Problem with my product code!!!!! Help - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

s4 9505 product code : not active - what does it mean ?
It it related with device problems (forgets wifi passwords, 4g connects but not working, etc)it tell mi that in Phone INFO ★Samsung★ APK.
link google play:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vndnguyen.phoneinfo&hl=it
please help!!!!
Sorry for my English.

Post the output from Phone Info. However, a product code of "not active" is a bad sign. Because when you see that, more than likely the IMEI is also gone. Phones like this usually require servicing, though the more experienced members of the forum will correct me if I'm wrong.

Thank's for answering!
This wat i see on the apk!

The imei its there!!

Great, now remove the pic so your IMEI doesn't get cloned. However, that's not all the information Phone Info provides. PDA and CSC information is useful, along with the model number Phone Info reports, compared to what the label beneath the battery says.

I was unlucky wen I bought this phone the first min board was dead won't turn on.
This screen shot it's from the second one bought online on the famous international site and i receive it within label!!!
Can i fix it or not? ??
Thanks

SOFTWARE information

Based upon what you've provided, the firmware you should be using is here. The firmware you have on there is the German DBT firmware, based upon the CSC code in the screenshot.

Is the IMEI change only locally relevant on the XDA??

Hi all
I was wondering if anyone knew the answer to the above question.
to explain a bit better:
If i change the IMEI on my XDA it will obviously show up on the phone. What i want to know is will the network see the new of old IMEI. Ie whis is sent out by the phone.
Also:
From that i have found out the new service which blocks off stolen phones work that runs in the UK work by the IMEI code of the phone.
How do i make sure i don't change my IMEI to a number that is registered as stolen and in turn block my phone off.
Also again:
If at a later stage my phone does get blocked will changing it back to the original IMEI unblock it?
After all this i'm wondering if i should bother changing the IMEI. Although it would be nice to have my DOB there.
Oops I think I posted this in the rwong place!!
To Adminstrators:
Sorry
If it is in the wrong place could you move it?
The IMEI is stored in two places: one is displayed, the other is used to send to the network. The Manipulator changes both locations. The chance you'll change your IMEI to one of a stolen phone is small, very small. (It's six digits if you exclude the manufacturer part, so the chance is definitely bigger than getting hit by a meteorite, but still)
We included the IMEI change bit because:
a) We could
b) Privacy concerns: we'd like to live in a world where people can have multiple identities that are hard to connect, even if their opponents happen to run the country / telco.
WOW!!
Thanks for the great answer. As soon as it is possible to change my imei and unblock my phone i'll be doing it. (I have version 4.20 so it don't work yet).
Does anyone know of a web site where it list all the imei that are recognised as stolen or a number i can call in the UK to find out. The local police are useless and don't know anything.
A number to report a stolen phone would be useful as well cos my little sis got her knicked.

Cant register phone (e-club)

Hey guys, newb here...Ive tried to register my phone bought from expansys.ca on the e-club site. it wont work though, says its not a HTC product or something along those lines.
Can anyone help?
thanks in advance,
Tom
Did you select the right product? And was your IMEI numbers correct? Sometimes it reads 17 digits when you press *#06# and the first 15digits is only your IMEI!
Still, HTC e-club has lot of bugs where it wont send activation mails to many..
I was copying the exact number beside "S/N" on the batterie.
Dial *#06# does it give the same number? STill, dont worry dude, any specific reason for HTC e-club when xda and other sites are better
No it doesnt give the same number, actually its completely different...Why would that be?

It is correct that it is a completely different number. E-club asks for your serial and the #*06* gives you the IMEI-code these are supposed to be different. S/N can only be handled by the manufactorer, IMEI is completely unique for every device.
I tried the same today, and after leaving out the character that comes after the S/N it stated that my device is branded, so not a typical HTC device. Mine is Vodafone, your's might be modified by your provider.
I have a question myself though... How can I update to WM6, since I don't have access to e-club updates, because my device is branded?

Unlock from imei unlock and flash any ROM, or you can wait until Vodafone releases an update. Btw the e-club only benefits (actually not really sure what you benefit from this site) users with P4350's branded by HTC, and regarding the posted WM6 rom on their site there are much faster mirrors posted around the web.
I guess the main question to ask is : what is your phone?
If you are trying to register a phone that isn't an actual HTC BRAND phone like a T-mobile Wing or whatever ... then it won't let you. If I try to register my TMO wing on there, it will say the same thing that it's not an HTC product.

Imei 00440000350111201

Hello everybody.
From what I have seen the last few days, in this forum and in HTC Spain, there are a lot of us who have the same problem. I've an HTC Touch (P3450, or Elf) that started with strange and spontaneous resets (I think you call it "Data crash") after being flashed. Also, the IMEI detected by the system changed to the number everyone's getting:
IMEI 00440000350111201.
This IMEI appears when *#06# is entered; it also appears in Start > Settings > System >Device Information > Identity.
I think this is the IMEI I'm sending to the service network. Of course, that IMEI is blacklisted, so I don't have signal nor service at all. Anyhow, "deviceinfo" (by dsixda) does read the correct IMEI. Therefore, I assume that the device DOES have the correct IMEI in the eprom (or wherever it is stored), but the OS, or the bootloaders or whatever, isn't reading it well (the weird thing is that everybody ends up with the same IMEI because of that error).
Well, we know that the "changing IMEI" subject is illegal and nobody wants to discuss that in public forums, but I ask you to leave the thread open in case anyone knows or reaches eventually to a solution.
Cheers from Argentina-
Juan Pablo.
IMEIs numbers are expensive for phone manufacturers...
So, when mading a copied phone, some chineese manufacturers are using the same IMEI for a lot of devices...
Do your device is a real HTC, or it is a fancy chinese name like THC, HiTC, etc... ?
If it's a legal one, just bring it back to the carrier or the seller, and you'll have without a doubt a new one...
If it's an... HiTC... Then... You payed for what you've got... **** ! Sorry...
And if the problem is caused by the flashing, it's certainly because the provider of the ROM have left its own IMEI in the ROM...
This thread explain the problem http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=456082
Well , i've been banned for this post ...
I want to make myself clear .. that's NOT my IMEI , not even a legal one i guess ... maybe the moderator misundestood my problem and didn't take the tome to read what I was explaining.
Then again ... THAT IMEI NUMBER APPEARS IN ALL THE PHONES WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. THE EXACT SAME NUMBER.
Ok , I hope it's clear now.
Thank you both for your replies. I keep looking for an explanation and solution for my problem , I'm even in contact with HTC about this.
Thanks again.
this is a legal thread as many of the samsung, Asus and htc WM phone's imei number changing exact that imei on the header just after a unperfect rom upgrade.
Wishing to change someone's imei number as it's original condition is called REPAIRING IMEI, NOT Changing its to another one.

Where is my device from?

i have a Touch Diamond 2 but i would like to know where the handset originates from so that i can update it with the relevant ROMS etc. The ROM is 1.39.488.1 but i have no idea where it is from. Is there a website or link that allows you to identify its origin?
Thanks Guys!
I know when I contacted HTC support I had to provide my phone's serial number (available on the box the phone came in or underneath the battery) and they told me which country corresponded to that serial number in their reply. I'm sure if you just went to the support from on htc.com and asked them if they could tell you where your phone is from so you could get the relevant upgrades etc they would. It shouldn't take long for someone to reply either, they got back to me about 15 minutes after I sent my query. Hope this helps.

Install an app from Playstore named;
"PhoneInfoSamsung"
And verify.
Hi
thanks for reply ive downloaded the app & run it it provides lots of info but i dont know exactly what im looking for ?
If you can see your carrier listed, it's not a live demo unit. Those things have no baseband chip.
cant see my carrier but can call emergency services would that mean that there is a baseband chip or modem ?

Do a refurbishment check of your phone using that app. And see what it says.
Hi
it tells me that the serial number appears to be 00000000000.
for better results check sticker behind battery
so i did it says "it looks like your phone is a refurbished one
WARNING: your phone does not match with serial number
WARNING: your phone does not have hardware revision information.
NOTE: The knox warranty has been tripped

Oh. Can you share ScreenShots from the PhoneInfo app.?
Depending on the above statement "it looks like your phone is a refurbished one", "your phone does not match with serial number" and "your phone does not have hardware revision information". I think your phone is refurbished, which means it might be a live demo unit.

You tripped the Knox?
I guess you are right. It seems to be a live demo unit.
Because some fields are missing like Country of Origin, Original CSC code, Samsung Serial number and Hardware revision.
This guy @vndnguyen can put some more light on this.

Since your phone has imei number, it is not a live demo unit, as a demo unit does not have imei.
But your phone is the refurbished one, as the hardware has been changed and modified.
Can you show a picture (hi-resolution) of the Back Sticker (under the battery) for further checking?

If you use the menu > Other Tools > S/N Decoder to decode the S/N on the back sticker, the manufacturing date is January 2014.
While the manufacturing date in the phone is 10/2013.
That means the phone's mainboard has been replaced, I think.
I thought when you boot a demo unit, it show the Note 3 words then underneath it says demo unit?

Hi
i think it usually does say demo unit but if another rom has been flashed then that must take it away
but if i call the emergency services (999 uk) then does that mean its not a demo because it must have the necessary
internal parts to connect to mobile network ?

Hello vattmann,
Do you still own the above talking device (N9005)?
If so, I would like to ask you for some more info.
Sorry for disturbing you.
