SD Card flashing locks at 003C0000...HELP!!! - MDA, XDA, 1010 Software Upgrading

I was trying to flash my TMO Pocket PC to 4.01 ENG and it locked at PRG 003C0000 and reset back to the bootloader. I thought it was just the card so I went to my backup and got the same thing so I popped my card into my reader/writer and tried to flash using the TMO original 3.14 and same thing again.
Is my XDA dead?
Please help me out.

use a different card

and is your flash card big enough to hold 32M?
a card that says '32M' can usually only hold about 29M or 30M of data. which is not enough for rom flashing.

I have tried 2 different cards, they are both 128MB's

Maybe you should download a new rom and try writing that to a card.

I tried the TMO original from Yorch, a 4.01 cooked rom and the official 4.01

WANTED: AT&T SX56 virgin ROM file

Can somebody please help me.
As I posted in this post, I scr3wed up my buddy's AT&T SX56.
I have got the thing past being dead, by putting a custom ROM on it.
However, I really need to get this thing back into AT&T mode, with either 2002 or 2003 on it. I will then upgrade to 2003.
Does anyone know where I can get a virgin AT&T ROM so that I can re-flash his system.
Thanks.

Check out Yorch.net
Okay, I'm making SOME progress.
Firstly thanks for the youch referral from kwlandry.
I had found the rom kitchens this afternoon while looking for solutions...
I'm busy flashing the ROM from SD for the umpteenth time.
It seems that whenever I flash the SX56 with an AT&T 30.09 ROM, then I get a hang on reboot.
I am currently trying the 4.00.05 ENG ppc2003 from yourch as it seemed to be non-specific (and a non-TMobile) one.
I seem to have the latest Radio stack (RA.33.02), and have been able to get a couple of ROM's to work.
Does anyone have ANY idea why the AT&T 30.09 ROM would fail in the same place every time? This is definately an AT&T unit, at is has the logo on the front. The phone was originally locked, but has been unlocked during the process.
I'm busy reading/searching the forum, but haven't seem to find this problem anywhere.
Thanks for ANY help.

I fixed many XDAs with your problem!
you could send the XDA to Siemens to repair/exchange.
Try flashing back to the original ROM via sd method then upgrading to wm2003.
You can get a copy of the 2002PPC ROM at siemens website. Cut & Paste the following link.
http://www.my-siemens.com/MySiemens...%2FMC%2FMC%2FSX56POCKETPCPHONE%2Fdesc,00.html
Extract the file to a directory, then use the XDA OSimage tool to write to SD card then use bootloader to write to ROM.
After a successful flash follow the same to upgrade to wm2003
You can also try this kitchen http://lumpistefan.dyndns.org/
BTW - the phone has to be fully charged. That might be the cause of your hanging issue.
I have posted this in answer to your other post, try using a diferent memory card for upgrade to wm2003, I had this problem when using an mmc memory card to upgrade to WM2003, it hung every time even though it seemed to complete correctly, I changed to a different memory card and had instant success.
Yes! I agree also. But, though "mmc" and "sd" cards are similar, in this case the process calls for an sd card. The size doesn't seem to matter, I use a 512mb, however some people have had issues with device detection. So, a 64mb card is recommended. Make sure it is formated before use. And again a fully charged phone is unlikely to have problems so save your battery till all requirements are in place. Also DO NOT DO A HARD RESET! untill you have a successful install. You could lose you GSM ROM.
Thanks for all the replies.
I have successfully flashed back to the original rom; I downloaded it from yorc.
Having got the device back up and running, I tried the upgrade to 2003 again; using the Siemens software in the cradle solution. Didn't work.
The battery was definately fully charged (90% or higher) at all times.
I will look to try another SD card, and see if that makes a difference, it just seems strange that the card works to restore WM2002, and either card or USB approaches to upgrading to WM2003 fail.
The card I've been using is a very generic 128MB MMC card.
Again, thanks to everyone for their suggestions.

T-mobile WM2003 upgrade problems

Hi everyone, I'm using an Asian O2 XDA and was running the 3.20.06 OS. I messed around with the ROM from Yorch's kitchen - the T-Mobile WM2003 upgrade, version 4.00.21.
My current problem is that I am unable to flash back to my previous version of ROM, or any other versions. My O2's running the version 6.22 bootloader and I have been unable to get it to boot from the SD card despite many attempts. Anyone out there that has managed to solve this problem ??
Regards
Maybe...
I dont know but maybe u need to use fixboot from XDAtools ?
it should help but i dont really know cause i didnt have such problem...
Boot loader 6.22 doesn't detect ROMs on SD cards. Try the XDAtools with any cooked ROM from the kitchen here and it will update your boot loader to 5.15 which doesn't have this restriction.
I've tried flashing the ROM using XDATools but the it kept giving me a message that the connection was reset by the device.
Is there something that I'm doing wrong ??
Try connecting your device to the PC and sync ... then from the XDAtools directory run this command:
pnewbootloader.exe bootloader_v5_15.nb0

Flash Radio Stack with SD CARD

How can im flash MDA with SDCARD wifhout active sync
you don't need active sync to use the SD method ... maybe you better retype your question
i have upgraded my XDA I for wm2003 .... does it upgraded the radio stack as well or i have to do that in seprate way ? if yes then where can i get the radio rom and to upgrade it
Press hold power with soft reset, then if you SD has images, it will confirm you to download to upgrade your XDA I, if empty it will flash your XDA I images to SD..that all.....
Try your best XDA I never expire. but MDA = XDA

Sunpower,
If your GSM part is working fine in your device I recommend from you not to upgrade it. Lots of ppl here has dead devices cos of that upgrade.
Make a search about Failed Rsu upgrade and read what happened to them , believe me you wont touch this part of upgrade.
same ramram
don't try to upgrade RSU if old versions still ok.....because now i already have 2 dead xda in my hand ..... i garantee ramram idea.....
Radio ROM on SD - Anyone?
Hi all
I've got an O2 XDA with broken radio ROM from my friend. I also have my AT&T SX56 running normally (with cooked 4.01.16 ENG OS and 6.12 radio ROM).
I've tried re-flashing the dead O2 XDA radio ROM (by running RSUpgrade.exe inside WM2003 or 2002) without any success. It seems to me that a SD radio ROM flashing is a good way to try. But I can not get my SX56's radio ROM on SD card, since the device keeps asking me to connect a RS232 cable and run PC monitor when I try to create CD + GSM dump on SD card, using boot loader options.
Question:
- Is the any way to create radio ROM upgrade SD card, using XDATools or similar tools, and radio upgrading files (those file that come with RSUpgrade.cab, for example), or
- Could anybody provide me an image of such a SD card, or
- How can I dump GSM ROM form my SX56 to SD card, without RS232 cable and PCMonitor
Current soft/hardware info:
My SX56 is running 5.15 boot loader, cooked 4.01.16 ENG OS and 6.12 radio ROM
The dead O2 XDA is running 5.15 boot loader, cooked 4.01.16 ENG OS (could be changed to any version)
Thank you for reading.

T-Mobile UK 1.72 rom

Because my phone keeps freezing about 5 times a day am thinking of flashing this rom (have the leoimg file on my sd card ready to install). Just want to know, now it's been out for a few weeks, what everyones thoughts on it is? Still fast & stable? No other issues?
Cheers
dont flash via sd card! it can overwrite ur spl >.<! do it only via usb on a computer!
Overwriting the SPL won't be a problem as I need a stock spl if I ever want to send it back for repair. + I can always reflash hpsl2 if needs be
Seems OK
Only problem I had was I re-installed .NET3.5, as I didn't trealise the new rom contains a later version.
It ran like a very very slow thing until I un-installed.

flash the stock rom via sd card at your peril, the spl will be changed to 2.something witch is not stock and hspl2 can't change it
also if you send the phone for repairs with the 2.? spl in it tmobile will most likely void the warranty.
ps why don't you try Artemis, the roms are very fast and great for every day use.

error mssg vogue

Hi all!
Noob here and have finally been able to get a rom flashed properly!!!
Web mms the whole nine yards!

Question...I am getting an error message..
I have nfsfans 6.5 rom, touch vogue and when the ppc is just idle the error reads:
"Comparing two string values with numerical operator. Use gt instead
Line:
If (offtime> ontime)"
How do I resolve this??
Thanks for the help and this forum...this is awsome....
I don't know about the error but the file needs to be named voguimg.nbh

sd card is 2gb or less, formated FAT32?
maybe try to downlod the radio from a different source.
If all else fails you could flash the Bell rom with the radio, then reflash nfsfans rom.
I've had he radio flash fail a couple of times, all I've had to do is either overwrite the .nbh file on the card and try again or reformat the card and try again.
What radio are you on? I'm on 3.37.78 currently, with no intentions of changing it. I've tried the others and the only difference I saw was less reception in some areas, it didn't seem to affect my gps(lock times) at all.

I agree with him. I have not been able to flash any radio by itself (either through sd card or via RUU). The only way I have been able to flash radios is via official updates.
radio rom
so I know these are noob questions, but if I flash the bell rom and then flash nfsfan's rom, by doing that I am only flashing nfsfans rom and no radio w/ it?
the bell rom will leave its radio in tact?
the bell rom will increase the battery life???? So far the battery life is No Good w/ what I have 3.37.10 I have 4 batteries, but a pain to keep switching them out...
you'll have the bell radio and splash screen with nfsfans rom.
i don't know about the battery.
