Polaris SIM Unlocker & Hard-SPL

Yes folks... the one you've been waiting for... finally managed to get the patched AMSS to boot... a nice big "up your arse" to Qualcomm.
OK... so, here's the deal... download it, follow the instructions... NO, it won't work for your Kaiser/Artemis/Motorola MR1, so don't ask.
for those of you who are already Hard-SPL (and I mean those of you who didn't manage to completely **** up replugging their USB); you may skip Step 1 by running it, then cancelling the rom update immediately... however, there's really no harm in doing it again, just remember the golden rule:
your PDA *MUST* be in WM and happily synced with the PC BEFORE running each new step.

For a brand new SIMlocked (SFR-like ) Cruise, what would you advised?
CID unlock or SIM unlock first... ? The "better faster stronger ... " (Frenchy Daft Punk reference, as SFR may be the most discussed SIM locker ) method?

EDIT: as this package doesn't include any "readme" file (only includes exe), could you confirm that it does not require any process before? Is Hard-SPL update already included in this new pack?
Another detail: is there a requirement concerning the introduction (or not) of a SD and/or SIM card before updating ? And Sync or Reset (Hard/Soft) ?
A tuto of "what should be avoided" or example of "what should work" would be greatly appreciated!
If you can confirm that with a new original phone, ie. "without Hard-SPL", "without SD" "without SIM" "without reset" and only a USB sync, it's a good solution that should work, I try this ASAP! Thanks!

I was so excited that I couldn't wait for answers...
I tried this new binary, but my PC crashed/rebooted! please help!
I will try to explain as precisely as possible:
First, my system is Windows XP SP2. I was in "user mode" (not admin).
Then I connected my phone in USB, Sync (Ms Active Sync) and ran the PolarisUnlocker.exe.
Step1: I accept to flash Hard-SPL. I agree, and then the bar is displayed with 0%. My Phone asks for "accept the update" I say "yes". Then, the bar on PC is still at 0% and the PC reboots!!! After that crash, the phone is blocked on what should be the Hard-SPL screen? (a 3 color screen Polaris PFG SPL-1.00.1000 CPLD-2 with Replug USB Cable message at the top).
What should I do?
Please help, I'll do my best to give you all the feedback details.

EDIT: It seems that the only thing I can do now is removing the battery to put the Cruise OFF? Should I do a reset, and how? Any help would be greatly appreciated, I've no more phone (and of course can't sync anymore to apply the process again)!
Optional question (not really important compared to that crash consequences): Do you have an idea of the crash reason?
Does this PolarisUnlocker includes an update of the ROM and Radio part? If yes, it updates the version to a newer one?

Hallo, I have IPAQ rw6815 repaired by JTAG, but now I need to update with original ROM and hpRUU. Problem is that the hpRUU need the device ID: hp iPAQ rw6815 language: WWE and my device after JTAG repair answer as device ID: hp ipaq language: (none). Code 203: Update is incompatible. I try to use russian patched RUU language and model but isn't work. How I can change device ID to correct?? Thanx

I'd like to use the same program that is used to update via PC the modified rom, but I see that the ROM are 64001KB, so I need to know which bytes I need to cut or modify to make the original rom compatible with the updater software (the one called "Device Software Update Utility.exe").
Or if you have any other solution, please help me!

think you may need to find out whether any update method via sd-card?.
in ATOM/ATOM EXEC case, we must update os via bootloader mode. I'm not sure in HP device ... (should be similar) BUT please don't use ATOM bootloader file otherwise your device will be bump off again

perhaps before do via sdcard, just find out whether any procedure to update via bootloader mode. in ATOM we use CAMERA+reset and after goin to bootloader mode plugin the usb cable and run update software ... but again I'm not sure in hp rw6815 device.

btw: in atom ROM, we need to cut 12 byte before save to diskimg.nb0. so becareful as long your bootloader secure even your OS failed to update you still can see your phone up in botloader mode

IPL or SPL 3.08 failed formatting the partition RECOVERY

I am a great FAN of this section as I have flashed almost every WM6 or WM6.1 ROM into my charmer....
But the problem came the last month when I had a fialed Flashing of the ROM resulting in the hanging problem at the T-mobile Boot screen with IPL 3.08 and SPL 3.08!!!
As I have read almost every thread and discovered that a lot of others are facing the same problem wthout any satisfactory solution.....(Reason: on hard reset it says formatting failed!!!)
Infact the only story of recovery was from dorfdisko

But for me I could not get through this grim situation with the same result shown above error at 95%......
So I would like to request all the developers (especially dorfdisko the only lucky person coming out of this situation using the PROPHET ROM in someway!) to look into the matter systematically and develope some solution in the form of specially cooked ROM or something like this!!!

You can also try to flash the latest German ROM. (I do that with the English one when something fails.)
That may only work with the NoID RUU from the link above. It can work because the IPL and SPL of a German ROM have got other extended code numbers also they are the same version. They will overwrite the old ones and maybe that works.

And as regards your ROM file it didnt work either.
As the phone hangs again on the splash screen and on hard resetting it says format failed as ususal!!!
Now what can be done?

You may can't flash the File with the NoID ruu because your device isn't CDI unlocked. I'll search and maybe tell you things later.

The file was flased to the end but then that was the result as I described above!

Yes. It looks like flashed to the end. But the bootloader rejects everything and nothing will change. You can only flash with the original Utility with fitting code. Nothing else. Believe me it got never flashed.
And I've got an other idea:
You can format the Charmer over TTY. But I don't know about funktion in bootloader mode. And I would not recomend you to try it on your own. Maybe Vlodeck reads the thread. He should know more about it. Otherwise I can ask in Wizard forum for you.

OK I have a idea now. You can try with MTTY and I can tell you how.
First you need MTTY: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/uploads/mtty.exe
You need to have a full battery. (Otherwise you can power your phone with a AC adaptor with 3 4.5 or 5 volt. I can tell you the pin layout)
Put your device in bootloader mode (Press Camera while reseting).
Connect it to USB.
Start MTTY and choose USB.
Wait untill it is connected to the phone.
First type in task 32 and hit enter....Wait for feedback.
Then type task 28 and hit enter....Wait for feedback.
Now start a original ROM upgrade and let it run till the end.
Warning: Never restart your phone untill the Flashing is finished. Restarting the phone will kill your device completly.
If there are errors with the comands, for example Invalid comand please write me. I'll tell you what to do then.

Command wrong, need >set 32< and format all or format EXTROM, but you need Gold Card created QMAT programm and worked WM Phone to create GoldCard.

[Help] HD2 Stuck "Loading" Flash Stock ROM from SD

Hi guys.
First of all let give congratulations to all members of this site and developers for the stuff that bring to us, noobie users all day.
I have two problems with my HTC HD2 and let me try to explain. Sorry my English, im Portuguese. hehe
My story and HTC HD2 starts with one usb charging in my computer and after that the usb for charge and sync never works again. So, my battery went out and i need to buy one in ebay to try flash with original rom leo.
When i start flashing leo with one original rom, it give me an error during update and when i start after that show me a message with a attention signal say "Software update failed! Please try again.".
I try to flash again and the image stucks in "LOADING..."
My bootloader in starts are show in this picture :

I can not promise I will be able to help you out here. But for people to better help you it would be nice if you could post what exact ROM you are trying to flash from SD. Also what radio version the Rom has with it. Also you did rename your RUU_signed.nbh to leoimg.nbh right? Also please post what model of HD2 do you have, European, T-Mobile, etc.?

you flashed the wrong stock rom from sd card, it removed hspl and now the stock spl wont allow the rom flash to continue, hence RUU in th upper corner telling you it is in rom update mode.
bootloader - usb - hspl4 - 2.08.hspl - flash a rom.
OR
get a correct stock rom for your phone&region&carrier(your serial number) and flash it over usb, no need for hspl to do this.

ah ok, then get the correct stock rom for your phone, and flash it as leoimg.nbh.
it MUST be the correct stock rom for that phone, not just any stock rom, since any other stock would require hspl, which you cant have.
or, you could make a goldcard. If you have a faulty usb port, (is that the problem?) then a goldcard would be very useful since you cannot use HSPL.

Can you point me for the correct topic of goldcard ?
I dont know if is a faulty usb port because i think this happens because change the a lots of roms and android roms.
I already download the correct rom from htc with my serial. I extract with winzip and put in my class 4 8gb sd and stucks again in loading...

oh right, well 8gb cards rarely work anyway, for a start. certainly wouldnt work for a godlcard.
its not clear from your post, what kind of error do you get when you try to flash , example, hspl.exe through usb?

I have one sdcard 2gb, without any class to. With this i have the same problem.
I dont have any error, the loading stucks...
Trough usb i cant because my phone wont sync with pc at all.

it doesnt need to sync.
when you plug the usb cable in, on bootloader, does 'serial' change to 'usb'?
if yes, run hspl4.exe on the PC.

ahh ok, i think my first stop would be try another PC, and maybe usb cable too, see if it detects a usb connection, if not, then its prob the usb socket itself.

I already try that sam. I think problem is with usb port for flashing to much roms, because the usb port stops working when i try charging in a pc. After that doesnt work anymore.
I already try to see the goldcard but i dont understand much well the method.

well if you can find a working winmo mobile to borrow for 5 minutes, or are lucky enough to have a pci based sd card erader available, you can find the unique ID for an sd card, send it to me with an email address, and ill create you a file which you write (in a special way) to the sd card, and it magically allows you to flash any stock rom using leoimg.nbh.
Like a factory back door, if you will.
(Not sure if it works for custom roms, i dont think so)

i have the same problem with my LEO.
i tried flashing android but failed
now i only want to get back to wmo 6.5 but SD-flash doesnt work. Also by USB is impossible because the leo isnt recognized by 3 pcs with 2 different cables.

are you putting teh phone into bootloader? (coloured stripey screen) cos thats where you should usb flash from, when winmo isnt installed. (Well, actually its ALWAYS best to flash from bootloader, ..)

when i try to download an official ROM from http://www.htc.com/europe/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=297&cat=2&dl_id=1043 it says "Sorry, this software download is not suitable for your device.".
So where can i download stock ROM, and how can i understand wich is for my HD2?

Where's the phone from? Is it a contract phone or bought unbranded? What country?
Go to htc.com, select the country the phone is from, choose support, downloads, filter the list for rom updates, if the phone was contract look for a rom with that network in the name, if not try the rom with HTC in the name. If serial isn't accepted you made a mistake.
There are exceptions, cos some countries must sell phones unlocked, so a contract phone will still take the unbranded rom. Get the country right and start trying downloads till you get serial accepted.

I''ve found the ROM it was from Greece and followed this:
1. Place the LEOIMG.nbh on a 8GB or smaller microSD card. DONE
2. Remove the battery cover and press the Reset button.DONE
3. Hold the Volume Down and End Call (power) buttons at the same time.DONE
4. As soon as "Searching..." appears on the screen, release the Volume Down button. Searching is not showing

Im using 2Gb brand new and formated in FAT32

In that case it must be the leoimg.nbh, extract it again. (not just renaming the .exe are you? Wouldn't be the first)

The main reason this is NOT happening,is when your pc/laptop is missing certain drivers.
These are obtained from Activesync in XP,and WMDC in Windows 7.
Make sure you have the lastest versions,and try again.

4k (4096) alocation size? probably shouldnt matter, but worth checking everything, and since we are checking basics, do a full format, not a quick format.

It did change to USB i don"t know why it did not happened last time. But now how can i push the img?

Hi,
Extract with winrar or 7z the RUU_Leo_HTC_****************************_Ship.exe
find the larger *.nbh file and rename it to leoimg.nbh and place this file on an sd card that is 4gb or less
and reboot to bootloader (the one with 4 colors,hold volume down button until you see "SEARCHING")
follow the instructions from there
If the leoimg.nbh is on the root of your sd card,it will start itself.
Just follow the onscreen instructions.

But i"m stuck here for about 20min now ..... and nothing

does you phone got hot during update... try this: take out battery, sim card, memory card and put in fridge for 5-10 min - first put phone in a bag to protect for water, and then immediately try updating again.

It really gets a little hot. And i"ve noticed that when i remove the battery and put it back, connect the charger and light LED turns on but the phone never charges to full .... if it has something to do with the reflash
I"ll try this tonight
