Just picked up my TF300 yesterday. So far I'm loving it!
Spent the evening configuring the device, installing software and apllying firware updates, etc.
You really need to let this thing sit overnight to properly "settle down" as the thing is quite finnicky out of the box. I made the mistake of clicking the "sync with google" account button on setup and it began downloading all 60 or so apps I've purchased from the Market (comw of which are specific to my rooted HTC evo or my HTC Flyer). Once that was done I spent some time uninstalling the ones I didn't want/need.
I bought the Best Buy 16Gb version. I'd have bought the 32Gb version if Best Buy carried it, but they don't alas, and I had some soon to expire rewards $$ that I wanted to apply to this. Also I'm a fan of their 18 month no interest financing (it's how I paid for the Flyer) and the fact that I can just hop on over to the strore if this tablet turns out to be a turkey and just exchange or return it.
But so far so good. After all my apps downlodaded I've still got some 12 Gb free storage, and with the micro SDCard slot I can add an additional 32Gb for movies and such if I want.
The only real bummers I've noted so far is that the Chrome Beta seems to get in a wierd state sometimes where it won't follow links, but instead asks if I want to open a new tab. Unfortunately, force closing Chrome doesn't seem to fix the issue. I've had to restart the tablet. Hopefully that was just a fluke, even though it's happened to me twice. Becaus honestly, I love having Chrome on this thing. Chrome is really Android's "killer app" for me. Having a desktop browser with full functionality (albeit lacking Flash) really turns this thing up to "11" if you know what I mean.
At any rate, that's my overly long story. You can color me happy, thus far.
lots of had issues whither chrome browser. Asus has been finding it to cause issues also. alot report strange things occurring after installing That app. I've been uninstalled it. ill wait till it updates to an official version out of beta before trying again. there are threads on it in prime section.
just giving you a heads up. I find opera mobile to be the best by far. its the only one to give close to true desktop browsing experience. plus its the only browser That lets you upload files like on a regular PC browser, from your prime. its the fastest browser around, IMO. chrome is good but still needs alot of work. between everyone having issues, chrome browser was the thing THST connected everyone. even Asus has noticed this.
have fun with your new 300
Congrats!
I too just picked up the 16GB at BB yesterday.
I agree with OP...let it sit overnight.
So far I love it...and already rooted & de-bloated.

Opera Mobile is my browser of choice on the HTC Flyer and my HTC Evo, so I do like it. Unfortunately it has issues displaying certain websites, so I'm really looking forward to a final, stable Chrome build. I'll continue to use Chrome unless I find it causes too many stability issues on the Transformer.
Holy Cow!
So I decidedI'd try tethering my TF300 to my cellphone, and when I started the tethering app and opeed up the TF300 I found that it was already connected. I though it odd, given that I've got a WPA2 security on the phone. So when I checked the WiFi settings I discovered "memory" of all the WiFi hotspots I'd connected to previously with my Flyer.
That's pretty amazing (and a tad unsettling, to be honest) that Google had sync'd all that information and applied it to my TF300 when I updated.
I was also amazed at how quickly the TF300 recognized my wireless mouse. Plugged thedongle into the USB port, was expecting a chime or some "installing driver" message but saw nothing. The I bumped the mouse ad the cursor moved! Wow! (Also, the scroll wheel works just fine, though the right-mouse button seems to act as a "history back" button rather than a contextual menu, as in Windows.
All in all, I'm really digging this.

Hey guys best buy is selling the 32GB model as of yesterday. I bought mine yesterday for 399.99, so if you want more memory for 20 more dollars I would highly suggest. Loving this tablet by the way

Posting this in the forums I haunt. I discovered this threw another issue im dealing with. Really this effects multiple industries as I found out.
This is more for any developer but trying to get the message out.
Google is killing several API services. First one was the Weather API. That one killed any app or query built in a rom sniffing google for weather updates. Anyone that has noticed there weather app suddelny stop working is suffering from this issue. Most Devs have allready updated there API address but if you havent please edit in your next revision. Keep in mind this is only one of many APIs that will be cut off soon. So pull your resorces elsewhere if you can. Sadly that stuff is privately owned and not public so its there right to do so. For whatever reason they are doing this very quietly and without warning. Not sure why but its a problem that will get out of hand quickly if noone knows about it.
Thanks.

The reason they killed the weather API was because it was never intended to be used by the public. It was only supposed to be used on iGoogle, which has been gone for a while now.
Makes sence. Still not good for the multitude of products that use google APIs. Btw that one was cut off recently. igoogle is very much alive. Not very usefull though lol.

Anyone still owns/use one? such a great device but pity they killed it for the sake of their own pockets.
it would be nice if someone still develops for this device as its still lacking in comparison to other more mature products
afaik it is still an android based device like the motoactv so it would be great to have similar development on it

Still have mine, and have purchased several smart watches during that time -have to say the WIMM is my favorite ... waiting for my Kickstarter Pebble shortly and I don't know if I am going to give up the WIMM even then. There is a developer forum out there that carries on with alpha and beta apps for the WIMM, although I do not know how often people submit.

Do you happen to know the name of this developer forum? Or are you referring to WIMM's official developer forum?
Still have mine, have been wearing it and using it daily for over a year and love it. However, I am considering selling it as I have started training as a private pilot and could do with a no-nonsense analogue chronometer. Certain key features in particular I will really, really miss - the ability to sync with both my personal Google calendar and my work Exchange calendar are truly priceless. Open to offers if anyone wants to buy my Wimm - one of the very few in the UK (I DHL'd it from the US and like a good boy paid all import taxes and duties - I really don't want to think about how much it set me back...) but will consider posting abroad.
Cheers,
Tim

I'd like to bump for this.
well apparently it has been reviewed who bought wimm and went into an exclusive deal, it was google
i wonder if there is any new firmware releases that would complete the device / add new features whether its from google or 3rd party independent devs
Oh, at last WIMM One appeared on the stage of smart watch forum in XDA...
See also this was afaik the main thread for WIMM One :crying:

Just bought a Wimm One on Ebay. However, I'm afraid to do a reset because I'm not sure if it absolutely needs to connect with the old Wimm server to set itself up and I don't know that the server is still up and running. I don't want to get it into a loop that I can't get out of so I'm just using it as a watch with some pretty cool watch faces. Does anyone know if the Wimm server is still running and accepting new user accounts? I'd still love to find a current forum with people still playing around with the Wimm.

As far as I know, the server is still running, but they haven't been accepting new accounts for over a year. The person that sold you the watch would need to give you their login credentials; once you have them, you can change everything over into your name, and also change the username. That's what I did for the user that bought mine.
Thanks Uncle Louie, that's what I thought. I asked the seller before I bid if he had set up a Wimm account and he said no. I took a chance and bought it anyway. I saw another thread somewhere on here where someone had the same problem and was looking for an ex-Wimm user to get their account information. Do you happen to know if doing a reset will put the watch in a loop or if I can just revert to using the built in apps?
Wimm One user account
Any old Wimm One users out there who wouldn't mind passing their Wimm user account on to me? I have a Wimm that has never been activated and the Wimm server no longer accepts new accounts. If your watch is long gone your account isn't doing you any good and it would be much appreciated by this new Wimm owner.
hmm my wimm stopped syncing for quite a while now, i'm wondering if their servers are still up or did they just abandoned us who have supported their devices?
ever since they were bought by google we were left in the dark. is there any 3rd party forum or dev or support dedicated to this device?
i really dont want to throw it in the bin especially since so far no other smartwatch got the screen right
@akromatic. I finally got an account for my Wimm and it's still synching fine as of this morning.

cool, good to know that servers are not completely dead, no idea how long does this status quo would remain when they finally axe all support.
my wimm stopped syncing quite a while back and still couldnt get it to sync. website still says it as linked by the watch itself says unlinked and it seemed all the official support channels got axed aka the forums

I bought mine a few weeks back, synced right up, got myself an account, downloaded every app, dug up the dev files on various servers and even have both companion apps. You can still use vshare to install it on a jailbroken i-phone but it won't be int he store. It's still in the android app store though. The neat thing about this unit is the dev ability built in. So presumably it won't be an issue to flash either a custom build or an Android wearables build. At least that's my hope. It's really more of a novelty to me right now
Try going in to your wimm account and delinking the watch. Then fire up the companion app, login and relink it.
Stopped syncing July 8
My Wimmone stopped syncing on July 8, 2014. Happens to be just about 2 years after acquired by Google. I checked, it till finds my Wifi, so got to be the site. Went to their site and it won’t allow me to sign in. Anyone else now having trouble, still syncing, etc.
Thanks,
Clark
I'm having the same problem, won't sync anymore. Interestingly, my news feeds are still updating.

Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum, currently waiting for delivery (arrives on sunday).
Is there anything I should know? Besides rooting, removing bloatware (which seems to plague this phone like Asus pcs), and general android stuff.
Anything about pumping up the audio? Also, any comments on how's Asus doing as a phone manufacturer, I'm using a motherboard and monitor from their products.
Hope we get along :fingers-crossed:

I'd also love to know this! i'm getting a ZF2 in a week or two
I haven't re-rooted after the last couple of updates as I no longer use anything that requires root. I haven't bothered removing anything but just turned what I didn't want off instead. I went with a different launcher (Nova Pro) and different SMS and email clients that those Asus put on the phone.
Still one of the best phones I have ever used.

I'm curious to use it as is for a couple of days and then update it, so I hope it isn't updated.
But it's good to hear Asus tackled those problems!

I love mine. Best phone I've owned hands down.
Asus has done a great job and made its name in budget market, the phone looks good and doesn't even feel like a budget one
Performance is excellent and its not a slouch like lg or samsung devices the only phones beat this device is nexus and flagships costing double or even triple than itself .
Camera is not to be expected with exceptional quality it will deliver moderate to good enough pictures but in outdoor and poor in low light.
Asus has heavily bloated it (30 apps) but every app is inovative and to meet different tastes of different people i dont use their apps like mirror, screen mirroring / screen cast on desktop. But many people do use it, disable only after you feel it is useless and a bloat.
Try out splendid to customize the display and saturation(this is one hell of a feature and my favourite one also)
Its the best phone i have ever owned or used(never got the chance to try hands on nexus 6p)and i hate samsung so don't hope me to try hands on it even
How does it compare to imessage? Also, is it using google server or your carriers server?Im trying to better understand it......bout to pull the trigger and order from samsung the s8, come back to android for a while
Im trying to understand also what Google Messages (RCS and carrier dependent) offers vs the Samsung app.

very little information on it as of yet...Im just now ordering through samsung, and to be honest the s8 is the only phone up till now that made me want to rejoin the android side....All jokes aside imessege is the ****....Google needs to make sure android message catch up fast....I know apple uses its on servers not for sure on android message just yet
Wow, feels like forever since I've posted on XDA... Good to be back.
Here's the thing, Android Messages is the default Google SMS/MMS client that has the potential fur RCS delivery depending on the carrier you are on. I doubt we see it ever get anything near iMessage capabilities. You're more likely to see those capabilities pop up in Allo, if Google ever stops messing around with sticker packs and adds SMS functionality in. It's been reportedly coming for almost a year now (well since it released), so don't hold your breath too much.
