I have unlocked bootloader, and I have twrp and magisk
Please tell me how to update, I've received the notification but I don't know how is the process to update on this situation
Well, if the classic way doesn't work, you can try this :

And if still not, well this way (but with the correct files for your device !!) :

Thanks man
When I bought my phone 2 weeks ago (global version) I was notified of the 10.3.6 update, I hope it is ready when I arrive or can I install the latest package?
Were you able to flash it with TWRP? Or how did you do it?
How were you able to update?

1) download the full recovery rom for your device from here https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/miui/
2) reboot to recovery
3) wipe dalvik art/cache and cache
4) flash the rom and magisk (don't reboot to system until you've flashed magisk)
5) reboot to system
6) enjoy
If you get a compatibility error when flashing the rom just delete from the rom zip the file compatibility.zip

I’m on stock rom, MIUI Global 12.0.2, rooted with Magisk 21.4 and Orangefox recovery. Now there is an update to MIUI 12.0.3.
I’m not sure what to do. When I go to https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/miui/ there is no recovery to 12.0.3. I can only find firmware 12.0.3. Can I still use this solution with firmware type?

I’m rather confused. When I go to About phone it says my MIUI version is Miui Global 12.0.2 stable (QFGEUXM). But the EEA version in your link has the same number: QFGEUXM. Does that mean I can use the Redmi Note 7 EEA Stable Recovery V12.0.3.0. (QFGEUXM)?
Edit: I can see when I click Download the Package Name includes "Global". So I guess it is usable? But then do I choose the Incremental Update or must I download Full ROM (.zip)?
Edit2: Just an update in case anyone should have the same question. I flashed the EEA version without problems. And I downloaded the Full ROM.

I'm not 100% sure because I don't use MIUI, but I think it's still good, what makes you think it's not good anymore? I don't think there have been any particular changes in how MIUI or magisk works that would make it obsolete

Mainly because of the installation guide - https://topjohnwu.github.io/Magisk/install.html#custom-recovery - and Lavender's missing ramdisk. But I'm not sure and therefor I ask.

I'm on official lineageos 17.1 and yesterday I've updated magisk to version 22, then updated the rom without problems. But I've updated magisk from magisk app not from recovery, so I'm not sure that installing magisk from recovery still works in rn7. Anyway after the rom update, magisk still works correctly. Maybe it's better to ask on the magisk thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/magisk-general-support-discussion.3432382/

I assume you have this TWRP installed, if not, install it: TWRP
Alright, let's install.
1. Boot into TWRP
2. Go to wipe - advanced wipe
3. Wipe all but SD card
3. Then go back to wipe.
4. There is an option next to advanced wipe, forgot what it was. (I think it was "Format Data")
5. Tap that option and type "yes"
6. Reboot back into TWRP
7. Flash the ROM and flash Open GApps right after flashing the ROM (I used Pico Open GApps)
8. Do a factory reset, wipe Cache, Dalvik / ART cache, and Data in advanced wipe just to be sure.
9. Reboot

It's not the best idea to wipe with TWRP. It's better to do it with stock recovery or manually with fastboot.

Yes I flashed the 16.4, not sure what happened. I can get into twrp, tried wiping and flashing the DotOs image again but all it does is boot into Huawei recovery. When I get home I will try downloading the stock firmware from the MT website and if I can get it to boot up Ill try flashing DotOs again.

How's it compared to lineage 15.1? How's battery life? Post few screenshots and check whether substratum works or not? TIA
Tried flashing gapps linked and get an error about gapps isnt compatible. Tried flashing 8.0, 8.1 and 7.1.2 gapps and none work.
Hell yeah got the phone operational again, time to get back to flashing.

Most likely there is something wrong with what you're using to flash the GApps, like the SD card, USB OTG, etc. Try switching it out.
But before doing all that, first flash the ROM, and then reboot again into TWRP and try flashing it if that makes a difference. Make sure you're flashing the ROM like the original post says.

Hello everyone, could anyone help me to migrate from ROM xXx to Android 9?
I am currently using the ROM xXx but when trying to switch to another ROM I have problems with bootloop.
I tried following the procedures outlined in the last comments of the original thread but did not succeed, could anyone help me with a step by step to get out of the ROM and go to version 9 of android?
Here is some information that may be helpful in finding a possible solution:
Actually ROM: xXx No Limits 4.3 (https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...xxx-nolimits-1-1-speed-ram-optimized-t3627121)
New ROM:OxygenOS 9.0.1 (https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5/how-to/official-oxygenos-4-5-2-7-1-1-ota-t3627003)
Device is decrypted
Bootloader Unlocked
TRWP 3.2.1-X blu_spark v8.61
In some attempts to install ROM the TWRP returned me error regarding vendor partition.
Thanks to anyone who can help me.

You'll need to be on your PC for this. Make sure you backup anything you want to keep from Internal Storage:
OOS:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5/how-to/oneplus-5-mirrors-official-oxygen-os-t3628190
1) Wipe and Format everything in TWRP.
2) Move OOS 5.1.3 (Full Zip) to Internal Storage
3) Install 5.1.3 and nothing else (You will lose TWRP, but don't worry abut that now)
4) OTA up to 5.1.7
5) If you don't get offered OTA to 9.0.1 use full zip from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5/how-to/official-oxygenos-4-5-2-7-1-1-ota-t3627003
6) Once on OOS 9.0.1 you can use Fastboot to flash latest Codeworkx TWRP: https://sourceforge.net/projects/cheeseburgerdumplings/files/16.0/cheeseburger/recovery/
If you want to install a custom ROM after that:
7) Wipe and Format

I will also download via mobile data on the 4G network.

It could make things easier. If your phone still boots into OOS, go into Setting and scroll to the very bottom and select About Phone. Look at what Oxygen OS you are running. What you need to do is get that version all the way up to 5.1.7. Once you are there, you can just flash 9.0.2.

I have not tried to install 5.1.4 yet, I was trying to 5.1.3 as it was suggested, I will download version 5.1.4 that is in this repository (https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5/how-to/oneplus-5-mirrors-official-oxygen-os-t3628190), and I will try to make the installation clean, ie format all the data, move the ZIP into the internal memory and try to see if it works.
I will try to clarify about the patch in case I try to reinstall ROM No Limits I need to install the full version which is 12.0 and patch 4.3 is just an update patch for the latest version and I can also go back to version 12.0.
Version 5.1.4 I have not yet tested if I can install it without errors, I will do it soon and I will come back with the result.
I think 5.1.4 should do the trick. I would highly recommend you wipe everything including systems, internal and data. This will pretty much give you a blank phone. Connect the phone to your computer and copy over 5.1.4 to the internal storage through TWRP, it should be the only file you see in your sdcard. Flash it and you should be good.

Bringing the result of a few more tests, I first changed the recovery version, I went to the twrp-3.2.3-0-20181031-codeworkx-cheeseburger.img as suggested and after that I formatted all the data and started to appear a new one Error that was Failed to mount '/ vendor' (Invalid argument), I tried to install the 5.1.3 ROM and also to 5.1.4, which it was indicating was installing but at the end of the installation again I returned the error Failed to mount '/ vendor '(Invalid argument).
After that I reinstalled ROM No Limits 12.0 v. 5.1.3.
Does anyone know how to solve this new error?
Hello guys,
I'm searching (as the title said) someone that is in my same situation. I'm currently running the MIUI Global on Mi 9T with twrp + magisk. I'd like to update it safely but I don't know how to do. I tried to flash the rom zip through the twrp but it gives me the error "zip file is corrupt". I hope I will found someone to collaborate with.
I think the best things to do are:
- Unistall Magisk from twrp
- Reflash the original recovery through twrp
- Update MIUI Global
- Reflash TWRP and Install magisk
The possible issue is at the first step: if we unistall Magisk we could be stuck into bootloop and then we cannot do anything to restore our phone.
Another possible solution is to flash the fastboot rom through MiFlash but it is still not out and I don't know if it will ever be.
EDIT: I found how to correctly update the device. If anyone is in my same situation, just follow these steps
- Download the rom link from here
- Go to twrp and flash it (don't reboot yet)
- Go back and flash magisk
- Reboot
can you explain steps how you tried to flash by twrp?

Sure, I just downloaded the rom zip through the official updater and then I tried to flash it through twrp
Update: ok, the zip was really damaged. Now I installed it through an external source. How I can safely update now?
now you install which rom? eea or global?

EEA. A developer of my old device suggested me to do this:
- Flash the rom zip
- Flash magisk (since it should disable dmverity to keep the twrp)
- Reboot
But I repeat: I'm scared like crazy because if I go into bootloop my phone will be out since a new fastboot rom will be out.
What's your opinion about this? Should I try anyway?
Before foashing new rom ununstal magisk by twrp. After all should work well
Sent from my Redmi K20 using Tapatalk
I have read of some cases of bootloop after magisk unistall

Hello,
I have a rooted Oneplus 5 (Android 8.1, OxygenOS 5.1.7) and I'm trying to update it to get the newest version of Oxygen OS.

After looking around on the internet, I found that it is because my TWRP is outdated.
I tried to download newer versions from the Official TWRP App but when I go to the recovery, I only get a black screen.
I reinstalled this version 3.2.3 : https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...overy-twrp-3-2-1-0-oreo-oxygenos-5-0-t3725723 but still can't manage to update OxygenOS.
Any help ?
Thanks

Hello, I can't recommend any guide on outside of xda cause they're not consistent...
Just follow this guide in the first post https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5/how-to/official-oxygenos-4-5-2-7-1-1-ota-t3627003 would help you.
You can't flash twrp 3.3.1 cause you need newer firmware, pie firmware.
Please answer all the questions:
What is you current twrp recovery (file name)?
What is your current Rom(file name)?
What is your magisk version?
Is your storage encryped or decrypted?
Hello and thanks for your answer.
My current TWRP is twrp-3.2.3-0-20180822-codeworkx-cheeseburger.img
I am not sure about my ROM's file name
My Magisk version is 19.3 (19300) - Magisk Manager version is 7.3.4 (235) : it says everything's up to date
I think my storage is encrypted since it asks for my password when I start TWRP
[Clean Flash] For Users with an Unlocked Bootloader and TWRP Recovery:
Download the full ROM zip from the downloads section above
Transfer the zip to the root of your device's internal storage
Only needed if you are coming from Oreo and use a TWRP that does not ignore the compatibility.zip check: Remove the compatibility.zip from the downloaded full ROM zip with either MiXplorer or Total Commander (not with any other tool!) on your device itself
Reboot to TWRP recovery (make sure you're using an Oreo TWRP if you're on Oreo Firmware/ROM or Pie TWRP if you're on Pie Firmware/ROM) and take a nandroid backup of your existing ROM
Flash Magisk Uninstaller (recommended)
From the TWRP menu, Wipe > Advanced wipe > Select dalvik-cache, cache, system, vendor and data> Swipe to wipe
From the TWRP menu, Install > Select full ROM zip (modified one with compatibility.zip removed, in case you're on Oreo or unmodified one, in case you're on Pie) > Swipe to flash
Flash the latest stable Magisk in case you want to root
From the TWRP menu, Wipe > Advanced wipe > Select dalvik-cache and cache > Swipe to wipe
Optional: If you wish to decrypt, format data via TWRP (please note that wiping the data partition, which we did in the 5th step above, is not the same as formatting it) and after that flash xXx No Verity 4.0.zip from here
Reboot
Note: First boot may take some time, so please be patient and wait for it to boot.

If I understand correctly from the link you sent me, TWRP doesn't ignore the compatibility.zip check so in order to install OxygenOS 9.0.8 I need to delete this part of the ZIP first ?

Exactly, delete the compatibility.zip from 9.0.8 rom file and flash it with your current twrp, exactly like in the linked guide for update, not clean flash if you have already a rom above OxygenOS 5.1.4, so please check your OxygenOS version(settings, about).

If you have TWRP, move the OTA file to the PC, open it with 7zip (NOT WinRAR) and delete the compatibility.zip. Then copy it again to the phone, flash and before rebooting flash a Pie TWRP

Clean flash wipes system and data, so no os, data and settings.

I re-did all the process and managed to update my OS on the second try.
Now I have an issue trying to put TWRP and Magisk back : I'm following this tutorial https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5/how-to/oneplus-5-unlock-bootloader-flash-twrp-t3624877 but I can't seem to be able to put TWRP.
When my phone is on and connected to the computer,
Code:
adb devices
does see the phone but then when I go into the bootloader and I type
Code:
fastboot devices
nothing happens. When I go for
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
it just tells me it's waiting for any device.
I've tried deleting and reinstalling the drivers with the too provided in the thread, but still doesn't work.

Thanks for your answer. I believe I am in fastboot mode/bootloader as I said in my previous message. I've been following this tutorial : https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5/how-to/oneplus-5-unlock-bootloader-flash-twrp-t3624877
I just checked on Youtube, this is the screen I am on : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4xlmZXgkUrQ
So as I said, once I am on this screen where I can select between START/POWER OFF/RECOVERY MODE/RESTART BOOTLOADER and I type the "fastboot device" command, nothing comes up.
Is this screen not the "Fastboot mode" ?

I was hoping I could flash TWRP and Magisk without wiping my data
It's weird that when it's on I can see it with "adb devices" and Windows sees it's a Oneplus, but when it's in fastboot I can't with "adb fastboot" and Windows detects an USB but can't say what it is.
I feel its a driver issue but can't figure it out

That's such a strange bug. If you are in fastboot, it's impossible for your PC to recognize it in ADB mode. Try with another computer or use unbrick tool to clean your phone (it installs Oxy 9.0.8)
Well I managed to see the fastboot thanks to the EOM cable but I think I bricked my phone
All right guys, I haven't been active for quite a long time in the past year or so and need some additional help like the title says.
So , what would be the most painless way to get from the old Dev 9.8.15 to the latest dev build ... probably the 20.3.26? (From Android 9 to 10).
A step by step guide would be priceless since no one wants to end getting your phone bricked, right?
So...what? Use miflash an get back to global Rom? If so, which one, and which firmware? Also, what twrp to use, magisk and so on...
Is it possible to use the twrp app for the process ?
Any kind of advice is appreciated.
Cheers!

We guess you speak about beta xiaomi.eu custom ROM and not beta China ROM?
- Download latest 20.3.26 (for Redmi K20/Mi 9T devices) => https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=4349826312261755297
- Download Magisk uninstaller (if you get issues after reinstalling Magisk in new ROM version) => https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/releases/download/v20.4/Magisk-uninstaller-20200323.zip
- Download latest Magisk version => https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/releases/download/v20.4/Magisk-v20.4.zip
Put all these zip files in root of your phone's storage and reboot your phone in TWRP.
1) Flash new ROM version in TWRP. Reboot after finished.
2) Wait phone to boot into system (can take a few minutes).
3) Reboot again in TWRP and flash Magisk zip (NOT uninstaller zip).
4) Reboot your phone, *if your phone fail to boot to system -> do step 5.
*5) Reboot to TWRP and flash Magisk uninstaller zip, then flash Magisk zip again. Reboot your phone.

Just to be clear so i do not hassle day in and day out.
- Since we are speaking about two different android builds, there is no need to revert back to global? Somewhere else "suggested" to do that because of that exact reason. (by that I mean the global fastboot ROM)
- Do i need any specific TWRP build to make it go without any troubles?
- When flashing new ROM i wipe all - anything specific so i don't miss out ? (haven't done it in a while)
for now thanks a lot mon ami.

- You don't need to revert back to global when using xiaomi.eu ROM.
- Use your current TWRP, it should be fine and it will be automatically updated after flashing new xiaomi.eu ROM.
- You don't need to wipe anything. In case of issue after ROM update, you can "Format Data" in TWRP > Reboot TWRP > Put 20.3.26 zip ROM and reflash it (clean flash).

Yeap, download and install MIUI 12 Beta zip ROM in TWRP.
After updating to MIUI 12 Beta ROM, you may need to clear all app data of "Updater" app in phone's settings to fix it (if you can't open the Updater to check for OTA updates).
