My touch screen is malfunctioning... - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

A few weeks ago I noticed the center of my touch screen no longer functions. To make sure, I put on Solitaire and tried dragging a card over the dead spot and sure enough, the card would skip over because it didn't sense any touch till I moved over the dead spot. It's become a problem now with fixing the alarm clock, pressing buttons on my Today screen, and pressing 3 & 6 on the dial pad.
I got the phone in February, I hope this is covered in the warranty. For the hell of it I talked to a Cingular rep and she said they can't do anything about it and I have to call the manufacturer.
The HTC site doesn't really tell how to call in for support besides dialing up Cingular. Does HTC have a tech support line or should I just call the HTC USA, inc # on their page?
If there's a chance they'll take it, I better put back the stock Cingular ROM right?

k-jam Touch Screen death imminent

Typical as typical can be, my k-jam which was registered on I-Mates site on 5th October 2005 (so out of warranty by 11 days! )
Basically the problem has been is that any pressure to the bottom left/right side of the screen causes the display to go mental. soon after this i've noticed the touch screen becoming less and less responsive, and am now at a point where to get touch screen to work i have to apply pressure to the bottom left area just under the screen. or open the slide out, which seems to apply some pressure which is apparently needed.
Is there anything i can do myself to sort this? any advice in general?
i'm awaiting to hear back from the UK service center, but i-mate have told me that it is entirely at the descretion of the service center wether they would do an out of warranty repair or not. nothing imate could/would do. which is hard to beleive and also dissapointing.
kinda wished i got a qtek now
bump anyone?
I had this and it was just a bit of grit stuck under the bezel stopping the screen from functioning properly and it was randomly selecting things.

Samsung I760 Screen Problems

I originally bought a samsung sch-i760 and had screen alignment problems, No matter how many times i tried to align the screen it would not work. Sometimes i could not get out of the alignment program so i just started seeing where it was clicking on the screen, Turns out it was 1cm off on the right side of the screen when it was in portrait mode. So i returned it and the second one did it a couple days later in the same spot. So i returned that and got a xv6800 and its been great. How ever there is a spot on the bottom left of the screen that when on a white area is brighter than the other areas on the screen. Lol where are they making these CHEAP screens? I was just wondering who else is having either one of these problems thanks!

Definitely agree with the comment on cheap screens. I have had an i700, i730 and i760. What product manager released the screen on the i760 for production? I too had the same problem with 2 different copies of the i760. Samsung was on a roll until they released this phone with a substandard screen. The first thing that I noticed was the soft touch of the screen. It required too much pressure to achieve a good contact. I then noticed that periodically would not accept inputs for short durations. Then the screen calibration became very evident across the bottom scribing area of the screen. Especially when you tried to select settings from the start menu and always go the help utility. After attempting to align out the error in the screen, I concluded the device was faulty and traded it in for another faulty device. Verizon claims that this was coincidental and they have not heard of this problem before. I now have the XV6800 also. Unfortunaltely whether it's called a Mogul or a Titan, it still locks up when an alert with vibrate is announced which requires a reboot to cancel the alert. I have a relative with the Mogul and I have the Titan. My first impression of the HTC Titan is that it is a cheaper product than the Samsung i760. The applications are cheaper, the audio voice recognition is definitely a much lower end package and the the volume is not acceptable for speaker phone or earphone. I have had the phone 1 day and already had to do a low level manual reset of the phone because a "Cold Boot" would not allow verizon to authenticate the phone after a hard lockup and a "Cold Boot". Oh well....... Still searching for the ideal PDA Phone in a windows envirnonment. They next generation manufacturer had better add alot more base memory as well for resident programs.

The manifestation is the alert triggers the vibrator but it runs continuously and never shuts off and will not accept any inputs. I have a relative with the Mogul(Sprint). He reported this same problem has occurred several times. I have the Titan(Verizon). My first impression of the HTC Titan is that it is a cheaper product than the Samsung i760. i760 Screen Calib. Loop
Experiencing the same calib. loop issue as everyone else who's posted above. Might be in the wrong thread here, but does anyone have the .cab file on hand to resolve the loop issue?

[Q] Screen does not respond to touch after lockscreen

Recently my touch screen does not work once my lockscreen comes on. I can't figure out if it a hardware issue or software issue. If you had similar problem let me know if there a solution to fixing this.
I drop my phone a few months back and crack the bottom of the screen near the end button, so i can't send it in for warranty purpose.
I am having the same problem with one of my HD2's and T-Mobile never got back to me. I contacted HTC and they suggested sending it in for repair.

Defective touch screen?

I had my evo's (003) touch screen die where the main screen didnt light up but the buttons did. I couldnt see anything on the phone but it did work and I could make calls with bluetooth etc.. SO, I took the phone into the store and they replaced the entire screen which includes the front buttons and side volume rocker etc.
HOWEVER, now the bottom buttons (home, back etc) do not work. Has anyone had this issue? Im taking it back for them to put ANOTHER screen on.. I did find this video of almost the same issue I am having:
Im wondering if other had this issue and if there might be a bad batch of replacement panels... The service tech told me I needed to hard reset to get the buttons working and I did and same issue....
Thanks....
I have had that happen before even white spots on screen and where it became unresponsive to touch locked up. Had it swapped out and the new one had the screen coming apart. Then the next one wasn't glued on right windex got on the lcd. Got my phone from Asurion and they sent me one with glue all over messed up charger port and the screen had 15 lines running str8 down the center.
I have no idea why but I believe there is a bad batch of panels still running around. Now I have a brand new 0004 evo Asurion gave me after I called and talked to them takes awhile to get through to someone. But worth the 100.
Sprint store always gave me refurbs with big issues always such as screen issues and broken volume button and camera issues.

Moto X Pure Touchscreen problem

Hi there.
After one month, the phone starts to tap himself in the bottom of the touchscreen. It happens on safe mode and even in TWRP so I think it's a physical problem.
I've recorded a video showing the issue:
youtube dot com watch?v=7wYU-IhQaKQ (cannot post links yet)
Anyone with a similar problem? I cannot change it since I bought it in USA during a travel, I'm from Chile.
i got one that the same part of the touch screen stopped working. i think you should consider sending it back in some way
Mine also not working bottom part of phone
Soft keys not working
On my moto x style the Back, Home and Multitasking Bottons are Not working but in locked state I can use mic, unlock and camera button. All other area on display the touch is sensed and works but on the soft buttons area the touch is not sensed and the buttons are not working. I cannot use my mobile because of this. All it started with ghost touch, then multitask button got unresponsive.
I called to Motorola support. They advised me to FDR. Even after this I m not getting the buttons to work. So now they have advised me to return the device at repair center.
khagolsan, what was your resolution to this? I am having the same problem.

I tried unwillingly resetting the phone 2 times (once soft reset and once hard reset) as instructed by the call center expert ( ) of motorola but nothing worked. I also lost valuable call logs and SMS in doing this .
Then they suggested me to visit service center. The service center person diagnosed it as a display problem and kept the handset for 10 days for display replacement. A week back only I got it replaced free of cost, since handset was in warranty .
Now I am using it, let's hope now it will not have any problem.
