Hi,
I just updated my phone to the last software.
I am using a local html file with all my bookmarks as home page in Google Chrome. Since the update , I can't access anymore my
local file. I am receiving an error message: " access to the file was denied".
Of course it worked before the update and it still works with Samsung Explorer.
I have given in Chrome all the required permissions but it doesn't help.
Any ideas how to resolve this?
Thank you,
Daniel

Hi,
i have been using an elf (Stock rom) for a year now and had no serious problem so far. however, lately it's been acting quite strangely:
1. it refuses to open attachments (jpeg, tiff, pdf you name it) in the outlook, a security warning keeps popping up, saying that the file is not recognizeable and post security msg.
error msg:
the attachment is of a file type that could be unsafe. messaging will not open this attachment.
2. i cannot manage (rename/delete/cut) any files fm the explorer because it thinks the file is in use/write protected.
error msg:
cannot rename : `file name`: access is denied. be certain that the file is not write-protected and is not currently in use.
btw, i already made sure that the file was not in use (as for write protect, had no idea how to do that in the first place)
pls note that i have not added any new software/modified the system file recently.
has anyone came across this kind of proble before? and pls adv your suggestions (aside fm hard reset...ouch).
Thanks/luke
I am using the stock email client that came on the N7 and I would like to access downloaded attachments outside the mail system. Searches with ES file explorer turns up nothing. Where do these files go?
TIA, John.
I don't use the generic email app, but in gmail downloaded attachments are in /sdcard/download. I use root explorer to navigate there and can access the downloads.
Edit: corrected d/l location.

I think if you have the latest JellyBean 4.2 operating system they will end up in /storage/sdcard0/Download
Thanks. I must have had finger trouble. Under Jellybean 4.2.2 they are put in /sdcard/download.
Hello Guys,
i have an issue with my Nexus 7 Tilapia. I`ve downloaded a Marshmallow Rom and everythings seems to be good.
But If i want to download something in Chrome, it says that the file cant be downloaded because of an missing sd-card. First I thought that it was an issue by Chrome but if i tried to download the same file with the dolphin browser, it seems to work but trying to open the file it gives the message that the file cant be opened.
So i think its an issue with the memory access, because the fx file explorer says, if i try to open the download folder, that the access was denied.
I hope that someone has an idea to solve my problem, because i need it quickly for university
Thanks a lot.
Hello to all,
I found this annoying problem for a few weeks when I open the .apk files directly from notifications instead of starting the installation of the app, the same file is opened by the "File Manager" as a .zip preventing me from installing the app but permettondomi in vain to check the contents. Initially this did not happen, but he walked directly installation. I checked if the manager appeared as the default app but it is not nothing. Does anyone have advice on how can I bring everything to the initial situation? It could be a default of the last update (VNS-L31C55B150)?
Hello.
I think that if you long click the APK in the Notification Bar it will take you to the exact place in Settings where you can change the default opening Program.
If that fails, try to Reset your app-preferences. Have you changed/flashed/installed anything prior to the problem ?
I do not remember but maybe Precise And coincided with the upgrade of system
I have just had the same issue as you, yet when downloading the apk from a different source worked for me. I don't really know why it gets detected as just a .zip archive rather than a apk. Have you tried other sources or renaming/repacking the apk ?
Solve looking for the apk file you downloaded, and opening it with the file manager, but I do so in more steps
