after using 3 years my axon 7, battery life was very poor. so i ordered a new one, and installed it following a video online. after finishing, i could not turn the phone on anymore. it would vibrate, the red led sometimes it is always on, sometime it is blinking red (maybe when battery is low?), the led turns on red when it is connected to a charger.
the fun fact happened when i put my sim card in another phone, setup my google account and to verify it was me, google sent a notification to my axon 7 phone. and i could hear the notification sound from the axon 7 sitting on the table! i tried a couple of times, and each time i sent a notification to the axon 7, the axon 7 notification sound could be heard. so it looks like the phone is working, but it doesn't show anything on display. do you know what it could be, and how can i fix this?
edit: I think I understood what happened. I damage the display cable underneath the battery (it is a black flat cable with 3 white parallel lines, it can be seen in Axon 7 battery replacement videos) while making lever with a screwdriver to pull away the battery (it is very strongly glued with absolutely no reason, the battery would have stayed there even with no glue as it is tightly packed). buying a replacement screen/cable is a little too expensive for this phone, so I guess I will simply get a new one.
Do you wanna sell your phone? I'm in the UK.

I just picked up a Nexus One in Mint shape. Not a scratch on it anywhere def. has not been dropped in or exposed to water at all I know what to look for. It does respond but I get nothing but lights. Please have a look at my plug in results as listed and give me some input.
1. When I plugged it in last night I got a orange light in the earpiece screen.
2. Today when plugged into the wall or my computer I get a solid green light on the status led.
3. If I pull the battery and plug it in I get a quick orange followed by a quick green light.
The battery also does not get warm nor does it show signs of swelling. I'm trying to narrow it down to a bad logic board or Amoled/super lcd? Normally with a bad lcd in other phones you'll get a back light of sorts where in bright light you can still see the images. Possibly this isn't a characteristic of these. Also if I plug in this device or hold down the power button would it not automatically turn on. If so wouldn't I hear the boot screen or process and wouldn't it vibrate? I've never owned one so I'm not sure.
Nevermind I was told on Nexus forum to go with the old batt pull and it booted. Now onto the research for the cure.
That is the charging light. Green is full , the other color is for charging.

I went to charge my Nexus 7 the other day and the screen was a faded black grey color and started flickering when I plugged it in to be charging. Any ideas about what I could do to fix it? I've thought about just buying the new 32gb model, but would love to try and get this one fixed for just messing around with.
Got it to stop flickering, now the screen just has lines jiggling back and forth really thinly, etc.
I had the same issue just yesterday. Spent an hour surfing the web to find a fix.
Here's the exact and simple fix:
Open the back cover with your fingernails or any plastic tool
Unplug the battery cable and push it back in completely to make sure the connector pins are firmly in contact
Replace back cover and voila
The N7 has the most easy cover to remove in case you're worried about it, just go watch a YouTube clip on how to do this.
Battery cable of the N7 is so short and battery is somewhat a bit loose, when you shake the device quickly it pulls on the cable and the connector is popped out a bit.
Hope this helps.

Hey guys, I've had my Nexus 4 for about a year, never had any problems, except a week ago when I dropped it in a Scottish river.
It was in the water for about 10 seconds, I was about to shut it down but the screen flickered and shut off itself, upon getting home I tore it down and put it in rice for a week like a good boy.
After which, the battery was screwed, from what Googling told me about a solid red notification light when plugged in, so I ordered a new OEM battery, put it in today, and it doesn't appear to want to charge.
I'm aware of batteries being too flat etc, I left it plugged in for about 4 hours, tried various button combination tricks, some give me the solid red light, some give me the flashing red light, which it didn't do before I changed the battery so that seems like progress.
Is something else in the phone screwed or am I doing it wrong?
Hi All,
I dropped my Samsung s5 (rooted) phone in water.
Before it went submerged(not more than couple of seconds) it hit the side of the sink.
I quickly took it out and looked for visible signs of broken screen or any other part. But there were no new marks, I wiped it clean, turned it off, took the battery out and looked for any water, but nowhere I could see any water inside or outside.
I then turned on the phone, It turned on all the way to homes screen , I entered pin and could view regular home tab, then I think after few seconds, screen went black. I turned it off and tried it on again but it never came back. Once in between in all of my attempts of turn off and restart, it showed battery and yellow triangle on top of battery sign.
I have tried to search and it seems like lots of people ended up with similar symptoms in their phone, but none of the solutions suggested have worked for me.
What I have tried is:
1. Leave phone submerged in a pot of uncooked rice for couple of nights
2. Take out battery and press power button for x number of seconds (starting from 10 to onwards of 2 minutes)
3. leave batter out and then try to restart (again time was variable from few minutes to several hours)
4. Soft hit on power button,
5. I might have overlooked writing a solution here but I wonder if there is any that was suggested that I have not tried.
Initially when this happened, I connected it to charging cable and red light would start blinking(where as it should stay solid red while being charged).
Anyways, now phone screen is dark. I can use adb shell to view the content on the phone which means OS is till intact and I am 100% sure that phone is working as intended. As the notification lights blink when I get an email if phone is on etc.
Its an expansive phone and hope some one can shed light on how to revive the dead screen?
Thanks
Sorry to hear that! It really sucks. Was the charging port loose or opened when dropped in the sink?
I know the blinking red light, instead of the solid red light, when charger is connected indicates a problem with charging. This can be caused when there is little water in or around the charging board or the motherboard and charger is connected.
If you don't see any signs of water damage (pink/red indicators instead of white), i'd say back up all your files and everything else through ADB, wipe the phone clean, in case you find somewhere to service or in case it gets worse and you can't access your files any more.
Chat with a Samsung rep online too, and see what your options are. Sometimes they repair it for ~$70, off warranty, and with that they might even swap the motherboard and other pieces too if needed and you only paid 70 or whatever they offer.
Thanks for reply, now charging port was shut...and after couple of days now charging happens ok, I have a solid green light when I connect charger.
So I am guessing you are thinking that either screen is gone or something else and therefore no possible way to fix this?
Ok so i bought a second nexus 6p from ebay , it was advertised as a new sealed in box device
when i got it it was immediately obvious something was wrong ,the packaging was hard plastic not the embossed cardboard packaging with the "P" stamped in it.
There was some glue on the battery cover and when i weighed the phone it weighed less than my original 6p.
I immediately proceeded to start a return with ebay
but i used the phone for a bit and it seemed to be working ok so i was thinking of just keeping it and asking for a discount but then a few weeks later i was driving and the phone slipped out of my coat pocket and slid in between the drivers seat and the center console.
The phone only fell like all of 6 inches had a TPU case on it ,i was listening to music and it was connected to the radio via bluetooth at the time.
As soon as the phone fell the music stopped ,i picked it up from between the seat and saw that it was off , i tried several times to power it on but it was completely unresponsive no matter how long i held down the power button for , the phone was just charged to 75% before i got in the car and this happened bout 5 minutes into my drive.
When i got home i plugged the phone into the charger and i noticed that upon connecting it to power it immediately showed the google logo and started to boot , but then it goes into bootloop.
If i leave it plugged in it just keeps on looping , as soon as i unplug it it goes off, black screen and i can not get it to do anything.
I never press the power button when i plug it in to the charger and it starts to boot automatically.
I never see the battery charging icon screen at all when i plug it in.
I got refunded for the phone and didn't have to send the device back.
So i am wondering if i should take it to ifixit and have them replace the battery but i am not sure what is causing this issue.
Could it be that the internal battery cable came disconnected when the phone fell(all of 6 inches)
would an internally disconnected battery cable cause this behavior ,( that is my theory anyways since the phone does not loop or do anything at all when not plugged in and when it is plugged in i see no battery charging screen) .
I am guessing that they did a ****ty job refurbishing this phone and cheaped out and used a smaller battery(hence the lighter weight discrepancy) , not only in capacity but also in dimensions and that they did not glue it in good so that when the phone fell the battery slid and shifted inside the phone and came disconnected from the cable internally.
This is only my guess and i do not want to spend $100 to find out if it is correct or not and pay ifixit to change the battery only to find out the phone is bootlooped.
So i am hoping someone here has some insight and can confirm what is going on .
Maybe someone who has changed these batteries before and who has tried connecting the phone to USB while the battery was removed?
