ive tried combineing all the different things to try hopefully find the right link as it shows o2.loop.de on one of the pics i thought the germans might be looking after it? but i didnt find nothing in the end ive given up.

not even on source o2 so i give up lol till its there for use to downlaod ill be happy with the new windows as it supports midi ringtones as playing midi in pc2002 is non exsistant lol.

No, it's a genuine document but using screenshots from PPC2002 as these are incidental to the installation process.
The Xda PPC2003 build is only available to selected O2 developers under NDA.

So, believe me, it is the wrong File. This is Pocket PC 2002
It is version3.17.03 ENG from the 15.05.2003
It works here on my xda fine, but itś no Pocket PC 2003...

I've just downloaded a ROM (version 3.18) for the DOPOD device (Same as XDA). On the website which seems to be in chinese or some asian language it suggests that version 3.18 is the pocket pc 2003 version. Pictures on the site seem to back this up. The screen shots shows that the ROM seems to have english support. Anyway the problem is that the ROM is in NB1 format. I don't have a SD Card so can not convert to NBF. If anyone is able to tell me any other way to convert to an exe so that I can upload it to my XDA it would be much appreciated.

Hi I have a big problem and i need all the help i can get
I have an XDA IIi but i accidently deleted all the data on it
the opertating system is gone the screen is only showing me Serial 1.0
and when i connect to my pc only shows USB 2.0
I would like to know if somebody can help me out with this and tell me how to restore the software to my device, i have a backup copy on my SD card, but i don't know how to used

I was trying to upgrade the radio version of the phone, but the version i was installing was not desgined for the XDAIIi , so, instead of upgrading, it deleted of the rom of the device and now the operating system is gone
the only thing i still have is the backup copy that i made defore the upgrade
i don't know if there is a way to use that backup copy in order to restore the system

Recommendation
It is propably that the system ROM was erased during upgrade and the upgrade wasn't successfull. Try to download the Diamond 1.2 WM2003se(my recommendation) ROM images package(somewhere available at this forums(Himalaya Upgrade)) and aferwards to flash your device with these files. If u want,u can try also the WM05 system.
He said his device is an Xda IIi not the old II.. Well you can reinstall back ur old ROM, no worries.. Download from my-xda.com..

If you mean the Country ID Error while attempting to flash the WM05 system,there's a problem of this OS. 2003se is without problem(for me). Simply download the Diamond ROM from this topic:

This contains 4 files(maybe more,but these are important).
-HimaUpgradeUt.exe
-ms_.nbf (Extended ROM image)
-nk.nbf (System Image)
-Radio_.nbf (Radio stack)
Start the bootloader(probably you are there),put the Hima to cradle,Windows at your computer detects your device and then extract the downloaded file into one folder and run HimaUpgradeUt.exe
This utility is writing what you should do.
As I have readed that the WM05 OS is a little bit buggy(some compatibility problems etc..) at this time to use in Hima. Therefore I am using the 2003se.

Of course it does matter.. Remember that the II and IIi is now a really different device even though both looks identical.. For example, u said he can upgrade to WM2005 (or ROMs that was meant only for Xda II), but of course this can't be done, this is bcos the difference in hardware specs, 4 example IIi has 1.3 MP cam (II = 0.3MP), 128MB RAM, 128MB ROM (II=128MB RAM, 64MB ROM) and so on..

İ am a mda2 user. İve bought my device from Germany and after that i changed its ROM to an english one using a rom editor to change its country id .. This encouredged a close friend of mine and he bought a O2 XDA2i. And since both me and my friend have no idea about German language we immediately tried to convert it to an english ROM.
And using a wrong ROM (sinmerged 2003 se for himalaya) i killed his machine. It now only writes serial or usb (when connected to cradle). Someone told us that if we flash it with a original German ROM it can work again. But there is no German ROM downloadable . And even if we find a German Rom and install it , it wont solve our language problem. I am a dentist and i even cannot believe how much i've learned browsing these forums
If you can help me i will be very happy!
note : in the ftp server there is rom named german rom for xda2i.. But its a lie. its in english

I also have the same problem. I tried to install the wrong upgrade. I've downloaded the new one but i keep getting a connection problem message because activesync can't find the XDA. Help please!!!!

When you are in bootloader then ActiveSync will not find the device to synchronise with(cause the WMOS is not running and therefore is any synchronisation disabled). When you put into the cradle,the computer should find new device(Microsoft USB Sync). Then is the device connected and ready to update.
Well, finally I get my device running up again! Unfortunately I wont publish it, maybe I will charge for total solution.

I bricked mine and have just ubricked it. Its easy, connect USB to PC, enter bootloader, run any RUU wizard.
* Enter bootloader - Press and hold the camera key, then press the soft reset button. Hold the camera button until the bootloader menu shows it. You will see 3 different gradient colors.

I think, it's a good idea. Actually I thought about something like your thread but if you don't mind I will say something in your thread.
I've got the same problem as you've got. Moreover, I've seen a lot of users posting on this forum, which have got such a problem with their Heralds. They boot only in tri-color bootloader mode and even RUU dedicated to our models doesn't work, saying Error 300. When we are trying to use MTTY to run getdevinfo command, as a result we can see error message. That's why RUU can't check the right CID in our devices.
All known solution for Heralds don't work with our problem. We should develop or wait for being developed by someone (Olipro,pof,mestrini,...) suitable solution. There are fine solutions for bricked Wizard or Hermes so it should be the way to unlock our Heralds, too.
My idea is to count all users with bricked Heralds to see the size of the problem and to show our great developers on this forum that it is important to find a way to unbrick our Heralds. Or maybe we should establish the prize for the person who will be the first in finding the unbricking method and than donate him? I think it could motivate some of them...
So, all bricked Herald's users, please leave your post in this thread, to show the world that this is a huge problem!

I was thinking in something.. Do u remember PDAVIET first version for Prophet? You cannot flash PDAVIET WM6 directly.. U have to flash a special PDAVIET WM5 to prophet first, then PDAVIET WM6. And... when u got a bricked prophet device, the solution is...? PDAVIET WM5 special rom

Forced RUU? I know that the Univesal has an RUU to bypasses any and all checks and just starts flashing the ROM. I wonder if this would help... I assume the IPL is still fine unless it was overwritten in your devices because it's in a different memory address in devices with an SPL lower than 4.0.0.0. We would have to create our own RUU, though.
EDIT: After some research, this will not work. If the radio was damaged but the radio bootloader was not, there might still be hope, if the radio bootloader was damaged, then it's a no go.
Ive tried with Bepe's RUU (Polaris Premium BEPE ROM) but have no luck... maybe i should try to patch IPL/SPL in RUU check

I can tell you that roms arent good or bad... in every device we have diferent issues believe me... and everyone can said this is good to me but somebody said its the worst one! why?... cause its their points of view... be sure you have everything to upgrade before do it ok?

Its an old rom but if it is of your likely... first read the way to upgrade in G4 section of wizard forum maybe you miss a step...
Good luck the new ERA of Roms are the included Manila 2D in it... so give it a try is most prettier.

it seems my rom upgrade haven't solved one of my major problems.The GPRS connection is not working.I'm connecting to the network (Vodafone) but if i want to browse the internet internet explorer says :"The page cannot be found.Check the name and try again".

Most of roms has this kind of prob, cause the ccokers said that is better to conect via WIFI or USB stills a problem... but you can try and try again
One more thing maybe your carrier Configuration have missing something... acharacter... a number a dot..... i dont know men!

If you download any roms: wm6.5 is the latest, but wm6/6.1 is more reliable.

Well, I all set go for my first ROM update. But just the part of precaution, I'v a query!
I gone through many threads & wiki, which helped me like tutorial.
But if suppose the new ROM update gets crash with my Himalaya, is there any way to re-jump to the existing original ROM I do have in device now?
I mean, can I bounce back to original ROM, in case of new ROM update failure?? If yes, please guide me how??

if you list all the spec of your computer and the equipment that you have for your himalaya it would give me a clearer idea about upgrading for you.
2.Its ok it keeps me busy! my teacher has gave me 3 htc voxes to fix in the past. anyway.
a little story.
When i got my himalaya in march this year i was chufed at what it could do then i discoverd that the rom was out of date and that was why i couldnt install much. Then i found this place. I read up on some threads on updating and i saw it was possible. So i nervously followed the guide because i found that if anything went wrong the device could be rendered unuseable. But... I went ahead and flashed it and it worked. And the first rom i ever flashed was athers windows mobile 6 ultimate edition. Since then i have not yet found a rom as brilliant as stable as it.
so when upgrading things can go wrong. but dont be reluctant to flash a new rom.
and you would have to do a bit of research if you decided you wanted the original rom back.
btw how old are you?

Y'day I tried to do the process but I fell to upload Hard SPL (BTW I'm going for C_shekhsr's ROM)
I followed noobs guide, update the USB driver for vista, then went to bootload the device & try to force Hard SPL.
Following all given instructions also its showing connection error (Error 260, 264) & process stops, but in reality everything is well connected & correct.
Well, when Hard SPL program executing, I observe, it also not showing my old version @Upload (second stage of confirmation).
Is there any special process for O2 XDA II hard SPL & on vista os??
I followed all guides well; What do you think may b going wrong?
Hard SPL? whats that? i never had to use it.
regarding error no connection:
go to task manager and make sure something a long the lines of microsoft usb sync or something is installed. and then disallow all the connection settings in windows mobile device center.
oh and if it still doesnt work try it without hard spl because i didnt use it. and it works on 7 and xp.
oh and the rom im using now is WinMoB_6.1_OS_5.2.21109_Build_21109_-_Lite_WWE.

I load the Ather's dark ROM (WM 6.0) & its really nice, I'm enjoying a new look to my gadget.
Well, is it possible to install FM Radio on O2 XDA II? I tried the same from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=479572 but saying not related application after installing cab.
Do you have any clue for same??

The FM radio is a good idea but dont think it will work.
