RF Difference between PW10A1 and PW10B1 ? - MDA, XDA, 1010 Software Upgrading

Did anyone ever figured out what is actually hardware difference between 900/1800 and 900/1900 Wallybays ? Could anyone post picture of PW10B1 motherboard, so I could compare it with my PW10A1, maybe that way I could have some clues.
For example, I know that difference between european siemens a55 and american siemens a56 is only in rf fliter which is easily replaceable. I would like to see if I can do similar thing on my o2 xda and convert it to sx56.

i want the t-mobile radio stack 6.25.02 to see if i get any better signal from it. does anyone have it? post it please! thanx
here it is ... be very careful ... RSU flashing is veryyyy risky!!
thanx a lot! i just tried the 6.24.00 from yorch's site and it went well, tho no diff in signal strength heh
does this radio stack is possible for 1010 xda1? im quite unhappy in my low signal in my XDA PW10Ai

It is designed for the XDA I, BUT it is only for PW10B-Models with 900/1900 MHz. Flashing onto an PW10A will cause ending this device as paper weight....
Stefan
so what radio stack will you recommend for me lumfistefan? quite low signal even I downgraded to 3.25

Japan Useage

Does anyone know for certain if the M600/Prophet will work in Japan?
Looking at the Orange international useage it says the M600 won't workbecause you need a quad band phone...I thought the M600 was quad band so why won't it work?
Does anyone also know if you can buy a pay as you go SIM for use while in Japan?
As far as I know Japan use a totally different protocol for their mobile phone. Most of the phone will not work (tri and quad). Unless, I think there are some company there supports GSM phone which works on 'normal' GSM phone, but I think these GSM phone companies are not that popular in Japan.
You need to check the telco company on this matter.. or post at a forum where people may have been to japan ... OH.. here is a good forum (I'm so lame)
Anyway, try asking Asukal on this matter.

two xperia's infront of me :)

In a last-ditch attempt to get one garanteed delivery before the weekend, I ordered two xperia's, one from the UK and one from a US reseller (selling european X1i's nonetheless).
My question is this: my 3g band isn't supported (rogers) and I was wondering if the US version will use the same radio chip and what are the possibilities of getting an update which will enable this additional band (US1?)?
Thanks!

Read this a couple of times, was a tad confused!
Are you in the UK or US ?
Which version of the X1 does not have 3G? or are you saying you don't get 3G signal where you are?
Who is Roger?

Answered several times already. The X1i does not have 850MHz UMTS. No one has managed to get a radio ROM on any HTC device to bring over the UMTS frequencies.
If you want it to work on 850 you'll need the X1a

so x1a rom on an x1i will not work to enable UMTS 850?? are there any links to x1a roms? I thought it wasn't even released yet...
Had this same problem with an omnia AND an n96 now its starting to get to me with the xperia since I really wanted this phone ;\
The OS rom has nothing to with the radio. It may add some options to radio settings, but it does not change the radio itself. The only practical difference is it may or may not make WM faster.
You can flash an X1a radio rom onto an X1i, but it still will not enable UMTS 850. The two radios are physically different (whether it's the microcode or the whole chip), and cannot be changed via software/rom flash. So many people have been trying with the Diamond, Raphael, etc, all unsuccessful; no reason to believe it will be any different with the X1. The only practical difference is it may or may not improve battery life and/or reception.
The X1a is the only one with a UMTS 850-capable radio chip, so if you need UMTS 850 your only option is the X1a.

Ok, so its a different radio chip... I remember the omnia i900 and i907 had identical radio chips as per specs but the former had the 850 disabled. Was hoping sony made the hardware identical and only differed on the radio rom.
Thanks for clearing it up
Anybody want two xperias?
I'd like a black X1i, but only if I can find someone willing to buy my TPro

All T-Mobile HD2s the same?

Hi everyone!
i'd ask a question important for me : I will buy a HD2 but u know there are two versions of it. U.S. T-Mobile ones are better in ram and rom. But are all the T-Mobile ones the same in hardware? May i trust to buy if it has "T-Mobile" logo on it?
I'm the owner of a T-Mobile branded HD2 but not the T-Mobile US version.
As far as I know only T-Mobile US version has the T-Mobile logo on top and red and green buttons on bottom.
See my post on this topic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16683539&postcount=9
plain text:
Just to complete the list: there are more versions of the HD2 than two and memory isn't the only difference.
1. T-Mobile US PB81120 (more memory for T-Mobile requirements and for USA specialized radio chipset)
2. European HD2 PB81100 or T8585 (specialized radio chipset for Europe)
3. Asia/Pacific HD2 PB81110 or T9193 (specialized radio chipset for Asia/Pacific)
4. Chinese HD2 T9188 aka Tianxi (with specialized radio chipset for China and design adjustments)
5. Dopod HD2 T8588 (identical to T8585 apart from dopod logo)
EDIT: my advise: to use the full potential of a HD2 in Europe I would like to recommend a European HD2 T8585 because of the used radio chipsets for data transfer.
Thanks for your info. I didn't know about these differences. Then i have another question : Is t-mobile u.s. version much faster than europe hd2 version? It has more ram than europe and so it is faster but can we see that difference while using phone for exlaying games etc..?
I can't say if it's really faster, because I haven't seen a T-Mobile US HD2 live.
Maybe there is a review on youtube...
I'm not unhappy with my HD2's speed.
RAM can be equal on all HD2 models via supporting ROM & radio version. US T-Mo has 1GB of ROM which is a big bonus.
Main concern is radio bands are different also a third Telstra model can be thrown into the varient equasion in this respect.
Speed is important for me so u.s. version seems closer to me although i am in europe. My another question is : What varies when radio bands are different? What kind of problem may occur because of this variety? Does anyone know?
3G/UMTS radio frequencies used in USA are different to frequencies used in Europe.
Therefore the radio chipset is different.
Problem: GPRS data transfer speed (114kbit/s) instead of 3G/UMTS data transfer speed (7,2Mbit/s) if you use a T-Mobile US model in Europe.
Don't let me be missunderstood, this is not a general problem.
It depends on the network operator and which technique is used in various areas if this problem occures.
Who can say which network operator is using which technique in which area? Perhaps there is a problem.
I own the US T-Mo & have yet to have any issue with 3G on any provider I have used in UK Europe & Asia Pacific.
As for performance at gaming they will all be the same but with the larger ROM storage you can install more softwares directly to your device.
If you are a gamer I assume you will be going Android ! so if that is the case you would probably be best getting a dedicated android device that is newer in terms of hardware & doesn't suffer from some of the Android HD2 porting issues ...

Woouww that is a big big bigg problem if true.. I use up to 7.2 mbps and i cant bear slow internet So i'm afraid i will have to buy europe version if that problem is true..
Mister B; What is your internet speed with t-mobile version in Europe? And of course i am going to be going android because I already fed up with winmo 6.5 while using touch HD So u say gaming performance the same in two versions, only rom may be problem. i think rom is not a problem if ram isn't Thanks..
