Unusual memory message on Wing WM6

So I was using IE to look at the latest threads on xda-dev site and a weird error message pops up on the screen saying that memory was critically low and tha I had to close one of the open apps. I only had IE open at the time. The message listed the name of the running apps next to a radio button. I had to select an app to close by clicking on the corresponding radio button. The weird thing is, the list looked like this (* stands for radio button):
* Internet Explorer
* Phone
* Phone
* Phone
* Phone
* Phone
I selected the radio button next to the first instance of "Phone" and the error message went way and I was able to continue browsing in the IE session I was in. The strange thing is that it had several instances of "phone" in there. I had made several calls before this happened.. It looks like the software is opening a new instance of the phone app every time the phone is used, until the device runs out of memory. This may be the reason for the mysterious disappearance of memory on the wing. Anyone else experience this or something like it? Any expert opinions as to what this is about? Are there any apps out there that would allow me to see all running processes on my device, something like Windows Task Manager? The one that is included only shows user processes, not system or hidden ones.
Thanks for any info!
Have it too
I have the same experience with my P4350 and WM5 I didn't find any solution but honestly I didn't look for it yet.
Yup I've had the same thing happen. The Phone'S don't show up in the task manager and they only show up when you run out of memory! Phone doesn't take up that much memory but I can see it having a mild affect.

fickle browser

The web browser should be Google's most stable and capable app, that's where google should shine. I wont rehash all of my browser problems (yes I've tried 3rd party browser apps) because I trust google and ill be patient for software updates to make the browser more functional. But sometimes from the browser I press home, send a text and when I go back to browser I'm at my homepage but other times same sequence and I'm at the same page that I was on before I pressed home and sent the text. I know its not my task manager. I thought maybe it was a setting but sometimes it doesn't take me to my homepage and sometimes it does. Does anyone know how I can consistently go to browser and be at the page I was on when I last left the browser? I want it to restart via my task manager at the times I have it set to but I need to be able to press home, carry out various functions and still have the same website up. I'm almost positive its user error but I don't know what to do. And yes I used the goddammed stupid search function. Thanks for any help...
Android has a built in task manager itself, as well, that closes apps as need be to free up RAM for current processing. As well, if you have a 3rd party task killer, it can get pretty dicey, even if you have browser "excluded". Also, keep in mind that your task manager uses up RAM itself, and in all honesty is not needed unless you really want to close tasks, and in that case just use Astro.
Anyways, 99.9% of the time the browser is where I left it at. I would say 100%, but I can't be 1000% certain the browser has never been closed by the built in task manager.
I remember having that problem constantly with my G1 but haven't run into it yet with my N1. As the guy before said, its likely that the memory manager is killing the browser app. Here are a few questions I would look into:
1. Are you using an advanced launcher? This can open a NEW window, but won't close an old one
2. How many apps do you have installed? The more apps you have the more that will boot on startup, eating away at memory
3. How many messages do you have? Maybe there are so many that the messaging app is logging all the memory.
4. Are you running CM5 with the highmem hack? If not, this sounds like a good excuse for you to root.
I've noticed that if you launch the Browser by using Home <Long Press> it often tries to reload some previous page that you were at. If you launch the browser directly from the home screen / app tray, it doesn't do this.
Very weird.

need to restart every day, black screen, display stuck on HELP

my wildfire is working fine if i dont use heavy apps, but when im using a lot of apps, heavy apps, after a while it became unresponsive and show a black screen, itsactually still working as if i press in some place the screen it open the relative function but it keeps showing the black screen, its like its over used, i dont know, maybe with no more ram.
anyway i need to restart the phone, the restart menu with shut down, restart, plane mode etc options its not showing up too, i can just press the black screen where i think the restart option is and the phone start restarting. after restart it work fine.
this problem happens only when im usgin heavy apps, if i just call play music or read mail no problem found.
anyone got this problem? theres a way i could fix? or theres any app that have a function like in the iphone that pressing to buttons toghter all the open apps are closed so its like a soft reset, theres anything like this for android?
and otherwise theres a fast way to reboot the phone or something that can do the same as reboot without rebooting? like loggin of for windows?
Try a task killer
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
a standard task killer dont do nothing special, dont fix it, and is unuseful cause i cant access it when the phone is stucked on

Maybe not the issue with the ram.
And have u tried some task killers with great scheduled auto killing abilities (like "Advanced Task Killer"). And some of those utilities might allow u to set a threshold ram level at which the older apps should be killed. Don't know specifically, but pls search.
Try to hard reset your phone if you didnt till now,maybe you have some michelous app on your phone...something similar happens to me. And do not use task killer for "killing" apps...use it to force stop tasks or apps if you understund me. If you kill it on froyo thay come back 30 sec. after and if you once a day force stop apps that you dont use often you meke your phone go faster and stable.
Oh yea...I do hard reset once in 3 mounts an its take me 2h to slowly make it as he was before reset...and with same apps my phone have more space and its noticeably faster and stable.
actually i dont know the difference from kill and stop, how can i stop apps?

Galaxy S5 Marshmallow lag gallery after inactivity or after optimization

Hi
Excuse me if the argument was already treated, I really didn't find anything
I've got a problem that make me crazy.
After the upgrade from lollipop to marshmallow, I found the device quite more reactive and fluid, but an issue hide into the shadow.
That's my samsung gallery. It lag very much after a long unused time or if I do the optimization by the samsung smart manager. I made a video that's you can see on youtube by searching "galaxy s5 marshmallow lag gallery" , probably is the first video, my name is Mauro.
So, I've tried every kinda of solution, I completly remove any picture, of course removed the microSD card, clean cache and data, reset to the factory, so, every single option that I know, was tried.
The device is the G900F, was in spanish firmware (I'm italian) and finally I put the UK firmware 'cause it will upgrade more frequently.
I don't remember when I upgrade if it was immediately slow, but after some weeks of use it was.
Last week I reset all again, and the app was going good, but today again the lag.
When was resetted the gallery, after a long inactivity or after the clean by smart manager, takes 4 second and half to open the picture, starting by tap the app, then open the folder, tap the image and ready to work, instead, even closing the app, if it was recently opened, the gallery is really quick, just the time to tap and it open, around 2 second and half o little more.
Now, it make me mad, for the same process, so after a long inactivity , the same picture, positioned in the same place, it take over 6 seconds.
I've already removed the app under the safe battery by trying to exclude from the Doze, but nothing change.
Do you have some ideas? No one have the same problem?
Edit:
New more test. I've try to circumscribe who do what, and in the smart manager is the optimization of the ram that's makes lag the gallery.
Well, how can I solve this problem? I suppose, when the phone is unused for a long time, something inside decide to kill my gallery, though when I looking the multitasking, the gallery app seems already opened, infact when I click, if it was for example, in the camera gallery, it returns right there but with a long time of loading, I repeat, around 6/7 seconds

black bar and some pop up ads

Hi,
Today, I started seeing two weird things and have no idea if they are related.
- sometimes, while I am using any app like facebook, browser, or even dial, out of no where I see a black bar appearing at the top of the screen and at the bottom a hand icon appears beside the back button. I pressed this hand it showed me a message (game in progress swipe to unlock) as if I am playing a game in the game launcher.
- a pop up ad appears in the middle of the screen out of no where and I just close it.
I checked the recent app's, I got no clue, I didn't install any new app. the last one I have installed was a week ago.
I checked battery usage and didn't find anything suspicious.
any clue what is that?
Thanks,
i think its related to an app, did you install useless apps like clean master , antivirus , battery saver , speed booster etc etc? or check your downloaded stuff on a file manager, like apks or strange files, even if the app is not installed because sometimes on some websites there is suspicious stuff downloaded automatically
or try to do the big cleanup I mean delete everything you dont use anymore or dont need , maybe it can help
and check on settings/apps/3dots/special access /draw over other apps and see which apps are allowed to pop up and appear on top of other apps

Happy to see that it helped when I install apps that don't come from Samsung, google, electronic arts etc , I mean developer I don't know , I always check on the settings/apps/ the concerned app or game, and see all of its permission to see if its normal for the app category. I mean a game that request access to camera,contact , dialer location storage.. display on top or change system preferences, you can uninstall because all of permissions are not hazardous but for a purpose and sometimes an app is just a pretext
