Hi all. Recently my Mi 9T running MIUI 11 has started having some battery temperature issues. The sensor seems to think my battery is -40C and so I keep getting obtrusive popups telling me my phone is too cold. Tried a factory data reset but no luck. I've put some screenshots of the issue up here. Anyone else experiencing this? I might try rolling back to MIUI 10 to see if that fixes it but I'm doubtful...

-40°? May be a broken temperature sensor. If it's that cold you most probably live on the north pole....
I recently updated from MIUI 10 to 11 by ota and temperatures are fine.

I have the same problem here temperature stuck at -40 and then when I restart it flashes mi logo and won't start for some time. When the temperate is -40 it won't charge.
Also miui 11 update and a new phone (under 1 month)

Interesting... That's exactly the same as what was happening to me. I ended up sending the phone back to be repaired. It's worrying as I've heard so much good stuff about this phone. Guess it's not a widespread issue but still sucks. I'm pretty sure it's something to do with the battery/battery connector as I was also getting battery drain and at one point the battery percentage wasn't updating.

I m using galaxy Note 4 N910C, which i have had for 15 month.
Since the last 2 or 3 months, the battery drain increased a lot, and it goes incredibly fast from 30~20% to 0%. Sometimes it may even shut when at 20...I m thinking this is happening because of OS update to marshmallow and since then no more updates for us.
But right now my phone screen started flickering, my aplications became very laggy and unresponsive, and phone lost mobile signal (wifi still connected). I plugged the charger in and it still kept falling untill 0% and turned off.
This is the problem I m also having. Many have got the same problem. Why it actually happening. Mostly seems to be software issues. After factory reset my battery stays longer but within 2 to 3days again same problem. Because of marshmallow update. **** what the ****ing developers doing ? We need one ****in updatell to fix this issue.
I have even heard that the battery calibration in android 6.0.1 update has some sort of problem and recalibration would fix the problem for some but not for all since it didn't fixed my problem. Anyone who has some ideas about this severe issue please help. Help will be appreciated. Thank you.

OK, well it's definitely not the Marshmallow update - I've been using it on my N910C since it was released and on a recently purchased battery (direct from Samsung) I'm getting 5-6 hours SoT and battery always goes to 1% before shutting down (although I rarely let it get that low).
It may be some other software causing your problem, a hardware issue, a non-genuine battery, or you somehow need to reset the battery stats. Because it works OK for 2-3 days after a reset, it sounds like it might be some app causing an issue.
Hi people!
I cannot complain about battery life, specially in stand by (i rarely active use the phone), with wifi always active and during day time whatssapp web active in background, after root, naptime to force doze and other optimization here and there, my battery last till 6/8 days (with little screen time, 10/20 minuts/day), lol.
Problem is the screen use a lot of juice, even if i set up brightness around 55% only.
And, more strange, i lost 1% of battery almost all time i unlock the screen and use the phone a little.
I mean, i unlock for example the phone and im 80% battery, in 20/60 seconds will turn to 79%.
I unlock and use a little when is at 56%, after 10/30/60 second, turn to 55%.. and so on...
This happen most of the time i unlock it to check screen and i play around a little checking apps and doing stuff, but no games or heavy apps.
Im in last January oreo patch.
Is a common "issue", if issue can be called?
Is a behavior other mi a1 phone noticed too?
My phone was behaving like this also before root and before use naptime.
Facing same issues
I have notice this too but also 1 restart cost 1% battery life is this normal? So if I continuously restart phone 5 times it will use 5%, is this like this for other phones too I'm not quite sure?
I don't have such issue, I turned on/off 6 times with delay for about 60 sec and it dropped only 1% the first time, and I keep the screen brightness about 70%

For restart I would say it's normal
Yes, it's the "famous" battery drain on Oreo...it should be fixed with February update.

OK but this seems more a issue of your phone, not a general, operative system base, battery drain.
And your issue dont have similarities with phenom i described in first post in this topic!
You must check what app/setthing keep your phone awake while in stand by and fix it.

Just go on MIUI Forum.
Mi A1 subforum.
There's a lot of posts about battery drain.
It's not an issue of my phone.
AND it's battery in your "phenom" too.
Or you have a damaged battery.

How did you measure that out? Just curious because of 40/50, 10 Celsius difference. Lmao
Several apps (cpu analysers, battery monitors). Temp varies per app but all are high (45,48,49) and phone feels hot.
Also sometimes it makes a notification/alert noise which I cannot locate

How? Do you mean Google play store data?
Top on phone is with my Mi 9t is very hot!
Same here. Started to heat up on top a bit more than usual. And got bigger problem later.
solution (maybe)
I had this problem for 2 weeks now and I tried multiple custom roms. After all the roms I found a sollution, I hope it works with yours too. I don't know if it helps to install xiaomi.eu but I'm on xiaomi.eu and when I dissabled NFC my battery is back at where it was 4 weeks ago, long battery life and not getting hot. So maybe it's only NFC that's causing it but maybe xiaomi.eu also helped solving the problem.
So this has happened twice now in span of 3 weeks. I charged my phone to 100%, turned on airplane mode, kept the wifi off as well. All the apps were closed. I checked my phone 8 hours later and it was powered off. I plugged in charger and after 10 minutes it gained 1 percent charge. Ironically battery works all good normally, it's just these two instances where it went dead overnight without any use and with network and wifi off. What could be the problem? Any ideas
MI 9T
Miui 11 global 11 0.1 stable
Note: This never happened on miui 10, been using the phone since September. Upgraded to miui 11 in early November.
Cool story, been discussed here many times. It's an issue with OS drm, happened to me twice. Search next time

Go to beta and check if the notifications on apps such as Whatsapp and Facebook are off on both the apps and OS
It could be WhatsApp related. I used whatsapp rarely and it drain happened when it was used, so might be coincidence or Whatsapp is gathering all our stuff in the background

Have the same issue, in my case was youtube, uninstall using xiaomi ADB tool (windows app). It trigger some drm services and top the two big Cores at max freq. Uninstall youtube and test ir it happen again.
Oh, did you used the original charger ?
You can use YouTube vanced for non root also
Just because you close the apps does not mean they won't run by themselves at some point. No issues here since I got my phone 1 month ago. It has to be an app you have installed

Hadn't installed anything new prior to the occurrence of this issue. It hasn't happened again though but this needs to be sorted out as it has happened twice in about a month. Personally from what I've noticed, it happens if you unplug your phone before it's fully charged and then moments later plug it back in and let it go to 100%. Other thing I've noticed is that if you leave the phone on charge for like 10 to 15 minutes after it reaches 100%, battery tends to last much longer than it would if you were to unplug it soon as it hits 100%.
I am facing a fast battery drain issue in my mi k20 smart phone after MiUi update.
Is it a software related issue or battery problem? Any suggestion ? Charging speed is also reduced. :crying::crying:

There are already three other threads about battery drain with MUUI 12 on K20, plus discussion in other threads about MIUI 12
Did you mind first to take a look for them
Hello everyone,
I am facing the fast charging issue in k20 pro the fast charging stopped working and only does normal charging. In the hardware test it shows as current project need to test USB_ Hvdcp. Is it a software issue
Cool story, but this is K20 forum, not pro
First try different cable, different charger, check settings if fast charging is enabled
that's why you don't stick with MIUI
double post
I am facing phone hanging problem on my K20 smart phone. How to resolve this? I have reset recently but not solve my problem.

Which ROM?
Have you experienced very fast battery drain?
Does it get hot?
I think there's some issue in the mi k20. I have serviced twice and the support team finally said its a software issue, I avoided what they said and then i purchased a new battery , now its fine
