Hi,
Though I have not tested it yet. But there is TWRP Recovery 3.2.3 posted in 4pda.ru, it has only Russian and English languages: https://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=839089&st=1720#entry75812306
Guide: https://www.androidweblog.com/root-nokia-5-ta-1053-install-twrp-recovery/
XDA User 'alwaysbest' posted a thread here, which also supports upto Android 8.1 Oreo Stock ROM only: https://forum.xda-developers.com/nokia-5/how-to/root-nokia-5-android-8-1-t3831303

Hi I'm a 4pda user. I have TWRP 3.2.3 click here ( download from the site, you need to register )
This recovery is normal flashing on android pie (need open bootloader).
For the root set only Magisk 17.3!!!
TWRP support Project Treble but need compile boot and vendor

What exactly to explain? About Project Treble? Search in google what it is..
About magisk we tried 18 but no one wanted flashing. Selection method determined that recovery flashing ok only Magisk v17.3 And it works great for 9
And I forgot to download from the site, you need to register

Then FASTBOOT reboot (at the same time press vol+ and power button )
Now I am in recovery
Here select magisk version 17.3
Now reboot the the phone

What TWRP version should I use?

Hi guys, I have 2 more weeks of waiting until I can unlock my bootloader.
I don't even want to flash a new rom (since debloating MIUI 10 seems pretty fine to me) but I want to root it, therefor I need TWRP (also thinking about flashing the xiaomi.eu rom since I can update it via TWRP as well).
Long story short: what TWRP version is the current one (functional and not in chinease) since there is nothing available on twrp.me and I'm not really sure what's up.
Thank you so much for your reply! Cheers! :fingers-crossed:
You can use the one made by josalaito, you can find it in the ROMs section. Or you can use the one in the Xiaomi.EU official page. There's not much to choose from, to be honest.

TWRP 3.2.3-0217 [CN] by LR Team is the most functional at the moment.

Nice but where can I find the latest version of LR team's twrp? Searched for a while now but I only find some blogposts with no download link whatsoever.
Would be amazing if you could help me out here :silly::victory:

Don't hurry up, wait untill you unlock the bootloader. You may get more stable TWRP version.
I have downloaded several 'beta' recovery images. 2 different versions of wzsx150, OrangeFox and TWRP. None of them are working with 'fastboot boot recovery.img' After the successful upload, I get a redmi starting screen, nothing else. Is it working for you?
What happens if I upload a bad recovery. Do I have the possibility to overwrite it again with an other file? Does the stock ROM include the recovery?
Thanks for help!

I tried ln team recovery but I just flashed it.I booted to recovery from fastboot(by holding vol up and power till Redmi logo appears than just the vol up button).
I changed the language to English, than went to Advanced tab. There you will find forceencrpt and dm verity disabler.Select both of them and swipe the confirm button.
After that I recommend keeping Magisk 19.0 zip on sd card or internal storage.Flash it and you are rooted.
Your whole data would be erased of course.

When I bought my phone 2 weeks ago (global version) I was notified of the 10.3.6 update, I hope it is ready when I arrive or can I install the latest package?
Were you able to flash it with TWRP? Or how did you do it?
How were you able to update?

1) download the full recovery rom for your device from here https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/miui/
2) reboot to recovery
3) wipe dalvik art/cache and cache
4) flash the rom and magisk (don't reboot to system until you've flashed magisk)

6) enjoy
If you get a compatibility error when flashing the rom just delete from the rom zip the file compatibility.zip

I’m on stock rom, MIUI Global 12.0.2, rooted with Magisk 21.4 and Orangefox recovery. Now there is an update to MIUI 12.0.3.
I’m not sure what to do. When I go to https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/miui/ there is no recovery to 12.0.3. I can only find firmware 12.0.3. Can I still use this solution with firmware type?

I’m rather confused. When I go to About phone it says my MIUI version is Miui Global 12.0.2 stable (QFGEUXM). But the EEA version in your link has the same number: QFGEUXM. Does that mean I can use the Redmi Note 7 EEA Stable Recovery V12.0.3.0. (QFGEUXM)?
Edit: I can see when I click Download the Package Name includes "Global". So I guess it is usable? But then do I choose the Incremental Update or must I download Full ROM (.zip)?
Edit2: Just an update in case anyone should have the same question. I flashed the EEA version without problems. And I downloaded the Full ROM.

I'm not 100% sure because I don't use MIUI, but I think it's still good, what makes you think it's not good anymore? I don't think there have been any particular changes in how MIUI or magisk works that would make it obsolete

Mainly because of the installation guide - https://topjohnwu.github.io/Magisk/install.html#custom-recovery - and Lavender's missing ramdisk. But I'm not sure and therefor I ask.

I'm on official lineageos 17.1 and yesterday I've updated magisk to version 22, then updated the rom without problems. But I've updated magisk from magisk app not from recovery, so I'm not sure that installing magisk from recovery still works in rn7. Anyway after the rom update, magisk still works correctly. Maybe it's better to ask on the magisk thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/magisk-general-support-discussion.3432382/

Requirements
ADB must be installed on PC (Click to ADB to download if you dont have it)
Unlocked Bootloader( fastboot flashing unlock + fastboot flashing unlock_critical )
Steps to install
> Unzip zip file into desktop and open the folder.
> Then run flash_all.bat file and it will install the new update and reboot to system automatically.
(Your files will not be erased if you already unlocked bootloader.)

Recommended Server : Quebec, Canada
DO NOT MIRROR THE DOWNLOAD LINKS BEFORE ASKING ME !
AndroidFileHost - v11.0.11.0 April Security Patch
AndroidFileHost - All Versions
If you want to lock your bootloader after installing it , you can use flash_all_lock.bat OR i prefer to lock it manually by doing this;
Run flash_all.bat and make sure phone boots after installing then open fastboot mode and type
fastboot flashing lock_critical
Then phone will restart automatically into recovery and wipe data.
After screen goes black hold power + volume down button (to open fastboot again) then type
fastboot flashing lock
And after booting you can disable OEM unlock from developer options if you want to.

Because the twrp .IMG file was built only for pie. For Android 10 you will have to use this https://mega.nz/file/1HRAWYKQ#V9OmPxSy3r06qmW8uGszSEBp4qOBJMbmvsaCow2mTJw
Once it is flashed you can use the standard twrp or orangefox or shrp recovery.zip if you want to keep a custom recovery installed

Remove oos native call recorder module if you have it, if not just remove all modules.

Yep I've got guides for unlocking the bootloader and rooting in the guides sections.
Both called as such accordingly.
Tbh there are a few guides all should be fine.
Just read through the root guide.
Unlocking the bootloader it's easy.
Code: fastboot OEM unlock
Agree on phone.
Rooting:
Obtain patched image
Fastboot boot Magisk patched
Don't flash it, just wait for boot then open Magisk and click install / direct install.
Again this is all in the guides.

TWRP doesn't need any android to boot as it uses the recovery partition (in case of S4). All it needs is access to the data partition to save the configuration.

Try this Lineage 18.1 first and see if everything works, because everything should work.
