So, recently i bought the redmi airdots and they worked alright for a day or two, but as of now, when they are inside my pocket, they randomly (seem to only happen on part of the trajectory from my home to work) start failing, skipping like a scratched cd, and whey i take off the pocket they turn back normal, almost like the Connection range is very short.
I had some minor issues when i was using a samsung level bt headset, some fragile connection between my phone and headset that would case this jumps on the sound depending on how i tilted my head, but it never bothered me much, but right now, with the air dots it is almost unusable.
I had the problem with the stock rom, and now i'm on xiaomi eu weekly patches and the problem persists.
Anyone facing the same issue? Any tips on how to fix my bt connection?
This has also happens to me on another bluetooth hadset, but it happens so rarely, it doesn't bother me at all.
Hello friend, I face the same problem as you, already used ROM AOSP and different miui, all possible and I believe the problem is to manufacture this Redmi airdots, of its like mine as well. It's amazing that when I leave in a long distance, it works perfectly, but when I put my hand in my ear or when I put it in my pocket, it happens the same thing as yours.

i fell you.. on my samsung this happened so few that didin't bother me...
but this airdots are a pain in the ass.. almost to the point that i'm considering buying another one, from other brand.
Problem is.. since it happened on Samsung brand (tough it happened quite less), and also happened on xiaomi headset... what is the guarantee that won't happen on any other headset that i eventually purchase..
love my note 7 , but this and the gps are turning me down form sticking with this brand when i upgrade again....

Haven't had problems with gps. I suspect it's something with bluetooth drivers or something, wonder if custom roms would solve it.
My google search returned some similar issues from ppl with other phones and bt headsets/speakers... even the likes of pixels and s9+.. my guess is something to do with android Pie.. Since my phone bricked every time i tried to flash Pixel Experience i'm hoping for some improvement when Xiaomi release Android Q on miui 11... but it looks like will come only next year . I posted the issue on xiaomi.eu foruns.. see if someone is facing similar problems so maybe i can get the dev's atention to bt drivers..
Has anyone found a solution? Has anyone tried Android 10 and succeeded with bluetooth audio?

i couldn't try android 10 yet .. i got soft bricked every time i tried to flash pixel experience.. i gave up after the third time =\.. i'm currently on xiaomi.eu weekly (miui 11) and the problem still remains.
Furthermore, the only answer i've got on xiaomi.eu forum is that on some persons mi9 the phone work well with airdots. This may be a hardware issue =(

I have almost the same issue, i have tried two types of airpods on my redmi note 7 and once i put the phone to my pocket is stops playing, also if you basicly hold the phone between your fingers around the finger scanner it also loses the connection.

That's exactly the problem I have.
I have installed several ROM's, Pie, Q and MIUI (IN, CN and MI) and .I tested several different Kernels nothing solved, I think it is a problem in the driver or came defective ... Too bad this happened. I would love that Xiaomi would solve these isolated problems, but I do not know if this is possible.
Sadly I have this problem too, the only solution is to hold the phone on my hands. This sucks, with my old phone I did not have these problems.
I have same issue when i use my Jabra Elite T65, how we can solve this issue.. i have tried 3 roms but same it again and again... Can we find any solution or we should sell this phone immediately...
So, we have ruled out the brand of bt headset, since it happens on variable brands and ppl with airdots and other phones don't suffer from it.
We have also ruled out roms, since we have tried different roms with no result.
Anyone here using android 10 so we can take that out of equation as well, just to be sure?
I think is either hardware issue or something with bt drivers, but i lack the knowledge to investigate any further.
and i can't sell my phone and get other, i lack the money to do so atm.

I have this exactly same problem. I had bought Redmi AirDots a month after I bought my note 7. The first two weeks they worked without problems. The problems start to show up after I updated my phone to a new MIUI version, since then, when I put the phone on my pockets or cover the region of the rear camera, fingerprint sensor, the upper part of the screen, the airdots starts to lose connection, becoming a real annoying issue.

I tested the airdots on some phones of my friends, none of them presented the problems I suffered with my phone, and when I tried with a friend that bought a note 7 too, the same problem showed up. From this point, I can only think that is a problem in that specific model, either of a hardware or software.

if anyone wants to test the first versions of miui, I will leave the link here, I'm out of time to be able to test, please, who tested give your feedback.
first version global: V10.2.8.0.PFGMIXM
https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/archive/firmware/lavender/ or https://c.mi.com/thread-1921136-1-1.html version miui
Hello.
Have the same problem. Bluetooth headset stops work. I have tried 3 kinds of headset: one airpods, first 1more, and second 1more. When I connect and play music/podcast/youtube video the headset makes like little (low) shhhhhhh.
What have I already done:
- the problem was faced on official global MIUI 10.3.6.0
- update to latest MIUI 11.0.4 (PFGEUXM); don't help
- make a factory reset after update; don't help
Also, I've tested sending and getting pictures via Bluetooth, everything works fine. So, seems it's a problem only with transferring sound to the headset via Bluetooth
I give up, don't know what to do at all. My phone still has a guarantee period, but the repair service time might take up to 1 month.
Looking forward to getting some responses from you guys

I'm having problems when using earphones from the first day I bought my Omnia7. The problem is:
Earphones are fully functional, and there are no problems with listening music etc. But, after I make FIRST phone call using earphones or after I answer the FIRST phone call, my phone becomes unresponsive within short period of time, and I don't hear other people during calls nor they hear me. So the first call triggers all this. That first call however goes through without any problems, problems come after that. I tried using several earphones with same results. After I reboot everything works fine again.
I'm pretty much sure it isn't hardware related problem since I listen to music without any problem and the first call works great every time.
I'm running the latest version of OS and I got these new drivers from Samsung few days ago, but still no improvement. Anyone here with similar problems and if so, did you manage to solve it and how?
...
Almost 300 views so far, but none reply... It can't be I'm the only one with this kind of problem?!
I have same problem! Please help
When did you guys get your phone. Where are you now, have you flashed your phone or messed with any functions with in the Diagnosis App at all.
Omnia 7 has original Rom with mango update, no modding or special things.
Finally, some activity in this thread!
I had this problem, with stock Rom and also with several custom roms, so it must be hardware related. On the other hand, it shows some signs of software related issues, so I'm still confused...

Samsung in a nutshell
Has anyone experienced any cut offs in audio when watching video of streaming music while all notifications sounds work? Tried to reboot phone, clean headphone jack and clear system cache but still doesn't seem to work. If anyone has a solution to this problem, leave a message.
Also: I have looked around and it doesn't seem this problem is that well known yet.
I am having the same issue! It's driving me crazy.
I'm experiencing the same issue . For me, it most likely to happen when i play game. I tried to watch youtube for an hour and a half to see if this happen, but it didn't do I'm not sure if its because of the game or the software/ hardware issue
Today I noticed that audio from videos (received via Whatsapp, or on YouTube) would fade out after a second or so. Reboot solved the problem.
I play YouTube streaming all the time in the car, and upto now it never did that.
What app are you using for music/video?
Stock?
I'm using Spotify or Amazon music and Youtube mainly. And this issue 100% will happen when i play Fire Emblem Heroes, i tried other games for ~15 min but this issue didn't happen
I've been having this problem the last few days. It started with Allo messages playing for two seconds then stopping. Now it's happening to YouTube videos I watch. So frustrating.
Found this thread over on Samsung community forums: https://us.community.samsung.com/t5...rd-id/GeneralDiscussion/thread-id/2913/page/1
Sounds like lots of people are taking their phones back for exchanges. Might be a bad soldering connection on the phone.

Have you restarted your phone? Fixed the issue for me, so I think it's just a software-related bug. Plus, it only happens when I open games or other media when I have music playing (for example.)

multiple times....and I did the USB audio routing option. still doesn't fix anything.
only thing that gets the speaker to work is pressing HARD on the back cover of the phone about two inches above the speaker....and if that's the only thing that makes it work, it's gotta be an internal wiring/soldering issue

Man, do you think it's both a software bug AND a hardware issue, both causing similar problems?
The S8 really is a great phone when it works, but it seems to have a lot of infancy problems.
Think I found the solution.
Okay. First of all, thank you everyone for reply to this thread. I think I found the solution to the audio cut off problem. Every time when the audio goes off I just gave the phone a few Taps against my palm. So far, this method worked out pretty well for me.
The method I used was to held the phone by the top ear piece area and aimed the speaker area and just slapped it against my palm for a few times.

what a horrific "solution"
I have done similar.....press my finger hard against the rear panel...right above the speaker grille on the bottom of the phone.
so clearly, it's a hardware issue with wiring/soldering in the internals.
Here is a thread on the official Samsung foruns with LOTS of people complaining about the same: https://us.community.samsung.com/t5...rd-id/GeneralDiscussion/thread-id/2913/page/1
I tweeted that thread to Samsung and Samsung USA....no answer from either
I'm slightly shocked more people aren't complaining about this problem
Because your phones are defective and defective phones (out of the total number sold) represents a tiny percentage.
Just get a replacement.
Some of the comments on Samsung forums make it look like a software issue. If you restart your phone and it works again it is a software issue and the "tapping" thing is just a placebo.
If it was hardware (bad connection), rebooting would do nothing.
But that is what makes it so crazy, the behavior is mostly pointing to software but the tapping on the back has worked twice for me. I'm really curious about an official word (if we're that lucky)
same problem
I have the same problem with my S8. Couldn't find any solution until now.

So far no issues

same issue here in the netherlands.. samsung told me to send it in for repairs
guys sorry to inform that it is most probably a hardware issue since only few customers including me are facing this. If it was a software issue then more customers will come up with similar complaints. Bad luck we may all got the same batch of faulty phones.
The reason why i am saying is that i started the device in safe mode and the issue is still there. By tapping right above the speaker clears the issue and same vice versa while playing if tap above the speaker the sound again cuts off meaning to say IT'S AN HARDWARE RELATED THING
Got my 128 GB OP5 last night and it has been randomly rebooting on me while doing random things. I am trying to figure out a root cause and factory reset the phone again to see if I could figure it out as well but it seems to happen from doing anything as simple as pulling down the notification bar to activating Google assistant or just scrolling through my settings. Nothing seems to be repeatable as it happens intermittently. Wondering if anyone else has dealt with this and may have figured out what caused it otherwise I guess I'd have to order a replacement
No, works fine here.
i dont have OP5 yet so no reboots
No reboot until now but i can't pair any bluetooth device (Sony Smartwatch 3 and Jabra Motion Headset)
Mine hasn't done it yet but the wifi performance is abysmal, random pauses when transferring files, Facebook stopped while trying to set it up.
I have been using the phone since yesterday morning and haven't had any issues at all, not a single bit of lag, no apps crashing or anything. If a reset didn't help it that means it must be hardware problem. I would return it and get a replacement.
Yes, performance seems bad. Had a few reboots and WiFi download speeds are awful.

I've successfully paired a bluetooth keyboard with trackpad and a Wahoo Tickr HRM and both seem to work fine. The Wahoo seemed more difficult to connect but that may have been just operator error. I've not had any lock ups/reboots at all but haven't had the OP5 24 hours yet.

Quite the opposite for me as the WiFi is stellar and the 5Ghz speeds far outstrip the Nexus 5 this OP5 has replaced.
Haven't had any such issue on mine yet in Canada (8GB/128GB) *fingers crossed*

I've had the same as you -- Bluetooth Pebble & Car & Headphones have all worked amazing (including using AptX HD), and my WiFi speeds have been stellar (>50MBps download (Yes, MBps, not mbps)). My WiFi has not been cutting out in the corners of my house either, unlike my old phones and even laptop!

Yes, it's an issue for me. I've been in touch with OP Bug Hunter staff, and gave them the logs they requested to pass along to engineering to figure out why.
Yeah it kept rebooting on me even today so just got off the phone with OnePlus and an RMA has been created for a replacement device to be sent. Hopefully the next one isn't a problem, I'll keep you guys posted on the progress.
Umm had phone since Sunday not had any issues but today while on a call the phone rebooted it's self and again 20 minutes later just on home screen , I'm stock latest build , bought from O2 store should I take it back and ask for replacement while within my 14 days ??

Mines fine no issues build date 13th June
My phone is back with oneplus now so according to them should have a new one within the next week. Good thing I didn't sell my oneplus 3 just yet
I had two random reboots today and one random shutdown.
All these happened in my pocket and i realized the reboots due to vibration from reboot.
And one time I pulled it out of my pocket it was turned off.
Hi,
Got my phone Yesterday.
Started seeing random reboots today. Running latest version. I also did an factory reset of the device after I upgraded to latest version..
Any way I can troubleshoot this? Could an app be causing something like this? I do suspect that this started after installing Snapchat.. But I'm not sure..

I'm getting random reboots about every other day or so. Would this be indicative of a software issue versus hardware? I figure if this many people are having issues, but many are not, the hardware may not be a problem? This is my first OP device, so I'm just guessing. Hoping if it IS a software issue they can release an update soon!

Just got back from O2 store replaced with new device although it's the same manufacture date as one with issue 6/6/17 so far ok but it's only been on couple hrs so to soon to say, I'm convinced it was since 4.5.3 update as didn't do it before update but while i was in my 14 day return thought replace it anyway , I did contact 1+ before hand to ask if it's software or hardware all I got in reply was !! We will need proof of purchase to continue replacement procedure , that made alarm bells ring so hence straight back to O2 as it's far quicker than retuning to 1+ , I'm currently on 4.5.0 and not keen on updating ?

hello and thank you for taking the time to read my first post. been having an issue with my new phone and i havent the faintest idea on how to diagnose or fix my problem. i am in no ways a developer or knowledgeable in programming what so ever, but i have delved in "script kiddie" roots and customs roms with my older phones trying to breathe new life into those devices as an excuse to not have to buy an older phone, but eventually my samsung note 5 kicked the bucket and wasnt able to keep up with the amount of apps and multitasking i do for work. a friend of mine recommended that i buy a one plus 6t as its not only one of the latest phones (okay not the latest, but still fairly new) , but it was also cheap as hell on ebay for about 250$ for a used one with some slight burn-in in the display (the ghost image suggests this unit was a display model, but its a handy phone and i dont care at all).
Anyways, long story short; friend is a big tech guy and recommend that id root the phone and install a custom ROM (A.K.A paranoid OS) for greater usability and security. since he was way more knowledgeable with this phone than i was in the 2-3 days of owning it; i decided to let him go ahead and do it for me.
the phone runs amazing, and ive used it for work for a few weeks now and it has lived up to my expectations and more... except for 2 issues.
the main issue that this thread is focused on is android auto. on my friends phone, it works great! hooks up and connects every time he plugs in the cable, audio smooth, gps and other features i never knew existed with my old phone. my 6t on the other hand, works when it wants to.
it never connects to the radio and tells me that it cant connect through notifications. after some experimenting, i found out that it does connect; you just have to go to "USB Preferences" in the phone, plug the phone in, see the options light up under ""usb controlled by"", then tap on a different option (even though it wont switch) and tap it again multiple times until the phone connects.
once it does connect, it works great. until you start listening to music. the music cuts out every now and then. sometimes for 1 second, 3 seconds, or 30 seconds. its very random. other stuff that happens is that the UI on the radio flickers constantly or disappears and the resolution looks cut off or looks wonky on different sides of the radio. sometimes its one or the other. i told my friend about it, and he tried clearing caches, force stopping the app, even completely removing the google play service plugin and reinstalling it, but still nothing. after he tried it, i had phone hooked up to the radio for work, it worked fine for a few hours until everything froze and my phone went completely black and a bunch of colorful letters on my screen pop up that say "CRASH DUMP". phone reboots just fine and works fine but the issues before the crash still happen.
the second issue is that my fingerprint sensor detects fingers but cant read anything, but thats the least of my concerns and i dont care if it doesnt work.
my friend has no idea what else to do and i am kind of disappointment but i still want this to work. although i have no idea where to start or what to do.
if your willing to help an inexperienced dude get his phone working, that would be greatly appreciated. other than that, i hope you have a good day
EDIT:: just a quick add on to say that ive tried different USB-c cables and this radio is notn aftermarket. im using stock radio on my 2019 nissan altima

hello and thank you for taking the time to read my first post. been having an issue with my new phone and i havent the faintest idea on how to diagnose or fix my problem. i am in no ways a developer or knowledgeable in programming what so ever, but i have delved in "script kiddie" roots and customs roms with my older phones trying to breathe new life into those devices as an excuse to not have to buy an older phone, but eventually my samsung note 5 kicked the bucket and wasnt able to keep up with the amount of apps and multitasking i do for work. a friend of mine recommended that i buy a one plus 6t as its not only one of the latest phones (okay not the latest, but still fairly new) , but it was also cheap as hell on ebay for about 250$ for a used one with some slight burn-in in the display (the ghost image suggests this unit was a display model, but its a handy phone and i dont care at all).

Just msm it and run the latest Oxygen OS. There is a MSM tool thread that will assist you and, also a Oxygen OS thread too. This will solve what you mentioned are your issues

I totally agree flash the stock Rom
OOS is amazing. Rooting is easy if you decide you need it.

Does your friend have the the same phone? It is very common that custom ROM works flawlessly on one model but full of issues on the other, even they are from same manufacturer. The stability of a custom ROM depends on how many active user use the rom. Most of one plus users used oxygen. So not so many people could give you answer.
BTW, I would never advise someone to use custom ROM if they don't know how to flash by themselves.
Hello guys, i'm getting crazy about this because, after trying a lot of custom and some official roms i keep having this problem: when bluetooth is active wifi is slow and become useless many times, not every times tho, which makes me even more confused but i'm pretty sure i've made a right diagnose of the problem and it's BT and Wifi interfering...
It's logical to think this must be a hardware issue, specially if you havent experienced it, and i might even try it in another p8 i have (i havent tried yet because it needs a new screen)
As a user i just can't live without bluetooth, maybe some of you didnt noticed it but you also have this issue... i'm just almost all day using bluetooth audio.
In case you experienced this problem, can you suggest any solution ? i'm sure this has to be a repeated problem in many devices due to the similar frequency range BT and Wifi operates (congratulations to the ones who decided to make this standards this way)
In the moment i think every custom rom i tried had some little imperfection or issue and, right now my choice is EMUi 4.1, for me the most valuable thing is the feeling of the OS, the stability, fluidity, consistence, elegance of the interface, and i can have all that with this firmware despite this f***** problem which is a total red line for me. Of course i'd root and customize EMUI a little bit...
BTW... i seem to worried for a 7 years old phone that i just love to have in my hand but its supposed to be just a spare phone while my main one waits for a fix... well yes, i got excited, and frustrated, and excited again... but i guess i will have to accept this dramatic situation and fix my new phone asap.
Suggestion of any custom rom or general solution for this ? thank you guys
