Developer support for SGS 4. difference betwen I9500 and I9505?
I'm going to buy a Galaxy S4, but the question is what do you think, will there be more people developing ROMS for the Version without Octa processor or with Octa processor?
I'm asking that because I own a Galaxy S and there was the same situation with the Galaxy S Plus, as there were only few people developing for SGS+
Will you buy a I9500 or a I9505?

The I9505 version will get the best support due to it being a snapdragon.

Only for AOSP roms.
For stock-base roms and kernels, I guess the Octa version will get the update quicker and more frequent than Snapdragon version.

PERSONAL OPINION WARNING
Many of us are probably getting the Snapdragon version. Easier to develop plus many devices are using it.

I really hoped that, because i won't use lte and in Austria we almost don't use lte and lte is really expensive, and I read that the Octa processor will be better for battery life
I just checked u guys are getting both

I know that germans get both versions.. but i'm austrian :/
We only get the quad version..
I'm thinking about buying a octa version in germany with shipping to austria .. It really would be stupid to have a LTE device wihtout access to lte...

Octa is actually better in terms if power battery efficiency and gaming
But snapdragon is better for dev support and it has LTE
I'm going with the Exynos myself

Wrong. Snapdragon allows each core to clock independently plus it only has 4 cores so it is much better on battery.
OP: if you like custom ROMs and such (why else are you on xda right now?), go for the Snapdragon, no questions. Many more people will have the snapdragon as the whole US and most of Europe is getting it.

But that's kinda weird though.. At first it seemed that in europe the octy will be released, and in the US the quadcore will be released..
Now its kinda like that in the us and in europe, most of the countrys will get the quadcore version.. -.-
that's just crazy..

this is how it looks to me ...
look at the previous galaxy and note series.. the non-lte version is available in almost all countries.. hence has the most dev support..
but in s4's case., since they cant mass produce exynos octa YET., they decided to use snapdragon even in countries outside the u.s... that's the only way to make s4 available to all countries..
they wanted to be the first to use octa chip?.. they sure am now.. but why rush releasing it when they cant give all people this octa feature they boast about?.. that's because they dont want xperia z and htc one to have all the spotlight..
and the result is what OP is asking now..
since the u.s. and most european countries will have I9505., the logical answer is the snapdragon will have more dev support.. and even have the higher chance to have cm..
Therefore, which is better? I9500octa or i9505 snapdragon?

Great thread and very good question OP. Right now, it looks like the snapdragon version will be the most dev friendly since it'll be the one sold in big markets ( US, UK, Germany....). I wish that the exynos 5 octa had LTE included. The note 2 had the same processor everywhere in the world and that was great.
luck of source codes for the previous exynos in galaxy s3 is a well known problem preventing the ability to create good, custom and clean android roms for s3. therefore, many developers have decided ditching s3 custom roms.
im afraid there will never be any good clean android roms for S4.. or it will take a long time.
what do you think? why doesnt samsung release the source code of the exynos 5? will it happen soon or it will be the same as s3?

It's the case of the S3 all over. Promised source code, only crap arrives. Half-assed useless good-for-nothing crap.
I think I also read somewhere that @AndreiLux said that the big.LITTLE technology in the exynos octa wasn't even working it should and it might be a hardware issue. Not sure where I read it or if it even was that, though.

I think you actually dont know what is arndale octa. It is a similar processor to exynos octa but not under exynos which is the base of all closed source and documentation. So it will be open source not completely but somewhat helpful to the developers.

TBH, all phones from MicroMax (India) and QMobile (Pakistan) have the same manufacturer, and its Gionee. Search it up on Gionee's website and you'll find all the phones of both of these companies. They themselves do not make it, Gionee manufactures them and they sale it here in their respective countries.

You and about 900 million other people. Every mobile device with a Qualcomm chipset is vulnerable and supposedly Qualcomm is working on it. So there's nothing you can do right now other than watch apps you sideload.
Thanks dear for ur fast reply, hop they will provide update soon,
I hope the manufactures stop using qualcomm and go to exynos. They perform better anyways.

Are you kidding me right now? I had to LOL at this. Exynos
Qualcomm chipsets and their sources are one of the main reason android development is so active. Exynos by Samsung is one of the most closed source chipsets ever (if not for MediaTek). They will NEVER share their sources unless its a flagship, but that too its a rare sight. Half the people on XDA avoid buying Exynos phones here because they can't put custom ROMs & kernels on it. And they perform better? Ask a guy owning a S5 how fast their phone is now. You'll get a nice answer.

1. Since I'm from india, will I have a dual sim support?
2. Since the processor is kirin, will there be bugless custom builds?
Much help will be much appreciated... Thanks
It depends where you buy your Honor 8.ones sold via Vmall India and authorised dealers in Intake not dual sim... If you want a dual sim import via China or European Vmall store but make sure the radio bands support your network/networks

Unless you import dual sim variant, you can't get dual sim support. And you need to pay import duties which might cost further higher.
Regarding the EMUI updates, as of now VoLTE for Honor 5X is done only for INDIA. So Indian version will get faster updates compared to others in my opinion.
Regarding the custom builds, As it is a Kirin processor it is difficult to get through.
You can check the Honor 7 forums about the custom builds they have. So that you can get better idea for Honor 8 in the future.

As of now India has Band 3, 5 and Band 40 LTE.
Mostly imported devices will support Band 3.
Mobile Network Support:
JIO supports all 3 bands. (Bihar, Jharkahnd, Jammu, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh don't have Band 3 support)
Airtel and Aircel has only Band 40 support.
If the imported mobile supports any of the bands of your mobile network, then it will support LTE.

Also in case of Honor 5X, I think No other country got VoLTE update rather than India. So think better on which is important.
I decided that dual SIM is important and so switched from Honor 7 to 5X. It depends on your priority on what you need.
Also you can try one plus 3T which is gonna release soon with better RAM and custom ROM support (Unless you prefer camera).
