Hello!
I try to debug some program on Qtek 8310 with IDA 4.9 Adv+IDA ARM debuger plugin from IDA 5.
My device is sofware unlocked:
1)HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies\00001001 = 2 => 1
2)SDA_Unlock.exe
3)HKLM\init\BootVars\RequireCertMod = 1 => 0
4)HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies\00001005 = 16 => 40 (RAPI)
5)HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies\00001017 = 16 => ??? (CERT)
When I start debuging in IDA, plugin being to run om smartphone, activesync conection go down and ida show message - irs_recv:An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host
What I do worth?
Same problem. May be ActiveSync problem? I am using 4.1
BTW, there is already post with same problem: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=48886
I've enabled RAPI, full unlocked - by ActiveSync still crashing (AppName: wcesmgr.exe AppVer: 4.1.4841.0 ModName: wcesmgr.exe
ModVer: 4.1.4841.0 Offset: 00023ed6)

Hi,
I can't connect to the internet through my Qtek (via bluetooth)! Probably i do not have proper drivers for Mac OS X Panther (10.3.7). Help!

Earlyer I used mobile phone Nokia 6310i and everything work correctly.
Pleas help!
Best Regards and Thank You

p.s.
my computer info:
Machine Model: PowerBook G4 17"
CPU Type: PowerPC G4 (3.3)

CPU Speed: 1 GHz
L2 Cache (per CPU): 256 KB
L3 Cache (per CPU): 1 MB

on the pc you default can only do it while being connected to activesync
and let that handle it
i mean by default that the ms bluetooth stack on the xdaII dont support the PAN profile
you can solve it by using the vidcomm bluetooth stack you can find it if you do a search in the forum for vidcomm
THX
I try...
download
http://www.bluwireless.com/Widcomm14210.zip
...but I don't know it is right sollution for my problem.
Am I right. I have Macintosh only. :?
What shall I do with this software?
well if there is a cab file in the zip then you should install the cab file on your xda
eeeh
ok I try
I have only one file with cab extension "Data1.cab"
gl hf :?
NOT WORKING!!!
I surrender
when cab files are clicked on
on the xda then they autoinstall
Rom Version : 1.50f.blWWE
Is the rom correct?
Also ActiveSync 4.0 - MS Release does not allow the XDA to connect it detects it as Generic RNDIS (Prototype - Remember to Change IDVendor)
I did try to patch the nbf before flashing but the msg was cannot patch.
Please adivce as sync with IR is to slow
Storage 62 Mb
Program 56.34

Any Suggestions ??
Thanks
To successfully uninstall ActiveSync 4.0 and reinstall a previous version of ActiveSync on your desktop PC, perform the following procedure.
1. Uninstall ActiveSync 4.0.
2. Open File Explorer, navigate to the System32 directory in your Windows directory, and then manually delete the dynamic-link library Rapi.dll.
3. Reinstall the previous version of ActiveSync.
i did this and reinstalled 3.7.1 but it will only connect as a "GUEST" any ideas on how to fix this?
What's wrong with version 4.0?
Is there a reason you guys want to downgrade? I hope not, I just upgraded! :?
yeah there is areason for them to downgrade, as i said a while ago WIFI syncing does not work under ma 4, doh! microsoft!
Found here:

I have the same problem but rolling back to 3.8 wasnt possible. every time i try to uninstall 4.0 and install any older version 3.8, 3.7 etc. i cannot seem to open the Active Sync window. The little icon on the tray is there but duoble clicking / "right click open activesync" doesnt do anything.
So I'm stuck with 4.0 do to be able to sync at all.
Anyone figured out how to do wifi sync with 4.0 yet ?
Anyone rolled back without this problem ?
Same problem to me, so I go look the setup log and found this:

I copy from the other comp with AS 3.8 those file and it's working again. Here I attach those files. Just override the files. You must disable async from the running process first.
Use Safe Mode in Windows XP.
To extract from MSASYNC.EXE (AC3.8) use i.e.:
MSASYNC.EXE /T:C:\Temp /C
IT IS WORKING!
How to Un-install Active Sync 4.0
As well as all the stuff below (which I followed to the letter) I had a persistent problem when I down-graded from AS4 to AS3.8. It all worked fine, could sync and install/remove programs via USB, Bluetooth and wifi. What I could not do was browse my XDAIIi through Windows Explorer.
When I clicked on the "Mobile Device" icon in Explorer it would highlight it briefly then go back to the directory in had been using before I tried to select the XDA.
I have tracked the problem down to the USB driver installed by AS4 namely wceusbsh.sys which does not get overwritten by the older version in AS3.8.
Using XP, I did a search on wceusbsh.sys in Explorer with "Search Hidden Files" ticked and got 45 hits. There seem to be 3 versions of the file in my system:
4.0.4232.0 - this was installed by AS4 I presume
3.7.1.3244 - this was installed by both AS3.7 and 3.8
1.0.36764.0 - god knows where this came from - maybe an original when I installed XP
If you've down-graded from AS4 to AS3.7 or AS3.8 and the version of wceusbsh.sys in C:\WINDOWS\System32\Drivers folder is 4.0.4232.0 then you have a problem and it's also a pig to get rid of.
At first I tried using Device Mangler (Manager) to uninstall the 4.0.4232.0 dirver but as soon as I reloaded XP is got put back
Next I did an Update Driver > Select From List and manually selected the 3.7.1.3244 version but when I reloaded XP it was back at 4.0.4233.0 again - aaaaagh
In the end I had to
1. Take the XDA out of the cradle
2. completely uninstall Active Sync
3. restart XP
4. Manually delete all references to wceusbsh.sys that I could (you can't delete them all because some are in system directories and XP won't let you)
5. restart XP again - might not be necessary but I did it anyway
6. Re-install AS3.7
7. Upgrade to AS3.8
It now all works fine - even the explorer browse
BTW - i've just gone back into Device Mangler and checked the Driver details for the PocketPC USB Sync device and the Driver tab says the driver version is back at 4.0.4232.0, but if you click on the Driver Details it reports a version of 3.7.1.3244. XDA is still working fine though.
It's 3 o'clock in the morning, I give up and I'm starting to get that pain behind my eyes again... I hate Microsoft!
Angusmcintyre, that's some great sleuthing there bud.
Did you try using the good-old XP System Restore to roll back to your system state prior to the upgrade to AS4.0?
Codenix.
No too many other things have gone in since the upgrade to AS4.0 to make it worthwhile
Yes, that's often the case. It's a shame you can't be more selective with the restore points, but that's where 3rd-party uninstallers come in I suppose.
Thanks for sharing your findings - I was planning to upgrade to AS4.0 until I read all this, which would have sucked since I only just ordered a WiFi card

Hi,
I'm using ActiveSync 4.0 to try to sync my iMate K-Jam (WM 5) with my IBM T40p laptop. Each time it connects, I get up getting the Blue Screen of Death while trying to connect. I have successfully connected a WM 2003 device (iMate Jam) to my laptop with AS 4.0, but my WM 5 device will crash my computer all the time.
I'm using Windows XP SP2 and have ensured that the firewall is off and the Anti-virus is disabled. I have tried it on the same machine with Windows XP SP1 before I reformatted the HD and re-installed Windows XP(but this time with SP2). I can however get it to work on another machine but try as I might it will not work with my laptop.
I've dug up the logs for AS and attached them below. Any help would be greatly appreciated - this is driving me up the wall!!!!
Regards,
Rajesh
P.S. I've tried AS 4.1 but I still get the same results.

I have the same with a T30.. What i sthe code in he Blue page. Mine was 00000001
I am having to use Infra Red to sysnc on this my work laptop.
I had this problem too. Firstly are you running Anti-virus software? In particular one that contains a firewall, such as PC-cillin? If so try disabling it temporarily (at your own risk etc...) and see if this helps.
Also you might want to try the latest version of ActiveSync 4.1 (build 4807, I think), which seems to be better.

Tried disabling both the AV and firewall, but to no avail. I've tried AS 4.1 and that didn't help either.
I've got it syncing using Bluetooth, but still can't sync with USB!
Rajesh
There was a report over at HoFo about someone with this problem that fixed it by making sure they had all of the updates from MS installed. They posted that after going to the Windows Update site, it installed SP2, still crashed, went back to the update site, got some more and one fo the updates was some sort of USB update. After that the problem went away.
I suggest trying that and seeing if it fixes the problem. Remember you might have to do the update site more then once to make sure all of the udpates have been installed.
Good Luck
Make sure that your motherboard drivers are up to date - this solved my blue screen of death on my Nforce 3 system!
Cheers

IBM phantom tcp port management?
I too have an IBM that will NOT work with ActiveSync 4.x. I am convinced it is some phantom TCP Port network management issue.
I can only sync via IR, but ActiveSync 3.x worked fine b/c it did not use the TCP/IP stack as does ActiveSync 4.x!!! I also cannot use network management tools that employ high unassigned TCP ports...just like ActiveSync's TCP 26675!
Coincidence...I think not!
FYI, I installed 4.x on my HP laptop...works fine with my QTEX 9100.
Ideas?

I have been trying to get the new demo version of IDA to connect to my WM5 Qtek S200 with no luck.
When I click on attach it sends across wince_remote_arm.dll
then I get cannot invoke server.
If I add the reg key in HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies then it will connect and immediatly kill the ActiveSync connection and I have to unplug/replug in the USB cable. It also displays the following message.
irs_recv:An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.
I can however debug .net apps and do the usual active sync transfer files etc.
Anyone have any thoughts on what to try?
Thanks
Pete
I think you have to enable RAPI, there is a cab for it on the forums or on the FTP, search for it, I think it is enable_rapi.cab.
^^ exactly... just run it on the device and it will connect
I have tried the above cab file and unfortunately still no luck.
It still dies when connecting, and the green activesync icon changes to grey and the "irs_recv:An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host." messagebox is displayed.
Strangely I can get it to connect to and debug the emulator.
Anyone have any other suggestions.
Thanks
Pete
I use full version of IDA (you can find it on chinese warez sites), ARM debugger extracted from demo version of IDA, cert.SPCS.cab, EnableRapi.cab, and HKLM\Init\RequireCertMods=0.
IDA connects and works.

Solution is 2 posts upper.
I tried... Installed cert_SPCS.cab, EnableRapi.cab changed registry value but always same message
can you give me your security policies values under
HKLM/Security/Policies/Policies/
Thanks in advance.
I'm trying to run the IDA debugger on a Cingular 8125. It gives me the exact same error.
I have these values in the registry:
HKLM/init/BootVars/RequireCertMod = 0
HKLM/Security/Policies/Policies/00001001 = 1
HKLM/Security/Policies/Policies/00001005 = 40
HKLM/Security/Policies/Policies/00001017 = 144
I've installed EnableRapi.cab and Cert_SPCS.cab, but it still doesn't work.
Has anyone found a solution for this?
Same for me
I did all the same actions but it still doesn't work
Anyone?????
I think the problem is a result of some incompatibility of ida's debugger dll under OMAP 850 cpu...Therefore I use m$ deviceemulator which is VERY slow.
I had problems aswell with my devices... And after this last post.. i tried a WM device without a OMAP 850.. And it worked fine for me... on every OMAP850 device i tried .. i get the same error as you guys have reported..
So I must agree with george that OMAP850 is the problem
sashje, the problem is in IDA debugger's CPU detection routines. I've even reported this to IDA "support" but they paid no attention to my words.
Datarescue
you must download CE Debugger for windows ce if have it you must test another version of it you can download directly from datarescue
accepted, as far as I know even the latest versions of IDA 5 are bundled with an old ARM remote debugger dated from 2005...I bet that presently there is no such working version with OMAP CPU, but I would take my words back if only you could have pointed out the links for the downloads you meant.
if u changed your WM to unofficial WM
if u have any problem with pointers and breakpoints
if u have any connection error
you should test another version of CE Debugger On IDA PRO 5(my current version)
i have this problem with my device(Axim X30)
i changed CE debugger and work truth now
if you want some version of CE debugger i can give u
please use private messages
thanks

accepted, your axim has Intel PXA270 (at 624MHz). We are speaking about Texas Instruments OMAP CPU problems lately here - so your remarks are quite incompetent. There is no version of this arm ida remote debugger dll that can work with OMAP CPU. If you have one (I'm sure you don't) please share it with all of us.
Texas Instruments
oh man i am sorry
i don't read carefully
IDA PRO do not support OMAP and only support ARm version
only support ARM(CE debugger)
sorry again
