Sorry I'm not sure what you mean.
Do you mean can you edit the home screen? Change the launcher?
Then yes on any firmware.
Not sure if that's what you meant but there you go
9/10 if you're looking to mod your 1+ in some way, then the answer is usually yes..
Hope this helps

I've heard praise for this system, but it's missing a lot of basic features.
By changing the home screen, I mean this (example on Honor View 20)
home screen
One-hand mode I mean this (example on Honor View 20)
one hand mode
I didn't even find this feature

How to Change Home Screen?

I know how to edit the # and location of screens. I was curious though.. I now have 4 screens and by default when I press home, it takes me to the 4th screen (the middle when there were 7).
Am I missing something simple? How can I made say screen 2 or 3 be the default screen?
Honestly, I'd assume it's not changeable due to the main screen logically being the center one. I barely even used TouchWiz though. First thing after signing in I downloaded ADW.Launcher. Had it since his very first (flashable only) version (I was the very first tester).
Plus, I definitely don't care for the 'iphone-look' app drawer.
Ok, so I just went back to TouchWiz to try it out. After dragging screen 4 (home screen) to position 7, went into an app and then hit home. Returned to position 7. Hitting home again took me to position 4. So it looks like that 4th screen is always your home screen (unless you root and change code). At least that's my assumption as of now.
^ awesome... thanks. Really should be able to change the default screen though (LIKE ADW).
I will probably follow suit and get ADW or LP, but I wanted to try something new out. I was REALLY opposed to the TW looking like apple, but honestly it's not nearly as annoying as I thought it would be.

From what I've seen you open the app draw then press menu and then edit from there u can remove the number of screens and move them around I believe.

[INFO] Tips and Tricks - Eee Pad

Loving your new tablet but want more? Try some of these tips to add new experiences:
-Official Asus mini FAQ pdf HERE.
-Official English language manual HERE.
-----------
-If you have rooted your device, then applying the FOTA update (firmware over the air) from Asus will re-lock your device, as it enables signature checking. If you wish to keep root, either wait for a safe update to be released by a member of the forums, or don't update at all. If you have already updated from the original stock firmware you will have to wait for an updated root method.
*Root allows low level system access to all features of a device. Benefits include, but aren't restricted to, allowing everything to be backed up, blocking adverts, greater customisation, etc.*
-----------
-What apps are compatible?
Try HERE for a list.
-Getting lag from google search?
Set your home page instead of 'www.google.com' to 'www.google.com/webhp?complete=0'. This will remove the instant feature and give you lag free search results.
-Enable Quick Controls in web browser.
Open Browser>Settings>Labs>Quick Controls. Now go back to the browser window and swipe your fingers in from the side of the screen, for a cool options menu.
-Want a longer charging cable?
Certain USB 3.0 male to female extension cables may have the extra pins required to allow you to lengthen your cable. Failing this you could always use a mains lead to extend the electrical lead. Links HERE and HERE for more info. Full thread on cables working and not working HERE.
-Got a problem you can't seem to fix? Tablet locked up or become unresponsive? Speakers not working?
Try holding the power button down for 10-12 seconds, which will totally power off the device. This is different from other power down methods. It's fixed many people's various problems so it's worth a try if you are stuck.
-Install a different keyboard.
There are many keyboards available for tablet devices on the market. Settings>Language & Input>Keyboard Settings>Current Input Method. And if you hadnt noticed, the default Asus keyboard lets you swipe your finger to spell out words, just like Swype.
-Improve your wifi connection speed to the tablet.
Hold your pad vertically while facing the direction of your router or access point. You can get up to a 50% stronger signal just by doing this, as the aeriel is in the top of the device behind the screen. Also make sure your router is on a specific channel and not set to 'auto'. Use a free app such as 'Wifi Analyzer' to help you find the best channel.
-To store more files, expand your memory.
SDXC cards can be read by the keyboard dock. Format your new card to NTFS if you are planning on using files over 4gb. There is no need for partitions. If you are not planning on putting any files over 4gb on it, Fat32 filesystem is also an option.
-How can I get the best quality wallpaper as my background, and still have the scrolling effect?
For non rooted and rooted devices. Check THIS thread for an updated view of the wallpaper situation. Also a good app to help you create a wallpaper with the scrollable effect and still keep the quality is called 'Wallpaper Wizardrii' which is free from the market.
-What is the best resolution to make the wallpaper so I get that cool scrolling effect with the best quality onscreen when changing home screens?
For rooted devices. 2135 x 1408 pixels. The picture posted at the bottom of this post shows you the layout (credits to the Xoom forum people for this image). This is for adding wallpapers to the original directory once you are rooted. This way they are exactly the same resolution as the original 'asus tree' wallpaper. For reference, the middle area of the home screen is 1280x720 in size.
-Can I stop programs running when I start my device up?
You need to root your device and then you can install an app called Autostarts or Startup Manager which will allow you to disable apps that start up automatically.
-Change to an animated wallpaper.
Press and hold your finger on the home screen. Select Wallpaper>Live Wallpaper.
-How do I capture screenshots?
Settings>Screen>Screenshot Now go to the screen you want to take a picture of and hold down the task switching button for 1 second. Release and 1 second later it will take a screenshot. These are saved to sdcard/Screenshots/ in the file manager.
-How do I get into the bootloader?
Hold the volume down button and press the power button. Keep holding volume down until the screen lights up.
-Can I change the boot animation? (the animated 'Asus' logo at startup)
Details HERE.
-Add an internet bookmark list to your home page.
Press and hold finger on home screen. Widgets>Bookmarks
-Show the web browsing history.
Long press the back key in the default browser to show the last few websites you visited.
-Can I change the way web pages display in the default browser?
You can set the browser to tablet, desktop or mobile mode. This will tell the web server you are accessing, how your device should process a page and display it accordingly. It's recommended to set the option to desktop or tablet to make the most of the transformers large screen. To save on data costs when tethered, set it to mobile mode. Open the default browser. Open the browser settings>advanced>user agent string. Change it to whichever option you want. Close browser. Re-open. Should display the pages based on the option you chose.
-Add a finger pattern unlock screen.
Go to Settings>Location and Security>Configure Lock Screen>Pattern>Draw a pattern (and remember it)
-Use Battery Monitor Widget?
Set the battery to 6600mA instead of the default 1200mA. In battery monitor widget>settings>monitoring preferences>battery capacity (Check the underside of your box for the phrase '2CELL3300' to confirm, as there may be different versions for different countries). Setting it to this rating should give a more accurate reading for your battery stat tracking. (Thx to Edge929)
-You can plug other devices into the cable using a female usb to female usb connector.
Certain devices (such as usb memory sticks, keyboards, etc.) can be used via this method. Thread HERE with more info.
-How do I check battery usage?
Settings>About Tablet>Battery use>Click the graph OR Settings>Applications>Battery Use>Click the graph. Shows the system devices that have been using the battery.
-Email someone a lot? Add them to your home screen.
Press and hold home screen>Contact>Their Name. Adds a widget to the screen of your choice that lets you select a method of contacting them.
-What do the colours on the dock indicate?
Solid Green light = Battery above 95% charge.
Solid Orange (they call it orange, it's red on mine) = 10-95% charge.
Orange blinking = Battery less than 3-10% charge.
Orange fast blinking = Battery less than 3% charge.
-Hidden debug settings option in the default browser:
For advanced users. Changing these settings may dramatically affect performance. Type in about:debug into the default browser bar, then hit the options>settings>debug tab.
-Hidden easter egg in 3.1:
There's a honeycomb easter egg in 3.1. Tap the version number "3.1" in the settings>about tablet a few times.

No problem. If anyone has any more, please let me know and i'll add to the list.
I was gonna open a thread on it but saw this one.
Another tips is that since we are going to see updates more often, please don't update it as soon as you see "new update" available. Wait for it, give it sometime. As we've already seen a thread where user bricked their transformer because of an update...
If its working, don't fix it.
Someone has to risk it. If no one will update we'll never know if it's safe to do.

New tips added...
Right... as of 28th April the first post is updated with as much stuff as I could find from the entire Transformer section of the forums. I'm sure I've missed a fair few things that could be added, so please send me any useful tips that you think others might like to use, or that may help improve their devices. Thanks.

oh you mean that, that isn't actually open apps, those are just most recently used apps. Doesn't mean they're still running. To make the 5 windows go away just press anywhere besides the 5 windows.

Things you don't know about your HTC one

Just thought I would start a thread that could be useful about things you didn't know about your HTC one
I only found out tonight that if you swipe down your notification bar with 2 fingers it takes you straight to the shortcut tabs
That made me realise there are probably loads of features and gestures I don't know about?
Here is a list compiled from the thread...
1 : Swipe down with 2 fingers on notification bar takes you straight to shortcuts (Android 4.2 version only)
2 : If you scroll with 2 fingers in contacts, gallery, music, and many other apps, it scrolls much faster (using it in the contacts list goes through the alphabet, using it in the text converstaion list goes through dates of conversations)
3 : You can pinch zoom text-messages
4 : Double tap your Bluetooth button with camera active to remotely take a snap
5 : In camera, from the top swipe down and it'll switch from back to front camera and viceversa
6 : Tapping on the statusbar while in the app drawer or blinkfeed, music, people, and message app brings you straight up
7 : You don't have to pull up the lock or the time on the lock screen - swipe up anywhere to unlock your phone. Same goes for answering a call
8 : You can increase the volume on your tv via the volume rocker on your phone instead of the on screen buttons
9 : Quickly double tapping the home button brings up the recent apps list
10 : Three finger swipe from left to right on the homescreen brings you to share files menu
11 : You can adjust the brightness of the torch/flashlight with the volume rocker
12 : Hold down the power button and tap the home key to take a screenshot
13 : Holding the back button in the browser brings you to history
14 : In the photo gallery's edit>effects screen (under the magic wand icon), you can customise every preset by tapping and holding its thumbnail and dragging it to the "customise" bar that appears on the right. You can even start applying custom effects from scratch by doing this with the "no effects" thumbnail. You can then save the created preset
Also on that screen, pressing the 'A' button provides options go change the white balance of the picture (as you would normally pre-select in the camera app). A = 'as shot' but you can change it to cloudy, fluorescent, etc and also a couple of options the camera app doesn't have - shady and tungsten.
15 : If you have the camera app open and turn off the phone, the lockscreen will be inactive, meaning when you press the power button again you go straight back to the camera app, no need to unlock
16 : Select "Show Magnifier" in the Accessibility menu and you get a magnifying lens that pops up when you are editing text
17 : Long press home for google now (depending on setup sometimes home and up also takes you to google now)
18 : In Google play if you are listening to a song and have the album artwork up (the screen where you have your pause/play, next/previous track)
You can swipe right to left to skip the track it left to right to go to the previous track. There's a cool sliding in/out animation too.
The coolest feature though, is that you don't have to press back to get back to your library or playlist. You can swipe down from the songbtitle and your library of songs is waiting behind it.
19 : In the Stock Browser go to Menu>Settings>Labs to switch on "Quick Controls". Slide thumb from left or right edge to open quick controls and hide app and URL bars.
Also swipe across the keyboard to easily switch to the numbers and symbols pages!
20 : You can access HTC's hidden Self diagnostic tool by following steps:
Go to dialer,
Dial *#*#3424#*#*
You will enter HTC's self diagnostic tool
You can check if all the parts and sensors on your device is working.
21 : If you're watching tv and have the tv remote enabled and you're getting a call it automatically mutes the tv.
22 : There's a visualizer and karaoke player embedded in the HTC music app. Just click the musical note icon when playing a popular song that's on Gracenote. The app will automatically download lyrics and sync them to the song.
By default, this only works on Wi-Fi. This can be changed in Music settings.
23 : You can also set a different wallpaper for the lockscreen than for the homescreen by going to settings -> personalize -> lockscreen and then settings for the wallpaper lockscreen.
24 : Rotating your calculator to landscape provides scientific functions like sin cos and tan.
25 : if you leave the TV app open to your remote and you lock your phone...it unlocks right back Into the TV remote. I've also noticed it just turning itself on when I pick it up!
26 : There's a cool trick in the camera app.
If you touch to focus, and hold your finger there for about a second, it will activate Focus and Exposure lock, until you tap on another spot, which will turn it off again. It's a handy feature, especially when you want to recompose. (android 4.2 version only)

Not trying to rain on your parade but that is a Android feature introduced in 4.2.
You should go to settings and then display and you can now set the home key as the menu button when long pressing.
In the HTC keyboard settings, you can enable Swype and in advanced you can even set the swype colour.
Another one, if you scroll with 2 fingers in gallery, music, and many other apps, it scrolls much faster
Pretty known one.. In the browser menu, you can enable flash player
There are lots of fun features with zoe's after you've made them (comparable to GS4) like sequence shot, removing objects, and waaay more

Also one more thing many have not realized yet. There is no file limit size when transferring files to the phone. No more FAT32 4GB file restrictions. That's the benefit of having ONLY MTP, but you lose out on faster transfers and universal USB Mass Storage support. You can fit a 20GB movie in if you want and if you have the space.

Didn't know that two finger pulldown.
On CM it's pulldown from the clock, I couldn't figure out how to do it with Sense.

the two finger pulldown is an AOSP 4.2 built in feature, the CM implementation is an option to swipe from left or right edge, AOKP has it as well, this can be disabled and the 2 swipe feature functions as normal.

Now I know. Having used CM10.1 almost exclusively for the last year and change, I sort of forgot that it wasn't exactly the same as AOSP.

Maybe it should be posted here the aroma freeze fix:
I know some people have problems shutting down their phone when this happens
If aroma installer freezes on you do the following:
1. Hold device's light sensor up to a bright light source (any lamp will do)
2. Hold power button down until buttons on bottom begin to blink, keep holding and phone will turn off!

Question before buying ZUK Z1

I was so close buying the ZUK Z1 until I noticed some user review saying there's Cyanogenmod and CyanogenOS, I didn't know there's difference
The item I was going to buy is from eBay- http://tinyurl.com/jg8swsz
Down the page there are photos of the phone and one of them saying "Cyanogen OS 12.1"
What's the difference between the two? Should I buy this item?
Seller saying this is Cyanogen 12.1 , he doesn't know if it's OS/MOD as it something new to me as well .....
Please help me understand what does that mean
CyanogenOS is the software (rom) and it was made by Cyanogenmod.

I heard that there's difference between the ZUI & Cyanogen with the home button and the capacitive keys. The capacitive keys function as back & settings? is the finger id works good with the cyanogenos?
CyanogenOS model has the capacitive keys?
My friend has this phone for over a month (with cyanogen) , suddenly the phone turned off and doesn't turn on anymore, any fix for this?

My preference is version with cyanogenos, if you are interested in some modifications you can always change it to whatever you want. Check the forum. On zui capacitive home button works from start. On cyanogenos you need to install small modification, but cyanogenos is much more optimized. Whatever you buy you will get help with modifications on this forum

Cool mate, I am really looking buying this phone, great quality for low price.
As for the capacitive keys, if I buy the above item with the cyanogenOS - what do you mean I;ll have to do some modification and installation? is it something I do from the phone settings to make the keys work? I hope you don't mean rooting/flashing things :3
I mean flashing but trust me if u don't want to flash anything cyanogenos version is much better than zui and u can live without capacitive home button, maybe in March they will add it to the update.

I still think I misunderstood you
There are 2 capactive keys that function as "back" and "Settings", the home button function as fingerprint ID and pressing it goes to home and long press is the tasks screen, am I correct?
To which one of the OS I need to flash things, the CyanogenOS or the ZUI? because I heard the Cyanogen comes already with the capative keys.. please explain to me

In cyanogenos and cyanogenmod they have disabled the capacitive home button. It's only a home button now and it does read fingerprints.
They did that to conserve power because if the button is always on it creates wake locks. Only the Zui version has the capacitive button now.
B.t.w. the phone is really great for the money you pay for. It's fast, the battery life is good and Cyanogen out of the box. And it has a very fast working fingerprint reader. When you like nightly builds you will have updates available almost every day. And you have 64GB fast storage without the need for slow sd cards.

The capacitive buttons on the left and right are usually setup to Back and Multitasking. But you can change them to anything you want to in cyanogen os and mod. Sorry that I misunderstood you. In the first versions of cyanogenos you had also swipe actions on the home button. I have these buttons always disabled as I do like the onscreen buttons more. The screen is big enough to use them.
Are you sure you can set them to anything?! If you have a Oneplus you can do it, but I tried on ZUK and there is no such option. The right key is back (which sucks)
Hmm, I think I made a mistake :/
I asked the seller multiple times if that's CyanogenOS 12.1 and he confirmed, So I made a payment through PayPal and I sent a a message with the following pictures, asked him how the phone home page looks.
He said it looks like picture number " 1 ", isn't that the ZUI OS? I'll try to cancel the order before he ships the item, but in case it's too late, is it possible to flash COS/CM? Do I need to flash custom recovery or I can flash COS/CM right away?

Hmm, I think I made a mistake :/
I asked the seller multiple times if that's CyanogenOS 12.1 and he confirmed, So I made a payment through PayPal and I sent a a message with the following pictures, asked him how the phone home page looks.

You're right. Picture 2 is Cyanogen OS. Why don't you order via zuk-shop.com?

Some hided shortcuts & gestures in EMUI maybe you don't know

I used Honor 6 with EMUI 4.01 version, and found some useful shortcuts on my phones. I guess the EMUI has much in common, so maybe your Honor 8 has the shortcuts.
1) You don't need to press the power button every time you lock off your screen. You can quickly double touch lock
screen to turn it on. You need to activate "double touch" option in settings>smart assistance>motion control>double touch.
2) Draw a letter to open apps in lock screen. Such as you can draw "M" to activate music app, "C" to camera. Really useful and fast, also set in settings>smart assistance>motion control>draw letters
3) Cast your phone screen to big screen like your TV/monitor. Find multi-screen option in settings, turn the function on. If you TV/monitor has mirror cast function, turn it on, then connect your Honor with your TV/screen via wifi connection. If you TV/monitor doesn't have mirror cast function, get a mirror cast adapter to get the function.
Maybe your guys Honor 8 has the three shortcuts. I am a newbie on XDA, this is my first thread post, if you find the post helpful, give me a thumb up.

It should remain this function on Honor 8.

Maybe it's a cheaper touch screen to reduce the cost.

Not necessarily. The Honor 8 can be unlocked using the fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone without hitting the power button first. Since the Honor 6 lacks said sensor, it makes sense for that device to have another method of unlocking the phone other than the power button. Also, there is no "double touch" option in Settings - Smart Assistance - Motion Control, so that's another reason why the function is not present on the Honor 8.
