For some reason my G6 keeps having the high temperature warning and wont let me higher up its brightness. The temperature seems fine, in fact kind of cold. I tried rebooting, but still nothing. Anybody with the same issue? Btw my model is H870DS

Maybe the sensor got stuck or failed, download cpu z and check the temps.

I bought an LG G6 not so long ago. But I have noticed it is getting really warm when using it. It normally hitting 36-41 degrees Celcius, this is so especially when I am using the camera.
Is this the normal temperature for this phone? Are there solutions to this problem?
Thanks for your replies in advance.
I didnt measure but my phone doesnt get hot. In fact S7 and P10 I had before were considerable warm when using with cam and games...P10 even on 4G.....G6 has an advanced cooling system as I heard nad on that part should be better....Do you use any kind of case? It should help at least you wont notice it. Your temps arent so high to damage your phone...
could be you have a rogue app

Yes. The G6 has a more advanced cooling system and non of this should be happening. My worry is that I got a faulty machine and i might regret in the future.
I will get a case and see the difference.. If it persists I will consider returning.
Thanks

I have been monitoring my usage whenever it starts hot and closed some of the apps that were just running idle and nothing. I also did a factory reset and that did not help as well.
What is your cell signal strength and what radios (GPS? WiFi? Bluetooth? Cellular?) are you using when you get lots of heat?
It may be that you are pumping lots of energy into maintaining a weak connection over LTE, while using GPS and bluetooth. In such situation, you could get warm even if you aren't doing anything CPU/GPU intensive, even with screen off.

sounds like it could be faulty my lg g6 never gets warm unless its working really heard ie installing tons of stuff
Not a problem unless a message pops up saying it's too hot and it must dim your screen. Never had that on my G6 even in direct sunlight or doing VR.
Idk mine never gone to more than 38 degrees... And that was when temperure here in my ****ry were like 40 outside... So actually that is what i like about the phone that it is always cool ? currently @ 25, average 30, max. 34. Soo that's dope for me.

my g6 H871 is not hot but it show warning high temperature detected powering off device how to disable this thing
Today I did a little experiment with my MZP, I put some ice cubes in a seal plastic bag and put my device over it. I wanted to know how much low the temperature can get. I waited and results were amazing. I started capturing at 18°C and captured lot of screen shots till I'm out of ice and ended up at 5.7°C (lol).
I think it can go more lower than that, let me know if anyone had tried before or after trying. My objective was to see when the phone gets blacked out but unfortunately it didn't happen. I think at about 0°C it would die. It was just a simple experiment. I also tested if charging speed increases or not but unfortunately no, moreover that input voltage was increasing so much so I decided to pull out the charger. One can also test for how much temperature can rise but it would be dangerous so don't try this unless you have all safety equipments and a MZP to burn (it may not burn, idk). I think using phone at lower temperature like 30-37°C is good for long run.
I was using my Moto in temperatures below -20 degrees.
Worked.

Wow, -20°C surrounding temperature? What's your CPU temperature then?
Just for your information, low and high temperature is not good for lithium batteries.

Is anyone else experiencing WIFI and battery issues with the Jan 2019 update?
What is the build / version number?
Have you tried factory resetting? How was it installed?

Yes. In my case with the T710. It is a very well known issue (battery drain) with the January update. There are a lot of claims against Samsung in some forums.
I have performed a factory reset twice without any change.
The only solution seems to rollback to previous firmware with Odin.

Thanks for the feedback! There's a few going through this with the 9.7" model (T813).
So, it would seem for sure there is something up with the 2019 builds.
T713. 2 percent per hour. After reboot 1 percent every 3 to 4 hours.. This is in standby, without usage. I dont get it.
Had this issue on my T813 as well, but it seems solved with the update to T813XXS2BSG1/T813OXA2BSA1

You are Lucky. I am affraid that we will not receive any new update in T710 to fix the issue, as it is one year older.

Which build?
I have this tablet, Tab S2 8.0, SM-T713 with the stock Android that I recently updated to 7.0 and I noticed the battery seems to be draining fast. I didnt calculate the charging mAh capacity before, but after the update its about 2500 mah. I measured this using a USB power meter. The battery capacity in the product spec is 4000mah. So I believe they basically reduced the capacity of the battery to 62% of its original. This is criminal behavior and should be severely punished.
My Moto g4 phone has a 3000mah battery and after 3 years, its measured capacity is still good, about 2500mah or about 83% which is reasonable.
I believe Samsung purposely reduced the battery capacity to force people to buy newer models. There should be a class action lawsuit against them for this.
I havent noticed Wifi issues so far.
Hi all. Recently my Mi 9T running MIUI 11 has started having some battery temperature issues. The sensor seems to think my battery is -40C and so I keep getting obtrusive popups telling me my phone is too cold. Tried a factory data reset but no luck. I've put some screenshots of the issue up here. Anyone else experiencing this? I might try rolling back to MIUI 10 to see if that fixes it but I'm doubtful...

-40°? May be a broken temperature sensor. If it's that cold you most probably live on the north pole....
I recently updated from MIUI 10 to 11 by ota and temperatures are fine.

I have the same problem here temperature stuck at -40 and then when I restart it flashes mi logo and won't start for some time. When the temperate is -40 it won't charge.
Also miui 11 update and a new phone (under 1 month)

Interesting... That's exactly the same as what was happening to me. I ended up sending the phone back to be repaired. It's worrying as I've heard so much good stuff about this phone. Guess it's not a widespread issue but still sucks. I'm pretty sure it's something to do with the battery/battery connector as I was also getting battery drain and at one point the battery percentage wasn't updating.
