thanks for reply bro.
I'm kind of new in android.
So what actually it was? And when do you call it 'brick'?
I was a bit tensed. As I couldn't even go to recovery mode! Although odin did solve the problem for me.
I was able to flash that ROM later. But didn't really like it. So have gone back to compact kernel and stock rom.
Is there any better kernel?
Oh I've got another problem.
I've android assistant installed. Whenever I install a game or an app it shows in android assistant installed in memory card.
But it actually taking space from system memory! Now it has only 14mb left. If I remove an app (which it thinks as installed in memory card) free space increases from 14mb.
Fyi, there is no "move to sd" option. It shows "move to phone"

I have GT-S6102B and that thread says GT-S5360 in the forum section. Are ROMs and Odin images from the two interchangeable?
I read in that thread to try and install a ROM using CWM, tried that already. So ODIN would be by next step? If CWM didn't work, my hopes of Odin working are low too, but I can still get to recovery so I don't think all hope is lost???
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1465800
How do I know which one there to use since my phone is GT-S6102B UD not S5360_blahblahvlah
What country is UD?

no you cannot use 5360 firmware on 6102
goto sammobile.com and download the firmware for your phone or goto
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1656825
if you can stil get in recovery you can download any custom rom for duos (search the duos dev section)
goto cwm
wipe system data cache
mount system data cache
flash rom zip
restart
you may also need to flash the correct kernel for the custom rom you are using

I installed a ROM and the phone just keeps rebooting and I can get the phone into ODIN mode but my PC refuses to recognize the device, even after installing a driver.

for odin
instal samsung usb drivers
put phone into downlod mode (vol down home button power button)
connect usb to pc
push vol up to start connection
wait for drivers to install
open odin 3.07 (other versions may also work)
if it is connected it will say com then a number in a coloured box under com:id on the left hand side

Installing that ROM had no effect, still a boot-loop.
I was able to get the phone to show up in Odin just for it to do this ****e:

I probably should just return it at this point, I hope I can get it replaced, but even then I need to put Android 4 on it. Cannot use this as my main until I have SD Card Encryption and move apps to SD since it has mediocre internal storage.

Hi there,
Are you flashing the latest 4.3 firmware for your region? If you are not aware you cannot downgrade firmware due to the new knox enabled bootloaders.
Factory reset the device before and after flashing firmware also!
Hello, I am new here, but problem is huge! I switched off OEM Unlock and forgot to switchit on again, when I switched my phone off again. I have huge problem, because I can't get new ROM. I can only enter DL mode and Odin can't read a file! I clicked "Start" few times, but:

I may have USB Debugging disabled too. Is there any hope to resurrect my phone?

Edit1: I did it, it works again, but I got bootloop :/
