Hi, i just got my BS2 Skw-H0 fixed due to problem that cannot charge and turn on by pressing power or get in to fastboot/recovery mode.
I bring my device to Authorized Service Centre in Town (in Jakarta), they fixing my problem by replacing some kind of hardware inside it, it's "USB CHARGER CHARGING BOARD DOCK PORT CONNECTOR FLEX CABLE SIM CARD BOARD MICROPHONE".
it takes 2-3 hours repairing and it's not too expensive, the price about $32 or Rp 455.000 idr.
Well i'm so glad that i got my device back in piece and turn on again. I put the image of the part that got replaced.

Broken S100, hope to repair myself?

Hello all. My S100 have the usb connector that don't run very well: it is unfixed at the phone structure and it is not able to guarantee correct alimentation for recharging the battery.
It is matter for assistance center, indeed, but i have a very bad experience with Qtek Assistance in Italy, with 4 months of waiting and 100€ for a "in guarantee period" damage... Now that the 1-year is passed, i fear that the cost of reparation will be a bit expensive..
So, in your experience, what are the possibility for a not-so-skilled electronic engineer (me) to repair the phone myself?
Thanks for the insigh

Having the same problem. The usb connector is lose and not fastened to the mainboard. Probably to keep it from breaking when wiggeling the usb port when remowing and connecting tha usb cable. Instead there's some legs on the port pressing towards the mainboard. On mine these legs lost their strength and didn't spring against the connectors any more. I just bent them abit which helped for a month but now they are soft again and I'm going to have to do it again.
Anyone having a more permanent solution that's not soldering?
Maybe I just should bend them further and they might hold longer.
Having i similar problem with the backup battery and had to tape in place but it still loses connection sometimes.

Problem in charging

Hey ppl.. I hold an eflin.. What happened is that the black colored chip sort of thing in the USB connecting port has got damaged. Now am not able to charge my phone properly. Everytime I place it for charging, i need to keep something to hold the pins intact. Now is that the chi part is replacable or do i have to replace the motherboard on the whole..?! Can some one educate..?
can someone pls advice?...
Go tp a proper mobile repairing shop and they will replace the connector. would be done for 600 to 700 Rs. I had the same issue!!

Elfin won't charge at all

I got my elfin for about 3 years now and today it stopped charging. It won't charge at all with any usbcable nor the wall-charger. The led doesn't turn on. I think the usb jack is broken, but all the pins seem fine. Does anyone have any idea what to do?
If you say the USB jack is gone? did you try conn ur elfin to the computer? is it getting detected?
remove the battery, wait for few minutes, put it back (DO NOT TURN ON ELFIN) and put on charge.
If the USB jack is really broken then you can use a universal battery charger and transfer your files and activesync via bluetooth (only slower)

That didn't work. The computer doesn't detect it at all, I've tried several USB cables.

Well yes, that is the only thing I could think of, but I have none of those. They are fairly expensive to try if you're not even sure.
May be that light is not working properly.
Jus chk whether u see "Charging" in Power settings available in settings -> system.
If it says charging then ur light might have a problem.

I can't check anything, the battery is empty. That's why I think the USB is the cause and not the battery being dead, because it was already near empty when I saw it 'alive' for the last time.
I have the same problem.
Is the battery broken or the phone?
tried another battery
same result
now i'm waiting a tattoo
omg...currently my elfin behave the same way...unfortunately i don't have any other battery to try on
is it possible that your elfin one day just completely stop working? no life whatsoever???
i just can't charge my elfin at all...and yes the battery completely gone
what to do...what to do... *sigh
My Elfin did this last year. The problem for me is the contact pin used for charging in the mini USB jack on the bottom of the phone was squished.
If you look at the bottom edge of the phone with the screen facing the ground then you should see 5 contact pins along the top edge of the mini USB connector. The contact pin on the far left is the charging pin. The contact pins are springy. To fix mine, all I did was use the point of a small pin and gently pried up on the charging pin so it was more exposed.
Hope this helps,

Same problem on my side
In actual fact, when I got my fist elf, it only worked for a month then the screen stopped working. A quick stop at the distributor and a new unit was supplied. The new unit lasted 3 days and would not charge. After spending many hours swapping cables and trying other chargers and batteries, i came to the conclusion that the charging circuit had been damaged. I had the device replaced with another brand new elf and lo and behold, 3 days later, it wouldn't charge again. I took all I had back to the distributor and had everything replaced with new ones, from cables to charger to phone. I got home, flattened the battery with video playback then charged the phone again. To my dismay, it refused to charge. The broken device was returned again The distributor got so sick of seeing me for the same issues, they took my kit, and replaced it with a new elfin which has been working perfectly till today.
My guess is that the HTC devices have a very low tolerance to electric fault or spiking through the USB which causes the charging circuit to malfunction. All in all, my elf was repaired twice and replaced 6 times with new units in the first year alone. My elfin on the other hand may not be the most feature rich phone on the market but has certainly been my favorite.
Hi all,
same problem here. The power-pin just broke off. I'll try to mend it and report here.

Hi
You emailed me on this as well. You also gave some more info regarding the battery connectors being broken from the motherboard.
If the gold battery connectors have come off the motherboard then they are almost impossible to reconnect. You see, the motherboard on the device is what is known as a multi-layered board. There are connections that run between the layers on the board. The board cannot be split so that you could re-solder the battery connectors. Most often the battery connectrs split off between the layers where it is impossible to re-solder them.
If you are very very lucky the connectors have split on the surface and there might be enough of the wires on the surface of the board to have them re-soldered, but I think the chances are very low for this. You may also find that the on-board fuse has blown. This is a tiny component, but really it hardly matters unless you can be sure you have fixed the battery connectors!!

[Q] IC Power is dead

After trying modded USB cable for USB host, forgot to unplug from phone and PC then suddenly my phone shut off and came out some smoke from battery pin, the power cable clash with the ground cable
luckly I still can power on my HD2
then realize can't charge or connect to PC
brought it to the repair just to check, they said its the IC power,
here is the question, does anyone know where can I buy this online cheap?? and how can I fix it??
i would recommend you to repair it locally as i feel that power ic's are not sold separately !!
if the power ic is unrepairable then i guess you'll have to remove it from another hd2 and use it with yours or change the motherboard !!
