I recently rooted my phone. I wanted to install a custom rom. My friend installed cleankat v2.6 but i wanted to go for something better. As expected none of the nicer ones like cyanogenmod or paranoid android or aokp roms were available. I managed to install htc sense rom . it is working but has lots of bugs. As soon as i make a call it crashes and screen goes blank. Nothing opens .it doesnt even swit h off and i have to remove the battery every time i make a call and reboot it.
Secondly many apps including settings crash for no reason.
Plz. Help coz i really want dat rom working fine

Hi Murali,
The nature of mobile development is such as you have mentioned above. It doesn't work like windows or linux etc where you can install a generic OS on any system configuration by any manufacturer. The firmware has to be specifically built for your device. It takes great skill to port inter-device especially inter-manufacturer ROMs, so the fact that you actually have a bootable and semi functional SENSE ROM for a non HTC device itself is a big achievement. But it will never function on your Micromax phone like it does on an actual HTC phone. There are too many dependencies to counter. Also, there is a lot of closed source code that is not freely available to developers, especially with overlays like Sense and TouchWiz.
I would suggest you look for a good Custom ROM built on your phone's official firmware or wait for support from CyanogenMod, PA, Slim or such series to offer support to your device.
Sorry for the bad news, but I hope it helps.

It might. Then again, it might not. Changing kernels can make a huge difference in performance, both in a good and a bad way. There are too many variables to contend with, and without a strong active community behind your device, any answer I give you will be just guesswork and not based on facts. You can always try out a couple of compatible kernels and test out the difference.
Sorry I can't be of more help.
Hey guys, I'm new here.. like super new and that's why I can't post to The Best CM12.1 CyanogenMod 12.1 ROM For Lenovo A6000/Plus (Stable) thread.
I would love to flash this rom. Stock KK is so slow and hanging every time I try to run more than one app (Spotify + Snapchat? Impossible!) But here is the thing. I've never did that before. I guess I know how to flash TWRP recovery and the actual ROM but I have no clue what to do with so many kernels.
My questions are:
1. Why do I need flash some kernel? I just want functional phone for everyday use with the best peformance+battery backup. I'm not looking for some "everyday flashing something new.". so can I just flash the rom without any addiotional kernel?
2. Dolby! I love music and I love Dolby. Can I flash Dolby Atmos?
3. Nobody is talking about heavy RAM usage (like Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram - that's all I need actually). I know, 1 Gb is not many but I was suprised when my friend's 1GB ram phone can handle running Snapchat, Messenger and Spotify in one time without any significant lag! HOW?!
4. What is No Optimization? Why do I need it? What is this good for?
5. What is screen blinking bug? I just want to know if I wouldn't mind it.
6. Is there any guide how to revert back to Kitkat stock rom? I'm always trying to be safe.
7. In Kitkat there's possibility to swap internal storage and SD card. Is it presented also here?
Thank you so much for your answers! Really guys! And sorry, my English is bad, I know.
Have a nice day.
i will be glad to guide you
1-make a backup for every thing in twrp recovery savet in ext sd -just in case
2-as a beginner don't disturb your self withe custom kernel section
3-just download the rom and update 11 and gapps
4-no optimization for advanced users who are like to use their own optimization
5-blinking bug is bug common in this rom the screen goes off for 1 sec and turn on again
6-you have to try the rom by your self to judge it for me it is the best rom i have in this device

i shall make a video tutorial on how to flash cyanogenmod 12.1 on a6000 by tonight =)
i have a question too that which rom is stable, ive tried cyanogenmod 12.1 but it lags i believe it hits a bottleneck limit causing it to lag because i cant seem to browse websites on chrome in peace without it hanging for a few...is there any other stable lollipop rom which doesnt consume too much RAM or should i add a custom kernel to squeeze out more performance

Custom kernels r used to squeeze more power and performance, so that u can get the most out of ur phone. If u know how to use custom kernels, dn go ahead with the flashing of ur preferred custom kernel. All ur hanging and lagging isues will be minimized at a great level. I personally prefer telo kernel by Mr. AW., and used the balanced setting given by ED300, and some settings that satisfy me, i haven't faced any lag thereafter.
Good luck!!
There are too many roms now available for 3s....So I am getting confused for which is the BEST for gaming ?
I tried the most downloaded rr and los roms but somehow rr rom lagged much compared to new carbon rom. (for me... I don't know about others) And los doesn't have the ram bar feature ( Yes I want the ram bar specifically, other features don't matter much.
So if anyone who is expert in rom testing can tell me which one is the smoothest rom of all please it will be a very big help....
I am not saying other roms are bad or anything but please if anyone can tell me it is much appreciated .
Thank you
And i made a thread earlier asking about how the f2fs format increases performance compared to ext4 but no one replied...
Can anyone explain it in simple words as I am not an expert in this area ? (As you can see I am a Junior member)
Hi. I dont think any rom make different in this case. The Snapdragon 430 its a very good "CPU" and you can do almost anything, but it's a low perfil CPU and cant do miracles. Yea, you can play a lot of games and emulators but I dont think that any Rom (Stock or Custom) can do a (notable) different.
You can gain better battery or faster UI etc. with a specific rom, but if a game going slow, will go slow with another Roms.
I used Stock MIUI, stables and Beta. Custom like Arvanasoft (MIUI 8 and MIUI 9)... LineageOS, Xperience and right now I am using ViperOS because is fast and almost perfect, and for games I dont saw different. I must to say, I dont play a lot and I most using emulators like PPSSPP and the result is same.

Then can you tell me which one is the lightest yet stable ( with good camera ) and has a option for ram bar? Thanks. And do you know the difference between f2fs and ext4 ?
Mmmmm No, I dont know the difference between ext4 or f2fs, even I don't know which we are using.
About the Rom, if you want a MIUI rom, I think Arvanasoft with MUI9 is the best. If you want Custom Rom with Nougat, I used LineageOS, Xperience and others, but the best I already used and I am using is ViperOS. Good battery, stable, few customizations and very fast. Any bug till now.

Hello, I have a question, I have a Moto G4 XT1621, which in STOCK works correctly and smoothly, but when installing a CUSTOM ROM, a LAG and an intense BATTERY DRAIN is presented, I pass this with RR 7.1.2 and RR 8.1, in the same way install Mokee this worked normally, but it consumed a lot of battery, and in the three ROMS the phone was heated more than normal, now well in Kernel Auditor in the three ROMS I noticed that 3 more frequent nuclei with name "BIG", they were detained and even if they were activated they stopped again causing the above described.
My question is why and if someone else has happened to this type of problem and what solutions there are.
Like when I install a custom kernel, the cores remain deactivated and with the lowest frequency, this happens to me so much in stock with any rom

Did u disable live display?
SD 617 is a heater and heats up a lot... only stock ROM is the coolest.. after that, i found Invicta OS. RR both nougat and oreo are good given you use Invicta/EX kernel for nougat or you use frostbitten kernel for oreo version of it. I do not remember other ROMs, since i have tried too many.
custom tweaks that you can apply are... having atleast 1 big cluster core and 1 small cluster core active, as it results in less heating, if needed you can make 1 big cluster and 2 small cluster or 2 big cluster and 0 small cluster.. find the combination that works on your phone the besT! Also, give sometime for the ROM to settle before testing for battery and heating issues!
Deactivating live display and night light on oreo ROMs result in less lag!
i have tried all the oreo roms both 64 bits and 32 bits (with and without Gapps) tried changing kernel profile to performance (also tried different kernels) as well but status bar and recents were lagging horribly and i dont know whats the reason, the only rom that ran smoothly ware Bootlegger and Aosip (but these 2 also had lags here and there sometimes)
So the we will never get a good custom rom? The phone came out 2 years ago and still no custom rom that can match or beat the stock ROM.

InvictaOS was very good(better imo compared to stock) followed by official ressurection remix
Custom ROMs can not match the stability and smoothness of stock ROMs. Stock ROMs are made only for the specific device/model, hence it is perfectly tuned and optimized according to the device hardware requirement. On the other hand, custom ROMs are made universal (maintainers pick it up and compile it) which may or may not go well with your device.
Like the title says, is the original rom good? Or should i go custom right as i boot it 1fst time
It worth it, at least you get the notifications work correctly and shows at the top of the status bar unlike the stock rom..
My advice to you is to istall lineage only, it's the most stable rom so far.
It depends on your priorities, if you want more choice, more control on what apps are pre installed, no bloatware, and more customization options, then that's what custom roms are for. But mind that it comes with lower security, at least as long as the manufacturer updates the device. Because custom roms usually run with looser security settings and features.
does custom roms fix the touchscreen lag on the edges?
Not worth it yet. Wait till official lineage and official trwp are released. More risky to use custom roms whose source codes are not released.

as i've seen and read in the forums, the unoffical lineage rom seems to be very stable already. Which problem do you see in flashing this version now?
My bootloader is unlocked in 3 hours and i want to get rid of this EMUI crap and bloatware

You don't get updates on unofficial versions and it's not as well maintained/supported as name implies. I rather keep bootloader locked and secured, and get almost monthly updates from xiaomi. Until official TWRP and LOS are released, as stated earlier. No need to rush and deal with instability or unexpected problems. I debloat unnecessary apps using SAKI program on stock room without root. I honestly think this is the best path to go for now.
I won't install any custom roms before official TWRP support and official LineageOS ROM support comes. I'd not also unlock my phone's bootloader untill those two thing comes.

I switched to Pixel Exirience rom from the global 10.3.5 and touch latency on the edges still the same.
I don't know what custom rom users priorities are, mine definitely having a smooth and proper working device. Most roms I tested in the past simple but most used features, like the camera, were always a headache. It might make sense for a techie or geek, but for daily use I'd rather debloat MIUI for mind peace...

any of you guys installed xiaomi.eu? seems like the better version of miui IMO.

The Evira Kernel is built into the PE, so i just updated it to the last 1.9 version and did not feel any difference.

If you just want to get rid off the bloatware, just use adb commands. No unlocking and rooting needed
If you got the 3GB/32GB variant. then lineage OS or pixel experience should save you some extra GBs of storage and free you some extra ram (MiUI 10.3.5 uses 1.6GB or something IDLE and leaves you with 20GB storage with stock apps)
It is to early. You have latest version of Android OS on your phone, and Xaomi still give us updates with some new features.
Custom Roms are still developing and have some bugs,so .. I will no rush with installing custom rom yet. Thats my opinion.
When Xaomi stop supporting us and giving us updates, after one year that is sure that will happen, than will custom ROMs will be fully developed..and can install it..
I would like to have custom rom ,and Elvira kernel, I like tweaks and mods from Magisk. But also I want to see MIUI 11 and next Xaomi updates for RN7.
As soon as I could, I unlocked my bootloader and installed AOSP (GSI).
I don't really like MIUI, it has a lot of nice features but actually I don't use most of them.
For me, it's worth.
