Post a picture of "About tablet" with MCU and firmware information.
Otherwise there is no help possible.
BTW... As we don´t know which exact unit you bought, you need to deliver the information if there is a SIM-slot available or are you using a USB stick with SIM?

Hey Guys,
Just by chance, I found a cracked note 3 on the street today and brought it home. the screen all works but one problem is that I can't seem to connect to any mobile network. It is a Note 3 SM-N9005 which seems to have originally come from Vodafone australia.
The original sim was in it but it doesn't connect and I tried my Optus sim which also did not work. I tried to register on the network in the settings menu but it would just load and then not do anything. The settings show that it is disconnected from a network but still gets a signal.
When I try to call it also says mobile network unavailable! I have done a google search but to no avail. Most info is American but I am an Australian user.
I also get a circle icon with a dash through it in the status bar where there should be a network icon? I haven't owned many Samsungs before, so I would appreciate your help!!
I have attached some screenshots which show more info. CAN SOMEBODY HELP? I would really like to ressurect this awesome device! And if I succeed, then it will replace my current daily HTC One M7. THANKS in advance!
and no the phone is not stolen, i'm telling the truth. phone was reset and there is no evidence of any owner info. tried searching for google account, facebook account and that samsung apps account thing but nothing was there.

Why don`t you take it to the police, if you `found` it. I`am sure the original owner will appreciate that, as would you

Not saying you had anything to do with it, but these kind of posts appear to be suspicsious
And remove imei number from your thread.

Install an app from Playstore named;
"PhoneInfoSamsung"
And verify.
Hi
thanks for reply ive downloaded the app & run it it provides lots of info but i dont know exactly what im looking for ?
If you can see your carrier listed, it's not a live demo unit. Those things have no baseband chip.
cant see my carrier but can call emergency services would that mean that there is a baseband chip or modem ?

Do a refurbishment check of your phone using that app. And see what it says.
Hi
it tells me that the serial number appears to be 00000000000.
for better results check sticker behind battery
so i did it says "it looks like your phone is a refurbished one
WARNING: your phone does not match with serial number
WARNING: your phone does not have hardware revision information.
NOTE: The knox warranty has been tripped

Oh. Can you share ScreenShots from the PhoneInfo app.?
Depending on the above statement "it looks like your phone is a refurbished one", "your phone does not match with serial number" and "your phone does not have hardware revision information". I think your phone is refurbished, which means it might be a live demo unit.

You tripped the Knox?
I guess you are right. It seems to be a live demo unit.
Because some fields are missing like Country of Origin, Original CSC code, Samsung Serial number and Hardware revision.
This guy @vndnguyen can put some more light on this.

Since your phone has imei number, it is not a live demo unit, as a demo unit does not have imei.
But your phone is the refurbished one, as the hardware has been changed and modified.
Can you show a picture (hi-resolution) of the Back Sticker (under the battery) for further checking?

If you use the menu > Other Tools > S/N Decoder to decode the S/N on the back sticker, the manufacturing date is January 2014.
While the manufacturing date in the phone is 10/2013.
That means the phone's mainboard has been replaced, I think.
I thought when you boot a demo unit, it show the Note 3 words then underneath it says demo unit?

Hi
i think it usually does say demo unit but if another rom has been flashed then that must take it away
but if i call the emergency services (999 uk) then does that mean its not a demo because it must have the necessary
internal parts to connect to mobile network ?

Hello vattmann,
Do you still own the above talking device (N9005)?
If so, I would like to ask you for some more info.
Sorry for disturbing you.
I would like to know if someone could help me, i got a V20 VS995
I bought a cell phone that is supposed to be unlocked and when I put the sim card, it does not recognize it, I tried with 4 sim cards and it does not recognizes it, it always get the same message ´sim card not inserted´
the ebay seller told me to reset the phone and also reset the network settings, and switch the phone from global to lte / gsm / umts, and this does not work either. the phone also does not let you save a new apn, the apn list is empty and there is no way you can add a new apn.
and so, I updated the phone to the latest version and the same message keeps appearing... ´sim card not inserted´so I downgrade the firmware 2 times (stock) and at this moment it has the first firmware again:
VS99512A
B16.LGE.VS995.0
COMPILATION NUMBER
NRD90M
I also try the app
hiddenmenucall and when selecting the option lg hidden menu or OIT hidden menu the application closes (does not work)
I am not root
What else can I do?

Seller does not have to respond, call paypal and say the item is not as advertised and you got something different. You are protected up to 180 days with paypal, file a claim with them. But if you bought the phone, stated: broken parts or not working, paypal will not return your money. As you have been warned that its not working and you buying the phone as is. The only thing to do at this point is try paypal, if that does not work, file a chargeback with your credit card company. Keep in mind, that if you do that, you need to provide proof and details and transactions and may take few months or so to resolve. They will give you the credit in the meantime, but if they find out, its not a valid reason they will take back your credit until the investigation is complete.

Any insight on what changed config to b16.leg***? I can't find any info on it and I have two v20 vs995's stuck on b16. Both were rooted and working great until I flashed a firmware update from androidfilehost. Lost root and recovery access on both. Any help would be appreciated.
Hi All
I'm looking for some help please!
I have fitted a Chinese Android Head Unit to my car. I have a 4G/Wi-Fi modem into which I have fitted an O2 Pay-as-You-Go SIM Card. The SIM card connects to the HU by USB, but rather oddly the modem uses Wi-Fi to connect to the Head Unit (for some reason not using the faster and more reliable USB, but that's not the question).
So, I can connect to the Internet and use up the time on the SIM card - that's all OK, but, O2 will only top up the card or tell me the outstanding credit if I answer a text message that they send to the SIM card - which of course has no idea what to do with a text as it isn't in a mobile phone. Their security question is "what is your most dialled number ?" - but I don't ever dial out. So I have to top up blind by going to the O2 shop and handing over cash!
The 4G/Wi-Fi modem is now in the cars roof column so not easy to get at!
Do you have any suggestions as to how I can top-up? My ideas were:
a) Find an app that turns the Head Unit into a mobile phone that can receive and make texts
b) I know that the 4G/Wi-Fi modems you plug into laptops come with software that allow the provider to connect directly (without texts). Is there one of these for Android?
Hopefully I am just not looking in the right places - I don't want any solution to involve my mobile phone as the idea is that my car can support me if I lose my phone.
Cheers
James
Well.. I just googled "02 sim top up"
seems like auto-top up is a thing. and it seems that you can install a "my o2" app, on the headunit or phone, and see the balance on there..
maybe have to put the sim in another device to get a text to link it to a account or something.
Hi pafo42
That was easy - thanks, I'll give it a try.
I did go on line to O2 and consulted two of their 'Gurus' on different occasions. Suffice it to say they were completely useless. Well I'm assuming that they are Gurus in the sense of an authorititve teacher, but I guess they are Gurus in the sense of being Hindu Spiritual Leaders and so have no particular knowledge of Mobiles and Android, etc.
It will be interesting to see if my Head Unit comes up with the same display as a phone - not sure about the fingerprint part either but it is an avenue to explore.
I also searched Google play for an app but I guess I failed there!
Cheers
James
