As the title states, it keeps resetting to the lowest setting after a few moments.... It wasn't doing this before. Anyone else have this issue but with a fix?
Have you changed power settings to something different lately, mine did that when i switched on adaptive power mode, it kept switching from medium to optimised, then once i plug in the power charger and turned the screen off it reset to minimum time out.

I've tried messing with those particular settings and it still timeout after 8 seconds, I downloaded a app, that supposedly overrides the default setting, testing it out now.

Does anyone know if using the Green Power app will conflict with settings in the default battery manager?
ie i have green power set to turn wireless off for 30min and then on for 2min.
but i also have my custom battery saver mode to completely turn data off during off-peak hours after 15min of inactivity.
I would like for Green Power to work under my battery saver mode. aka i want battery saver mode to take precedence.
thanks.

Its like making two bosses settle for one more one less. Might create conflicts. I use 'super power' to turn off wifi. But then don't use internal battery settings.
yea i think im just going to mess around with both individually and see which one gives me better battery life.

Green Power doesn't work that well on mine; wifi & data are toggled randomly, wifi stays on when screen is off, etc.
I was just mailing with the dev of Green app; he doesn't know either why it happens; ""Low level things like Mobile Data (and Wifi) are quite device specific. Which makes life harder for Android developers than iPhone developers..."".
Waiting for further response, will post here if anything changes..
whenever Green Power turns off my mobile data, it will stay off forever until i reboot. i can get calls and sms, but data will not work. turning off green power and cycling airplane mode doesn't work either.

Considering the Atrix has a built in Battery Manager maybe if you set the built in one to the Max Performance where there is no restrictions then use a 3rd party battery manager?
It just seems there will be some conflicts.

Are any of you that are having this problem using widget locker? I was using widget locker on mine and GP couldn't recognize when the phone was unlocked... something to consider... I don't use it now (running Gingerblur) and GP works like a CHARM. One of the best apps on my phone

I use the internal battery manager only for the screen dimming when it hits a certain percent. Green Power does all the rest and I get killer battery life. I suggest you all do the same. Ditch the 3rd party launcher and set up Green Power with the settings listed in the battery thread.

Running any weird power control widgets? I'm using the stock android power control for all of that nonsense and it works perfect. Maybe some widgetsoid/third party something isn't registering?
It's a shame, and I hope it starts working for you bc it really is a great thing.
Right now I'm at 1d 1h 32m 18s since unplugged.
Ive had similar issues with green power on my N1 running CM7RC2.
I have noticed the issue seems to be linked to the Day and night mode Toggle if screen ON/Toggle if screen unlocked options
If these options are turned on then app may work for a while and then after some time data will just stay on and never turn off
If these options are off service will work for requested On/Off durations but wont turn data back on when screen is on or unlocked even if manually selecting to enable it.
I tried with this tasker rule set also but didn't seem to work

I can't find an automatic power saving option on my S7 Edge on Nougat for when the battery drops below a certain persentage (eg. 15% or 5%).
All I can find is just a notification (for 30%, 40% and 50%) that prompts me to "tap there" to enable power saving which then opens another window with power saving options, I need to tap one, it takes a dozen seconds for it to change the power profile.. it's a drag.
So I'm wondering if there's anything automatic for power saving (like in all Android phones since lollipop) or maybe I somehow turned it off?
My phone was on 13% battery and still didn't switch to power saving (just the notification to tap there to turn it on).
Same here. I also can not find the automatic power save setting on Galaxy S7 / Nougat. How lame if Samsung took default Android feature out.
I see power saving mode on mine just fine.

Yeah, that list is kind of useless from a user's side. Also unrelated to my question.

Quite rude when people are trying to help.
So here's is a partial answer to my question: there is automatic power saving, it kicks in at 5% battery.
Anybody found an option to raise that 5% to 15% or 20%?
I checked everything battery and power saving related in settings and couldn't find it...
Device Maintenance> Battery.>App power monitor. There you can choose the apps you want to set power saving for and choose "Save Power".
It is not exactly the same as in vanilla Nougat, but if you want vanilla, Samsung is the wrong device.

No, that's not at all what I'm asking or looking for.
I know about this list, it is also present in vanila android, and it is completely useless...
I'm looking for an option to set the automatic power saving mode to kick in on higher battery percentage (20% or 25% or 30%), basically anything above 5% what the default is.

Right!? It's weird that auto-power saving only kicks in at 5% battery, but then again the battery is pretty impressive.
I'm getting used to manually turning on the power saving mode and tweaking the brightness if needed.
Yesterday I achieved 9 hours of screen on time, manually tweaking the phone as the battery drained.
Maybe they forgot the option with the 30/40/50% notification to also activate medium power saving.. a simple toggle is missing there :/
I hope they add it in a future update...

Yes the battery is pretty impressive and maybe they'll fix it like you say, hopefully!
I've not been one for power saving settings before but I like how this works, except for the one bug I've noticed is annoying me slightly.
When turning off the power saving and the resolution changes back from FHD to WQHD my keyboard (SwiftKey) size changes to really small so I have to adjust it each time; not sure if it's a bug or because the resolution is changing.
Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
Yes, it looks like they have added a short way to reach the power saving setting screen, but avoid an automatic activation of the mode, rather then at 5%.
To activate it easily and using that fast activation, you have to wait until you get a notification for low battery, then click on the notification and select manually MID or MAX.
I just loved the old fashion automatic power saving....
I noticed the same right after updating. It is extremely annoying. It's frustrating when useful options which used to exist are removed. "Updating" is meant to make stuff better after all...
I liked the 2 power saving options before the update. One decreased performance a little & my screen didn't change. It was a little slower and not as bright. It was perfect and it's gone. The other was Ultra Power Saving. Apps were very limited. It was great when I was in a crunch & couldn't charge it right away. The new "improved" Power Saving is horrible & I hate it!
Updated my S7 to Nougat, couple days and regretting the decision more and more everyday. Yesterday I've noticed hey I'm at 10% and not in power saving mode like why? Oh we thought it be great idea to kick in power saving mode automatically only at 5%.....
There is suppose to be a Battery Saver option that lets you choose between 15% or 5% when to automatically kick in power saver mode. But apparently Samsung removed this option?
Yes, I also hate this change...
If anyone has a link to a petition or something please post it. I used to go powersaving at 50% and kept my phone topped off, I hate even seeing 2x%.
And I dont see an ultra saving mode, you basically flip the customization options each time? I understand the concept -- but we all like to have the phone at full-everything at least for the glorious first 10% after charge.
Then OK for the next 40%.
Then frugal mode kicks in. Being frugal all the time is just no fun.
S7 user here, the same thing happened with android 7.0 update. Really miss the auto power saving feature... I had set it to kick in at 20% and it was what I needed to have my battery last for a whole day. Now with Nugat update the battery doesn't hold for whole day anymore because of this, what a shame!
So there is no option to set it to say extreme power saving when battery drops below 10 % ?
Nope

It was at 25% exactly when the phone was new
Now it switches randomly
From couple of days it switches at around 50% then today it switched at 68%
It switches based on your usage, if it notices your usage is lazy in certain apps or during certain hours of the day then it will enable power saving, it's nothing you have to worry about and it gets better with time.
Where are you seeing this information? The only thing I'm noticing is that my screen resolution keeps changing from the highest to medium. I'm getting great battery life and I'm never in a pinch so why it keeps changing is annoying more than anything.
Edit: I found it and turned it to high performance. Then I hesitated but turned on adaptive too. I'll watch it for a couple of days and may turn it off.

Don't think so, I think it just monitors your usage and changes the power mode accordingly. Annoying this is that it changes the resolution too which it says that it won't do.

There's another adaptive power mode feature integrated in Android, they work well together.
If you set your Medium power saving resolution to the one you use by default then there's absolutely no reason for you to keep Adaptive power saving disabled, you won't feel any performance loss yourself, launching a game or app that is known to need the full performance will automatically switch back to Optimal, I recommend you keep it on.

Well yeah, badly optimised apps are going to feel the lower frequencies, I personally don't use those two and everything else has been fine.
My S10+ has not been receiving notifications every time after long hours of locking it and not using it.
Example:
I lock my phone before i go to bed, when i wake up and unlock my phone, i am flooded by all the notifications all AT ONCE. Which means i did not receive them while i was sleeping. These notifications includes anything, my games, Facebook call, Whatsapp messages, Facebook messages.
I also did a test and asked my wife to call me using Facebook to wake me up in the morning, but my phone did not ring nor did i get any spam messages from her on Facebook or Whatsapp. However, normal calls do work and my phone rang. As usual, after i pick up her normal call and unlocked my phone, all the notifications starts to flood in. The test is done on both WIFI and 4G.
Anyone else experiencing this? Anyone manage to fix this?
FYI: I have disabled Adaptive battery and any power saving options.
Do you have any bixby routines running? If so, double check they aren't shutting stuff off to save power at night or anything.
