My phone is getting this error. Seemingly randomly.
I've had the phone for about 2 weeks now (m1000 orange uk, latest orange mms software).
First happened a couple of days after i got it. Not sure how/why it happened, but doing a hard reset didnt resolve it. In the end I reapplied the Orange software update from their site.
Worked ok for about a week and yesterday it gave me the error again! :evil:
hard reset as per suggestions on other posts on the matter but didnt do
anything. so bit the bullet and reapplied the software again.
worked ok for about an hour until the error message popped up again.
phoned orange, they didnt have any idea adviced to send back to to where i got it from. i rangg the company i bought it from and they said gotta send back for testing before they replace. trouble is, about an hour after i called them i noticed the Bluetooth light had started flashing and now i can again access bluetooth without a problem. so when they get my phone back to test, knowing my luck they wont find any problems .
any ideas on this? does it seem like a hardware fault? its confusing/frustrating the hell out of me
Does anybody know what situations Orangecare (Uk) will replace next day a covered phone?
in the past few times i've needed to (years ago) they always swapped out but i cant remember the reasons i needed to.
I've heard from freinds that recently they've had to call orangecare and they have had to send their phones off to be repaired. I dont really want to be without the phone
my m1000 currently has no bluetooth (not worked since had it) and the power connector thing at the bottom is very loose and is very tricky to get my gps / usb dock to make a connection.

I have used then once and no problem at all, i could not receive text messages, and got a replacement and the same happend, upgraded my rom to 2003SE and all worked fine after that.
So the phone was fine, just had an old version of the rom that was crap

They claim a new phone within 24 hours. It couldn't be any bigger. So you don't have to accept anything less than a replacement. Especially now there's a £15+VAT admin fee.
However, they MIGHT try and give you a different phone as a temporary replacement while they phone yours. Whether you choose to accept it or not is upto you depending on what features you need/want and what they'll provide.
I've (thankfully) only had to claim on Orange care twice in about 5 years, but everytime it came next day without fail (even arrived on a Sunday!)
Best thing to do is simpy ring them. You don't incur any penalty by just asking.

Could you please advise me where I can download a upgrade to for 2003SE for the Orange M1000? Thanks.
The version that was on the orange website was the same as in the phone when supplied, so i downloaded from here.

When answering or making phone calls, i can't hear wat my opposite says, unless i on loud speaker, otherwise i hear nothing at all....what could be wrong?

I have had the same problem, I starts on the moment i used my heatset. You can try to do an hard reset. Use the last ROM.
When the problem stays you can contact HTC to send your mobile. They will repair it. It can be an mechanic problem

Call HTC servicecentre,
They will arrange to send the Topaz to an repair service centre. It is garanty matter.
I did the same an got my phone repaird back.
When I plugged in my headset, i can hear, and the lights around that speaker part is not blinking anymore

Nope, and i did a hard reset already.
I guess I'll have to send it to the service center tomorrow. Tried everything from hard reset to re-flashing ROMS. To registry tweaks. Nothing works.
Hi guys, today my phone started with the same problem. I live in Brazil and bought it on the US, so I pretty much doubt HTC will give me any assitance here.
I have already tried hard-reset and it still doesn´t work. If anyone has any ideas I would be really grateful.
OK guys, I brought it in to HTC's Vietnamese's service center for repair. My phone was bought in Singapore. It seems like a common problem for Topaz as they acknowledge the problem without further ado.
Repair will void my warrantty in Singapore and will cost me Around US$12 and take less than a day.

It is a shame to find such "common problem" on a device like this... Did they inform you what is the problem?
I bought mine in Singapore too, as I live in Singapore. I'm sending to the service center tomorrow, i'll update you guys tomorrow.
Repaired! All in a days work. Its working fine now.

I'm from Singapore but work and live in Saigon. My TD2 was bought abt 2wks ago from M1.
Did they call you before they deliver you? You sent ur TD2 to HTC service center @ keppel tower near harbourfront too?
Nope, I am currently in Saigon. And there is a HTC care here. It was actually repaired within the day.
Same problem here. I bought mine in HK, and suddenly one day the earpiece stopped working. I contact HTC greece but still no answer if they accept to repair or not.
I received my DVP yesterday (after wating for a LONG time to get it), everything is working fine except my ability to make and receive calls.
I can only hear sound when the phone is in speaker mode, I was therefore wondering whether I had a setting that needed to be changed to 'hear' the phone call normally or if I need to send the phone back and wait a long time again for a new phone to arrive.

I'm having the same problem although it just started this morning. I've had my unit since Feb...
Trying a hard reset now but the tech at Tmobile said it may be a hardware issue...
Will wait and see after updates...
If anyone else other than the OP and I have encountered this problem please let us know if it's salvagable or will we have to deal with Dell and get a replacement...
Well mine didn't work since opening the box. Called Dell and they set up to send me a replacement. A week after Called them again to see what had happened with the replacement and they said they cancelled it. Now they're going to send me a 16gb version. Let's see how that goes~
I just sent mine back as they were going to 'repair' my phone over a 30 days period..I so sent it back and got a refund...
I called dell on Tuesday to report the problem. I told the techsupport guy that I've done the hard resets, etc. and none of it has worked. So the guy said he will get a dispatch put in to get me a replacement.
I told him that I am traveling internationally on Friday (really) and that if it can't get here by then, to just hold off on it. He said he will try and see.
The call to get a guy and obtain a dispatch number took me 5 minutes only!
Yesterday I got a call saying that the phone has been mailed (OMG!) and to watch for it Thursday (today). But little did I know, I got the phone less than 3 hours after the call...
The new unit is working great and I have to admit, Dell definitely cleaned up their act from a few months ago...
Hope the rest of you have a good Dell experience like I did!

I want you to solve the problems .. Because the company did not solve my problem
The first problem: if the slide in the device I slice prepaid so I can make calls must have a balance of more than 19 SAR
Though less so I have to turn off the machine and then re-run so that I can call again, "with each call"
The second problem: When someone sends me a message it to contact me directly, but left his stronghold to another person sends me a message .. Vts the first and remains suspended to the new third person to send a message ... Etc. Thus
Please note: that the two remained more than two weeks in the security did not solve the problem .. I found someone else had the same problem and also not solved ..
