Hey All,
I have nexus 4.. I was on stock rom 4.4.2 and suddenly three days back my phone started to be weird.. I see randomn touches on my phone. ( i have enable option show touches in devloper options..)
I was using art runtime..
So when i press the power button and lock the phone twice then i unlock it runs normally..
But these started to occur very frequently..
When it happens it freezes my phone or you can say touchscreen doesnt work sometimes it just freezes..
So i decided to Factory rest my phone i thought it was some apps having bug..
But it was still happening..
So I finally installed Cm11 with the installer.. I still have the issue...
Any Solutions?
It first showed when i was charging my phone but later it happened when i was not even charging ..
This has happened to me before. Call Google to begin an RMA and replace your phone if you're still under warranty

Roote Zuk Z1 , running COS with latest update, i have this problem: phone display wakes up by itself after i lock the phone. What could trigger these wakes? Does anyone have the same problem?

Use original theme
I had the same problem. Get back to the original theme. And every thing will go us you like
Since the posting relates to my recent post - my quick update:
I am and I always was on stock theme - after rebooting my phone the problem seems to be solved for me-
since it doesn't wake again by itself.
I think it's something app related- I haven't found the one app that causes the trouble- Now I track all the apps I open to find out.
Well, guys, it seems it solved. One day, the phone was again waking by itself. I thought it might be related to the Adaptive Brightness. I deactivated the adaptive brightness, and phone went nuts locking by itself every time i was trying to wake him. No chance to power off or acces any menu. So i connected to PC, and using Lenovo ZUK toolkit i rebooted the phone. Since then, i haven t noticed the random wakes anymore.
Random wake
1. Turnoff autobrightnes
2 Turnoff doubleTap to wake
3, Turnoff "prevent random wakes "
Profit!
The issue doesn't seem to be fixed in the latest COS I have this issue. My device is STOCK and NOT rooted. With indeed autobrightness enabled it keeps unlocking when you reboot the problem is gone. Really frustrating ..
Hard Reset did the trick

Strange thing is if it appears to happen after a few days of usage without reboot I started to play a little bit with the settings and found out it really is the option "Prevent accidental unlocking with proximity sensor". The proximity sensor works flawlessly so it's really a software bug I guess.

Hey guys. Is this related to the random reboot problem. For 20 days my phone never rebooted even once, then it started rebooting. It is still doing so after the latest OTA. Is it a hardware problem or trying solutions mentioned here solved it for someone?

Hello XDA:fingers-crossed:
So straight to the topic, from last night my device is freezing horribly and it has become impossible to use it, its not even responding to my touch or when it does takes like 5 minutes to unlock the screen. IDK why is it happening because i haven't installed any new app from last week, device is totally stock. I remember it heated up suddenly last night when it was idle in state, so i switched it off because i was sleeping. I woke up in the morning and turned it on and from that time its behaving horrible.
Things i tried
Cleared cache from recovery - No help.
Turned it on to safe mode - Works without any problem.
Turned it on to normal mode & turned on No background limit, show all ANR & No background services - Works without any problem.
So it is confirmed that some kind of app in my phone is hogging the CPU terribly. I made a logcat & tried to read it but cannot figure out whats wrong so i am attaching it here for someone who can help.
Thanks.

Reset you device.
Can you tell the apps which you installed on your device?

Sorry for the late reply. I have figured out what was the problem, idk if it can be called a bug or not.
The scenario is, when you have alarm set for same time in the default clock app and in any 3rd party alarm app you are using, device lags terribly and makes it unusable.
Occasionally my phone will just go crazy, screen will get all jittery, touching on a menu doesn't work ,it mainly happens on noughat stock and custom ROMs.,random apps popping up.any experience anything like that?a simple reboot fixes the problem.

It's an inherent issue with some displays present on the Moto G4. It most often happens when you charge your phone. Too much current builds into the frame of the display and you get weird ghost and jitter touches.
No way around it unless you send it in, and even then it may be only a temporary fix.
I also face this issue. Unable to find solid solution for this. Finally i decied to go for custom rom like RR and Invicta. This still comes occasionally(when Heats too much during phone charging)

On my phone this happens while not charging. Seems to happen about one out of every 3 times the phone is unlocked using the fingerprint sensor. Locking the screen and unlocking via a pin seems to be a reliable way of getting past the issue. Though occasionally it happens on the pin entry screen before it the pin has been entered. Needless to say, it IS annoying.
Same problem which is fixed.
I had this problem with the factory firmware too, intermittent bouts of the phone going crazy with phantom touches on my Moto G4. I sent it to Motorola/Lenovo after the supplier gave me their phone number and they did find the problem and fix it. Now I can play graphic intensive games even during fast charge and the phone is awesome for once. : )
Please note they will fix it for free if in warranty and bootloader not yet modified.
Pressing power button to turn off the display and then pressing power button again to turn the display back on will provide temporary relief from jittery screen. I noticed that the jittery screen has twice subsided over time but came back twice immediately after OS upgrade so blaming the problem on charging, or hardware doesn't seem accurate.
Updated 5/20/2018
As a last ditch effort prior to buying a replacement phone I deleted all apps I installed, reset phone and reinstalled fresh copies of most if the apps I needed.
I don't recall every thing I did but my focus was to delete everything I could and then reset phone back to factory state. After reinstalling, my jittery problem went away and has not returned. Your millage may very, so no promises. Phil
. I have touch screen issue(ghost touch) but this time not screen burn issue.. Now there is in winter.. I have checked battery temperature with ex kernel manager. phone going crazy
Hi,
I am having the same exact problem. I have observed that Google Assistant is intruding because each time this happens, Google Assistant is trying to run. Reboot is a temporary fix but the problem persists. I have removed most of the third party apps just to see if anything changes but it did not work.
This is not something that was happening from the start. I have the phone for about 2 months put the problem only started a couple weeks ago. I would love to hear if there is a solution and what. Thanks
Sadly, but compared to the issues visible indoors, in outdoors this Lenovo gift turns complete crap:
youtu.be/dTcHclVEfCg
"Lenovo Moto Z2 Force touchscreen gets completely unusable when getting outdoors! The video is made at about 0 degrees Celsius. So it takes about 30 sec from getting MotoZ2 Frc to sleep with pwr btn (and wakeing up back) to see the touchscreen goes crazy. At -10C, it takes ~5 sec. At +15-20C, after several min it becomes unresponsive and have to use pwr button to recover.
Lenovo, what you have done to Motorola ?!!"
Can it be fixed somehow with changing the upper protective part? I have seen comments that the touchscreen can stop working completely, if peel off the cover part..
