Flash Radio Stack with SD CARD - MDA, XDA, 1010 Software Upgrading

How can im flash MDA with SDCARD wifhout active sync

you don't need active sync to use the SD method ... maybe you better retype your question

i have upgraded my XDA I for wm2003 .... does it upgraded the radio stack as well or i have to do that in seprate way ? if yes then where can i get the radio rom and to upgrade it

Press hold power with soft reset, then if you SD has images, it will confirm you to download to upgrade your XDA I, if empty it will flash your XDA I images to SD..that all.....
Try your best XDA I never expire. but MDA = XDA

Sunpower,
If your GSM part is working fine in your device I recommend from you not to upgrade it. Lots of ppl here has dead devices cos of that upgrade.
Make a search about Failed Rsu upgrade and read what happened to them , believe me you wont touch this part of upgrade.

same ramram
don't try to upgrade RSU if old versions still ok.....because now i already have 2 dead xda in my hand ..... i garantee ramram idea.....

Radio ROM on SD - Anyone?
Hi all
I've got an O2 XDA with broken radio ROM from my friend. I also have my AT&T SX56 running normally (with cooked 4.01.16 ENG OS and 6.12 radio ROM).
I've tried re-flashing the dead O2 XDA radio ROM (by running RSUpgrade.exe inside WM2003 or 2002) without any success. It seems to me that a SD radio ROM flashing is a good way to try. But I can not get my SX56's radio ROM on SD card, since the device keeps asking me to connect a RS232 cable and run PC monitor when I try to create CD + GSM dump on SD card, using boot loader options.
Question:
- Is the any way to create radio ROM upgrade SD card, using XDATools or similar tools, and radio upgrading files (those file that come with RSUpgrade.cab, for example), or
- Could anybody provide me an image of such a SD card, or
- How can I dump GSM ROM form my SX56 to SD card, without RS232 cable and PCMonitor
Current soft/hardware info:
My SX56 is running 5.15 boot loader, cooked 4.01.16 ENG OS and 6.12 radio ROM
The dead O2 XDA is running 5.15 boot loader, cooked 4.01.16 ENG OS (could be changed to any version)
Thank you for reading.

Try to upgrade the ROM to 3.17 from this site and it will unlock your device with the first boot
www.xda-developers.com/SER/
Good luck ...
I'm sure this is a dum ? but do see a link to download the update. I saw the part that talked about having a box and dont have all of that. Could someone hook me up with the update.

Actually, there's enough smoke and mirrors involved in all of this that you'll quickly learn there are no dumb questions.
First, go to a site that is running a "ROM kitchen" and cook up a ROM, such as:
http://kitchen.romanweb.com/kitchen/index.php
Create a 3.17.03 ROM with no config data and uncheck all of the optional software, so you have an absolutely bare-bones 3.17.03 OM with no frills.
Second, Find some way to back up your existing ROM, either onto an SD card or onto your computer.
Third, install the 3.17 ROM on your XDA. Many here prefer the SD card method of loading; I took my chances just using the .exe with the device in the USB cradle with no problems. Once loaded, when you boot up, it will say "Your Device's SIM appears to be locked, would you like to unlock it?" You simply select "yes" and that's that... I literally had the 3.17 ROM on my device for all of one boot and no more than 20 seconds. Then load your existing ROM or a newly "cooked" feature-laden ROM from one of the kitchens back on to your device and you're back in "bidness."
I too made the journey from ATTWS to T-Mo and with a little luck, and a little help from people here, it went very smoothly.
Everyone here has a different level of experience, both on matters technical and matters XDA, so don't be afraid to ask any questions you might have so you have a clear picture of the whole process before you start.

Thanks for all of your help guys. Got it too work
Kitchen ROM Errors
Hello all,
I have been reading all day on the forum, as am an SX56 owner (former AT&T) now with T-Mobile and want to get it working and unlocked on their network.
I cooked up the 3.17 ROM as an executable, and downloaded the rom.exe file.
Each time I run it, it starts up the DOS window, then the Uploader Software, then gives me an Error 007 Dialog window, Cannot find the ROM image to upgrade your Pocket PC. Please download and try again.
I have tried this three times now, but cannot get to the 3.17 so I can unlock, and get to WM2003 and the new radio stack for T-Mobile.
HELP!!!! Thanks
Hello ..
It seems you do need to try the SD card method. Either to get SD card and reader/writer and cook your new ROM as .nb1 file, or to get a SD backup for the ROM from any other t-mobile device.
Mad Max,
1st, how do you back up your current ROM? Please provide step by step procedure.
2nd, How do you load your original ROM back in? When you load back your original ROM, does the phone get locked again?
3rd, it looks like you've done what I want to do, can you please provide a step by step on how you installed the 3.17 ROM on the XDA using the USB cradle?
Thanks in advance.

SD Card flashing locks at 003C0000...HELP!!!

I was trying to flash my TMO Pocket PC to 4.01 ENG and it locked at PRG 003C0000 and reset back to the bootloader. I thought it was just the card so I went to my backup and got the same thing so I popped my card into my reader/writer and tried to flash using the TMO original 3.14 and same thing again.
Is my XDA dead?
Please help me out.
use a different card
and is your flash card big enough to hold 32M?
a card that says '32M' can usually only hold about 29M or 30M of data. which is not enough for rom flashing.
I have tried 2 different cards, they are both 128MB's
Maybe you should download a new rom and try writing that to a card.
I tried the TMO original from Yorch, a 4.01 cooked rom and the official 4.01

T-mobile WM2003 upgrade problems

Hi everyone, I'm using an Asian O2 XDA and was running the 3.20.06 OS. I messed around with the ROM from Yorch's kitchen - the T-Mobile WM2003 upgrade, version 4.00.21.
My current problem is that I am unable to flash back to my previous version of ROM, or any other versions. My O2's running the version 6.22 bootloader and I have been unable to get it to boot from the SD card despite many attempts. Anyone out there that has managed to solve this problem ??
Regards
Maybe...
I dont know but maybe u need to use fixboot from XDAtools ?
it should help but i dont really know cause i didnt have such problem...
Boot loader 6.22 doesn't detect ROMs on SD cards. Try the XDAtools with any cooked ROM from the kitchen here and it will update your boot loader to 5.15 which doesn't have this restriction.
I've tried flashing the ROM using XDATools but the it kept giving me a message that the connection was reset by the device.
Is there something that I'm doing wrong ??
Try connecting your device to the PC and sync ... then from the XDAtools directory run this command:
pnewbootloader.exe bootloader_v5_15.nb0

Cannot upgrade to Windows Mobile 2003 on SX56

Okay, I've had it. I've spent all weekend trying multiple configurations to get my system upgraded. I was originally running bootloader 5.22 and went to Lumpistefans' kitchen and cooked multiple ROMs but none of them brought up a working system. I first cooked the Siemens A.30.09 but that didn't work, then I tried the 4.01.16 ENG T-mobile (since that the service provider I'm using) but that didn't work also. I went back to my orignal and it's working fine, no problems.
I then thought that maybe it was my bootloader, so I downgraded to 5.15 and then tried flashing the same ROMs again, but still they didn't work! I even tried the 4.01.12 EURO 02, but that didn't work either.
After I flash to a new ROM I get the ROM's boot screen (not the one with the different band colors, but the actual ROM screen image just as if it were going to boot fine, then in the lower right hand corner all the version stuff pops up, but then that's it. NOTHING HAPPENS! It just sits there fore EVAR!!!
I'm about to go bald by ripping my hair out if I can't figure it out.
BTW, I was sure to make a backup of the bootloader 5.22 just in case.
My XDA info:
Model: PW10B1
ROM: 3.17.03
Date: 05/15/03
Radio stack version: A.20.10
Protocol version: 324e4
Lower right-hand corner:
G324e4
RA.20.10
3.17.03
Does anybody have a ROM, or tell me what ROM, to use so I get get the latest WM and "get with it"?
THANK YOU!
P.S. Someone please remove the thread started as GUEST, I forgot to login.
ARe you using memory card for upgrade? I had this problem using mmc memory card but when I used a different memory card everything worked fine for sd flashing.
Yes, I've been using the same memory flash sd card for backing up and upgrading. I've used the same card to back up my ROM and then restore my original ROM in working condition. So, I don't think it's the card, but I'll try another card just in case.
Does anyone have another suggestion?

Upgrading Radio Stack to Ver 6.25.02

From my previous thread (Need help unlocking a HTC Wallaby (Rom 4.01.16)) you folks know that with help from the forum at large and Stefan in particular I have successfully unlocked my XDA.
My phone signal is rather weak.
1. Will upgrading to Radio Stack to Ver 6.25.02 help solve this issue ?
2. My current ROM is 3.17.03 ENG and current Radio is 6.24.00. If the answer to above point is yes. Then what steps are involved in upgrading the radio stack?? Do I have to change the ROM or can I just do it without changing the ROM??
Thanks in advance.
Don´t know if upgrading the radio stack will help getting a better signal.
You can try it. Update process can be done without flashing a new ROM....
Process iwould follow:
1. Remove SIM-Card
2. Hard Reset to get a clean device
3. Reconenct your device via active sync
4. Download Radio Stack e.g. ftp://xda:[email protected]/Wallaby/Radio_Stack/RSU_V6.25.02_PPC.zip
5. Extract the files to a folder on your device
6. run the exe file
7. Pray all is working fine ....
PS: There are too possibilities fro Upgrading:
1. Using the files that are designed for upgrading directly on the device, llike the above
2. Files that do this above activesync. If you got such a file skip step 5

If you update your Radio Stack, your device would end as a paper weight.
Radio Stack 6.xx are for PW10B phones with 900/1900MHz network connection and the 4.xx are for PW10A with 900/1800 MHz networks....
Generally radio stack could be upgraded without touching the ROM and the device would stay unlocked/locked as it was before.....
All several written here in the forum....
