need to regiter at www.myxda.com and download the software upgrade. can someon ehelp as my device's IMEI is considered invalid for some reason
Thanks
O2 Technical Support, Asia Pacific Region have been no help
I have a O2 XDA which I am using in Melbourne, Australia but had purchased from Uk and had it unlatched before coming to Australia
I have been trying in vain to register the unit at www.myxda.com and it considers the IMEI number as invalid.
Can you please give me an IMEI number thats good for registering cause all I want is to be able to download the software upgrade
Hi,
I am suffering the same problem as you too. I just purchased my Brand-New O2 XDA2 Asia. But the IMEI printed on the back of the device (uncovered after by removing the battery pack) is NO Good for registering. By pressing "*#06#" directly on the phone dialer, the displayed IMEI is STILL NO GOOD for registering into "www.myxda.com". The displayed IMEI is 17 digits. I googled it on the web about IMEI and the results came back it as should be an Uniquely defined 15 digits. After I tried with the whole 17 digits or just the 1st 15 digits for their own web registering, ALL FAILED. Many tries from asking help from that Officially Authorized(they claimed that authorized by O2-Singapore) Retailer where I had purchased my XDA2 from. No good answer back after all. They even told me that they had never given it a try to register into "www.myxda.com" at all, because they didn't have an XDA2 device to do that. Wow, what a BIG supprised me! They sold it many but they just didn't have a device for registering test.
What a DAM* SH*T service they are!!!

Hi Guys,
This is a story we commonly hear over at the MTekk forums. It seems that the most common solution is to e-mail them with your problem, purchase details and IMEI on...
helpdesk-asia<at>O2.com or
contactusasia<at>o2.com or
myxda_asia<at>o2.com
...and they will add your IMEI to the database, which seems to be rather incomplete. Don't expect immediate turn-around on your request either, they can be a little slow.

As it's a UK XDA Can you not just use the upgrade available for the UK version at www.my-xda.com ?
Hey guys, newb here...Ive tried to register my phone bought from expansys.ca on the e-club site. it wont work though, says its not a HTC product or something along those lines.
Can anyone help?
thanks in advance,
Tom
Did you select the right product? And was your IMEI numbers correct? Sometimes it reads 17 digits when you press *#06# and the first 15digits is only your IMEI!
Still, HTC e-club has lot of bugs where it wont send activation mails to many..
I was copying the exact number beside "S/N" on the batterie.
Dial *#06# does it give the same number? STill, dont worry dude, any specific reason for HTC e-club when xda and other sites are better
No it doesnt give the same number, actually its completely different...Why would that be?

It is correct that it is a completely different number. E-club asks for your serial and the #*06* gives you the IMEI-code these are supposed to be different. S/N can only be handled by the manufactorer, IMEI is completely unique for every device.
I tried the same today, and after leaving out the character that comes after the S/N it stated that my device is branded, so not a typical HTC device. Mine is Vodafone, your's might be modified by your provider.
I have a question myself though... How can I update to WM6, since I don't have access to e-club updates, because my device is branded?

Unlock from imei unlock and flash any ROM, or you can wait until Vodafone releases an update. Btw the e-club only benefits (actually not really sure what you benefit from this site) users with P4350's branded by HTC, and regarding the posted WM6 rom on their site there are much faster mirrors posted around the web.
I guess the main question to ask is : what is your phone?
If you are trying to register a phone that isn't an actual HTC BRAND phone like a T-mobile Wing or whatever ... then it won't let you. If I try to register my TMO wing on there, it will say the same thing that it's not an HTC product.
I recently bought a Blackstone off Ebay, it arrived yesterday (Orange branded), I inserted my sim card and set everything up, i could send and receive calls and text messages and access internet etc. Then a few hours later i went out, returned to find no signal. It can find networks but will not connect to Orange.
ROM Version - 1.19.61.1 WWE
ROM Date - 11/25/08
Radio Version - 1.09.25.14
The serial number indicates it was built in 2009 week 4.
After doing a search i found a topic that suggested it had been blocked with a link to a site to do a check. I've done that and the results all came up clean.
I've tried another Orange sim card in it and its the same.
I've tried an 02 sim card in it and it works.
I've tried hard rest and soft reset.
Althought i can't access the network through orange it still lets me contact to the internet through them, sometimes!.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, I've contacted the seller (Ebay) with my problem. His feedback indicates he's sold an awful lot of these and other phones.

You posted same question in rom section. This is correct forum to post question.
I did answer your post in rom section with below:
Try 2 things:
1. Go to settings > connections > connection setup and select your country and operator, i.e. UK & Orange and let phone set this up automatically, see if this makes any difference.
2. Try a different radio. Available radio's can be found here. Obviously you will need either USPL or HSPL first to be able to flash any radio. Guide for flashing USPL & HSPL can be found here.
Also, read this thread as they are experiences similar problems
Thank you, i wasn't sure which forum to post in so thanks for your response.
I've already tried 1. I'll try 2.
Is it worth me updating my ROM too while i'm at it?

Totally up to you on whether or not you want to update your rom. If your happy with your rom, then why change........or
What I would say is that almost everyone updates their rom from stock rom to a cooked version eventually, some sooner rather than later due to better performance, more tweaks, apps installed etc
Now they can't all be wrong, can they???
Orange have confirmed the phone is blacklisted, even though the site said it wasn't.
Taking my frustrations out on the 'legitimate' Ebay seller as we speak and searching for a replacement.
Changing the ROM might solve your problem but if the blacklisting is done with IMEI numbers, then you may have a tough time.. Anyway, how much did you get the device for? I'm looking for one and don't mind taking yours if the offer is fair enough.
Regards,
Carty..
I paid £402 which included the postage, the actual phone was £395.
Orange checked by using my IMEI number, which suggests it is that.
I need to order a replacement today, but dont want to risk it being blocked again. I already have a contract with Orange and can't upgrade yet. So i need either a sim free or pay as you go one on Orange. Any one know where the cheapest/safest place to buy would be.

If its only blacklisted by orange now, it will be blacklisted by all the networks soon. They now share their blacklists.
Its being returned to the seller, where I assume he'll change the IMEI and try to resell it.

I dont think its that easy.
Sounds to me like he has brought one off someone who has then reported it nicked or similar.
In the meantime, I bought mine off ebay and it works fine on orange.
He has sold about 50 of them, plus several others. When i was manually setting up the network i had a choice of botswana or UK, not sure if thats an indication of where the phone originates from? or i'm just paranoid.
After one bad experience and desperatley needing a new phone i decided to order one off a company on the list in the Wiki. To his credit he's refunded me whilst the phone is in the post being returned.
Hi there,
I did some searching a few days ago on here, and saw some people saying they had success with HTCGate for unlocking.
So I paid my money and gave them my IMEI and waited... and waited... and ... still waiting, not a peep from them, fired off an email yesterday but no reply.
My HD2 is currently locked to O2 UK, and i'm moving my SIM over to vodafone this week so really need to find somewhere *reliable* online who can unlock it quickly?
Any recommendations from people who've actually had it done?
Many thanks
I used www.unlockitnow.com to unlock my HD2. I was on T-Mobile.
Unlocked code delivered successfully in less than 8 hours.
ccristal
Thanks Ccristal,
Have no ordered one with them, and hopefully will have more luck than the awful service at htcgate.
Where did you buy your HD2 from? If you got it from O2 directly, request an unlocking code from them. It'll take up to 28 days, but is free.
Got my code overnight from www.unlockitnow.com much better than the jokers at htcgate, thanks Ccristal

Unlocking Touch pro 2
Hello I am trying to get my sprint TP2 to work on all US GSM services such as T-Mobile and ATT can anyone help me?
Erm, see above ^^ !?
Hi, I used HTCGATE.COM last night, paid at 6pm and was unlocked by 7pm.
The e-mails from them went into my hotmail junk-mail folder - maybe you want to check there? Hope it works out for you either way.
Over the last six weeks or so I have seen a lot of posts suggesting contacting O2 to get the HD2 'SIM unlocked' for free.
I was just wondering if anyone has actually received a code back from O2?
I applied via the online form on O2's website about six weeks ago and am still waiting for a code!
About a week ago I wrote to them asking why I haven't received my code yet (inluding the reference number I received back from them originally).
After about 3 days, they wrote back asking me for additional information (which I had already provided in the online form). I gave them this information and was told that they would submit my request to their Support Team IF I sent them another email requesting them to do it. But that it could take up to 28 days (ie ANOTHER 28 days!) for me to receive my code.
It looks to me as if O2 have no real intention of providing this code are are counting on the fact that most people will give up eventually...
Of course, if other members have received unlock codes back from O2, it could just be that I have been 'unlucky'. Hence my request for others to report back their experiences...

Thanks for that, Kai.
I have had the O2 SIM in my HD2 the whole time, so that's not the problem.
However, having read some of the posts on that thread, it struck me that I was never asked to provide my IMEI number!
They don't request it on the 'unlock form' and I'm pretty sure they didn't ask for it when I spoke to the guy on the phone about it.
I'm going to phone them tomorrow to chase them. No doubt they will tell me now that is the reason they could not provide a code!
Are you sure? If I remember correctly, you cannot submit the unlock request form without providing an IMEI number? (It's because of the issue that the HD2 supplies you with a 17 digit IMEI number when you type in *#06# - but the web form will only allow you to enter 15 digitis for the IMEI).
Are you sure you went to the correct place to request your unlock code? It can be found here:

I had my iPhone unlocked by them using that unlock request form. It took about 2 weeks before I got an SMS confirming it had been unlocked. The O2 SIM was in the phone the whole time.

That's definitely the form I used, Kai.
However, I'm not completely sure that I didn't provide the IMEI number. I just don't remember being asked to provide it. It WAS 6 weeks ago after all!
As you can see, it is not requested on the first page of the form, but maybe there was a 2nd page...
Anyway, I'll give them a ring tomorrow and see what excuses they have to make.
I really just wanted to see if it was only me or whether everyone was having the same experience. So "Thank you" to everyone who has replied to say that it worked for them (Well, to you and _Belial, anyway...!)
Satayu Basu - htcgate.com Take care. I payed, I received one code but not working (Invalid unlock code). I am trying to contact them but no answer. So I've lost my 20$ and my vodafone Romania Leo is still locked
O2 dragging their feet on SIM unlock for HD2???
Update 18 Jan...
1. Phoned O2 Customer Service... waited in queue... spoke to agent - was told that system was down, please call back later!
2. Phoned O2 Customer Service... waited in queue... spoke to agent - explained situation... was asked to wait while agent checked notes - agent cut me off!
3. Phoned O2 Customer Service... waited in queue... spoke to agent - explained situation... agent cut me off as soon as I mentioned the word "unlatching" (O2's word for SIM unlocking)!
4. Phoned O2 Customer Service... waited in queue... spoke to agent - explained situation... agent had never heard of 'unlatching'!... talked agent through the whole process... the best the agent could offer was to fill out another request form and advise me that it could take 'up to 28 days' before I receive my code!
It's a good job that a) I don't desperately need my phone unlocked and b) I know that sooner or later it will be available on this forum...
be patient. i received my unlock code off o2 eventually. was more than 28 days but i now have an unlocked HD2 which didn't cost a penny to do. as is mentioned make sure you edit and get the imei right. also it is emailed rather than text to you so make sure you get that right and don't stick a fake one down.
Thanks for that, Optiknerv.
It's interesting that you say you received your code via email as elsewhere I have heard it comes via SMS.
I did fill in my genuine email address on the form and I received a confirmation email to that address afterwards. However, what is interesting is that the third agent I spoke to quoted some email address I've never heard of ([email protected]) as the email address stored on the 'system'. This appears to be some internally generated address from O2 as the xxxxxxxxx is my name followed by about 6 digits! I haven'y got a clue as to how to access this account as it has nothing to do with my 'My O2' account!
I asked him to update my account with my correct address, just in case...
s4 9505 product code : not active - what does it mean ?
It it related with device problems (forgets wifi passwords, 4g connects but not working, etc)it tell mi that in Phone INFO ★Samsung★ APK.
link google play:

please help!!!!
Sorry for my English.
Post the output from Phone Info. However, a product code of "not active" is a bad sign. Because when you see that, more than likely the IMEI is also gone. Phones like this usually require servicing, though the more experienced members of the forum will correct me if I'm wrong.
Thank's for answering!
This wat i see on the apk!
The imei its there!!
Great, now remove the pic so your IMEI doesn't get cloned. However, that's not all the information Phone Info provides. PDA and CSC information is useful, along with the model number Phone Info reports, compared to what the label beneath the battery says.
I was unlucky wen I bought this phone the first min board was dead won't turn on.
This screen shot it's from the second one bought online on the famous international site and i receive it within label!!!
Can i fix it or not? ??
Thanks

Based upon what you've provided, the firmware you should be using is here. The firmware you have on there is the German DBT firmware, based upon the CSC code in the screenshot.
