So i brought it to an unofficial repair service, they said the ic UFS is broken, and they asked for $80 for fixing it. They initially said its the emmc that is broken.
Can anyone confirm that this is a fine asking price? I dont want to get ripped off. Is it true that MProM1 uses UFS instead of EMMC? Thanks before

I don't think updating FOTA makes the eMMC dead. If they say that File System is corrupted, it is fine but updating FOTA DON'T makes the eMMC dead.

No, It really is broken. Because no computer can detect my phone. All the computers in my office couldn't detect it.
I suspect the cause is my laptop, cause I plugged a 64GB usb, and its suddenly broken.
Now the question is, is MproM1 using EMMC?, or is it really using UFS?
I have a suspicion that they are lying, cause I googled it and most of the results are people selling Emmc for MPM1

Yes. It use eMMC. UFS is very expensive. Look at green name in the image in my attachment.
mmcblk0pX (MMC Block 0 Partition X).
For HDD, SSD: sdaX, sdbX, ... (SCSI Drive partition A X, SCSI Drive B partition X)
For Floppy: fbX (Flobby X)
For CD/DVD: scdX (SCSI CD X) or srX
For IDE: hdaX, hdbX (Hard Drive A partition X)
For USB: usbX

But they said that it is UFS 3. It is very expensive and for high-end phones only.
ZMP M1's eMPC is LPDDR4X + eMMC 5.1.

I was tooling around Craigslist today looking for a good deal on a tablet, when I found this post. The first thing I noticed was the price, so I had to check it out.
The guy is claiming to have added more internal memory into the Nexus, making the memory a grand total of 80 gigs....
I am a bit puzzled by this, since I have read nothing about anything close to this kind of modification. Is this legit or is the dbag trolling for money?

I Would say message him and ask for Pictures . tell him you want a blank piece of paper in the background of the pictures slightly under the tablet with say random numbers written on it .. 4567 or 9034 .. hehe anything. This will tell the story.

I sent an email asking for pictures with a recent newspaper or blank piece of paper with the word "banana" written on it. We shall what this guy is trying to sell, if he responds of course!
These have been on eBay too. While I don't doubt the possibility of soldering memory to the USB bus internally, I highly doubt that a seller would be doing this without it being posted somewhere, on some forum, to completion.
The eBay sells turn out to be OTG packages. Its likely this will too.

Hello there,
My Sd Card Recently unmounted unsafely through boot.
I was using the rom Omega v25, SD was damaged.
Is there any solution to fixing it?
I had tried formatting it but there is no media to format.
Any help would be appreciated.
I can not see it in recovery totally invisible, Ive tried mounting it through Phone settings and it will not mount.
Can not mount it through recovery either.
It does not show up in Partition Wizard for me to change the format.
I Have attached a Image for what it shows in disk management.

did I mentioned that it will have the warranty covering the lifetime of 4 generations?

Cat 1: those who are making backups regularly;
Cat 2: those who will learn that they shall do...

Hey Everyone,
This thread is only meant for people with the Pixel XL 128 GB. It has been observed many people are facing random freezes/reboots with device. The culprit could be the storage that has been provided with your phone. This thread is not providing any solution for the problem(sorry about that), however, it would be great if you can mention the Storage Manufacturer of your phone here, just so that a pattern could be recognized. Mine was Toshiba 128GB.
To check the storage manufacturer, please go to the bootloader(fastboot) mode. It is mentioned on that screen.
For more details please go to my original thread regarding my Pixel XL 128GB.

This is only meant for Pixel XL 128GB (unless the others are also facing the issue) for people facing random freeze/reboot issues. Thanks.
I just had a complete freeze up and random reboot in my pixel xl 32gb yesterday, so i dont think it has anything to do with just the 128gb. My bootloader is locked and I am not rooted or ROM'ed. I never happened before 7.1.1 so maybe its a software issue.

Interesting.
Hynix is/was *huge* in Enterprise level server ECC DDR RAM.
OK, I got it over the 50gb (52 to be exact) and I will let it go and see if I encounter any problems. Not apps, mainly pictures and movies of varying format if that makes any difference to the experiment.

After deleting the app I was prompted by ES file explorer to delete data, I chose to delete and phone froze then would not boot up until I booted into bootloader and restarted. I am on 7.1.1 Verizon, 32 GB , Samsung storage , rooted and unlocked

Tells you at the bootloader screen.
I got my Hands on some internal Documents of the Honor 8 Pro and found some interesting things. I read many reviews after the launch in Berlin.
A lot reviewers wrote that the 8 Pro got UFS memory because of the high benchmark scores. But it looks like that only the pre-release/demo devices got that memory type.
Mine 8 Pro has "only" the eMMC 5.1 and the internal confidential document said that's the official memory type.
I can confirm that my DUK-L09 has also no UFS memory. Bought mine from O2 Telefonica Store in Germany with a MyHandy contract.
I can confirm as well, i have a honor 8 pro and it has a "eMMC" memory type, many specialized tech website announced it as a "UFS" memory type...that's kind of suck
All the new phones were advertised originally as UFS then the news came out and websites were changed to remove references.
Now it seems the Galaxy S8 is the same.. I wonder how many others did so, given there's a reported shortage of UFS memory?
Hi Guys.
How did you check your memory type? Did you use benchmark? I'd like to test mine and check if it has the UFS 2.1
Thanks!
Just run AndroBench from the playstore. And if you got ~250mb/s and ~95mb/s you heave emmc
Mine has the EMMC type too...
try with app "P10 check", it gives you the Details what storage type you have

but still, i'd think that somehow in the assembly line, they'd have like one batch of emmc chips for one batch of phones. so, wondering if we can tell maybe the batches are more for black colour, or blue...
i dun think they'd have a batch where the chips are mixed (emmc and ufs). it would make recall/ tracing batch a nightmare if they really mixed things up during assembly.
would be nice if current owners can share more stats like:
* location/ country where unit is bought/ originated from (in case you bought it from overseas reseller)
* colour (blue, black, white)
* storage size (64GB vs 128GB)
* storage type (ufs vs emmc)
hopefully we can have some idea where the UFS is likely to be in...

Hi all. I have a 2015 Pro.
I want to replace the 500 GB hdd with a samsung evo pro 840 512GB.
I have a hardware drive clone tool (Piece of hardware that does sector by sector disk cloning.)
My question is can I just use that to copy the drive?
Nevermind. I found my answer.
Which is no.
It must be the exact same drive size.

Correct, it would have to be 500-500 if you want it to be easy swap in, if you want to do a different size there's a guide somewhere about that. I swapped mine for a 500GB Samsung 860 EVO and talk about quick!
