Install an app from Playstore named;
"PhoneInfoSamsung"
And verify.
Hi
thanks for reply ive downloaded the app & run it it provides lots of info but i dont know exactly what im looking for ?
If you can see your carrier listed, it's not a live demo unit. Those things have no baseband chip.
cant see my carrier but can call emergency services would that mean that there is a baseband chip or modem ?

Do a refurbishment check of your phone using that app. And see what it says.
Hi
it tells me that the serial number appears to be 00000000000.
for better results check sticker behind battery
so i did it says "it looks like your phone is a refurbished one
WARNING: your phone does not match with serial number
WARNING: your phone does not have hardware revision information.
NOTE: The knox warranty has been tripped

Oh. Can you share ScreenShots from the PhoneInfo app.?
Depending on the above statement "it looks like your phone is a refurbished one", "your phone does not match with serial number" and "your phone does not have hardware revision information". I think your phone is refurbished, which means it might be a live demo unit.

You tripped the Knox?
I guess you are right. It seems to be a live demo unit.
Because some fields are missing like Country of Origin, Original CSC code, Samsung Serial number and Hardware revision.
This guy @vndnguyen can put some more light on this.

Since your phone has imei number, it is not a live demo unit, as a demo unit does not have imei.
But your phone is the refurbished one, as the hardware has been changed and modified.
Can you show a picture (hi-resolution) of the Back Sticker (under the battery) for further checking?

If you use the menu > Other Tools > S/N Decoder to decode the S/N on the back sticker, the manufacturing date is January 2014.
While the manufacturing date in the phone is 10/2013.
That means the phone's mainboard has been replaced, I think.
I thought when you boot a demo unit, it show the Note 3 words then underneath it says demo unit?

Hi
i think it usually does say demo unit but if another rom has been flashed then that must take it away
but if i call the emergency services (999 uk) then does that mean its not a demo because it must have the necessary
internal parts to connect to mobile network ?

Hello vattmann,
Do you still own the above talking device (N9005)?
If so, I would like to ask you for some more info.
Sorry for disturbing you.

hi everyone,
It's my first time i post on this forum, i am a noob.
In brief i just brought an GALAXY NOTE 3 (SM-N9005) a week ago from a seller but just yesterday i realized that my phone work only on GSM and can t pick up 3G signal at all even if i am in a area where there is cover. i searched the net hours and hours but didn t find a clear answer.
Please can someone figure out what is the problem and how to fix it.
Here are my information:
I am from Morocco,my operator is MEDITEL(i tried others operators here "INWI" and "IAM" it doesn t work either no 3G signal ), my Note 3 is under KitKat 4.4.2,
For more information about the phone look at the screenshots in the attachement.
The phone is STOCK not ROOTED i didn t mess anything yet.
The phone is from Spain and the carrier is Orange because at boot the is the orange boot logo.
It will be soo nice if anybody can help me. I really like my phone but if it doesn t work like it should its a shame. Here in morocco high end smartphones are expensive and no warranty unless you buy it from from samsung store where is more expensive.

Yes it might be the problem with CSC, but:
- Did you try your SIM card with another smartphone and have success with the 3G connection?
- In the Phone INFO *Samsung* app, enter the Menu and select [Note 3] Fake Detector, tell me what does it say? What is the Diag Code?

1- This error related to my app. I will fix it soon. Sorry about that.
2- There is a big chance that your phone is a refurbished one. Because it has NONE manufacturing date, and the IMEI does not match with the one on the label.
Can you PM me full info from the Phone INFO app?
---------- Post added at 07:13 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:26 PM ----------
I have looked at your screenshots you sent me.
Your device doesnt have manufacturing date and hardware revision info, so the big chance is that your phone is a refurbished one.
If you can return it to the shop where you bought, I think it is the best choice for you now.
Sorry to say about that.

Could you please update the app from Play Store (v1.5.0), then enter the Menu and select '[Note 3] Fake Detector', and check for the Diag Code again?
Thank you.

I called the seller and he told me to bring back the phone so he can find what is the problem. For returning the phone i don t think he will accept, firstly ther is no warranty and secondly the phone was sealed with samsung,he didn t open the box then its not he's fault.
If he didn't fix it i will just live without 3G
Thanks a lot vndnguyen and sorry for wasting your time. Btw flashing another modem (CSC) wouldn't fix it?

I Live in Finland. 3 month I used DNA operator, was all perfect. Now I connect to Sonera and work only 2G connection.
I flashed 3 different ROM, flashed 2 different modem ROM, finally I flashed 4 files Poland ROM and use it like it is.
2G worked propertly, 3G don't connect.:crying:
Mobile broadband work correct at all settings.
Can't find way out...
Hey Guys,
Just by chance, I found a cracked note 3 on the street today and brought it home. the screen all works but one problem is that I can't seem to connect to any mobile network. It is a Note 3 SM-N9005 which seems to have originally come from Vodafone australia.
The original sim was in it but it doesn't connect and I tried my Optus sim which also did not work. I tried to register on the network in the settings menu but it would just load and then not do anything. The settings show that it is disconnected from a network but still gets a signal.
When I try to call it also says mobile network unavailable! I have done a google search but to no avail. Most info is American but I am an Australian user.
I also get a circle icon with a dash through it in the status bar where there should be a network icon? I haven't owned many Samsungs before, so I would appreciate your help!!
I have attached some screenshots which show more info. CAN SOMEBODY HELP? I would really like to ressurect this awesome device! And if I succeed, then it will replace my current daily HTC One M7. THANKS in advance!
and no the phone is not stolen, i'm telling the truth. phone was reset and there is no evidence of any owner info. tried searching for google account, facebook account and that samsung apps account thing but nothing was there.

Why don`t you take it to the police, if you `found` it. I`am sure the original owner will appreciate that, as would you

s4 9505 product code : not active - what does it mean ?
It it related with device problems (forgets wifi passwords, 4g connects but not working, etc)it tell mi that in Phone INFO ★Samsung★ APK.

please help!!!!
Sorry for my English.
Post the output from Phone Info. However, a product code of "not active" is a bad sign. Because when you see that, more than likely the IMEI is also gone. Phones like this usually require servicing, though the more experienced members of the forum will correct me if I'm wrong.
Thank's for answering!
This wat i see on the apk!
The imei its there!!
Great, now remove the pic so your IMEI doesn't get cloned. However, that's not all the information Phone Info provides. PDA and CSC information is useful, along with the model number Phone Info reports, compared to what the label beneath the battery says.
I was unlucky wen I bought this phone the first min board was dead won't turn on.
This screen shot it's from the second one bought online on the famous international site and i receive it within label!!!
Can i fix it or not? ??
Thanks

Based upon what you've provided, the firmware you should be using is here. The firmware you have on there is the German DBT firmware, based upon the CSC code in the screenshot.

It's clearly not a Frankenstein, so that's good news. What carrier are you using?
In the first pic at the last line you can read imei cert:NA that mean that your phone has loose its imei certificat.
so you can return it and have your money back or give it to a sepecialized shop to push a new certificat with a box
PS: i have an i9500 and mine show : Imei cert: fail
@sentinelle20: "IMEI Certi: NA" is normal on the S4. I can confirm this because my S4 has the same readout and yet it works perfectly. On the S5 it may make a difference. See here for details.
Ok ggod to know...
in my working i9500 the last line says imei cert : pass

yes my sim work,s fine in any phone , i tried many sim in my phone but result is same. please tell me why some time phone work properly ? do you think its a hardware problem? because i upgrade its room many time but same result.
If you've tried multiple SIM cards in the S4 and all of them aren't working, then you definitely have a hardware issue. Either the SIM card tray has died or the fault lies in the motherboard. From experience, replacing the SIM card tray is both the least expensive route and the easiest, being something that you can do yourself. Replacement trays cost about US$10, a small phillips screwdriver, a half hour of your time, and the foam pad that sits on top of the connector of the original tray.
You purchased this as a refurb unit however, so you should have a warranty of some sort. Take it back to where you got it from and have them look at it.
So I bought an At&t branded s7 edge from Bestbuy (preorder) and decided to submit a request to at&t for an unlock code. I opened up the "about phone" and located the "IMEI information" tab and typed the IMEI listed, however I got an error that told me the IMEI was no a valid at&t IMEI, so i double checked the IMEI and it was typed in correctly. So I got to thinking maybe ill just check what the box says... Strangely the box has a DIFFERENT IMEI printed on it than what the software on the phone says. What do I do now?
Did the box have a seal when you got it from Bestbuy? You could take it to them and show them the issue to see what they say. It sucks that we no longer have a user replaceable battery or you could have checked under the battery to see if the printed IMEI matches the one on the box.

Yeah the box was sealed. *#06# also reports the IMEI the same as the software. The Box IMEI also comes back as an invalid At&t IMEI... I'm at a loss for words....

That's crazy! When you login to your ATT account, what IMEI does it show? Maybe try calling ATT and see if they can help.
IMEI Drama
I have a similar problem... bought an unlocked verizon s7 at a store kiosk in a mall in Fort Lauderdale and transferred my Alpha's sim to it. AT&T, however, doesn't recognize the IMEI. It seems that until I get the IMEI issue fixed I can't use MMS... Since I have a working SIM I can use the phone, but a call to AT&T support got me a response of, "sorry, sucks to be you..." I'm not sure how to get an IMEI recognized by AT&T, any suggestions?
I think the problem is that you guys are inputting the last two digits from the IMEI on the box, hence invalid output.
Don't forget only 15 digits from left to right!
