Sprint sent me a replacement hero yesterday, which I received today, and the speaker on this thing crackles like there's no tomorrow! Holy crap. So thats 2 device replacements in a week.
What? I didn't catch that. I think we have a bad connection.

I asked them since I am having a nightmare with my hero if there was any other comparable model of phone they could send me with the hopes I don't get a third bad hero, and they said they don't even have that option in their system.
Nope. And they won't have that option until they run out of replacement Heroes. I know someone that went through replacement hell with a certain model. If you get another broken one, just scream a lot. They'll get you one that works eventually.
The only thing that bugs me about this whole situation is that I went and bought a brand new phone when I signed my contract and all they are willing to replace it with is a cosmetically clean, used phone.

And when they repair yours, they'll give it to someone else. They can't always be handing out new phones.
My. Sister had a phone that kept restarting, she took it back and got one with a blown speaker. She took back that one and they gave her a real new one.

I've been just calling Sprint. The goofs at the store closest to me are independent, not franchise, or somethign along them lines.
the screen on my hd2 stopped working so now after 2 weeks i received another hd2...when i talked to the tmobile guy he said i would get a new phone sent to me...i pay for that insurance crap for tmobile and i was hoping for a new phone...the phone that i got really looks used...the screen is new but it came with no cover and most of the tight spaces in the back and the usb connection have some dirt from the previous owner...the back part where the battery goes looks all bumpy and scratched like it got opened from there...i really took care of my hd2 and it looks way better than what i received...is there anything i can do?
Complain that you can tell its refurbished then ask for it to be collected at their expense. When you get it back again-whixh you will,do the same again and you should get a brand new 1. But check the serial after each one

I dropped my phone and shattered the screen today. I have placed the claim with Asurion, wondering if anyone has had a claim recently and if they received a new or refurb phone? Also if the phone was received with the newest, i.e. unrootable, software?

WTF? Mine was definately refurbished because it had scum and dents in the outer casing!
Other than cosmetics it came with 2.2 and rooted it just fine.
Refurb if they have any, new if they don't.
I received my phone today and it was a refurb. Rooted fine, but still a refurb.
Asurion put out a communication a couple weeks ago that due to low supply chain (which has been ongoing), they were shipping new in box.
I haven't heard anything changed recently, but seemingly the supply chain has been restored, so refurbs are going out again.
I have received 3 Phones from Asurion, yes, they love me...haha. Anyway, if you get a refurbished one as I did. Dont accept it. Call them back, tell them that you refuse it. Ship it back, and get a new one. Although it may take more time, it was worth it to me to recieve a new one, the one they sent was if far worse shape than the one I had before It got broken..

I agree.
Unfortunately when phones are refurbished they tend to not fix this issue.

so this really works? I just got some damaged mine after a week of use, (sad that this is the first phone i have wrecked within a year). I really dont want a refurb phone but I need a phone because of work. Did you just call and demand a new phone not a refurb?

Long story short, I got in an accident, and my 3 day old N4's back glass got shattered. I always had a cover on but I installed my Skinomi and decided that I should leave it off for a day to let it set. Bad timing.
Anyway, so is there a source for replacement glass, back only? I can't send it back to LG, the N4 doesn't sell in my country yet.
I think so is a back glass will at the aliexpress. Not original, but at low price. If you want original back glass you ned go to the lg service for the factory refubrishing.

Says 99 plus 20 USD shipping. Not bad. Although I'd like if there's a cheaper option on aliexpress or ebay or something like that.
This site has an relatively cheap back cover for sale, however I'm not sure when they'll get it back in stock again.

I'm looking too 120 is a little steep though... I may just wait until they get cheaper. I would pay that for the white one.

Im also from India,Im planning to buy nexus from EBAY.....did you got the back glass...If so can you share the details....will be very helpful...
Just noticed that if i put my finger on my camera and move it, the whole camera moves and even makes a clicking noise. Is this normal and if not is there anyway to tighten it up? It's more noticeable with back cover off.

I would take it into a corporate or authorized repair center and have them take a look at it. Maybe something became unseated.

My only option is to have Verizon send me a refurbished phone. Do you think I should? The lady at the Verizon store said that since the s4 just came out that the refurbished phone would probably be brand new. Should I take the risk? I mean, if they sent me a refurbished one and it was scratched etc I'd send it back and tell them send me a different one. Wouldn't send them my original s4 until I made sure I was happy with the refurbished one.

Refurbished personally I prefer BC the problems are usually sorted out I've never had a messed up refurbished phone.
Oh really? Just don't want to get one that's all scratched up and looks used. I guess I could try it out for a couple of days to make sure it seemed fine before I mailed my original back to them?

Recently, with sprint at least, I had to get three refurbs of my s2 before I found a fully working one. I didn't see any scratches or blemishes upon quick first inspection at the store.
Still unsure on what to do. Here's a video of my camera wobble..

Ok well I guess I'm happy. I called Verizon and they are shipping me a phone and it will be here tomorrow. They let me change colors too. I have a black one but I think the white looks cleaner. He also put it in the notes that I would prefer a brand new device instead of refurbished. I'm definitely going to check everything on the phone tomorrow. Speed, build quality, battery temp, call quality and benchmarks. If all of that checks out then I'll keep the new phone and ship mine back.
