Hi all
Looking to get a card for my trinity but am confused by the different speeds available (66x 80x ultra II) can any one point me in the correct direction also htc say that it supports 4gb mini's is this a new feature of the upgraded rom that they are posting or has it always supported 4Gb.
Thanks
Robert
been looking here http://www.mobymemory.com/P3600-memory-cards.asp
so I looked up some info and found in PDAdb that the dopod 700 is listed with 64mb ROM capacity, while xda iis has 96mb
is this true? where do we check how much ram capacity our device has anyways?? is it the "program memory" we can find in the Settings->system->memory??
sorry for the noob question...
I've looked around at pictures of the g2, and some of them are not the same. I've also read a little bit that different carriers offer different amounts of ram. Perhaps someone can tell me if I'm reading wrong, or if there're really multiple versions of the g2. Aside from that, if there is more than one version, which one is the best?

Its because there is no G2. There are multiple android Devices... But a search for G2 pulls you up a bunch of rumors and nothing legit. If on TMO there is the G1 and soon will be the Mytouch this is not the G2 as everyone calls it.
As noted there is not G2, but there are two differently speced HTC Magics
HTC - Products - HTC Magic - Specification
And the one that TMobile is/will be selling
and Rodgers (RAM: 288 MB, HSDPA/UMTS dual-band (850 and 1900MHZ )
and ION (RAM: 196Mb, 1700mhz/2100mhz (WCDMA))
it seems I'm getting the gsm/gprs version. Does this mean it's the 288 version?

I have a Google ION and I have 288MB of RAM, not the 196 as you have quoted.

can you print out the output of "cat /proc/meminfo" from adb shell please.
If you are using useful switchers to get that info, thats showing the size of the flash not RAM.

No you do not have 288MB of RAM in your Google Ion.
I have a Google Ion as well and it only has 192MB of RAM (98908 kB after boot).
What you are seeing when checking SD card & phone storage is the ROM.
Ok guys, I stand corrected...Android / Linux thing is new to me, and sort of confusing.
Thanks for the clarification and leads to a question, how do I get to issue these commands ADB PUSH many more have been used on this forum, to my ION from a mac?
As easy as I can explain.
There are HTC branded versions such as the Rogers, Nordic, TIM, etc
There are Google branded versions like Vodafone.
Also thanks for pointing out that there is no such thing as a G2. There is the Google Ion and the HTC Magic and the Tmobile MyTouch 3G is just a rebranded Google Ion.
To answer your question, you use boot camp to shrink your HFS+ partition and create say 32gb free for Ubuntu and then google how to install Ubuntu on your mac. It works on any Intel Mac including unibody like mine.
I have one from Proximus (my employer), an operator from Belgium and partner of Vodafone.... the magic is fully "googled" but also has 288 RAM, exchange support and quickoffice on it...
Back of the cover has the "htc" logo instead of the "google" logo
cheers

Can anybody explain the difference between Niki100 200 300 400 500 and Neon 100 200 300 400?
Which one(s) has wifi and 16-key?
Thanks.
No one has WiFi and the number mostly shows from which Provider (or country) the model comes!
E.g. Niki100 is a HTC one, the T-Mobile GER Niki is a Niki200 with 16 keys keyboard and the Niki300 is o2 GER one with 20 keys keyboard! As far as I know, the Neon400 is sold by Telus Canada and has GPS and another Chipset with 528 MHz and cannot be used with UMTS (WCDMA) bands!
Just to clarify you a bit!
Thank u a lot for ur reply
However, I have seen on wikipedia that the NEON100 has both wifi and gps. And I am confused about this.
In what Wiki did you read this?

Here~
In Australia, we get the NEON 200 (also known as the P5530).

your ram is already unlocked. unlocking ram is for regular hd2 only, not tmous. you have 576 of which 448 useable, regular hd2 has 448 of which 320 useable until it gets unlocked.
