but i forget to say it's available to selected O2 developers and beta testers under NDA ( non-disclosure agreement )
This upgrade is only for evaluation purposes, to confirm application compatibility with Pocket PC 2003. It is not the commercial release of the software, and cannot be made available outside of O2 to customers or end users. as the instructions file says
A new release of the OS, customised for O2 xda, will be available later.
This software download is only available to those approved O2 application developers who have been preselected to test prior to launch.

ive tried combineing all the different things to try hopefully find the right link as it shows o2.loop.de on one of the pics i thought the germans might be looking after it? but i didnt find nothing in the end ive given up.
nothing on kazaa or even on the web
not even on source o2 so i give up lol till its there for use to downlaod ill be happy with the new windows as it supports midi ringtones as playing midi in pc2002 is non exsistant lol.

The GPRS symbol is the old one.

No, it's a genuine document but using screenshots from PPC2002 as these are incidental to the installation process.
The Xda PPC2003 build is only available to selected O2 developers under NDA.

Yes you're wrong. This is the "old" version with Pocket PC 2002

The .pdf file is headed with Pocket PC 2003 dated 11th June 2003!

I can't download the 2003 file. can anybody mirror it? i'm willing to try it

Just trying to figure out if it is the right upgrade. it is labeled 3.17.03 but when the instructions when I downloaded said it was 4.00.05!!!
I am a it confused.

So, believe me, it is the wrong File. This is Pocket PC 2002
It is version3.17.03 ENG from the 15.05.2003
It works here on my xda fine, but itś no Pocket PC 2003...

I've just downloaded a ROM (version 3.18) for the DOPOD device (Same as XDA). On the website which seems to be in chinese or some asian language it suggests that version 3.18 is the pocket pc 2003 version. Pictures on the site seem to back this up. The screen shots shows that the ROM seems to have english support. Anyway the problem is that the ROM is in NB1 format. I don't have a SD Card so can not convert to NBF. If anyone is able to tell me any other way to convert to an exe so that I can upload it to my XDA it would be much appreciated.

need help on upgrading my rom

i have an O2 XDA.
ROM Version: 3.02.00 GER
ROM Date: 05/27/02
I want to update to the new SER v.12 but have no idea how to do so.
Can anybody please help me?

then, check out the thread/topic about SER 1.2, the thing you probably need/want is XDA-developers-SER-v12.exe, posted somewhere in that topic. Just download and execute, the programme will guide you

but is ist safe to install this rom. i have heard that some xda´s are destroyed if you install it.
what requirements does my xda need if i want to install version 1.2

Flashing ROM is not too dangerous - Radio part (the 1.5MB file) is worse
if you just follow the instructions you should be safe

I just bought the xda yesterday. So if i download the XDA-developers-SER-v1.2.exe to my xda and execute it, its gonna delete the old rom version and upgrade to the new one? I really have to be careful because i don't wanna kill my device.
if i update to ser v.1.2 do i have to update my radio part or can i leave it the old way.

I am not an expert on this thing, but using the exe is not difficult.
It's a lot and alot better the the original ROM for my XDA.

You execute it on the computer... you did not read the articles, did you?

i have read the whole article. but why do i execute SER1.2 .exe on my computer and not on the xda? how do i get it on the xda?

You don't need to do anything on your xda. Executing the file on your pc automatically beams it to Activesync and then installs it on xda. Sounds easy enough...? It is!!

i thank you the utmost!!!i finally got it.ser1.2 is running without any problems and i even got rid of the annoying simlock wich would have cost me 150€.

the sogou tool is safety enough，and i used it for a long time，and i used kapa6.0 virus sofeware didn t report any hurt，so i think u virus software could give a wrong report.

Please I tried upgrading my alpine but while upgrading after it had done the radio rom getting to extended rom upgrade an error 113 (extended rom update error), tried 3 different rom same error message.Please could anyone help me? Device is just showing serial and someone help with detailed step how to upgrade with sd card. Thanks

What do you want to know about it?
You fill the details in on the website, download the rom and run it. It will wipe all the data on your phone as well

I think I'm either in the same boat as Chappad or at least on the sake river; I'd like to upgrade from WM5 to WM6 as I'd also like to flash Touch Flo 3.0. I've been banging around the WM site for a while now and can't locate the file to download WM6! Where is it or am I just not seeing what may obviously there?
The other thing I am really hoping for is for someone to bless the newbies with, oh, maybe a tutorial on how to flash a ROM like WM6 onto a device like, I don't know, like a Artemis/Orbit and then to install Touch Flo 3.0 on it.

I just tried it and you need a password to log on, have you got one to use?
Otherwise you can use the link I gave previously which is an Official upgrade for o2 Orbit which is what he first poster in this thread wanted

So, Meschle...or any of the other Gurus around here; How about a "How to..." setting up a Artemis/Orbit to run WM6 and Meschle's Touch Flo? I just wish I had the know-how to do it myself!

Ok ya ready for it steve.... this is gonna blow your mind! (nah only messing, its so feckin easy ya'll shoot yerself).
1 - download the .zip file of your choice.
2 - extract the .zip file to a folder somewhere
3 - connect your Orbit to your PC and make sure it Activesyncs OK
4 - open up the folder you just extracted, run "STEP 1 - activesync then uspl cid unlocking.bat" - this will unlock the SPL and CID on our Orbit so you can flash a new ROM to it.
5 - Once thats done OK and your Orbit has reset, make sure to check that your SPL is now 1.11 (do this by resetting the Orbit and on the very first screen, in top left corner in red font it will display a few things, on being SPL)
6 - now reconnect your Orbit to the PC and activesync again
7 - and this time open the extracted folder and run "STEP 2 - activesync then flash artemis touch rom.bat" - this will bring up a screen asking to make sure battery is above 50% and things like that. Just follow the prompts and update the new ROM. Your Orbit screen will probably go white with a progress bar, thats fine.
8 - Once this is showing finished Ok, you should ow have a fancy new ROM.
BEAR IN MIND THIS WILL WIPE ALL OF YOUR PHONE DATA, MUCH LIKE FORMATTING A PC HARD DISK WITH A NEW OPERATING SYSTEM. SO MAKE SURE TO BACK-UP

I can tell you that roms arent good or bad... in every device we have diferent issues believe me... and everyone can said this is good to me but somebody said its the worst one! why?... cause its their points of view... be sure you have everything to upgrade before do it ok?

Search on the brushed metal by noonski ROM in post number 82 i have attached A RUU just copy your nk.nbf to the file unzipped and run the RUU xp if it doesnt works run the normal RUU. in this link:

Its an old rom but if it is of your likely... first read the way to upgrade in G4 section of wizard forum maybe you miss a step...
Good luck the new ERA of Roms are the included Manila 2D in it... so give it a try is most prettier.

it seems my rom upgrade haven't solved one of my major problems.The GPRS connection is not working.I'm connecting to the network (Vodafone) but if i want to browse the internet internet explorer says :"The page cannot be found.Check the name and try again".

Most of roms
Most of roms has this kind of prob, cause the ccokers said that is better to conect via WIFI or USB stills a problem... but you can try and try again
One more thing maybe your carrier Configuration have missing something... acharacter... a number a dot..... i dont know men!
