What do I do now?
Please help.
Thank you..
Edit: ok I've just uninstalled, cleanned with ccleaner, reinstslled, rebooted and it's now working. I did this like several times but it didn't work before.

thanks for reply bro.
I'm kind of new in android.
So what actually it was? And when do you call it 'brick'?
I was a bit tensed. As I couldn't even go to recovery mode! Although odin did solve the problem for me.
I was able to flash that ROM later. But didn't really like it. So have gone back to compact kernel and stock rom.
Is there any better kernel?
Oh I've got another problem.
I've android assistant installed. Whenever I install a game or an app it shows in android assistant installed in memory card.
But it actually taking space from system memory! Now it has only 14mb left. If I remove an app (which it thinks as installed in memory card) free space increases from 14mb.
Fyi, there is no "move to sd" option. It shows "move to phone"

I have GT-S6102B and that thread says GT-S5360 in the forum section. Are ROMs and Odin images from the two interchangeable?
I read in that thread to try and install a ROM using CWM, tried that already. So ODIN would be by next step? If CWM didn't work, my hopes of Odin working are low too, but I can still get to recovery so I don't think all hope is lost???
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1465800
How do I know which one there to use since my phone is GT-S6102B UD not S5360_blahblahvlah
What country is UD?

no you cannot use 5360 firmware on 6102
goto sammobile.com and download the firmware for your phone or goto
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1656825
if you can stil get in recovery you can download any custom rom for duos (search the duos dev section)
goto cwm
wipe system data cache
mount system data cache
flash rom zip
restart
you may also need to flash the correct kernel for the custom rom you are using

Hi guys,
My SGS4 won't boot anymore. At all.
I can (with difficulty) access my custom recovery menu (TWRP 2.5.1) and the download menu.
But whatever I'm trying to flash using ODIN from download menu, it fails! Whether it's the current ROM, official UK BTU ROM, stock recovery etc... So can't use Odin.
Can't put anything on the device either as I can't boot. When I use the "mount USB" from the TWRP menu, my PC doesn't recognize the phone so I can't put any ZIP on the phone that I could install from TWRP.
This happened when I used Triangle Away to reset the counter from 1 to 0....
I'm afraid my phone is bricked (although it's a temp phone and will be getting mine in 2 days), but I wanted to be sure that I didn't forget to do anything....
ANy ideas how to make this work pls?
thnx

did you try changing usb port? kies totally disabled? original usb cable?

All of these were really good ideas, but I'm afraid none of them work!
Same error message, it seems it can't write on the damn phone. I tried to reflash TWRP, the green bar went further but at the end, same thing, fails.

i dont know if flashing pit file along with the firmware will work
yeah that's exactly what I was thinking, after clickingon your "unroot, back to stock" link in your signature...
So can I flash the firmware + Pit at the same time or should I flash pit first and then the ROM?

pit file is flashed with the firmware. choose the right pit for your device! re-partition will be checked automatically when you select the pit file.
still doesn't work unfortunately, don't know what 's happening....
I flashed PIT file alone, it worked fine.
Tried to install anything else, it fails again, all the time...

If you haw acess t dawnload mod you are nhot bricked pleas go and try other pc
Sent from my GT-I9505 using xda premium
First, thanks for the info that if I can access the download mode, then the phone is not bricked, I didn't know that, so thanks.
And yes, you were both right, I plugged my phone into my laptop and it worked! THANK YOU.
So the next question is: What could be the issue on my PC? It's not Kies cause it's not installed, and I already uninstalled and reinstalled the Samsung Drivers....
thnx
this is surely NOT a mobile issue if you can enter into download mode.
i had the exact issue a month ago when i had note2.
if you can't try it on another pc, try :
1) uninstall skies completely
2) unisnstall usb drivers
3) reboot the pc
4) connect your s4 in download mode to your pc.
5) let your pc install freah usb drivers
6) start odin and flash
7) if still you get the same error download a different verison of the official rom and try flashing.
i followed the above procedure couple of times and was finally able to install the rom. the issue is either with the drivers or the rom.
Sent from my GT-I9500 using xda app-developers app
bricked for sure

expirienced exactly same situation with i9300. Able to get to recovery but failed to flash. Tryed everything on PC and on the phone itself. You have to try different odin versions, but in my case it was NAND failure. If you failed to flash PIT your phone is for sure bricked. Sorry.
Got mainboard replacement in my case.
Have you tried putting a rom on the sdcard with an adapter.. And then put it in the phone and flash the zip from recovery?

no but good idea. Actually all the flashing work now, but I still can't boot into the phone! This is madness...
before I couldn't flash anything. Now, I flashed the original BTU ROM, Stock recovery but can't boot into recovery anymore, can't boot into the OS, the only thing that works is the download mode.
Will try to get the phone to a repair thing. I'm gonna try with samsung repair centre first cause the right ROM is installed (original) and the counter is at zero so should be fine with warranty.

Will try to get the phone to a repair thing. I'm gonna try with samsung repair centre first cause the right ROM is installed (original) and the counter is at zero so should be fine with warranty.

good luck at least i just thought it would work by doing it in recovery but yeah... warranty is better.. if not.. then keep trying if they wont replace it
ok I FINALLY could access the stock recovery, did a full wipe and everything is back in order now, works perfectly.
THANKS to all!
Apologies if this has been asked before, but I tried checking everywhere for a solution and couldn't come up with anything.
I have an AT&T Galaxy S4 I337. I rooted it, but now I want to unroot it. I used Odin 3v185 and this is what I get:

Your on the mf3 firmware. Odin won't work. I can tell because of the "fused 2" in the Odin printout
Thanks. Is there a way to unroot it?

Yes there is, I'm guessing you are able to boot to your phone?
Here's a link and instructions you can follow. Good luck and report to us how it goes

pull battery,
put battery back in,
boot into odin using the physical keys (home+volume down+power),
then when it says press volume up to boot into odin, or volume down for cancel choose volume down.
Might boot up normally, i have the issue to where to recovery is messed up, all i need is the 'install-recovery.sh' but no one who has a rooted S4 running MF3 has responded to me yet..ill let you know if i fix the recovery that way.

At this point, I don't know if you'd be able to fix it that way. The only option that many users have been doing is going to best buy with a Samsung experience area and having them reflash the MF3 firmware.

Here is the guide-line before flashing:
1. Was USB Debugging enabled on your device?
2. You got the latest Samsung drivers installed on your pc?
3. Did you make sure Samsung kies is not running in the system tray?
4. Make sure any antivirus or firewalls are switched off.
If you still cannot flash, this normally happens when the partitions on the embedded multi media card gets corrupted for whatever reason, also known as the emmc
The phone can be restored by flashing a pit file to repartition the emmc in order so it can be written to.
Download and unzip this file and you will have a .pit file which you put in the tab marked PIT in Odin
Next make sure: re partition, f /reset, and auto reboot are ticked in options in Odin.
Reflash your stockfirmware
Let me know if it's fixed

You should use Kies then, bcoz I have no idea what you did
Open Kies, choose Firmware Upgrade and Initialization and follow its step by step instruction.

Any idea why the f*ck does ODIN 3.09 show this when trying to flash official 5.0 firmware? Just bricked my phone because of this. Everything goes ok until hidden.img.ext4. After that, FAIL.
Ok, so I rooted my phone using a method where i flashed an older kernel then used towelroot to root, and then flashed back to NJ4. All was going well, and i installed the safestrap recovery. Then, today i was tryin to install the CM12 for the S4, and i messed up where i put the files for this, so when i was in safestrap, it told me it failed. I hit reboot, and that is when my phone essentially 'soft bricked'. I tries to boot up, fails and goes into download mode. I tried pulling out the battery, tried to go into recovery, but i cant do it. I tried to flash 4.2.2. stock s4 firmware thru odin, but it kept saying "Can't open the serial(COM) port." and fails. I can't do anything right now, please help im panicking Dx
UPDATE: I tried again to flash stock and now when i try to boot it tells me "firmware upgrade encountered an issue.." now when i try to flash something it won't let me because odin fails and says

HELP
Someone wiser then me will probably come in but if you can get to download mode no big worries. The com port issue makes me think drivers or the USB port. I would try different USB port and potentially uninstall drivers and reinstall. I believe skip makes a tool kit for s4 today may help. Can you see the device in adb?

I updated my last post btw. Dumb question but...what is adb?
EDIT:
Got it. I found a link to a rootable 4.4.2 md5 file and flashed it and it worked!
Not compatible
Well CM12 CM11 no CM period is compatible with out S4 because of the locked bootloader and youre trying to use the wrong firmware in odin once you upgrade to 4.4.4 or 4.4.2 you can no longer downgrade and go down to 4.2.2 so stop trying that you need to either download NB1 or NI1 odin files and restore it that way thats if you havent completely messed up youre phone Good Luck!
I was trying out this rom(my first)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=60178468&postcount=9684
and now it won't reboot.
BACKUP your data to external storage
REMOVE external SD card
DOWNLOAD N900V_JasmineROM_v5.0.zip to internal storage & CHECK MD5
REBOOT to Safestrap recovery
DELETE all ROM slots & make Stock Slot active
WIPE everything (system/data/cache/dalvic)
FLASH N900V_JasmineROM_v5.0.zip - BE PATIENT !
MAKE SURE THE ABOVE STEP HAS BEEN SUCCESSFULY COMPLETED !
REBOOT to Download mode
DOWNLOAD N900VVRUEOB6_PartialFirmware.tar.md5.7z to your PC & CHECK MD5
EXTRACT N900VVRUEOB6_PartialFirmware.tar.md5 using 7-Zip
FLASH N900VVRUEOB6_PartialFirmware.tar.md5 via Odin in AP slot
REBOOT to Stock recovery (press and hold Home + Power + Volume Up)
RESET factory by selecting "wipe data/factory reset"
REBOOT to System & Enjoy!
I followed these directions except for when I got to "DELETE all ROM slots & make Stock Slot active" it wouldn't work so I googled how to use safestrap and I found I had to make a rom and make that active. So maybe that's where it went wrong. I don't know. Please help!
I can still get into system recovery but I'm not sure what to do.

you cannot go back to 4.4.2 if you went with jasmine 5.0 you can not go back. either you find a work around trying to boot jasmine 5.0 or you go back to 4.4.4 and you will not have root cause there is no root method
did you install on stock rom slot when install jasmine?
Did you factory reset after flashing ?
need fix
Did you ever find a fix for this? I also had jasminerom installed on my Verizon note 3 and tried installing a KK rom and can't escape from a soft-brick. I am completely lost and can't find anything with a search.
