Help with sudden idle battery drain - LG V35 Questions & Answers

I have had my phone a little over a week. I don't remember changing anything major in the last few days but I must have unintentionally done something which is causing excessive idle drain. All I remember doing is turning off some apps from being allowed to run when closed. It went from estimated 100+ hours on full charge to losing a ton in a day of basically no use (checking email a few times, looking at the weather a few times, sending a few texts). I installed GSam after trying to google what was wrong so I don't know what it looked like before.
Used 48% in 1d 13h | 1.3%/h 8h40m active
Screen 3%
Phone Radio 3%
Wifi Active 5%
Held Awake 26%
App Usage 64% > Android System 35.1% GSam 16% Kernel 7.2%
I did give it extra permissions in ADB but it still doesn't seem to give me extra info about what part of Android System is being a hog.

battery life gone bad

In the last week my battery has been dying a lot quicker. I have not changed how i use the phone and its unrooted.. My day is usually some browsing and texts. Dont have anything syncing and screen brightness is at as low as it can go. I used to have about 30-40% when i be going to bed at around 10pm at night. Now my phone could be dead by 6pm. I have downloaded juice Defender but that does not seem to be helping much..
My phone is now at 25% having taken it off charge 71/2 hours ago. i have sent 3 text msg and done a bit of browsing on and off via wifi and 3g...
Here is what my battery use is saying...
Display 37%
Android OS 20%
Mobile Standyby 12%
browser 8%
Dialler 8%
Android System 6%
Phone Idle 4%
Google Service 3%
Juice Defender 2%
Wifi 2%
Anyone got any ideas that would help would be greatly appreciated...
your Android OS is taking too much. Something is installed that's taking a toll. Try installing Watchdog and see what's taking most CPU time. Another option is to install aLogCat and check the logs for any suspicious activity.
Browser 8% with only 37% display doesn't make sense to me as well. Especially since your calls don't even show in the log (or is that "Dialler" in that log?). Android OS prolly not sleeping correctly. Try, as recommended before, Watchdog Taskmanager Lite from market. I'd choose the "aggressive" setting and also monitor active time of apps.

Android System - Keep Awake = Uptime

Recently flashed my HTC Panache (Canada) with RoyalGinger 3.0
Noticed that under Battery Use, Android System is dominating the other items:
Android System 43%
Cell standby 22%
Phone idle 17%
Voice calls 11%
Display 7%
When I click Android System it shows:
CPU total 3m 0s
CPU foreground 3m 0s
Keep awake 9h 42m 2s
Included packages:
VPN Services
Status Bar
Google Backup Transport
Account and Sync Settings
Theme Chooser
Android System
RoyalGinger settings
Settings Storage
Settings
I only rooted it 2 days ago, so don't know when this started. This morning though, I installed Go SMS Pro which seems to be the only significant change I made in the morning. On the battery graph display, there is a brief period of time when it shows the phone was not awake in the morning, and since then the entire thing is blue (phone awake for 9h+ straight)
Fairly moderate usage. Display shows 2h 39m. Nothing is set to sync except Google which should be pushed anyway
Right now, battery life is less than what I was expecting, having read some comments about RoyalGinger. Basically, I'm getting maybe 1.1x of stock Sense, when I was sort of expecting 2x. Hoping that solving this issue would get those battery results.

[Q] Need help eliminating battery drain which seems caused Android subsystems

I have a 1.5 year old T-mobile LG G2. It used to have great battery life and after a day of light usage I had 70% or more battery left!. However, these days it drains battery like crazy. I hardly used it today, and it dropped to 8% from 100% in 9 hours
From the battery usage I have been collecting using Gsam (it was recommended by some online websites) it looks like build in Android sub-systems are ones draining.
My battery overview shows 21% used by phone radio and 10% by wifi. However when you look at details, I hardly used my radio (8 MB) and only 84 MB of Wifi data. See attachments.
62% is used by Apps and a whole 40% seem be from build in system App (Kernel, Google services, android system, system manager). From the screenshots I already uninstalled the smaller apps with the X sign. See attachments.
What other steps can I take to investigate this problem? Any suggestion on what to do remove my battery drain?

S4 major battery drain

Hi guys so I have a s4 i337m running Android 5.0.2 and recently I have been getting extreme battery drain. It draims around 3% an hour when the screen is off and seems to be awake more than half the time! I can get may even 2 hours screen on time even with my 3000 mah zero lemon battery. I have factory reset twice and even reinstalled the rom and it if anything it's gotten worse. Any ideas.? I do think want to downgrade to kit kat unless if have to.
Not enough information from you to allow anyone to help. Install an app like Better Battery Stats, run it for a day, then post a log so we can try and help.
I have been using gsam battery monitor for a couple of days and the android settings as well. I don't now how to put pictures in this thread but android is and system are at the top. Around 35% screen 20% android os, 15% android system 10% other apps and the rest unaccounted for. In GSAM I get around 70% app usage with both android is and system taking around half that. In the system settings it also shows that I have severe wakelock. I was in an area with no service at the but that is not the problem. I am on wifi 90% of the time. And almost always have a good cellular connection when I'm not.

Huge battery drain: Awake screen off

Hi
Brand new phone here, not rooted and fully stock.
During last three days I noticed a huge battery drain overnight, so I installed Better Battery Stats. Being not rooted I don't see many info but one thing is clear: after 6h being idle, I have lost 17% and BBS shows one single line as per attached screenshot.
Any idea what's going on?
Thanks
try turning off wifi and anything that syncs constantly. go into settings, battery and see what it shows. no need for an extra app.
????
I don't want to turn off wifi at night.
With my edge+ all was remaining on and I would use only 4% overnight
I have the same problem. Go to sleep at night and wake up 7 hours later with 40% drain during the night. I don't use wifi.

I've had this phone for a week, and the first 3 days all was ok, but during the last 3 nights I am experiencing this huge drain overnight.
Problem is I am not rooted (and am not willing to root right now, till Android N comes) so I cannot really use wakelock detectors to see what's going on.
Phone is set up exactly like my Samsung S6 Edge+ and this one drain max 5% overnight.
Again go into settings and battery and see what is being used
Ok tonight I'll check
Here it is.
Unplugged and left 6h idle overnight with wifi on.
Lost 12℅
I cannot understand what's going on

Tonight lost 20%
Please note this happens only at night while phone is idle.
During day battery seems OK and wifi or idle do not show up in battery usage.
Also from the screenshot I see only 1% and a very low mA usage, so I don't understand why I lose so much battery when nothing is going on.
Is this really a problem? Your phone is losing between 2% and 3.3% per hour. That doesn't seem that bad. Mine is around 6% during the day (I have it plugged in during the night).
2% per hour in doze at night is a huge problem

Yeah, that kind of drain is an issue. I lose like 1% every 6 or 7 hours overnight with phone in doze with 2 maint. cycles
