A few months back my phone's USB port started doing this thing where audio that plays through it will occasionally go all crackly and eventually high pitched before reverting to normal. Also it lost the ability to use in-line headphone controls and microphone. Audio is just fine if I listen with a BT speaker or something.
Any solutions?

My wizard will only output audio through bluetooth and the audio jack, no stereo speakes or ear speaker.
This problem started last nite when I was listening to music through the audio jack. I pulled the plug out without stopping the music. When I do this, my device should have started playing the music out of its stero speakers but it did not. Now, audio will not work for calls, system sounds or music. Works fine with a headset though.
I did a hard reset to no avail.
Nevermind, blew into the jack, problem solved.
Sometimes my headphone is unplugged by accident when I am listening to music with wmp or another player, then the speaker plays loudly my music for everybody else in my metro...
And as I found no option to keep the speaker mute when headphone is not plugged, I wonder if there is a way or a software to do this ?
nvm, tested it didn't work
Hi guys
After a year and a half of use I finally have an issue with my nexus 6p.
The headphone jack seems to be only outputing right audio. The mic works, volume control works. I did try cleaning the audio port, managed to extract some pocket lint. It looks all clean, but no left audio no matter which headphones I tried.
Now I am not sure if this happened after the latest security update or if this is a software issue. All phone audio only plays right audio.
I don't normally use the 3.5mm jack that much. Any ideas?
Everything is stock.
Thanks.
Nobody had this issue ? No possible causes? No possible solutions?
and am having problems with the earpiece speaker and or headphone jack.
Alot of the time I have no sound in call from earpiece speaker and need to use handsfree speaker to hear voice.
If I push a headphone plug in and out quickly alot the sound will come back to earpiece speaker.
I thought it might be the headphone jack but it seems to happen after using bluetooth tto listen to music as well as after using headphones.
Sometimes the sound will be very low from earpiece then become normal all of a sudden.
Running latest stock and bootloader unlocked and rooted.
Is there a wired headphone icon on status bar? My ze552kl asumed it was plugged in even though it's been pulled out. Try using a good cottonbud, apply few drops of alcohol to clean up the contact, it'll work almost instantly. Good luck.
Recently I was trying something with 3.5mm cable and that was big mistake :crying:
I plugged 3.5mm cable from my phone to faulty hi-fi system (didnt know). There was probably electro shock and now my 3.5mm jack won't recognize headphones.
Also there is static sound on my left speaker of headphones when I plug my headphones (I tried other headphones).
Replaced 3.5mm jack on my phone but problem still remains.
Music normaly plays through speakers of my phone or bluetooth. Means that audio chip is fine, I think.
Anybody knows what I can do except going to repairman? I dont have warranty & guarantee.
Thanks
