I need help to repair my Qtek

I just did the following :
download the files from www.carrierdevices.com.au for Qtek 101 update

When the process began there was an error asking to press OK for restart.
After restarting device in the boot sequence ( when logo is diplayed) there are no informations about the ROM. Just Radion version is diplayed and that is the new version one (3.25)
Also on the display there is no start icon and I cannot use the display because it seems to be decalibrated completly.
Very Important : When I try to connect to Activesync after a while it telling me that the device is not a smartphone or a pocket PC and cannot be connected. So I cant use any program to try to upgrade again.
What to do ?
Please try to give examples and link to download files in order to fix my device.

Hi ...
If you still can get to the boot loader screen (power button + soft reset) and it displays "GSM OK", that means there is a good chance that the flash ROM is not damaged.
You can either put the ROM and RSU files on SD card through a card reader (.nbf files) or to get a valid SD backup for CE + Radio from any working XDA and use the boot loader screen to flash your device again.

It seems to be ok cause i can upload a new CE in SD format to the device. ROM was build in the kithcenROM from yorch.net.
It still not working cause perhaps I need the file containing Radio and CE as well in SD format.
Do you know where I can get it ?
I dont think I can get another device to read the files on the SD.

I 'm not sure which stage you are stuck with now ... if you can put CE image on SD card and flash it using the boot loader, that means you can boot your XDA and flash the RSU through a normal EXE file from yorch.net .... if this is not the case then you most propably have the wrong file format on the SD card.

present situation
I am at the edge of disperation.
Steps of what I did :
1. Back up Boot and CE to SD and save them to HDD.
2. Build a CE from Yorch.net in nb1 format and write it to SD with an adaptor.
3. Flash the device with that specific file ( was just CE , not including bootloader)
Now, my pocket is like that:
It cannot been powered from the power button
It start when plug in the charger
I cannot go in bootstrap mode ( when procedure for activating is made I just got a small red flash from the LED)
I have to mention that I choose from the yorch options :" lock butons except power when the device is turned off "
So, now I cannot use the SD for try another flash image.
I cannot use activesync because it cannot recognize the device. Somthing is wrong in the header of the authorising string or something like that.
When I plug the USB cable, activesync is starting but after 10 secs a pop up telling me that the device cannot be recognize, it is not a smartphone or pocket pc.
I am stack.

In the boot loader screen, try to press the calendar button ... it should give you the GSM menu. Select "Reset" or "Turn off" and do a soft reset
Plz do NOT try band switching or "Calib/debug"!

It sounds like a failed radio stack upgrade, you can try copying the RSUpgrade.sa.CAB file to your SD card then run it from there.
You can get the RSUpgrade.sa.CAB file by using WinZip to extract it from the RSUv1.15_(GPRS_T32500_ENG)[1].exe file.

T-Mobile USA PPC PW10B1

Hi, let me start off byapologising if this issue has been dealt with before but I am fairly new to the board and I am also a complete novice when it comes to these types of phones.
My problem is this. I have a T_Mobile USA PPC Wallaby, I live in England and I would like to unlock it so that I can use an O2 chip in it. I need an SID code to use the O2 chip which T-Mobile USA will not give to me because I do not have an account with them. I tried XDAunlock but it kept saying "Error getting unlock code". I tried to install "XDA-developers-SER-v12" but I kept getting the error message "ERROR: GetDeviceData - An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.
error getting devicedata" and then "Cannot execute the remote communication program.
Please make sure the USB/Serial cable is properly connected". I also tried using "xdadev_all_unlock-v1.3" with no luck. In fact, all I have been able to do is downgrade the Radio Stack (whatever that does?)
My device is.....
ROM Version : 4.01.16
Radio Version : 4.21.00
Protocol Version : 32S54
Hardware Version : PW10B
I am using Activesync 3.8 with Xp Home installed on my desktop. If anyone has any insight into this please could you help me with it?

As already told via PM:
You have to install the special Edition ROM via SD-Card since you´re actuell ROM-Version prohibits flashing via EXE-File....
Extract the Specialedition ROM EXE file with winzip. You get an directory English where the ROM (NK.nbf) is located.
Download XDATools ftp://xda:[email protected]/Wallaby/Tools/XDATools.zip
Extract them at any place and run osimagetool
Select the NK.nbf File in the Source drop down menu.
Select your SD card (disk drive) from Destination the drop down menu.
Select Copy to start writing process and the tool should start writing to the card.
When XDATools has finished writing the image (no Infomessage) put the SD-card into your device
If there comes a message to format the SD-card select No
Hold the power button and soft reset. You'll be taken to the below screen:
SD DOWNLOAD
Card Type:
CE OS & BOOT
Press action to Download
Or
Press REC to Exit
Press action to download and it will start the download/restore from the SD card.
Follow the on screen instructions once its "Completed" which will consist of a " Hard Reset"

No, normally not.
You could try changing Bands in bootloader, but normaly it shoud work....

Changing radio bands on Wallaby using the Bootloader
This page describes how to change radio bands on a Wallaby phone using the bootloader. If you change to a band that is not supported by your phone, your radio will receive less signal than with the bands it was tuned for. I.e. if you have a 900/1800 phone (Model number on sticker printed on back says "PW10A" instead of "PW10B") then if you change to 1900 MHz your phone will not be tuned right. If your sticker on the back says PW10B, then using the 1800 band is likely to degrade signal quality.
Changing bands
1. Press and hold the power button on top of the device
2. Go to the bootloader by gently pressing and releasing the stylus in the largest of the two holes on the bottom of the device
3. Release the power button
4. Wait for the screen to say "GSM OK"
5. Press the 'calendar' button on the right above the screen
6. Select the GSM band of your choice from the menu using the rocker switch under the display
7. Press the center of the rocker switch to confirm
8. Perform a soft-reset by pressing and releasing the stylus in the large hole again, this time without holding the power switch
Is your device really unlocked?
Can you search manually for networks? Do you find any one?
Have you the possibility to try another SIM-card?

The good news is that I now know how to install new Roms using the method you provided, yay! But now I cant get any signal at all and it does not seem to be able to find any networks, boo.

Since messing with the Radio Stack I have been unavle to get asignal or even pick up any networks? And I dont seem to be able to upgrade it to what it was? The only Stacks I can get to work are the exe type from the ftp server here, the zip files ones dont seem to work for some reason, and I need 6.25 which is only available as a zip. Does anyone have 6.25 as an exe type?

Well, I must be a complete dunce. I managed to upgrade the Radio Stack back to 6.25.02 and thanks to the help from LumpiStefan (and the fact that he was very patient with my complete noviceness) I am able to use my O2 chip and my PPC is now a phone as well!

Same problem but cant get into bootloader!
any Ideas ?

Whilst holding the power button in, press the stylus into the reset bugton then let go.

Hmmm, I don't know how to fix that? I tell you what though, there is a user here called 'LumpiStefan' and he basically walked me through it. He knows his stuff, maybe if you asked him he would help?

1. Download the XDA-Developers ROM Version 1.1
2. Install the ROM on your Device via SD-Card and bootloader.
3. The phone should start up and give you the screen allignment and the whole menu!
4.
Download an Upgrade for your device. This depends ont the model you are using. Check the sticker at the back of your device.
* If it is a PW10A-Model download RSU Version 4.16
* If it is a PW10B-Model download RSU Version 6.24.20
5. Extract the downloaded ZIP-File and copy all files to the /Windows directory of your device.
6. Copy the RSUpgrade.exe additional to the /windows/startup directory.
7. Make an soft reset of your device.
8. Maybe the upgrade will stop again at 1%, this may occur when you have an empty battery.
9. Place your device in the cradle. Run Active Sync on your device.
10. The RSU Upgrade will run in the background.
11. Wait for about 10 Minutes. The upgrade should complete in the background....
i did all steps to step 8.. now is time to run active sync but my device is NOT upgrading during running active sync.. all i get si 1 percent error again and again.. my battery is low on voltage.. what can i do?

Hi to all in this forum.
I have one T-Mobile MDA Compact II PM200. In this forum i hound that his name is Charmer. I try to unlock it with Lokiwiz03a. Program give me a code but device says that code is wrong. I try with other software to unlock it and after that mobile work with SIM card but no signal
I reflash mobiele with WM6 founded her in the forum, not it have English (before have German) but again no signal. I try now to unlock it with Lokiwiz02a and choose CID unlock. Again no signal.
When device in Automatic search mode no found network. If in Manual mode found but unable to register in network. When i put mobile to my computer speakers no outgoing signal from mobile that's not normal.
What is the problem ?
Can onyone help me with information ot needed software ?

I download Radio from ftp on this form for Prophet. And try with Prophet_G4_RadioRom_v2.47.11 but now mobile not start. Go to splash screen and after few seconds restart.
I try to put it in bootloader mode but ActiveSync can't make connection and for that flash software can't wreit new radio or flash into mobile.
I ry with:
1. dowenload this t-mobile official rom (http://www.tm-phonedownloads.com/files/RUU_Compact ll_2060227_20602110_021921_T-MobileUK_Ship.exe)
2. enter your Charmer into bootloader mode by pressing power + camera + reset, let go of the reset, but keep holding power + camera until the three colur screen will show up (that is bootloader mode).
3. connect the Charmer to your pc (make sure your battery is fully charged)
4. run the t-mobile rom.
5. good luck!

If you are in bootloader Active Sync wont make a connection. Just plug in the usb cable into your phone while in bootloader and run RUU.

I'm guessing that this universal radio upgrade is for universal
Download this:

Extract it, copy the .nbf of the rom you want to upgrade your device with to the extracted RUU folder. Once copied - run RUU.
P.S. The problem with your device is that you have upgraded wm6 on 1.xx bootloader. Thats why the system doesnt start. If the method I described above doesnt work. Post me.

after long time i try to play agian with this brick-PM200 that haven't signal.
last time (before more 2 years) i write ROM and after that PM200 not start, only in Bootloader mode (3 color lines).
today i revive it when flash this:

PM200 start, in begin fave full signal. after 30-40 seconds signal gone (but not test in/out call). i try to restart mobile, try hardreset, try manual search on operator - all no result.

i try to write different radios for Prophet but every time get message "Invalid tool" and radio flashers stop.

before two days i repair one HTC Touch Elf100 and read that can sniff USB comunication to check Vendor ID and other ID.
but in my PM200 this not work. on Elf100 work easy like is writed here in forum.
when start wyty (or what's name is) make connections with mobile but after write:

what is the password for Charmer (PM200) ?

I can help you maybe. You need to downgrade to Aku 2.2 using the original utulity. Then the Radio will be downgraded too. But nobody knows the exact way on how to do that. (Maybe Vlodeck knows that?) I'll try to get it this week and tell you then.
As for the password try CHARMER. I have never been able to test it with MTTY cause I don't get in the right mode but I think the olny possibility is CHARMER. Just try it with whatever tool you want.

OK you have the same problem I have. You have Cmd> in the window. To get the comands and the password working you need USB> instead of Cmd>. That is the same problem I have and I don't know how to fix it.

in moment i use MTTY 1.42
before 3-4 days i repayr one HTC Touch Elf100. and this MTTY work find. no problem that write CMD not USB.
terminal show CMD> i write commands and mobile answer w/o problem.
but in my Charmer not answer.
possible reason is access password. but not sure.

There are simple comands. And for them you don't need SuperCID. I tried them and they haven't worked too. So I think there is something else with it. Maybe the Bootloader locks all comands and you need a password for that too. But I don't know about that.

Well, we can't SuperCID and Security unlock a Charmer with a bootloader over 1.x at the moment. This is surely impossible. That won't work using a SD Card too. So I think you will not have any luck.

[Q] HP 6965 chinese to english. HELP ME please!

Hey all I'm fairly new here and I just got a iPaq 6965 shipped to me from Taiwan, unfortunately it is all in chinese and I can't read it so I need it in english.
Someone please tell me how i can change the language as I can't read anything or function my phone. I already searched and I'm confused by the whole 'rom' ordeal and I saw a thread stating that downloading these roms could harm your phone so I'm not sure what to do. Please help me!

If your Flash chip type is G4, you can use ENG V1.21UK rom to update, I have uploaded the rom to Yahoo.com mail box.
I have changed my 6965 CHT ver to ENG ver successfully.
You can login yahoo mail box by using [email protected] as id and 69656965 as password.
Pls note not to delete the rom as others might need it too.
Flsah method:
1. Sync your mobil with PC by ActiveSync4.5 or up
2. Double click the downloaded update rom programme.
3. Click upgrade button and wait for 8-10 minutes
4. Done.

1: hold down the 2 function buttons on either side of the joystick (NOT the call answer and call kill buttons, between them )
2: while holding the buttons down, use the pen and press the reset button at the bottom of the phone.
You should now have a bootloader screen, with an HP logo, and SERIAL or USB line of text at the top, and a G.39 version text at the bottom of the screen....
Activsync need not be connected at this stage, just your USB cradle or cable....
3: Download and extract the _Sable___G3_DEVICE_ONLY_hw6915-1.21uk.rar file from above... remember to delete the files from folder - CEBL.nbf, RadioFS.nbf, RadioOS.nbf..
4: run the sableRUU.exe ... this will now install the CE OS in english....

Client_GetOSVer fail !! Error: 501
Hi I tried delete the files from folder - CEBL.nbf, RadioFS.nbf, RadioOS.nbf.
The folder have this file.:
1). EnterBL Application
2). GetDevic Application
3). CEOS.nbf
4). Sable_RUU, when I run Sable_RUU get this errors out saying Client_GetOSVer fail !! Error: 501 and my phone is stuck the screen shows USB HP Logo and vG39
And I cant hard reset, the small reset bottom are broken
How do I get it back??

after this update will the phone be fully functional ? Including GSM ? On some other thread it said to remove some files from the update before flashing.
