[Q] EU user needs info for TMOUS devices

Hello everyone
Here's what I know about the differences between the EU and US models of the HD2:
It's 1.5mm taller.
It's branded to AT&T.
It's got 1024MB ROM.
So what's stopping me from buying one and using it in the UK? Are there hardware limitations, like for example the baseband not working in my country?
I suppose if this device was any better than the EU version then we'd all be desperate to have one but i've never known of anyone who wanted one...
Views/thoughts/opinions welcome...
Dan
It's branded "T-Mobile" btw
It's 3g frequency operates on 1700 and 2100. Unless your carrier works on 1700 or 2100, you won't get 3g.
The reason as to why people want it, is that it has a lot of internal storage. Especially in android it is most appreciative for it eliminates the need for someone to partition their sd card to expand the amount of apps one can install to their phone.
Cheers, not much point then with A2SD.

If you by. a new one from T-Mobile it comes with a 16 GB SD card. Now. if you are going to by one from e-bay or criegslist just make sure the seller is not going to keep the 16GB SD card. you could probably find another SD card for fairly good price to if you search the web, but make sure it is a repuable site that you buy it from cause there is some sites out there selling bad and bogus ones.
Hi,
I've been using a TMOUS HD2 for nearly a year in the UK now and have had no problems at all.... To be honest, I find that the US model is great for flashing some of the newer DesireHD NAND roms, as they don't leave much space for apps on the euro version, and not all apps support a2sd.... if you get the chance, go for it,, i'm very happy!

[Q] Mini PCI-E exploitation

I was thinking how other carriers 3G mini PCI-E might be able to be used. I happen to have a huawei card from tmobile that I pulled from a dell and was thinking it would be cool to install. Anyone more familier with the tech have anything to comment on this possibility?
Just wanted to start a new threads and system said: "Hey, there is one already"
So this question is actual for me too. Are there any thoughts on how could we use this mini-PCI slot? Looking forward to be able to insert a 3g card there... Could it be possible? Thanks
Why limit ourselves to connectivity cards? How about using the mini-PCI-E slot for a TV tuner?
Better yet more internal storage via mini pcie ssd cards
Hey guys,
There is a discussion here https://supportforums.motorola.com/message/334262

[Q] SM-G900H (Exynos) users - Do any 64GB cards work for you?

I have the SM-G900H (Exynos) version and find my SD card unmounting and generally having problems.
Sometimes the card shows as empty w/ ES File Explorer
Sometimes it just spins in ES File Explorer
Sometimes Application Settings crashes.
Almost every time I put the card back into my PC it says that it needs to "Scan and Correct Errors."
This is my 3rd S5 (AT&T & T-Mobile versions) and didn't see this with the SnapDragon versions.
It failed with the SanDisck 64GB Extreme so I went out and bought the 64GB SanDisk Extreme plus. The problem occurs with both UHS-I cards (for me).
Interestingly, an old 8GB microSD card (not SDXC) works fine with this phone and has never had an issue.
Could it be a octacore problem or maybe I just have a bad card reader in this unit?
WHICH SD CARD ARE YOU USING IN YOUR G900H (Exynos) PHONE? And are you rooted or not?
Mine is rooted and with PlilZ recovery, same situation with a 32Gb Extreme, not with an Ultra same capacity, with Extreme is the same as yours.

WOW! So, maybe there is a bug with the OS? Does Samsung know about this?
>> Yours is also the G900H?
The problem for me with the Ultra (in the G900A and G900T) was that I couldn't shoot videos or use the 'Shots and More' mode because it would say that the memory was too slow and that it was switching over to the main storage. A single photo was fine but not something that needed more speed.
Samsung India (online support) - no known issue
I just finished with an online support chat with Samsung support in India and the guy that I chatted with said there is no known compatibility issue for my phone (SM-G900H) and the SanDisk Extreme. He recommends that I bring it into the support center.
Maybe someone else with a SM-G900H can confirm that a SanDisk Extreme microSDXC is working in their phone?
Yes, mine is a SM-G900H.

Thanks for your response but I was asking about the octacore (Exynos) G900H version.
The Korean G900L version is still a quadcore Snapdragon processor and that one worked fine for me as well with the SanDisk Extreme line of memory cards. I knew right away because the Exynos doesn't have LTE ASFAIK.
Still no one has tried these memory cards with the octacore G900H?

>> I assume that you needed to reformat it with FAT32 and weren't able to use it straight out of the box with exFAT?
It is good to know that the slower 'Ultra' and 'Ultra Plus' work with the 900H but I still haven't heard of anyone who can confirm that the faster 'Extreme' and 'Extreme Plus' are working with the 900H.
I did return mine and another one went into the mail today so I'll hopefully know by Wednesday if the 'Extreme Plus' is working with the 900H.
I can confirm that the 64GB SanDisk Extreme does work with the 900A Snapdragon version.

Yes, I use my my 900H with AT&T.
No, the Exynos does not have LTE -- HSPDA+ is the best but it works.

Sd card transfer speed problem

Previously, I bought a silicon power 64gb U1 and the speed were like read:20 and write: 6. After looking at this forum, I bought the SanDisk 32gb U3 card from Canada, but that is not fast at all. I can't even transfer apps on the card they became too slow. My speed test from A1 with my card mount as internal give me read:23 and write:6. Almost the same speed of my U1 card. What I do wrong? Is that the x play that is limited?
And sorry for my English. That's not my first language.
Thank you in advance for answers.

Anyone know if Moto Z Force supports UHS-II micro SD cards?

I've been searching for an answer, but it's nowhere to be found. Anyone have an answer?
TIA,
Bob
Yes. I have a U3 in mine.
Too bad a 200gb isn't available in uhs3

the physical cards fit but I want to know if the extra pins are actually put to use to get the speeds the cards are rated for. backwards compatibility and software overhead make this hard to find out. lol

No it does not have the extra pins for U3 speeds.
As far as I could research there could be some benefit but not to the fastest speeds.
I've just purchased the sandisk 200gb extreme UHS1. I find it's fast enough to transfer files to and also save to for video recordings at full hd (although I'm yet to try 4k). It seems more than fast enough for my needs, I'm also constantly transferring between SD card and Internal. Just thought OP may wanna know as I was also trying to find this answer previously as I really wanted to use a UHS 3 card.

Thanks for the info. From what I've read, U3 should be supported by the Moto Z, however U3 is not the same as UHS 3. Actually, I've yet to see any UHS 3 cards... the newest is only UHS II. Apparently, the U1 and U3 have to do with the write speed supported by the card. U1 is a minumum of 10 MB/s , U3 is a minimum of 30 MB/s. Both are denoted on the UHS-I cards and also on some UHS-II cards, however UHS-II cards are also supposed to have a different "v" speed rating.

Learn something new everyday. Thought it was the same thing. U1 is what I have, is what I meant.
