Probably not. Might check the flex on the screen. But thats about as far as you can go

Ok thanks

i agree with @TheMadScientist. if you look at the thread right next to the OPs (well, it was at the time i wrote this at least) a similarly described problem is extant there. Its likely the ribbon cable and not much you can do about it

my touch shows only white screen

hay from today morning my htc touch shows a white screen and a crack on the bottom corner of the screen.i am sure that it dint fell down.
then what may be the problem?
anyone knows pls tell me...
white screen?
When you turn on your phone, there is no smart mobility.
Crack?
Is that an LCD problem?
i have the same problem with the WHITE SCREEN. bought my ELF 3450 second hand over the net. i am from the Philippines by the way and HTC units are not yet very common here and also the parts/accessories. it worked fine for about 3 months with minor problems such as Auto-Restart/Auto Power On/OFf which was solved using the "plastic on the OMAP chip method" - tnx for the forum for the info by the way and charging problems which was also solved by buying me a aftermarket charger. but recently the problem of AUTO OFF occurred again until it did not work at all. so, i tried to check the Plastic over my chip but to no avail the fone was dead. so, i decided to head to one of our local cellphone repair shops and have my OMAP heated thinking that maybe there are just contact points inside who became loose. when we tried to power on it was good for a few minutes then i noticed the screen went darker and darker and then it was all WHITE. we restarted it but it's just WHITE. tried to send messages and call it but there is no response from the fone. i'm afraid i toast it bad or may be it's just the LCD who got toasted, i am clueless.
CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME WITHMY PROBLEM. CAN I GIVE LIFE BACK TO MY ELF? WHAT'S THE CHEAPEST & BEST SOLUTION TO THIS? THANX ...
Generally white screen problem are caused by defects in flex connecting the LCD to the mainboard or the connector itself. Try to disconnect and reconnect the LCD, if doesn't work - replace the LCD.

You warmed the OMAP? Interesting....
This problem sounds really complicated.
And im quite surprised of your 'warming' method.
I've had the exact same problem combined with the fact that my touch was resetting constantly. I was about a minute away from throwing it out of the window when I tried the plastic-piece-on-omap processor-technique described in one of the threads here. It solved the rebooting problem, but not the white screen issue. After a very frustrating couple of days where the screen started to blink and shake and then eventually turned to white alltogether, I lowered my brightness to the second stop from start, and since then I haven't experienced the white screen anymore. I believe it is heatrelated.
Whilst not being a full solution to the problem, at least it renders the phone usable.
Hope this helps anyone.
Heating the device very seldomly solves anything, but causes more problems that you originally started with.
iam using htc touch (p 3450) for nearly 18 months . (bought & using it in india ) my hand set fell two times in water and about 15 times fell on the floor (from shirt pocket) . still its working fine .
and iam using "opera mini " for browsing the internet . for some sites iam using "opera mobile " . when iam on opera mini , continueously for long ours , suddenly it turns white . never come to normal screen unless restarted . but it happens sometimes , may be because of memory or heating up of some H/W .
Hi hotchamo,
my htc touch elf hat a similary issue, and my father just "wringed" it gently until the white screen disappeared. You should try it carefully, since it may help and it won't harm. Just take in in both hands and turn them in the opposite direction, so that the case gets slightly twisted.
If that doesn't help you should open it and check the LCD flat cable connector...
Best regards,
scheutak
Again - flex connector problem. 'Wringing' it gently will eventually result in your LCD cracking, by all means - go for it, it will solve your white screen problem. Permanently.

Please help me with my HTC HD2

hi
i have HTC HD2 and its new device , i set down on the device then i notice a black point comes on the device screen , when i visit the HTC Delare , he told me that i have to change the screen ,
but the device is working 100% and no any damage ,
what can you advice me,
attached the picture of my HTC
dude im no expert but it happened to me once on my nokia and was told an LCD screen (liquid crystal display) may have a very fine crack in it and a bit of liquid may have come out...the only way to find out is when you press that black spot on the screen does it have a rainbow effect?
make sure not to make it worse by pressing it. must be lcd which is damaged from pressure.
There's a few threads on here where others have reported this exact thing happening to them. Some of them fixed it by applying suction to the screen, whilst it simply disappeared for some others.
Do a thorough search - it's on here somewhere.
so what can i do?
what can i do ? should i buy a new LCD? and from where can i bought it?

[Q] Screen flickering, what should I change? Screen or Motherboard?

Hi guys, if someone here suffered from this kind of flickering >>VIDEO LINK.
How do you managed to fix it? What part did you change, the screen or the motherboard? Thanks. Really need some help. My phone now is unusable.
]]]]]] UPDATE 1[[[[[[[
Hi guys, just got my G2 back from the dead.
I send my G2 to a phone care in the city and they said my lcd is the problem, they changed the lcd+digitizer (the whole half of my G2 )and now the problem is gone. But When I got home I noticed vertical lines on my G2 when it is turned off, not really noticeable but if you look closely you can see the vertical lines and thinking that they change it with a low quality LCD. Even in white backgrounds you can see the lines but only if you have a clear eyes . I compared it to the original LCD and I don't see any vertical lines at all, it's all black. But the frame of the new lcd is solid like the original. So, in the future, will this new LCD survive or should I go the phone care again? Thanks!
***********UPDATE 2************
[UPDATE]
I think my G2 is working now after playing games for hours in 5 days, no flickering/stuttering/jittering noticed.
But, my IMEI was change and it was rooted jellybean when they give it to me. I don't know if they change the motherboard or the whole phone except for the body case and the new screen i purchased. I asked them about the changes of the phone because it's my second time returning the phone and the women on the counter said their tech just adjust something. I don't believe that, and then I saw the IMEI changed. I didn't ask why my IMEI was change, i'll wait til something goes wrong on my G2 and sue them. LOL.
I have some questions regarding this.
1) I'm not really sure if how an IMEI was change, is it for changing the motherboard?
2) Is it legal that they don't tell me what they change on my phone?
For now my G2 is still alive and no problem after upgrading to lollipop + root + twrp. Hope it goes all well now.

i went to lg service and they changed some filters on motherboard in 2 hours filter,EMI/Power 2 quantity i read on the paper. i was on warranty..
That looks crazy, it definitely would be a motherboard issue, or, I had a simliar issue while repairing them (I've re-sold about 20 of them) the flex ribbon sometimes gets dirty, or out of place(the one on the bottom under the speaker). You have to remove the back, then remove the speaker(6 screws I believe on the bottom, it;s an L shape). Once you do that, make sure the square flex cable is connected well, and there is nothing touching the circuit right under it(It has a plastic tape to keep it from touching).
The connector I'm referring to is right next to the USB one on the flex. For obvious reasons I got the image from ETrade supply. You can clean the connectors with 91% or higher alcohol, DO NOT use anything less.

When you replace your lcd they always tell you to make sure you have both connectors securely in place above the usb connector. One of them is the ground connection to your LCD!
Make sure both are fastened correctly and test before you seal your phone back together.

Hi guys, i have a similar problem. I bought a new lcd on aliexpress.....that is the video of the problem....
http://www.mediafire.com/watch/glzqihgdzz12jsj/Lgg2_lcd.mp4
The strange thing is , not in every operation make the same problem. after days i see that problem usually on facebook and a lot on clash of clans .
I make also a screenshot on the clash of clans and when i open the picture the screen flickering .....
its like when the phone show some combination of color make this problem
My Lg PRO 2 Phablet did the same from first turn on, flickering on and off, very dissapointed as i had mine direct from Hong Kong and couldnt send it back. What i did was to tak all of the screws out and take the plastic back off, then re fitted the back only, no screws and turned on, no more flickering. Then i put a couple of screws in and tried again, still no flicker, then after a couple of more screws by the sim socket it started to flicker again! Now i just run the phone minus a few screws, it must be a pressure thing!
Hi, i have exactly the same problem, specially in combination of colors (green red and blue most of the time). how did you manage to fix your phone ? did you change the mainboard ? thanks for your help.

SM-G935F - Dead pixels/screen burn-in? (Picture inside)

Hi,
Just took some pictures of my S7 edge to sell it (as I got a S9+) and saw some weird green "line" on the right side of the screen (hard to describe - but I guess the picture shows clearly what I mean).
Is that something that I may fix on my own or would I have to replace the whole screen to repair it?
Just surprised that this green crap wasn't there when I used the device the last time.
Best regards,
Nestade
Nobody with a similar issue?
Screen is damaged, not repairable, the whole Display has to be changed. They look like burn marks?

So i have the Error, which you can see on the Photo in the First Thread.
So i would like to know its a Firmeware problem or a Hardware Problem like Graphic something else.

What's with your attitude? I'm trying to help you here.
Your screenshot is in, what I assume is, Russian. If you don't translate it to English how do you expect me to understand it?
I guess I'll leave you to it.
Thats a normal Welcome Screen by Samsung, the Point is the Stripes on the Display over the Left side, there are colorfull stripes on the left Side, please look at the Screenshot, the Translate is a normal Welcome Screen after Factory Reset, so the Russian is not important for my Problem, my Problem are the Stripes which you can see on the Screen, Sorry that i don´t understand you so what you meaning with translate, now i know it but the Point is that the Display is showing the colorfull stripes of the left side from the Display.

OK I see. We're on the same page now.
I just assumed that stripe was caused by the camera.
It does look display related, don't see how software could cause this.
Several suggestions you could try.
Boot to Download mode see if the same anomaly is present.
Reflash the stock firmware.
Lastly pull the back off and reseat all the connectors, particularly display and battery connectors. Often they can come dislodged after rough handling or being dropped.
Okay thanks, i would like to try it out

You have to be careful with these connectors they are very fiddly and have to be 100% in right and have a special way of being inserted.
If the touch isn't working after disconnecting and reconnecting then maybe a connector needs reseating?
But the Display has the Same Error and nothing change, can i do something else or must I go to replace it but i think buy a newer One Like SM-T580 is better then, because this Device is so old from the Android 4.x
