So I bought a poco m3 recently & this thing's gallery app uses my metered WiFi connection everyday everytime whenever I'm taking a new pic,ss,video or anything. can't uninstall or revoke permissions. is there any way to stop this?
yes, it's probably Xiaomi Cloud, try in Settings > Mi Account > Xiaomi Cloud > Uncheck Automatic Synchronisation in Gallery.

Hey guys, just received my DHD today and have a very annoying issue.
Starting off,I was stupid enough to import my contacts via bluetooth from my Desire(with HTC's Data Transfer) and it copied ALL of my contacts, including facebook ones,to my DHD's contacts. Then, because I didn't want my facebook contacts along with my normal ones(cause I have more than 800 contacts on facebook) I thought "I'll delete them all and google will sync the ones I want to my phone" and then deleted them all.
After that,I tried syncing with google but to no avail. It synced no contacts at all.No matter how many times I tried, the sync icon in settings started turning for some few seconds and stopped. And that happened again and again and again, each time I press the sync button. What's more, the arrow-and-circle syncing icon next to google's contacts will not disappear,it will stay there without moving.
I also tried disconnecting this account but it says that I cannot do that and that I would have to factory reset,WHICH IS WHAT I WANT TO AVOID,I had to restore many many apps manually(don't want to root yet) and don't want to do it again if possible.
ANY help appreciated!Thanks!
Log into GMail on your computer and check your contacts there. I'm hoping you didn't inadvertently delete them too when you deleted them off your DHD and pressed sync.

No,happily all of my contacts are there!Phew...
But still, the phone won't do anything.Strange is my Desire is alright...Or at least it seems so!
Thanks anyway!Appreciate it!
That's good to know.
Try this. Settings > Accounts & Sync > Tap your google account > Untick Contacts > Menu > Sync now > Now Reboot
Once booted up repeat, but put a tick in contacts.

Did that and guess what?It did something different! That's a surprise!
Anyway, seriously didn't expect it to do anything. But all it did was to say that Google sync is facing some problems and it will be back up soon or something like that...Guess I'll have to wait!
Hopefully it should sort itself out.

Judging from your username I am suspicious of something. You must be in Greece on Cypus I guess so, do you use any Greek localization?
I got a sync conflict and did the following to fix it...
Turn off Contacts sync:
From Home screen > Menu > Settings > Accounts & Sync > Google > untick Contacts
(you should also kill any Facebook sync enabled for the moment)
Then clear Contacts data:
From Home screen > Menu > Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > All tab > find 'Contacts storage' and open it > Clear Data
...then turn on contacts sync again and it should do a fresh sync from scratch.
This should fix your problem as it will pull all the contact data freshly from your Google account.
Good luck.

Well,it did sync but without the contacts being connected to facebook...And most of them were on my Desire! Is there something I can do about that or should I just connect them manually and be done with it?
Thanks again!

There is known issue about this and I was going to suggest you turn back to English but if you sorted it out by the previous procedure, it's up to you. If it doesn't work 100% give it a try and change to English and compare. I gave up with Greek as the HTC Likes and similar services don't work ok.

Anyway,I'll try and see what happens!Let's see if it brings facebook connection back to my contacts...Thanks!
Great to know it at least helped you part of the way.
Did you re-enable Facebook sync after? I found it can sometime before it links them again.
Certainly can't help you with the Greek side of things!

Hi,
I have signed up to Goggle Music and all appears to be working well between my phone and the cloud, however, the playlists on my Xoom are present but report 0 songs. If I delete the playlist it deletes the playlist in the cloud. I am looking for a way to completely reset the music app so it has to go to the cloud and reload everything. Trying to avoid a reset to factory settings if I can.
Thanks
Settings->Manage Applications > Locate your Music app. Then Clear Data, Force stop (if it is running). You can uninstall the update, then go to market to re-install the update, and you can reload everything.
Try clearing data for the app with settings > applications > manage applications > music >clear data. You'll probably need to select your Google account again in the music app settings afterwards.

Awesome, worked, thanks Guys
Hi,
I have the Nexus 4 from LG, running Android with all the latest updates.
For the last 2 week I have been having the issue that contacts disappear. It started with SMS/Text messages not recognizing the sender from the contacts. Then you realize that the contact has disappeared.
I then went to Gmail and did a restore and got back my contacts.
Today morn I had 1029, now I have 672. You can see images I captured over the day today. Top right shows the number of contacts.
I have already deleted the COntacts from the apps and re-sync etc.

I'm having a similar problem and although I don't have a complete fix I have been using the Go Contacts EX app to backup contacts to a vcf file and then the contacts can easily be restored from there. Google keeps deleting my contacts even though I have syncing disabled.
Looks like someone is deleting ur contacts...

Maybe that is what it looks like to you but that is not at all what is happening. I was setting up the phone before I gave it to a family member as a gift. I was the only one besides Google making any changes to it. I have deleted the google account from the phone and will next start using system tuner to disable services until the problem is solved.
try this...
1. Make a full backup of your contacts. To backup ur contacts use any third party app from the playStore. I recommend using [SMS Backup & Restore] by Ritesh Sahu.
2. Make sure you have only one main Google account syncing. If you have any other gmail accounts go to settings > Accounts > click on the other accounts and remove it for now.
3. go to settings > backup and reset > uncheck Backup my data (this will erase all of ur backups on Google servers).
4. Restart your phone and restore you contacts using SMS Backup & Restore.
5. Go to settings again > Accounts > Google > here you should see your gmail account. On top right corner click on the three dots > Sync now. Wait until it finish syncing.
6. You can now re-enable Backup my data. Settings > Backup & Reset > Check Backup my data.
7. Re add your other gmail accounts.
Good luck.

Thanks for the suggestions. I had tried all that before I posted here. Now I have used Startup Manager to disable the Google Contacts Sync service so we'll see how that goes.

I am having the same exact issue you are having. My contacts keep getting deleted on a daily basis on my Samsung Galaxy S4 Phone (Sprint)
Where you ever able to sort out this issue?

Yes. I disabled all Google Sync services and eventually got it to work (it did take some experimentation though). I tried both System Tuner (i.e., the Startup Manager) and Titanium Backup to disable (hibernate) it. I currently have Ubuntu Touch on that phone so am unable to give you the exact configuration. Good luck!
Badboy's directions worked for me.
Although, I didn't make any backups. I'm putting in my contacts manually. The most crucial part was removing all accounts except one. From that point on, things started working.
SOLVED!!
Recently, I found out I can't receive hangouts message notifications any more even I open the app. If i want to see the message i have to logout and login again. It is very annoy.
Before i can receive the message randomly sometimes work and sometimes not working. But since yesterday I can't receive the message anymore.
NB: It works well on iPhone, also on my phone other IMs work well (skype, wechat and whatsapp)
Anyone has the same problem or are there anyway to fix?
Thanks

I would start by clearing cache and data in the app:
Settings > Apps > Hangouts > Clear cache & Clear data
Settings > Apps > Google Play services >Clear cache & Clear data
Then reset the preferences in "Google Settings" and sign in and set the preferences in "Hangouts". If this does not fix the issue, you may need to remove and re-add your Google account to your phone.

Thanks, i just did the first two steps + uninstall hangouts and install again. So that works. Just wondering why? Maybe I install the new version of google play service update manually yesterday?
Cheers
Hi, as mention in my tittle, my settings keep reverting to default as if the changes don't get saved. For e.g. Assessibility, I have changed setting to enable apps with gestures to have access but after a few hrs. It request for the same permission. The same occurs with Google play games and I can't access it in battery saver mode? Is this a bug or something? Currently using JOYUI, most updated version.
Yep, this has been brought to their attention. It's been documented.
Google Calendar not syncing {option does not even appear}
When I look into permission manager or battery management, I always allow "googleCalendarSync" and all other google services to be check. Especially for autostart features. However, I just can't seem to get the calendars to sync. When I look it over under accounts> google> calendar does not appear at all. I have contacts, play services etc but not for calendar? Does anyone know what is wrong with it ? or has a fix assuming its googleCalendarSync issue?
Is it on demo mode? Hmm

its not on demo mode, I own a xiao mi mi 6 so I am familar with the battery management features and auto-start permission to allow notifications from telegram, email and whatsapp. All works except calendar where under SYNC, google, calendar does not appear at all. I also can't add other calendars under the default calendar app. Any updates fixing this?
You can fix the calendar sync issue by first uninstalling rhe google calendar sync in apps list, then install google calendar from play store.
Once that is done, the other calendar accounts will appear in your calendars app
