.exe didn't work
PLEASE, HELP MEEEE
Got my Qtek 9000 back from service.
They installed a new Motherboard, and no info has gone missing yet (crossing my fingers here), hope it stays that way.
Hi Everyone
Got a Wizard (badged as an O2 XDA MINI-S) about 4 weeks ago but having nothing but problems with the phone functionality.
The problem:
The phone will loose connection to the O2 network. I could be in the middle of a phone conversation for 3 mins or so and it will act like it has lost reception. I look at the screen - it shows the call still connected and the signal strength shows full. Then the screen will say disconnected and the signal strength will drop to nothing yet the GPRS indicator will still be there. I either have to reset the phone or switch the phone to flight mode and back out of flight mode! This problem occurs if i make calls or recieve them.
I bought the phone on the standard ROM from O2 then upgraded it to the ROM version 2.21.4.101 which gave me the push functionality AUTD. I didn't use the phone long enough to tell if this problem occured after the ROM update.
Thanks to Faria and Machinagod's postings on here i was able to CID unlock the wizard to try a different ROM to see if that cured the problem. So i put the IMATE K-JAM ROM version 2.16.9.1 on yesterday, didn't add anything else on it, still the same problem!!
Any ideas anyone? i'm pulling my hair out now!!
First i would try cleaning the sim contacts, both on the sim and device. Sometimes faulty contacts lead to this problem. (poss faulty sim - have you another sim you can try?)
Next i would contact o2 to check there is no fault at their end e.g. faulty transmitter, computer systems.
If none of these solve the problem then its prob a faulty radio on your device and i would exchange for a new one.

Do you have a SD card inserted ?
If so remove it for the day and see if the problems persist.
Thanks for the suggestions guys.
The SIM card works fine in other phones (i've not had this one for long!) so i hope thats not the problem but i'll give it a shot. I'll try getting rid of all the contacts etc on the sim and phone and see what that does.
SD card - yes i have one inserted now but the problem was still happening when i didn't have one in there.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks for your help so far

heheh i think he means the actual contacts on the SIM! you know the metal bit of the SIM that makes contacts with the pins inside the phone!
not your phone book contacts!
HAHAHA LOL Stupid me!!!
lol thanks for pointing that out.
right - that didn't work anyone else have any ideas what could be causing this?

I am having the exactly same problem.
I am going to request a new SIM card from O2 as I think it is due to the SIM. Will let you know my result.

Exchange your phone - maybe a faulty radio in your phone. You could try a new sim but as you said you've tried it in other phones and they are ok.
Darklondon - thanks very much i'd appreciate the feedback!
Meschle - i've got to say i think i agree the phone has a problem! i just hope that if darklondon manages to resolve his issue with a sim card mine will work with the same resolve.
I also have this problem. Im on the T-Mobile network in the netherlands. When it cuts off you can see that there is no more radio contact (there is a cross on top). It then resets the radio and gets back. Within 10 seconds of the cut off i can be called and call back????
it's been a month since my last reply and I havenot yet change my SIM yet
however, i think i found the problem, at least, i think so.
the constantly cut off issue, for me, it's due to the overclocking. initially i overclocked my CPU to 264, which brought the instability to kill the "phone" program constantly. if you have any task manager try to kill a "phone" program, and you will see the signal bar goes off completely.
so, i changed my overclocking to 242. problem solved, no more cut off now.
wow really?! but i'm not overclocking .... mayube i should! i don't see the phone program in task manager?
I can see the "phone" program or say thread with SmallMenuPlus and vBar. And sometimes I can see more than one.
hm, I don't see a "phone" process with Memaid, but I'll try the reducing of overclocking too, since I have the same problem. 240 is the nearest option to 242 though in my omapclock...

I've found that this problem occurs using many of the AKU2 ROMS out there along with an application that requests a GPRS connection on a very frequent basis (GoodLink for me, MSFP, Agile Messenger for others).
The problem is that the application requests a GPRS connection, and for some reason the device decides to drop the call in order to connect.
For myself, this started happening after upgrading from a 2.17 summiter ROM, and continues regardless of what ROM post 2.17 I use. I've also tried flashing many different Radio ROMS, all to no effect.
I've been back to 1.8, and that's solved the problem. I'm now using a 2.17 ROM that I flashed today to see if the problem persists there.
This isn't an overclocking problem - as I never overclock.
I have a AKU2 ROM installed, though I never use GPRS (way too expensive here). So that can't really be it I guess...
We are using an Intellisync server setup at work and we have around 15 SPV M3100 devices on this server.
The problem seems to be that once the device has lost signal or been static for a period of time then the server sees the device as not 'active' which means push email stops working, the device will look like it has full signal and everything is fine. Orange third line support have looked into this problem and they do reckon its not their network. I tend to agree due to the fact we have a M600 acting fine on the same server.
Orange can offer no more advice and say we have to wait for HTC to send software updates.......
I have upgraded one of the M3100 to radio stack 1.16.0.0 but after testing last night this does not seem to have made a difference.
Can anyone advise on a rom upgrade that may solve these issues as I am starting to loose hair over this one (and I aint got that much to start with)........
Cheers

Intellisync and Orangemail on SPV m3100
Not sure our two issues are related but I've been using Intellisync Mobile suite for quite a long time but since I moved to the SPV m3100 the Readsync no longer works.
I have used MEMAID to understand what was going on.
I have found that there is may be a conflict with Orangemail. I've tried to remove all the obvious reference to that app in the start up program, Start Up services etc but after a period of time the icon shows up again in the today screen.
I suspect there might be something going there ??
Anybody knowledgeable on this topic??
Hi folks,
I have just got myself an HTC TyTN and found this forum. I have been reading it for
a couple of days and managed to update the ROM on my phone to the latest HTC WWE version
on the wiki.
Loving the phone so far but I cannot get BlackBerry Connect to work.
I am running BlackBerry Connect 2.1.2.54 and using my UK O2 3G SIM which was previously
working great for BBConnect on my Nokia E61, so I know I am OK from the network side of things.
BBConnect installs OK, gives me a PIN OK, but when it tries to connect I get:
"Network Available" followed by
"Data Tunnel Available" followed by
"Not Connected"
I should mention that I am only using BlackBerry Internet Service, not the full-blown
BlackBerry Enterprise Service, so I have not installed the desktop part of the software,
only the client for the mobile.
I even tried to downgrade the ROM to the 1.35 version last night but the 1.35 updater
refused to let me.
Has *anyone* got BBConnect to work on the latest shipping ROM? Anyone have any details
about upcoming new versions of the BBConnect s/w?
Reg hacks?
I would be very grateful for any advice, will post back results.
Thanks,
Charlie.
PS: Is there any way to turn off the green flashing network status LED? It drives me crazy
PPS: If nothing will get BBConnect to work, anyone know of another solution to get my POP3
Yahoo mail pushed to my phone (I am UK based if that matters)?
I would appreciate some help with this same problem, but on Cingular USA.
New 8525, updated AT&T ROM, Cingular's Blackberry Personal data plan.
I was told by RIM they don't support Cingular and 8525, but I see many
users in this forum do have it working.
Have tried various version of BB Connect on my 8525, but they
all point to a blackberry.net IP address that ends in .189.
Some threads say it needs to be .192 for USA - is that my problem?
Thanks for your help !
I had Blackberry working fine on a T-Mobile Vario II, but last month that went back faulty (the dreaded lock-ups) and was replaced with a new unit.
I was unable to connect to Blackberry, getting the same response as Charlie. After much investigation TM were about to exchange the handset again when I received a call from TM saying that there was a known problem with a certain range of IMEI numbers on new handsets that were not able to connect with Blackberry. After checking we found that the IMEI of this new handset fell within the affected range.
I was told that it was a Blackberry problem, and that TM were expecting RIM to issue an update or patch to cure the problem. I decided then to remove the blackberry from my account and use other methods, so haven't pursued it.
So it seems there is a known problem with some HTC handsets, but as usual there's little being done about it!
bbc does not work with the new rom. to roll back, use the sdcard upgrade method in the wiki under rom updating for beginners.
this will take you back to 1.34..... sux.
wes
Can anyone else confirm that Blackberry Connect requires the original ROM?
As the previous poster said, that would sux.
Has anyone else been able to get the following to work?
1. Cingular US
2. Blackberry Connect Client (ver 2.1, not 4.0?) loaded onto 8525, running WM5
3. Get Client to generate a PIM
4. Use "Change Handheld" option on mycingular website to enter the new IMEI and PIN
5. Sucessfully access BIS
Please let me know which version of the 8525 ROM and BB Connect you used.
Thanks for your help!
Here's my setup:
1) Cingular 8525 SIM/CID unlocked (HardSPL 7)
2) Elf's 2.1 Crackberry ROM (WM6) - very nice stable build.
3) BBConnect 4.0.0.67 CAB
4) Cingular Blackberry Tethered Unlimited (both BIS and BES enabled)
Make sure you have a data connection working first.
BBConnect will issue you PIN after you click the Register button - you can see this in the BB Connect utility on your handheld.
You can then use this PIN and your phone IMEI on Cingular's BB site:
http://mycingular.blackberry.com/
Don't forget to download the Service books.
If your company has Outlook Web access for Exchange Server you can avoid BES.
BBConnect only allows 3 email boxes on a non-BB device.
Everything works fine except that the BB Service hogs the wireless connection so that I sometimes have problems with other services require internet connection.
Toss that Cingular ROM (even the latest 2.15 update) - it's worthless and a real headache - very unstable
I'm getting ready to install this, can you explain this comment:
If your company has Outlook Web access for Exchange Server you can avoid BES.
