"oneplus 7 pro 5g" is 3rd variant, in oneplus 7 series.
isn't it?
& this section is only for oneplus 7.
Not 7 pro or 7 pro 5g
I really love it's LTE speeds , on my last device (OnePlus 3) I used to get max 2.5mb/s but on OnePlus 7 I am getting 10-11 mb/s with upload speed of 6 mb/s

Yes if the carrier is supported , VoLTE works fine for me but I can't tell about WiFi calling as it isn't available in my country .I can see the WiFi calling option inside *#*#4636#*#* menu.

I'm finding the signal indicator not as strong although everything seems to be working as it did on my OP6.

Naw, even when it is supported, it was bad on OnePlus devices. Even on the Pro a lot got problems with VoLTE/Wifi-Calling.
I use VoLTE already with my Mi5 (china version and china rom).

I have been thinking of buying this phone for my wife and I, and we're aware that it will work on most carriers in the USA, but the burning question that we haven't been able to figure out is will it work on T-Mobile's 4G LTE network? I have found what I believe to be the international version on onedigitals.com, and ipmart Malaysia and they say it will support band 4 FDD-LTE, but I want to hear it from the horses mouth. Thanks for your help!

As per the tech specs showed on Samsung Malaysia website. the A910F/DS version supports LTE Band 4 and will work for you.
See it here: http://www.samsung.com/my/consumer/mobile-devices/smartphones/galaxy-a/SM-A910FZDDXME
Thank you avsroy. I also noticed that the a9 pro doesn't support band 12 (700Mhz), could this be a problem?

Anyway, because of A9 pro A9100, I switched from Tmo to Cricket, so far I am satisfied. Compromising the LTE but I get the 6" screen and 5000mah battery. No complaints.

Hey Eddie. I just bought an A9 Pro, and I also use T-Mobile. Here in Boston, Massachusetts, I get very little HSPA+. How often do you get 3G speeds or HSPA+ with Cricket Wireless? Is the speed fast enough for normal use?

o, i was living in Boston b4, I encouraged u to use other device to test the hsdpa of cricket by disabling lte. I was using LTE in Boston so I cannot exactly tell how hsdpa is doing. For cricket, I cannot say totally satisfied because the network down for 2 times within a month after switching anf now it is having the 22gb cap(the sales tole me). The hsdpa is usable and sometimes I have LTE lol At least the cricket representative tole me A9 pro has total 3g/hsdpa coverage by cricket/att. I trust it because so far so good. I live in CA though lol. So u should test by yourself...... I rely more on wifi at home and school now so I am fine. But 3g can definitely usable. Just dont use 1080p for youtube.....720p fine.
keep in mine that I have rooted my a9 pro, did all the 3g tweaks in build.pro..... lol
Does Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 support carrier aggregation?
SD660 has X12 modem, which is capable of 3CA downlink. Can someone please confirm if asus has added this in the Indian variant ZB630KL and if speeds are actually better with Jio and Airtel compared to other phones?
I haven't noticed any difference in speed of jio and i haven't got 4G+ sign
Asus has enabled carrier aggregation for the Zenfone Max Pro M2 in India.
Yes speed on my Max Pro M2 is much higher at times compared to older phones. I think if VoLTE is enabled it may improve further

Speedtest with fast.com shows speeds upto 100Mbps and averages around 70-80 most of the time on jio.

No worries mate. Which carrier are you using because I was able to get 4G+ on Telstra as well though I don't get VoLTE in either of my SIM. I guess Asus has not enabled VoLTE.
Is it possible to change the 4G indicator in the status bar to for example LTE or maybe even something custom?
I have root access, maybe there even is an app for that?
4.5G instead of 4G+ for example would look better.
Well, for some phones, AT&T is turning LTE into a 5Ge logo, for some marketing reason, so we probably can do something similar. Haven't seen an app for it though.

there's no app since that info is contained in the sim. Custom ROMs do it but there is no standalone app at the moment.

As far as I have read on e.g. Samsung phones you just could edit the build.prop.
Seems like there are different icons stored for each carrier.
I haven't found the option in any file so far, OxygenOS seems to store it anywhere else. Some CustomROMs do support it.
Is there a way to find out which file exactly contains the information?

Are you sure it‘s contained in the SIM? My provider (telekom.de) usually shows LTE on all phones. Also I have 3SIMs from all 3 providers here in Germany, everyone shows 4G. I don‘t think that it has something to do with the SIM.

Has nothing to do with the network status. VoLTE = Voice over LTE which just indicates that all calls are done on the 4G network.
I‘m talking about the 4G icon next to the signal indicator.

I didn't face any problems yet after 2 weeks of using !
everything fine
I've just purchased a Redmi 9 for use in Mexico. It has dual SIM. In the SIM1 slot I've got a Google Fi chip; in the SIM2 slot I've got a TELCEL chip. Google FI roams on the TELCEL network.
What's strange is that I get different signal strength on the channels. In general, SIM1 has a bar or two higher strength than SIM2 does, despite being on the same carrier network. Strange, and I'm still investigating why.
Both channels, however, stream reliably and fast. I've seen nearly 80Mb/s on either, using SpeedTest.
So far, happy happy happy.

How are you already getting it if TMO had to push out an update for users on tmo phones?
Are u talking about the 600Mhz band? That's n71 and is supported by our phone.
They also use band n41, n260 and n261.
n260 and n261 may not be supported but that's not where TMobile has released their dedicated 5G (28GHz and 39Ghz both FR2).
I'm not currently on their new 600Mhz band but rather using their shared n2 band currently (1900Mhz) according to the cell mapper app.
Getting around 130Mbps on speed test so it's not too bad.
Also I'm on Metro but technically speaking same network.

That being said again the op8 pro does have hw support for n71 sa which is the band TMO released for their dedicated network.

Could be wrong but based on https://www.google.com/amp/s/m.gsmarena.com/oneplus_8_pro-ampp-9919.php
It does. Also since last year's McLaren did, I would be surprised ours wouldn't

I just wonder if it is going to require an update... As the TMobile branded 8 did.
TMobile can't push updates to unlocked phones so if required we won't be able to get it.
That being said they definitely seem to be the provider that's less stringent about allowing unlocked devices on the network so chances are much greater than on AT&T's network for instance.

No, the update on the op8 from t mobile was to enable SA as well as a new security patch. I have op8 t mobile as well as 8 pro, can only get SA on op8 from t mobile right now and was only after installing that update. We will have to get an update on the 8 pro before we are able to use SA, hopefully the update is relatively soon.
Out of curiosity what are the performance delta between the 2?

The performance of SA n71 will be less than running n71 in NSA miss, simply because you're losing your LTE aggregation. However, without needing the midband LTE anchors, you can now connect to 5G on n71 in places where you couldn't before because either midband LTE was too weak of a signal or just didn't exist. Ping times for SA are lower on SA as well. If you want a direct comparison between LTE, NSA and SA, look at my other post https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=83222337&postcount=21.
Edit: This link also has some comparisons as well using Network Signal Guru https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=83222499&postcount=23.

Currently, t mobile is having phones still lock on to NSA by default. If you still have a useable midband LTE signal, chances are you'll lock on to NSA instead. You can manually force SA mode, although then you can't make or receive phone calls. Although that depends on where you are as well (I know someone in another market with t mobile op8 and if he forces SA, he's still able to receive calls just not make them).
Not sure if I'm the only one but this latest TMO update has messed up my 5g connection on my S20 Ultra. Whenever I go on WiFi for more than a few hours and then try to go back to 5g I won't get an internet connection and have to disable 5g (force an LTE connection) and enable it back on so that it's working again. This is annoying. If anyone has any suggestions or is experiencing the same issue please let me know!
Edit: Seems like I posted on the wrong forum (One Plus), but still wondering if this is a device issue or a network issue so I'll leave the post as is.

Haven't found a fix yet, have you?
What is the baseband version you have on 5G SA builds?? I believe, it should be >= 2.0. Unfortunately on all OS 10 I saw only 1.0.c8 something, which most likely will not support Dynamic Spectrum Sharing, neither 5G StandAlone.
