What exactly is the Google Play System Update?
Current Security Patch is December yet Google play system update is only October.

Hello guys, i have this 2012 Nexus 7 wifi 16gb and updated it to lollipop. I really don't like the performance so i went back to stock 4.4.4 but i can't stop the damn lollipop system update notification. I found on the forum some solutions with DisableService and Startup manager but i can't find those services in kitkat (maybe google changed something). So any ideeas how i could get rid of the System Update Notifications in 4.4.4 ? (my device is rooted),
Found it, they moved the update service to google play services so this will have to be disabled again everytime they update the play services...that's that i guess
After updating to the new 8.7 Blu R1 HD update you may receive a Play Store update for "FOTA APK", this is the Adups Wireless Update application which collects data. The Play Store update will install an OLDER version of Wireless Update (v5.1) compared to the version which comes default (v5.9). The version which is installed when you update via Play Store is vulnerable to collection of unauthorized personal data in the form of text messages, call logs, and contacts.
The 8.7 Blu R1 HD Update released today DOES NOT contain an effected version of Wireless Update, so as long as you don't update "FOTA APK" in the Play Store you'll be safe.
I've reported this to Blu and am awaiting a response.

A new vulnerability has been identified in Android OS which allows a hacker to take control of a device through Bluetooth. The vulnerability has been patched in the Sep 9 security update from Google but it has not rolled out to the Z Play yet , so until then please avoid using bluetooth wherever a third person can gain access to your device.

Vulnerability has been fixed in September security patch.
I have a Japanese Pixel 4, 128gb version with build number QD1A.190725.003.B1 and it is still stuck on Sep 5 patch. The security patch has turned red and indicating that it's out of date. Google play system is updated to Dec 1st. Has anyone else experienced this and what options do I have to update. Thanks in advance
Hi. I'm still waiting for an android Q update from 1st September 2020. Is there something wrong with my device? My fellows' Samaung A series devices are already updated with the patch.. Thanks for an answer.
Edit: Maybe it's because i deactivated Google app and turned off permissions for Google Play Services and other google apps??
Or should i just wait?
