Motorola Defy MB526 stuck with a custom ROM - Defy Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone. I just bought a Motorola defy mb526 and I realized that it have a custom ROM and I tried to install the original ROM but when i connect it to my pc (Laptop Windows 7 x64 with the latest Motorola drivers and RSD Lite 6.2.4) it not appears in RSD Lite. I can't charge it with the charger so i have to connect te battery to a battery charger. When the phone is on Windows can't detect the phone either in any place.
I enter the bootloader with this methods and still have the same problem:
-Power + Vol Up
-Vol Up + Insert battery
I can access the Android System Recovery at least but i don't know how to fix this problem
I just try with my main computer (Windows 10 x64 latest dirvers and RSD Lite) but no luck either
Any help? Thanks

[Q] My defy not being detected by rsd

my defy is not being recognised by any of my laptop.
while i am successfully able to charge it from a wall socket.
not even in bootloader mood it is being able to detect any the defy using any of the available usb cord.
I am using the quarks gingerbread rom 11 11 11.
please help me as fast as possible.
and one more thing i have already tried to reset the cache.
will it be possible using bluetooth to be able to get back to froyo rom(so that i am able to send it to motorola service).
and also when the usb cord is inserted white lit glows up for a sec and will then switch off.
I am able to use my defy normally otherwise.
Seems like a physical problem with either your USB port or USB cable.
If you change the cable and it doesn't work - then it's the USB port in the phone, and you'll need to repair it.
Actually not it is not even booting it is stuck at m logo.
can i change the m logo(cyanogen) to normal motorola logo so that i can take it to motorola service centre(as it is still in warranty) by installing some zip.
i am able to access the 2nd init from it.
and more thing when i go to bootloader mode and connect the usb it says usb is connected.

[Q] RSD Lite Not Recognizing Droid 2

Hey guys, I have a Droid 2 (Non-Global) that is currently soft bricked. I have a Motorola factory cable converter (had to use it for my Razr Maxx) that I have plugged into the phone being that its battery is too low. My problem is that when I plug in the phone to the computer, RSD Lite (4.9) won't recognize the device, even though it is in the Bootloader (Error message: Err:A5,70,70,00,1F MEM_MAP Blank Service Req'd). I need to flash a sbf file to the phone so that I can unbrick it. I am fairly familiar with the unbricking process, but only using Droid Razr Utility (for my Maxx), not flashing an sbf using RSD Lite. Can anyone help with this problem?
if it's a Team Black Hat adapter it should work fine
couple of these you can do
did you install Motorola_End_User_Drivers
go to device manager. and look for unknown device
if there is an unknown device, uninstall it, it should be listed as motorola usb device
try a newer rsd lite version like RSD Lite 5.7
or try the ez way, all in one
D2 (a955) 2.3.4/4.5.621 ezSBF & Root
I tried your solution (the drivers and newer version of RSD Lite) but it still won't work. I might have to resort to the other option if nothing else works... When I plug in my phone to the computer it is recognized by the comp, but not by RSD Lite. I looked in the Device Manager and the device is listed under Motorola USB Device > Motorola Flash Interface.
D2 must say
battery ok
ok to program
Transfer Mode:
USB
Click to collapse
even with the errors and usb factory cable converter
It does say that. The full screen shows:
Bootloader
D2.37
Err:A5,70,70,00,1F
MEM_MAP Blank
Service Req'd
Battery OK
OK to Program
Transfer Mode:
USB

I noticed that RSD Lite does not show my Razr Maxx as well, even though it's fully booted.
try the ezSBF or a different pc

Either your USB port got replaced badly, or you don't have the drivers: http://www.motorola.com/staticfiles/Support/Experiences/Global_Drivers/USB_Drivers_bit_4.7.1.zip
Try a different cable, diferent port, different computer...

[Q] Milestone 2 shows up as unknown device, even in bootloader

Hey Guys,
I'm having trouble with my A953 Milestone 2.
I installed that awesome JB rom and I am now trying to get back to stock.
For some reason my milestone shows up as a UNKNOWN DEVICE via USB. I can't seem to charge it when plugged into a wall charger.
When booted into jellybean it SAYS its charging, but isn't
When I connect the Milestone 2 to my computer and run RSD Lite to flash a new rom I can't seem to get my PC to recognize the device correctly.
Any ideas?
Thanks very much for your help guys.

I have the same problem. :crying:
I tried to update to CM10.2 and made some mistake. After several trials and hard reserts I am only able to enter boot menu with POWER On und VOL UP. If I connect cableto phone, this recgnises it as cnnected, but RDS does not see my phone and I can not flash. I am also on WIN 8.1.
Try to launch RDS as administrator, it may help you.

What does your bootloader says? It should look like this:
Code:
Bootloader
09.10
Battery OK
OK to Program
Connect USB
Data Cable
Then after plug USB, Windows should recognize your Defy. If not, there should be problem with your drivers.
To enter bootloader, turn your phone off, press power on for a sec with Vol+ (don't release Vol+) then after 5seconds press power again.

I have the same behavior
I tried once more adviced process and now I could repair my phone!
It is definitely needed not only to run Windows as user with administrator rights, but also to set the aplication RST to run as administrator, as adviced in this thread. This can by made with right click on shortcut of RST Lite - select Options - Compatibility - and check Run aplication as administrator.
The description of steps to set must not be 100% correct, I am using another language version of windows.
But, the process worked now for me!
Thanks to everybody who helped and adviced us!
Now I am running stock Froyo 2.2 CEE and want to use Cyanogenmod 10.2
I can not start bootloader with custom recovery when pressing PWR and VOL- anymore. How should I proceed?

To enter custom recovery, turn your phone on, and when blue led appears (around motorola logo), press vol- once.

Have you installed 2ndinit and the recovery? Download this - http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1022582&d=1335285945, install it on your phone and open the app. Then press the "install bootmenu" button. Reboot, and when you get blue LED, immediately press volume down.
I assume you have rooted your phone.

It seems that you don't have custom recovery installed and this is a stock one. To flash any custom rom, you have to root and install a custom recovery first. Root eg. with SuperOneClick, install and open 2nd init, then enter 2nd init recovery (VOL DOWN on blue LED) and install TWRP revocery package. TWRP is needed for new roms.
SOLVED!
Today i tried to install sbf with another pc that uses win xp. The installation was fine, it instantaenly recognized my defy

Windows XP has a different approach to running applications.
Since windows Vista was released, MS changed the policy of how apps run.
For apps that access crucial resources need Administrator rights(similar to root permissions). RSD Lite is one such application so it requires to run as admin.

@remix96:
Have you tried to run RSDLite on Windows 8 in compatibility mode with Windows XP? On Windows 7 64bit it works perfectly.

Yep, it works. RSD v5.6, I'm not sure about drivers, but probably newest ones.
It's what I found in my downloads dir:
Code:
Motorola Device Manager 2.4.5
Flashtool 0.9.0.0
