I have the HTC U Ultra, rooted, for about 6 weeks, so far I had no problems.
I had poker on Facebook Gameroom when I heard 3 slightly louder sounds.
After that I came directly to the bootloop.
When trying to get into the Recover Mod, I'm only up to the htc logo.
Is there still a possibility for repair?

Hello.
yesterday I had a great dislike ...
My Mega crashed the front speaker only works with headset or hands free.
I have no idea what will be.
this is what I have done and nothing helped.
1 - softreset
2 - hardreset
3 - reinstall the factory ROM
4 - softreset with the factory rom
I also reinstalled the original SPL and nothing, front speaker this completely silent ...
the phone has not even one month, and I have to send to the warranty?? please, do I really have bad luck with the HTCs?
it's already the 3 different model of HTC gets me with these weird problems ...
Someone can give me a hand?

Sounds to me like a hardware failure mate. get it replaced/fixed under warranty.

One question, since it has not got one month of use, I'll see if it's to exchange, I was thinking to change the tattoo, it will be better?
The touch is more beautiful, but I have this to give problems ...

have you tried taking out the battery for a while, then do the reset etc...? maybe, just maybe, the static electric? I dropped twice my touch2 and it fall apart big time, but, put them back and it still works, maybe I was lucky?

Yes, i do that.
I already take to warranty.
now I have to Waite for at least 30 days...
the assistance of htc in Portugal sucks. (sorry) but is true.
May previous experience says that.
Never but never come back fixed, they always do some chea* and never work.
Trying to find out if my cases are just really bad luck or are there really issues with the touch screen on the HERO!
Bought my phone in October 2009 and now have the bring in the phone for the 5th time to HTC. My son has also an Hero and he faces the same problems.
Symptoms:
- lower region no or very bad response, almost unable to use the backspace in sms
- about 9 mm from the bottom the whole screen no response
- screen starts flipping/switching between the different menu screens
For my phone the lcd already 3 times replaced and for my son once.
When I brought in my phone last time I asked them if there where people like me who have the same problems with the touch screen and they assured me there where no screen problems!!!
I really getting tired of going to HTC service centre and have to wait one week before my phone comes back, last time even almost 2 weeks.
I do like the phone but with these kind of problems I wonder just bad luck or is there something wrong with the design?
Didn't drop the phone once, would say I am a heavy user including mobile network sharing function.
Use stock rom and have installed facebook and yahoo. Don't even dear to put the phone in my pocket because I am afraid that would cause the problems.
Who has similar experience and is willing to share. Would like to find out more before I send a big complain letter to HTC?

Today received a brand new Hero from HTC. All new except the back cover

Many people have had this problem. Mine was sent to HTC, 3 months ago or so. Haven't had the problem since.
Maybe your repair-center uses the wrong (old) acreens.
Mine was sent to HTC Belgium. I live in the Netherlands.
same here...got my phone about 3 month ago...I had loaded alot apps when I first got the phone. and the lower part of screen was DEAD at one point. Hard reset that's all I did and works fine for the last few months
tkrewinkel, mach2005, have you flashed a custom ROM or smth? (threkwinkel i know you mention that u've used a stock rom.. but your not clear if you've used a custom ROM and revert back to the stock one .. )
The problem does not apear when the screen is cold. After a while when the screen is at full brightness it gets warmer and the problem gets worse. HTC told me that they had to repair a lot of devices and it is a common hardware-problem. This has absolutely NOTHING to do with the ROM-version you are on!

Why did you ask that question ? Do you think that custom ROM may cause that problem with our hero screen ?
I had the same issue and posted earlier in the forum..i never installed custom rom but for some reason the screen wasnt responsive enough and had a tough time sending mails n msgs..returned it to htc and got it repaired.
my hero is working perfectly and looking fwd to the 2.1 update

Yeah i know...in my case it appeared just after changing my rom...i had an overclocked kernel...
I think i'm gonna use my warranty..

I had exactly the same issue in the region of the screen you stated (bottom right). It has been repaired once so far. I hope it doesn't happen every few months!
Can we have on general thread for these touch screen problems.
It is a common issue i believe. I want to know if the htc phones that were send for repairs came across the same problem again?

I would take it back to tmobil store If you just got it. Its a different story if you tryed to do something to the phone and now its messed up.

even if u bought on ebay and u have insurance, u should still have a manufacturers warranty for the phone and they should be able to replace for no charge, dont hurt to ask, all phones should have a man warranty for a year at least, quote me if im wrong ppl

I'm confident I could walk you through fixing it... someone probably flashed something to it wrong and decided to sell it on ebay cause they didn't know how to fix it... you can find my google talk/ yahoo info in my profile

manufacture warranty only covers hardware defects... this sounds like someone flashed a bad image to it... should be a quick fix really
any one can help pls
If u got into recovery, does it go into clockworkrecovery? or the stock recovery?

Like as u know Samsung has some codes after which u press it takes you to testing platform. So does LG has it also im guessing it has. if so can anyone share what is that Code?
Like to test screen color / testing touch censor etc.
and what other Imp things i need to Check..

As far as I know there isn't anything you really need to check. I'd recommend unlocking the bootloader and flashing a custom recovery/rooting straight away though because that saves you the trouble of losing your data should you decide to do it later.

thanks but wont u consider checking ur phone first before doing all of these? like LCD colors touch responsive .. I just wanted to know the testing Code for LG as Samsung has

Make a few calls, check that the earpiece and mic work fine.
Open a blank webpage, it'll show you if you have a yellow tint. (Which should go away in a week or so)
Run all your usual apps, see that the screen, camera, speaker etc. are all working fine.
Basically should be it.....

Ok The MZF is not mine but my dad's I've got a normal Z from the EU, he got his direct from Moto USA ... Any ways this is the third time his MZF has gone bad the screen goes all white static like back in the day... The first two Moto fixed but now they say the Garantie is up from when he first baught the MZF... Dad don't mess with root or anything so full stock and he takes good care of it . Anybody else have or seen this issue ? I've had no probs with my eu version Moto z ...

Thanks for your info atleast I know it's a Moto fault kinda weird happened 3 times and each time a new cell ... Must be a MZF thing ... ??
